Following several days of controversy over her decision to sing the national anthem prior to the Super Bowl between the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams, Gladys Knight stood around midfield and belted out the country's theme song. We’ve been singing it forever, but this time I would hope that [people] will feel it so deeply that it will lift them to a higher place. We've all known for a long time now that something is not right with David Eason. Well-adjusted people just don't behave the way he does. As his time in the Teen Mom spotlight drags on, he keeps getting worse and worse, and there really seems to be no limit for how low he can go. Many fans of the show have expressed concerns that one of the issues with him is that he's a drug user, though we've seen little evidence of that. Until now, that is. 1. The Biggest Downward Spiral Before he got with Jenelle, he was arrested several times for things like DUIs, breaking and entering, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was even once jailed with her first husband, Courtland Rogers! 3. Accusations He was also accused of domestic violence by his ex-girlfriend, who claimed in court documents that he pushed her around and threatened to kill her while she was pregnant with their son. 4. Heartbreaking Her story was so sad that a judge granted a restraining order against David for her and their son, which was only recently lifted. 5. So Sad And the abuse accusations have obviously continued — just a few months ago, Jenelle called 911 for help after David allegedly pinned her to the ground so hard she thought he’d broken her collarbone. 6. Jussie Smollett took to the stage on Saturday night for the first time since he was savagely assaulted just days before . And he had something to say before launching into his set. “I am not fully healed yet, but I’m going to, and I’m gonna stand strong with ya’ll,” the actor/singer said during a concert at the Troubadour club on the Sunset Strip. Referencing the heinous attack, Smollett added: “I had to be here tonight, y’all. I couldn’t let those motherf-ckers win. So I will always stand for love. “I will never stand for anything other than that. Regardless of what anyone else says, I will only stand for love and I hope that you all stand with me.” Smollett was taken by surprise by two assailants around 2 a.m. last Tuesday on his way back from Subway. These attackers tied a rope around his neck and poured bleach all over him, committing an obvious hate crime against someone who is African-American and openly gay. Speaking to the audience last night, Smollett actually clarified a few details around the incident. He said that he was driven to see a doctor but was not hospitalized… suffered bruises but did not break any ribs…and was cleared by his physicians to perform this weekend. “And above all, I fought the f-ck back,” he said, drawing loud cheers. “I’m the gay Tupac.” Folks all over Hollywood have sent Smollett their best wishes, while President Donald Trump did not address the alleged fact that the suspects screamed to Smollett that he’s in “MAGA country.” But the Commander-in-Chief did say the following about the attack on the Empire star: “That I can tell you is horrible. I’ve seen it. Last night. It’s horrible. The tragic saga of Artie Lange took another sad turn today when the troubled comic was arrested after violating his probation by failing a court-ordered drug test. According to TMZ, Lange tested positive for cocaine and morphine and was taken into custody following a court appearance in Essex County, New Jersey on Wednesday afternoon. Lange’s long battle with substance abuse has been well documented, and sadly, his brushes with the law have become more frequent in recent years. In 2017, Lange pled guilty to heroin possession , and it seems he’s been caught in a downward spiral ever since. In December of 2018, Lange’s fans and loved ones experienced a glimmer of hope when the 50-year-old announced that he had completed in-patient rehab and entered a long-term outpatient treatment program. The comic even vowed to use his talents to help others by doing one show a month for which all proceeds would go to toward helping a fellow addict attend rehab. “Guys I will tweet about this once. Today in court they drug tested me,” a hopeful Lange tweeted on December 14. “For the last decade or more they’d have found both Heroin and Cocaine. With the help of in my eyes a miracle legal medication called Suboxen I tested negative for Heroin. I haven’t used Heroin in 41 days…” Unfortunately, that optimism proved to be short-lived. Lange’s reps confirmed last night that the comic has been forced to cancel his upcoming shows following a bad day in court. “Excuse any show advertisements.. starting today, Artie will be undergoing a long term treatment program, he loves and respects his fans,” read a tweet from Lange’s account. “Updates coming soon.. and it’s time – TeamLange” Today, the account tweeted that Lange is being held without bail, but adds that that’s not necessarily a bad thing: “The comments made by Arties lawyer have been taken out of context.. Artie was not arrested and sent to jail,” the tweet read. “They are holding him a few days to sober up before transferring him to a long term treatment facility, Artie needs us to be with him, not against him- TeamLange” As many have pointed out, the claim that Lange has not been sent to jail is somewhat meaningless, as he’s sure to be sent to a holding center once he’s fully detoxed. Back in June of 2018, Lange predicted that drug court and four years of probation may prove to be too much for him: “The judge was very fair! But 4 yrs probation is a long time. I am gonna try my best,” Lange tweeted. “If I end up in jail for yrs let my life be a lesson to you kids battling Heroin. I had everything! And more. I traded it for powder. Don’t make that mistake. The loved ones of Jussie Smollett have released their first statement since the Empire actor was savagely beaten for being a gay African-American . And they appear to have taken a shot at President Donald Trump in the process. “In the early hours of Tuesday morning, our beloved son and brother, Jussie, was the victim of a violent and unprovoked attack,” the family said to open its