Last month, the Bachelor in Paradise finale was marred by a cheating scandal . Jenna Cooper and Jordan Kimball won … and then all hell broke loose. Alleged texts say that Jenna was cheating, but she swears that she’s a victim of fraud — and says she can prove it. Now, she’s being defended by none other than Bachelor Winner Lauren Burnham. So, remember how Bekah Martinez told the world that most of the women from The Bachelor had still kept in touch? Well, several women from Arie’s season, including Lauren Burnham, Jaqueline Turmbull, and Sienne Flemming, got together for a slumber party. (Yes, these women had all dated Arie, yes, Lauren is his fiancee, and yes, Arie was apparently also there) One of Arie’s exes who was present was Jenna Cooper, who was eliminated in week 6 of the season. These women are friends, so the gathering makes sense — except to fans who think that Jenna is some sort of snake in the grass. A fan commented on Instagram, writing: “Anyone else think it’s so shady that they’re all hanging out with Jenna?” The comment concludes: “after she proved how terrible of a human she is?” If you’re wondering wait, when did she “prove” she’s terrible? … you are not alone. “No spewing hate here, love,” Lauren Burnham replied to the fan’s comment. “There are two sides to every story,” Lauren reminds the commenter. “And,” Lauren says. “The only evidence I know of backs the fact that Jenna did not do what she’s being accused of.” “What’s the evidence?” a curious fan demands to know. Lauren clearly has a healthy set of boundaries (for a Bachelor star, anyway), because she doesn’t cough up the goods. “That’s for her to release,” Lauren replies. She is absolutely correct — we’ll get into what that evidence may be in just a moment. “It should be happening very soon,” Lauren teases. A lot of fans would be very happy to see solid proof instead of relying upon speculation. Lauren reminds fans that she is not exactly the type to just decide who is innocent and who is guilty all willy-nilly. “I am not one to jump on the bandwagon and take a side without solid evidence,” Lauren affirms. “I can tell you that her story is very compelling,” Lauren adds. “And she has professional proof.” She then offers a worde of warning for fans who leapt to conclusions when this alleged cheating scandal first broke. Lauren suggests: “I would just advise not to be so quick to publicly state opinions without knowing the whole story.” Jenna was accused of cheating after text messages were published which purportedly showed that Jenna was cheating on Jordan Kimball. Those same texts indicated that she was planning on dumping him, which would have been humiliating after his Bachelor in Paradise proposal. However, Jenna has insisted that, though the texts emulate her writing style, she didn’t write them. She has also taken the extra step of hiring an attorney in her quest to clear her name. Jenna put her phone through a forensic program to prove that she has never sent any texts of the sort. (Such a program would capture even deleted text messages) It is probably that forensic analysis to which Lauren is referring. However, there may be more. Jenna’s own attorneys have expressed the belief that Jordan himself may have fabricated the texts. It is possible that this theory, expressed in a private email to him that Jordan then made public , was intended as a negotiating tactic or a bluff. But it is also possible that Jenna’s attorneys have uncovered further evidence — of Jenna’s innocence or even of Jordan’s alleged guilt. If you’re a fan of the acclaimed Bravo cooking competition Top Chef , then you may have already heard the tragic news that beloved former contestant Fatima Ali has been diagnosed with terminal cancer . Ali revealed her diagnosis Tuesday in a heartbreaking essay published by Bon Appetit. “My oncologist has told me that I have a year to live, with or without the new chemotherapy regimen,” Ali wrote. “I was looking forward to being 30, flirty, and thriving. Guess I have to step it up on the flirting. I have no time to lose.” “I am desperate to overload my senses in the coming months, making reservations at the world’s best restaurants, reaching out to past lovers and friends, and smothering my family, giving them the time that I so selfishly guarded before.” Displaying the trademark wit that made her a fan favorite during her time on the show, Ali added: “I was looking forward to being 30, flirty and thriving. Guess I have to step it up on the flirting. I have no time to lose.” In the hours after Chef Fatima’s article was published, thousands offered words of gratitude and support on social media, including her Top Chef co-stars: “This is my friend, she is courage, strength and she wrote a piece almost as beautiful as she is, link is in my bio please read and share #teamfati,” wrote Top Chef Season 15 champion Joe Flamm. “Can’t even begin to say how devastated I am to hear this news, it really hit me hard! No one truly can understand the bond created through @bravotopchef we’ve become a close knit family very quickly,” fellow chef Bruce Kalman wrote. “I’m so inspired by @cheffati bravery and positive outlook on this situation. Fatima Ali: Top Chef Offer Support “The deep connection and love we all have for each other, for better or worse, is unrivaled. Life is too short and it’s time we all appreciated everyone and everything in our lives.” Just days before she revealed that her illness had reached the terminal stage, Ali posted the above video of her co-stars wishing her well from an event in Connecticut that she had been unable to attend. We hope Fatima finds comfort in knowing that she will receive such love and support in her final days — and joy in knowing that she’s been an inspiration to so many.
