However, all of that almost got overshadowed by one Fiji water employee who seemed to be at the right place at the right time on multiple occasions. Kelleth Cuthbert thought she was just doing her job when she made Fiji bottles available to Golden Globes guests on the red carpet. However, because she was so close to celebrities, the cameras caught her in the background for a ton of red carpet photos… And she looked fabulous. It doesn’t matter where you stand, you’re in the crossfire of every shot,” Cuthbert told People. “You’ve gotta have good face, at least, if you’re gonna be hovering in the background frequently.” And good face Cuthbert had! Her photos with celebs went viral on Twitter that very night. But this isn’t the first time photobombing took center stage during the awards season. Everyone from Lupita Nyong’o to Chance the Rapper have fell victim to photobombing and the results were nothing short of hilarious. Happy New Year! Global Grind is back with episode 24 of The Rewind , the very first episode of the year, and we’re doing what we always do — giving you your much-needed dose of recap reality. Every week we revisit some of the pop culture trends, movies, viral moments and music from the week before and give our hot takes. Our experts Landon Levarius and DJ Franchise share their opinions, sprinkle in some facts and then when it’s all over and done with, provide a rating of 1 to 10. We listen to the songs, watch the movies, scour the internet, and do the hard work so you don’t have to. Without further adieu, let’s jump into this week’s episode. This week DJ Franchise and Landon Levarius discuss Tekashi 6ix9ine’s latest release, Dummy Boy . The debut album was originally slated to drop on November 23, 2018 but when Tekashi was arrested on a slew of felony charges, the release was postponed. However, the album ended up leaking on Tekashi’s website anyway and in a rush to offset the damage being done by the leak, Tekashi’s team released the album on November 27, 2018, four days after its initial release date. Dummy Boy featured the tracks “Tati” featuring DJ Spinking, “Fefe” featuring Nicki Minaj, “Bebe” featuring Anuel AA and “Stoopid” featuring Bobby Shmurda. It debuted on the US Billboard 200 with 66,000 album-equivalent units, of which 10,000 were pure album sales. It’s still up for debate whether it was the number one album or if it was number two behind Travis Scott’s Astroworld . DJ Franchise and Landon Levarius weighed in on Tekashi 6ix9ine’s debut effort after giving it about a month to sink in. Did they think it was worth copping? For Landon, not at all. The movie is about six strangers who travel to a mysterious building to take part in an escape room game where they’re asked to solve a series of puzzles to win $1 million. However, things become quite dangerous when what starts out as seemingly innocent fun soon turns into a living nightmare as each room becomes an elaborate trap that’s part of a sadistic game of life or death. Netflix’s hit film Bird Box took viewers and Twitter by storm and spawned hilarious memes . Unfortunately, it also inspired the Bird Box Challenge, in which people film themselves blindfolded. This is so dangerous that Netflix has put out a PSA begging people to not deliberately blind themselves. Bird Box was a hit on Netflix during this holiday season. It was thrilling and compelling and Sandra Bullock is, as always, an inspired casting choice. Unfortunately, there is such a thing as too much of a good thing, as evidenced by people participating in the “Bird Box Challenge.” In the film, the characters must wear blindfolds most of the time in order to avoid being driven to kill themselves by violent apparitions. Some Netflix viewers with too much time on their hands decided to “challenge” themselves to navigate while blindfolded. Whether it’s in their homes or outdoors, the results tend to be either boring, messy, or dangerous. Putting on a blindfold does not magically transform you into the titular character of Daredevil . In fact, outside of the bedroom, it usually just leads to injuries. This is so bad that Netflix themselves have stepped in on social media. In a tweet on Wednesday, Netflix implored their followers to let this trend die as quickly as it sprang into being. “Can’t believe I have to say this,” the tweet begins. “But: PLEASE DO NOT HURT YOURSELVES WITH THIS BIRD BOX CHALLENGE.” “We don’t know how this started,” Netflix says. “And we appreciate the love,” “But Boy and Girl have just one wish for 2019,” the tweet reads. Netflix concludes: “and it is that you not end up in the hospital due to memes.” That’s a pretty good wish. Unlike actual memes, which involve photos and videos and are usually harmless, challenge culture can be dangerous. Popular on video-sharing sites and especially on YouTube, people vie for social media clout by emulating others. The pressure to make your video not only watchable but sensational — in the hopes of going viral — can be dangerous. Participants — especially teens, but also grown-ass adults — can and do endanger themselves in their desperate effort for clicks. Viral fame can transform someone’s life, so they’re willing to risk it all. But you know what else can change your life? A life-altering injury . It’s right there in the name. This of course brings to mind a challenge that was passed around in January of 2018. Harmless memes shared on social media about forbidden snacks — household items that people had resisted eating as children — spawned a challenge. The Tide Pod Challenge was mostly an inflated joke, as people would edit videos to make it appear that they ate laundry detergent. There were people who, perhaps not realizing that the videos were edited, were not in on the joke. A few people tried to earn social media clout by actually putting tide pods into their mouths. Though only a handful of people