message, adding: “We want to be clear, this was a racial and homophobic hate crime. Jussie has told the police everything from the very beginning. His story has never changed, and we are hopeful they will find these men and bring them to justice.” According to Smollett, he was attacked by two men who hurled racial and homophobic epithets in his direction. The men also screamed that he was in “MAGA country.” They then punched and kicked Smollett, fracturing his ribs, prior to tying a rope around his neck and pouring bleach all over him. As many have noted, this really was the equivalent of a modern-day lynching. This is how the statement continued: Our family thanks everyone for their prayers and the huge amount of love he has received. We are thankful to our village for your immense support during this trying time. We are so grateful that God saw him through this cowardly attack alive. Jussie is a warrior whose light cannot be dimmed. We want people to understand these targeted hate crimes are happening to our sisters, brothers and our gender non-conforming siblings, many who reside within the intersection of multiple identities, on a monthly, weekly, and sometimes even daily basis all across our country. Oftentimes ending fatally, these are inhumane acts of domestic terrorism and they should be treated as such. They will continue to occur until we hold each other accountable. As far as we know at the moment, Smollett is in stable condition. Moreover, we now have photos of the two suspects . Because the assailants referenced “MAGA,” the shorthand for President Trump’s slogan of Make America Great Again, many folks had been waiting for Trump to address the awful incident. He finally did so on Thursday afternoon. “That I can tell you is horrible,” Trump says when asked about it in the following video. “I’ve seen it. Last night. It’s horrible. Doesn’t get worse.” He does not, however, say anything specific about the “MAGA” taunt directed at Smollett. The Real Housewives of New Jersey is not the best series in the franchise. There, we said it. However, the show does pack a punch when it comes to the fights between the ladies, and Wednesday’s installment gave us a fight that even Teresa Giudice was probably proud of. Hell, it found Jennifer Aydin breaking a win glass and threatening to stab Melissa Gorga. Oh yes, it was one for the books, and it’s time to unpack what went down. All of the ladies were engaged in yet another brutal argument, and insults were being hurled as patrons of the restaurant looked on in horror. “If I throw a f***ing glass you’re gonna know it,” Jennifer screamed, as she smashed a wine glass and held it up at Melissa. “You’ve got the wrong f***ing girl, I’m telling you that,” said Melissa who was ready for a fight with her new enemy. Teresa then screamed “No, no, no” as the screen faded. Oh yes, we were left on a cliffhanger of epic proportions. But how did we get to this point? Let’s run down what came before it. The two women who were friends before the incident only started arguing when Melissa thought Jennifer threw wine at her when their castmates were fighting earlier. Danielle and Margaret were the ones to start fighting. They’ve been at it for weeks, and while it’s draining, it’s providing the show with some much-needed drama. Always the one to cross lines as though they are going out of fashion, Danielle started to bash Margaret’s relationship with her kids. “If you spent a little time with your kids maybe they’d still be here – maybe you’d see your grandkids and maybe, just maybe, you’d have a relationship with them,” Danielle yelled across the table, but Melissa butted in: “Kids are off limits, Danielle!” Margaret did not let that one lie, and called Danielle “an old dog with no new tricks,” but Danielle continued to stick the knife in, yelling: “They are not around you – get over it!” What happened next was Margaret losing her cool, so she doused Danielle with her glass of wine as though she would explode like a demon. “You f***ing c***,” retorted Danielle as her makeup ran down her face, and she had to be restrained by a security guard. Poor Danielle was only trying to emerge from the “friend of a housewife” status, and we think she made a good attempt. “She is vile. She’s dead to me. I’m done with this,” Margaret muttered as she walked off. “There’s an unwritten law in this group: You do not talk about people’s children,” Dolores Catania quipped of the whole scenario. “Had Danielle talked about my children she would have no teeth left. When kids come into the picture, it’s no holds barred,” Dolores continued. Then there was Jennifer and Margaret, who brought their New Jersey beef on vacation. The fight was apparently about the necklace the housewives bought for Teresa. “You know what Margaret, you’re used to an environment of cheating. Your mother f***ed someone for 15 years – I get it!” Jen screamed as the ladies locked horns again. “That’s why your husband sleeps in the f***ing poolhouse,” Margaret clapped back. Jen maintained that her relationship was fine and that her husband could sleep wherever he wanted. “I know, whether it’s in his girlfriend’s bed or not,” said Margaret with an evil grin, adding: “Word on the street.” Jen had enough and exited the table, but not before screeching: “Shut the f*** up with that!” “I know nothing about your marriage. I said that to hurt you,” Margaret admitted when Jen returned. “I said things to hurt you too,” Jen revealed in a somewhat sincere moment. “We’re just both p***ed off.” Elsewhere on this eventful installment, Teresa aired her thoughts on Joe’s return from prison. “I’ll be excited when he’s home. He said, ”I’m gonna be so far up your a** – I’m gonna do everything with you,’; and I’m like, ‘Oh no!'”,’ she laughed. “It’s also nerve-wracking because I am more independent now. And If I don’t like something – even my dad says, ‘If they don’t do what you say, tell them to go f*** themselves.’ When he comes home, then we’ll see how it is. “Obviously, I know I’m a different person. I think he’s definitely gonna be a different person,” Teresa added. Melissa had her own two cents to share on the whole mess that is Teresa’s marriage. “Obviously, we’re all waiting and hopeful that they’ll all be together as a family again very soon.