Code-switching and police brutality are two realities that too many Black Males are forced to face. In the upcoming movie, The Hate U Give a teenaged girl (Amandla Stenberg) witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend (Algee Smith) at the hands of a police officer. These issues are at the center of the film. The film’s young stars Algee Smith, Lamar Johnson, and TJ Wright, who play Stenburg’s brothers in the film, visited Studio One to talk about how they deal with code-switching between race and class and the subject of police brutality in their personal and professional lives. The Hate U Give, which stars Amandla Stenberg, Regina Hall, Russell Hornsby and also features Common, Anthony Mackie, and Issa Rae, is in theaters nationwide on October 19th. Another day, another prejudiced mayo packet being needlessly suspicious of a black person simply minding their business and living life. This time, it went down in Marietta, GA, and the man in “question” was just babysitting his friends’ kids. Corey Lewis caught the entire incident on his Facebook Live. The woman approached him and the kids while they were shopping together in Wal Mart, and repeatedly requested to talk to the kids and ask them if they were okay separately. When Lewis refused, the woman tracked them all the way back to his home and called police to further “investigate” the kids’ wellbeing. SMH. It’s not uncommon for Hollywood A-listers to be described as the American equivalent of royalty. But we’re guessing that ever since Meghan Markle married Prince Harry , the Royals have become acutely aware that the chasm of difference between Tinsel Town and Buckingham Palace is about as wide as a continent and an ocean combined. Mind you, aside from the occasional breach in royal protocol , Meghan has been everything the Queen could have dreamed of and more. Suffice it to say, they suck, and they’ve repeatedly demonstrated their willingness to try and destroy her life for fun and profit. Just as opportunistic but far less detestable, however, is Meghan’s nephew Tyler Dooley. The son of Meghan’s idiot half-brother Thomas Markle Jr., Tyler also descended on London in order to take advantage of the media circus surrounding the royal wedding, but his intentions were more … high-minded. Dude was just there to lend some support and promote his eponymous weed strain. Fortunately for Tyler, he’ll have plenty of opportunities to sing the praises of “Markle Sparkle” cannabis thanks to his role on a new British reality show entitled The Royal World . “English royals and aristocrats who will come together for one summer in the English countryside to live like the monarchs and super elite all while cameras are rolling,” reads a press release promoting the series. Tyler introduces himself to Royal World viewers in the clip below. Tyler Dooley Joins The Royal World “I didn’t watch the royal wedding,” Tyler admits. “I went over there. I was in London to support my Aunt Meghan,” he continues. “Honestly, with the controversy that’s happened with my family, all I wanted to do was just show my support.” Tyler cautions the audience not to be sucked in by the stereotype of the lazy stoner, claiming that he works “seven days a week” on his budding business, which is called — we sh-t you not — Royally Grown. Anyway, we might be more inclined to believe he’s a type-A go-getter if “Tyler Dooley” didn’t sound like the stoner sidekick in a ’90s high school comedy. But who knows? A brawl outside the ring ensued shortly after the match was called, and word is it was because a racial slur was hurled. Reports TMZ Sports : Conor McGregor’s teammate, Dillon Danis, called Khabib Nurmagomedov a “f**king Muslim rat” during the main event at UFC 229 — and that’s what set him off … a ringside witness tells TMZ Sports. We spoke with a fan who was sitting in spitting distance from Danis during the fight — and we’re told Danis was running his mouth throughout most of the fight. There was a moment between the 2nd and 3rd rounds when Khabib shot a death stare right at Dillon, according to our witness who says it was obvious Khabib heard at least some of the insults. But, we’re told the final straw was the Muslim insult that Danis hurled toward the end of the fight. Khabib threw his mouthpiece at Dillon and then jumped out of the cage to attack him in the stands.
