SMH: Police are investigating the “racially motivated” beating of a 27-year-old man who was walking home from midtown bars early Saturday when he said he was jumped by five to eight men who shouted “Trayvon” before the attack. The exclamation was an apparent reference to Trayvon Martin, a 17-year-old from Miami who was shot and killed in February walking back to his father’s girlfriend’s house in Sanford. His shooter, George Zimmerman, has not been charged. The case of Martin, an unarmed black teenager who was killed by Zimmerman, a Hispanic crime-watch volunteer, has stirred conversations across the country about race, crime and profiling. Investigators believe that case was the catalyst for the beating Saturday in Gainesville. “We do believe that the crime was racially motivated,” Gainesville Police Department spokeswoman Cpl. Angelina Valuri said. The assailants were black, while the victim is white, Valuri said. She said the victim had been drinking and could not provide a description of the attackers or their vehicle, only that it was a mid-size vehicle. But Valuri said his injuries were consistent with being jumped by a group. During what he told police was a five-minute beating, he sustained injuries to the left eye, abrasions to his palms and a cut on his right kneecap, and Valuri said he would likely have “permanent disfigurement to the left side of his face.” He was taken to Shands at the University of Florida for treatment. The attack occurred at about 2:45 a.m. in the 3200 block of Southwest 23rd Terrace. The victim told police that a vehicle was coming east on Southwest 32nd Place when it stopped at 23rd Terrace. A group of men got out and told him he was walking too slowly, the victim told police. They then yelled “Trayvon,” according to a GPD report, and proceeded to beat him. Turn the page for the video.

Police surveillance video footage of George Zimmerman hours after he shot Trayvon Martin does not appear to show any injuries or bloodstains on the man who claims he killed the Florida teen in self defense February 26. His attorney says the video is too grainy to be revealing, however. The footage, obtained by ABC News late Wednesday, shows the handcuffed Zimmerman getting out of the police car, unaided, and walking into the police station where he was escorted after the shooting in Sanford, Fla. Watch: George Zimmerman Police Video In the police tape, taken about four hours after the deadly incident, there are no visible signs of injuries to Zimmerman’s head or blood on his clothes. However, he is wearing a red jacket, which could obscure a lot. Zimmerman’s attorney Craig Sonner described the video as “very grainy” on NBC’s Today , noting that Zimmerman had been “cleaned-up” and received first aid care in the hours between the incident and his arrival at the police station. Sonner previously said that his client suffered a broken nose and a gash to his head during the altercation in which he says Zimmerman feared for his life . Appearing on CNN Wednesday, Martin family lawyer Benjamin Crump called the video “the smoking gun,” proving the self-defense allegation is not true. “I think the video speaks for itself. You don’t see any broken nose. You don’t see any blood on his head. You don’t see any stuff on the back of his clothes.” “You have to ask why did this police chief, state attorney and now this acting police chief conspire to protect George Zimmerman for killing this unarmed teenager?” A neighborhood watch volunteer, Zimmerman was released without being charged. The Trayvon Martin case has since become a national obsession. Richard Kurtz, the funeral director who prepared Martin’s body, was asked if there were any signs on his hands that the victim had punched someone. “The only thing that I was able to see was the gunshot wound,” Kurtz told MSNBC. “I could not see evidence like he had been punching somebody.” “It just did not add up to me.” The self-defense claim clearly deserves scrutiny, but whether this is sufficient proof that there was no struggle is something investigators must determine.
‘No one’s exempt from people probing into your life once you get into the game,’ Nasty Nas tells ‘RapFix Live.’ By Rebecca Thomas, with reporting by Sway Calloway Nas on “RapFix Live” Photo: Natasha Chandel/ MTV News They were rap’s royal couple. Nas and Kelis jumped the broom in 2005 after a courtship that included video cameos and public declarations of love. But the split between the rap legend and his R&B wife four years later was just as public and all too ugly. As the expectant “Milkshake” singer accused her husband of abandoning her mid-pregnancy in legal filings, allegations of infidelity burned up the blogs. Things got “crazy,” the pride of Queensbridge, New York, said on Wednesday’s “RapFix Live.” The divorce thrust Nas into the New York tabloids, where he was alternately painted as the victim of a gold-digging star and a cheater who callously hid the ATM cards with a baby on the way. Having stayed mostly mum over the years, Nas was ready to tell Sway his side. ”Life is crazy,” the famously private MC said. “I [wound] up paying more money to baby mommas than what some of my rap brothers and sistren make.” At the time, several outlets reported that Kelis was seeking about $45,000 a month in child and spousal support from the father of two, daughter Destiny from a previous relationship and son Knight with the “Bossy” singer. The figure was formally reduced last year by a court to a $25,000 month, but the scrutiny left Nas scarred. “I’ve always been away from too much limelight and that right there put me in your — no one’s exempt from people probing into your life once you get into the game,” he conceded. “So [the divorce] put a lot of my business out there, man. People weren’t thinking I was making that kind of money, and now they knew.” The handsome