Anderson Cooper opened his CNN program on Monday night by reporting live from Orlando. He also did so while fighting back tears as he read through the names of everyone who died at the hands of Omar Mateen on Saturday night and Sunday morning. Mateen, of course, is a name we wish we did not know. The 29-year old opened fire with an assault weapon inside of a gay nightclub called Pure on Saturday, taking multiple people hostage for several hours and eventually being killed by police in a shootout. But not before he murdered 50 innocent patrons and aligned himself with ISIS on a 911 call during his attack. He was responsible for the largest number of deaths in one shooting in U.S. history. On Monday afternoon, a rundown of all 49 victims was released to the public. “They’re more than a list of names. They were people who loved, and were loved. They were people who had families and friends and dreams,” Cooper said on air, broadcasting live from near Pulse. “And the truth is, we don’t know much about some of them. We want you to hear their names and a little bit about who they were.” The anchor, clearly deeply affected by the tragedy, started to falter while relating details about Edward Sotomayor Jr., a 34-year-old travel agent. The network did not have any background information on this victim. “We think it’s important that you hear their names,” Cooper said, crying. Cooper, of course, is gay himself. Not that one has to be gay in order to be crushed by this tragedy; one need only be human. But it's not hard to see why those in the gay community would take it even harder than others. Florida Man Posts Video Of Himself Beating Girlfriend With A Belt On Snapchat A Florida man just dry snitched on himself after he violently attacked a teenage girl and posted the footage onto Snapchat according to WSVN reports: A man in Palm Beach County could have gotten away with a violent crime, but thanks to Snapchat, the popular social media app used by millions, he is now in jail and facing charges. According to a report by the Sun Sentinel, on May 16, 18-year-old Smith Dorcent of Boynton Beach tied up a 17-year-old girl, beat her with a belt, and filmed the entire violent act on her own Snapchat. An arrest report said Dorcent forced the victim to unlock her phone after she refused to give him her password. Then, he filmed himself beating her up on her very own Snapchat account. That is when several people who knew the victim saw the video on her Snapchat and immediately called police. According to police, after speaking with the victim, they discovered the suspect had kept her tied up for several minutes after posting the video. When will this generation learn to put their damn phones down?!?
A recall petition is making its way around the Internet, one that seeks to penalize the judge at the center of the Brock Turner sexual assault case. Last week, Turner was found guilty on three felony accounts of sexual assault for actions that stemmed from an incident in January of 2015. A jury decreed that Turner digitally raped an unnamed victim near a dumpster after the two had attended a party. The woman was unconscious and woke up hours later in a hospital, dried blood and pine needles all over her. Turner was stopped in the middle of his heinous action by two men who rode by on bicycles, one of whom chased the rapist and tackled him in the street. Due to the verdict, Turner was eligible to face up to 14 years in state prison. On Thursday, however, Santa Clara County Judge Persky ordered a shockingly lenient ruling: only six months… in county jail. Why did Persky barely punish Turner for his sexual assault? In court, the judge cited Turner’s clean criminal record and said he believed that a harsher punishment would leave a “severe impact” on him. As you might expect, critics have gone off on Persky ever since, especially in light of the moving statement also made in court by the victim. You want a “severe impact,” Judge Persky? It already has amassed more than 230,000 signatures and it states that “Judge Persky failed to see that the fact that Brock Turner is a white male star athlete at a prestigious university does not entitle him to leniency. “He also failed to send the message that sexual assault is against the law regardless of social class, race, gender or other factors.” It’s worth noting that Persky, like Turner, is a Stanford graduate who played a sport for the prestigious university. This sad case has also gone viral because Turner’s dad, Dan Turner, wrote a letter defending the college athlete surfaced. In it, Dan described the rape as “20 minutes of action out of [Brock’s] 20-plus years of life” and argued that his child should not spend any time in jail at all. The comedian was apparently the victim of a hoax pulled by hacker who busted into the Twitter account of Tenacious D, Black’s band. Early on Sunday, a disturbing tweet from the account was sent. “I’m sad to officially announce the death of Jack Black at the age of 46, rest in peace brother,” read the post. Shortly thereafter, a second tweet reading simply “#RipJackBlack” was issued. And to make sure it seemed super believable, the hacker sent a third tweet: “It is with a heavy heart I am to announce that Jack Black passed away last night at 3:37am. The cause of death is yet unknown.” After a number of media outlets reported the alleged death, the criminal finally came clean. “Calm down guys! It’s just a prank bro, look there’s the camera,” he or she wrote, adding, “The Legend is still alive, it is ok guys :)” And then, unbelievably, the a-hole took a stab at self-promotion. “While you are all on Twitter, you should all follow me @Ruthless” If any of you were in fact considering following this person, sorry, the account has been suspended. Tenacious D has resumed control of the account and the death tweets have been deleted. The band sent a message clarifying that the whole ordeal was nothing but a terribly unfunny hoax. “WE had our Twitter account hacked. We can assure you that Jack is ALIVE and WELL and that this was a sick ‘prank,'” they tweeted. Last we heard from Black, he was starting up some shiz with Leonardo DiCaprio , but that quickly fizzled out, as we’re sure this scandal will as well.