genuinely participated, we would remind members of the TGH Nation: please do not ingest bleach. Just as you would not ingest dish soap in the hopes of racking up YouTube views, please do not participate in the Bird Box challenge. We don’t know how many people are actually doing it and how many are filming themselves acting out rehearsed blunders. Regardless, actually depriving yourself of eyesight for fun is just a recipe for disaster. Head injuries are no joke. And quite frankly, neither is a stubbed toe. It’s a new year. But it’s the same old Louis C.K. Actually, that’s not even accurate: it’s a somewhat different Louis C.K. than the one who came across as mostly harmless and well-intentioned before he was outed as a serial and offensive masturbator . As you very likely have read about by now, leaked audio of a recent stand-up set by the controversial comedian went viral late last week. It featured C.K. making fun of non-binary individuals who wish to be referred to by the pronouns “they” or “them,” and it also featured the star mocking survivors of that school shooting in Parkland, Florida . A quick and horrifying refresher : On February 14, 2018, a gunman opened fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, murdering seventeen students and staff members and injuring seventeen others. In the wake of this tragedy, a handful of the students who survived have spoken out passionately about the country’s need for more strict gun control legislation. And C.K. apparently finds this appalling. “Testify in front of Congress, these kids, what the f-ck? What are you doing?” says C.K. in this audio clip , adding in a very strange attempt to be funny: “Cause you went to a high school where kids got shot, why does that mean I have to listen to you? Why does that make you interesting? “You didn’t get shot. You pushed some fat kid in the way and now I gotta listen to you talking?” The backlash to this lame joke was swift and savage, with many associated with the Parkland massacre speaking out on social media. “It’s a shame when you sink so low that your comeback plan is to make fun of school shooting survivors for speaking out,” Stoneman Douglas graduate Ryan Deitsch said on Twitter. He later urged folks to stop discussing this subject in order to rob C.K. of the publicity: “While I appreciate members of the press for doing their duties, I & hopefully others will decline to speak more on this subject. “This will only grant further attention to an individual whose deplorability belongs left behind as we all ascend into a brighter new year.” For a very understandable reason, however, Fred Guttenberg could not follow this advice. Having lost his 14-year-old daughter, Jamie, in the attack, Guttenberg addressed C.K. directly with a pointed message: “To anyone who knows Louis CK, please deliver this message for me. My daughter was killed in the Parkland shooting. “My son ran from the bullets. My wife and I deal with loss everyday. Why don’t you come to my house and try out your new pathetic jokes?” Elsewhere in his set, C.K. wondered why teenagers these days aren’t just getting drunk and partying and simply relaxing and having fun, just like they did in his day. Parkland survivor Kyra Parrow has the perfect response to this question. Although taking jello shots & eating mushrooms might have been ideal for you when you were 18, that is not the luxury that we have after having to see our friends and classmates in caskets because of preventable gun violence.
Welp, that didn't take long. Chrissy Teigen just created the first viral moment of 2019. And she did it when the new year was merely a second old. Teigen appeared on NBC’s New Year’s Eve telecast on Monday evening, where she counted down to the new year with Saturday Night Live star Leslie Jones and Today‘s Carson Daly. Typically, we'd be wondering why on earth a single person would ever go down to Times Square to watch the ball drop in person around this time. However, instead of shaking our heads over the thousands of revelers in the background of the clip featured here, we're laughing our rear ends off over what transpired between Teigen and Jones. You see, when the hilarious social media user and mother of two went in to hug Jones … she was accidentally smacked in the face by Leslie's umbrella. “I'm okay!” Teigen joked on Twitter after a follower shared video from the unexpected moment, adding: “7am. Heading back out to Time's Square to find my eyeball.” Jones, who is also an expert user of the Twitter machine, chimed in as follows: “Ugh I can't believe I hit @ChrissyTeigen in face!! Lordt!! I love you boo!! So Sorry. #ThatsWhyIHateUmbrellas.” Perhaps, however, this moment was actually planned in order to serve as a distraction from the mini controversy Teigen stirred up when she mentioned vaginal steaming on the show. Yes, vaginal steaming. In response, some viewers complained that the subject wasn’t appropriate for a telecast many were watching with they’re young kids. Wrote one individual, for example: “Maybe I’m old but not that old. Watching NBC with my 12 year old 20 min before the ball drops and Chrissy Teigen starts talking about vaginal steaming. Really?! “The host of NYE…vaginal steaming? Come on…have a little CLASS. Too many families watching honey. Not cute.” Do you agree? Ponder the answer while you watch Teigen gets destroyed by the umbrella in this footage.

In a tweet, Sila said that her nephew told her that a little boy spat at him while playing in a mall play area. When the appalled auntie went to investigate, she recognized the tot right away! It was Saint West. Saint was accompanied by his sister Chicago West and an older woman who seems to be taking care of them. Kim and Kanye were nowhere in sight… My nephew told me some kid spit on him at the mall playground today and his mom showed me pics of the kid who did it and it was…. Saint West.