single rapper — a record number of MTV’s female staffers suddenly turned up on set this week — paused to reflect on what advice he’d give to a newly engaged couple. He looked away, the “God’s Son” tattoo on his neck visible for a split second, before responding. ”Man, if you’re happy,” he sighed and then paused again. “Love is a beast. Hold on, be prepared for any way it may go, and be honest.” Nas’ tax woes have also made the front page, but he declined to discuss the topic, promising instead to confront it on Life Is Good. Of course, it’s been more than four years since Nasty Nas dropped a solo full-length. And the multiplatinum lyrical legend has teased fans with spotty output. Still, the 39-year-old has impressed with recent features like Rick Ross’ “Triple Beam Dreams” and tracks like this month’s dancehall-flavored “The Don,” which managed to slay rap purists and trend on Twitter. But more important, these were signals that a release might be in the offing. All this anticipation for a rapper who was just out of his teens when he dropped his seminal debut, Illmatic, back in 1994. We’d say life is pretty good for Nas. Fox News’ Geraldo Rivera stunned viewers with remarks about the Trayvon Martin case , saying that by wearing a hooded sweatshirt, the slain teen made himself a target. Martin, the 14-year-old candy-carrying, hoodie-wearing African-American boy, was shot and killed by George Zimmerman, a Sanford, Fla., neighborhood watch captain. He was walking home from a 7-Eleven and was unarmed. Zimmerman, who claimed self defense, has not been charged, though a grand jury will hear the case . Martin supporters participated in a “Million Hoodie March” to protest Zimmerman’s freedom. But the hoodie has taken on new meaning thanks to Geraldo. Geraldo Rivera on Trayvon Martin “When you see a kid walking down the street, particularly dark-skinned kid like my son Cruz – who I constantly yelled at when he was going out wearing a damn hoodie or those pants around his ankles, ‘Take that hood off!'” Rivera said on Fox & Friends. “People look at you, and what’s the instant identification, what’s the instant association? It’s those crime-scene surveillance tapes.” “Every time you see someone stickin’ up a 7-Eleven, the kid’s wearing a hoodie,” Rivera continued. “Every time you see a mugging on a surveillance camera or they get that old lady in the alcove, it’s a kid wearing a hoodie.” “You have to recognize that this whole stylizing yourself as a ‘gangsta’ … You’re gonna be a gangsta wannabe? Well, people are going to perceive you as a menace. That’s just what happens. It is an instant reflexive action.” The negative reaction to this was fast and furious. Many viewers claimed this was a call for a dress code for minorities, or equivalent to saying women who wear revealing clothes are asking to be raped. Questlove sent a long series of Tweets at Rivera, including: “sorry @GeraldoRivera, what i gotta stroll around rocking a tux 24 7 so i can put others who are ignorant at ease? what about the OTHER side of that coin?” With more brevity but just as much furor, Parks & Recreation star Aziz Ansari said, “It’s really appropriate to tweet this any day, but seriously, F–k you Geraldo.” Rivera followed up on Twitter, defending his position: “My own son just wrote to say he’s ashamed of my position re hoodies – still I feel parents must do whatever they can to keep their kids safe,” he wrote. “Its not blaming the victim Its common sense-look like a gangsta&some armed schmuck will take you at your word… Its sad that I have to be the one reminding minority parents of the risk that comes with being a kid of color in America.” Do you agree with Geraldo’s comments on Trayvon Martin?
Justice for a Black Man killed by a white teen, in Mississippi ? We didn’t think it was possible, but Wednesday a Judge lay into 19-year-old Deryl Dedmon over his brutal killing of 47-year-old James Craig Anderson: A white teenager pleaded guilty to murder and a hate crime Wednesday for running over a black man with his pickup truck in a killing a judge called a stain on Mississippi that will take years to fade. Deryl Dedmon, 19, apologized to the victim’s family before he received two life sentences for the June 26 death of James Craig Anderson, a 47-year-old car plant worker who loved to sing in his church choir and was remembered for his sense of humor. Dedmon, a slight, blonde man wearing a blue jumpsuit, looked down as prosecutors described the killing. Dedmon admitted that he and a group of white teens were partying in Puckett, a small town outside the capital city, when he suggested they find a black man to harass and went to Jackson because of its majority-black population. They found Anderson before dawn outside a hotel. He was beaten before Dedmon ran over him. Prosecutors said Dedmon and others had targeted blacks for harassment before, usually homeless or drunk people who weren’t likely to report it to police. The victim’s sister, Barbara Anderson Young, fought back tears when she addressed the court. “My brother Craig would give you the shirt off of his back. Because of my brother, James Craig Anderson, our lives were richer, with love, respect and a love of God,” she said. “We, the Anderson family, are praying for racial reconciliation not just in Mississippi but all over this land and country. We are praying for the defendant, Dedmon, and his family that they find peace.” When it was his turn to speak, Dedmon’s shackles rattled as he turned and faced the Anderson family. “I am sincerely sorry. I do take full responsibility for my actions on that night. I pray for y’all’s family every day … and that God will soften your hearts to forgive me,” Dedmon said. Members of both families, sitting on opposite sides of a wooden court bench, wiped away tears. “I was young. I was dumb. I was ignorant … I was