Woman Charged For Allegedly Administering Illegal Butt Injections The death of a popular transgender Atlanta drag queen is being investigated and someone believed to be in connection has been arrested. Florida police took 46-year-old Deanna Roberts into custody after performer Lateasha Shuntel real name Lateasha Hull, died from complications following a black market butt job. WFTV reports: A Sanford woman was arrested Tuesday on charges related to the use of silicone injections for cosmetic reasons. Residents on 20th Street in Sanford saw federal agents raid 46-year-old Deanna Roberts’ home. Investigators said Roberts injected someone in the buttocks last November in North Georgia. The victim, identified only by the initials L.H., died, and investigators said, “the death of L.H. resulted from the use of the liquid silicone obtained by the defendant.” Two days after the alleged injection, a popular Atlanta drag performer with the stage name Lateasha Shuntel died, and there was talk that the death was related to silicone injections. Shuntel’s death made headlines in the Atlanta area. Her real name was Lateasha Hall, and on the day of the alleged injections, the victim tagged Roberts in a Facebook post, saying, “I don’t think my (expletive) will ever stop hurting, but I have no doubt you are the best in the business.” Prosecutors said that beginning in 2004, Roberts started buying liquid silicone from an Arizona company called Factor II. They said she bought 178 gallons over the past 11 years and frequently traveled to inject people with the silicone. Student Dies After High School Fight Over A Boy A teenage girl has died after getting jumped by several girls in her class over a juvenile argument. A fight broke out between the girl and another student in their high school bathroom before classes commenced for the day…eventually resulting in the girl’s passing after other girls jumped in and banged her head on the hard sink. Via MailOnline : A 16-year-old girl died after getting into a fight with another girl over a boy at a school in Delaware. Officials have not named the girl, but friends and sources close to the investigation identified her as Amy Inita Joyner-Francis, according to The News-Journal. Joyner-Francis was jumped by a gang of bullies in her school’s bathroom Thursday morning. Officials said the fight broke out around 8.15am before classes at Howard High School of Technology, a vocational school in Wilmington, Delaware. Students who witnessed the deadly scuffle said that the 16-year-old and another girl started fighting in one of the women’s bathrooms over a boy, when a gang of other girls jumped the victim. At one point, someone banged her head on a sink, according to witnesses who spoke with 6ABC. Kaya Wilson was in a stall when the fight broke out and spoke with the local news station after leaving school. ‘She was fighting a girl, and then that’s when all these other girls started banking her -like jumping her – and she hit her head on the sink,’ Wilson said. The victim was flown to A.I. DuPont Children’s Hospital in critical condition, where she was later pronounced dead.The cause of death has not been confirmed News media outlets quoted Police Chief Bobby Cummings as saying that two female students were taken to police headquarters for questioning. Police Searching For Thief Who Robbed An 103-Year-Old Woman In The Bronx There are all sorts of terrible people doing terrible things in the world today, but as Meek Mill-ism goes “there’s levels to this s#!t”. The NYDailyNews is reporting one of the more nefarious crimes that we’ve come across in quite some time… Cops are searching for a heartless thief who robbed a 103-year-old woman of her food while knocking her off her feet in the Bronx Friday. The suspect — a woman — followed the 103-year-old into the elevator at the victim’s building on Bellamy Loop in Co-op City at 2:30 p.m,, police said. Once in the hall, the suspect knocked the elderly woman down, grabbing her purse. The attacker also swiped two meals the woman had received from a nearby community center. The victim refused medical attention. Police released surveillance video Friday night of the attacker, described as a black female, 5-foot-8, weighing 250 pounds.