not raised the way that I acted that night. I was raised in a godly house. As I stand before you today, I am a changed man. I am a godly man. God has showed me to see no colors. God showed me that we are all made in the image of God so we are all based on the same thing … I do not ask y’all to forget, but I do ask y’all to forgive.” Hinds County Circuit Judge Jeff Weill Sr. had the last word. “Your prejudice has brought shame upon you and placed a great stain on the state of Mississippi. Whatever excuse you may offer for what you have done, forget that. There’s no excuse that you can offer for the family of Mr. Anderson or to your fellow Mississippians who have to try to reconcile the horrible damage you have caused,” Weill said. Weill recalled the 1964 killings of three civil rights workers who were murdered and buried in an earthen dam in a rural area in what became known as “Mississippi Burning.” “All the hard work we have done to move our state forward from that earthen dam in Neshoba County to here has been stained by you. A stain that will take years to fade,” the judge said. The case received widespread attention after a video of Anderson’s death was obtained by news organizations. The video, taken by a hotel surveillance camera, shows a green Ford truck back up in the hotel parking lot, then lunge forward. Anderson’s shirt is illuminated in the headlights before he disappears under the vehicle. Police said Dedmon was driving the truck and later bragged that he ran over Anderson, using a racial slur to describe him. Dedmon was indicted for capital murder, which in Mississippi carries a sentence of death or life in prison without parole, but District Attorney Robert Shuler Smith said prosecutors couldn’t have gotten a conviction. For capital murder, there must be an underlying offense, which had been robbery. Smith said that the investigation revealed that the group did not take Anderson’s wallet, as investigators first believed. Anderson’s family also asked prosecutors not to pursue the death penalty, saying they oppose it. They have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against seven teens, including two young girls who were allegedly in the truck with Dedmon. One of the teens, John Aaron Rice, is charged with simple assault in the case. Authorities said he left the scene in another vehicle before Anderson was killed. Rice has pleaded not guilty and is free on a $5,000 bond. The FBI has been investigating the case, too, and the judge told Dedmon that his guilty plea in state court would not prevent him from facing federal charges. Smith said after the hearing there may be additional arrests and promised more details at a news conference Thursday. Smith said this is the first hate crime prosecution in Mississippi that he could find. “This guilty plea is just the beginning,” Smith said. So sad. It sounds like they are going to prosecute him to the full extent of the law. Even if they can’t do more than give him another life sentence it is important that he be hit with every charge — especially in the state of Mississippi where so many black men lost their lives only to never receive justice. Apparently Robert Downey Jr made a statement about Hayden Panettiere being the victim of a Child Prostitution ring when she was a kid. You know just another hollywood child dragged into the dark perverted consequence free world of the rich and famous….where pedophiles, addicts and freaks roam free….as the world around them worship them…not knowing how fucked up money can make a motherfucker…. This is what he said…or apparently said…I stopped listening to the story when I read Hayden was a child prostitute…..not cuz I love child prostitutes…but cuz that means she’s got lots of practice in fucking…and coupled with her disability, possibly caused by her childhood sex ring trauma, you know shit stunted her growth….she’s all of a sudden far more fun to me…albeit damaged…but all bitches are damaged! Leslie P. is not just a poor victim in this trainwreck. Trust me. She’s at LEAST 50% responsible (if not more) for encouraging, enabling, and at times even participating in her hubby’s twisted fucking life. Leslie’s kinks cross the line into depravity, illegality, and inhuman sickness. As in: Ryan ONeal, John Phillips, Tish Cyrus, and Dan Schnieder territory. (Far worse than Pimpa Joe Simpson!) She’s not just had chances to stop it or walk away with the kids, but she elected to not protect her kids – and give in to the hedonistic sickness in her bedroom (all for her own greed). You think Dina Lohan is bad? Leslie’s guilt is compounded by trying to save her daughter’s “IMAGE” (so as not affect her earning potential); and hoovering her own mountain of drugs, booze, fame, and fucking (of everything with legs)…Leslie IS as bad as her hubby – maybe worse because she KNEW it was wrong but didn’t stop it and at times fueling it. It’s easy to argue that Hayden is forever a victim which drives her own insane life choices – and I’m not a psychologist – but she has taken it further into becoming a willing perpetuator of it (and saying she loves it). Not just the physical and mental violence she enjoys, but her insatiable appetite for the most bizarre shit she can indulge in to “top” herself. She was offered help by some who genuinely cared for her and worried for her. She mocked them and tore off on her own streak. Now? She craves it and considers nothing taboo. NOTHING! Just ask Mario Lopez. What it comes down to is that we all need to do what we gotta do to get a head…even if that means taking producers in our mouth and/or child vaginas… Either way….good story….who cares….it doesn’t matter….hollywood is fucked, rich people are fucked…we’re all fucked. I have no exclusive on this….I just have old bikini pics of her and her mom… And her and her Russian monster cock she used to fuck….
