Source: Prince Williams / Getty Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna have come to a costly agreement in their nasty custody battle over their baby Dream Kardashian . The former couple has settled on a deal for joint custody of their 10-month-old daughter, but it does not come cheap. According to TMZ.com , Rob has agreed to pay his ex-fiance $20,000 a month in child support. Sources close to the situation revealed that Rob initially only wanted to pay about $10,000 a month, but Chyna wanted at least $50,000 a month. However, Rob eventually offered to pay $20,000 a month if Chyna dropped her claims of suffering domestic violence. He will also pay Chyna’s legal fees. Chyna filed a restraining order against Rob not long after their split, alleging in court documents that Rob beat her and cyberbullied her . She claimed he also threatened to kill himself. A substantial amount of the money that Chyna is getting will be used to pay for nannies as Rob is concerned about Chyna’s parenting. Dream will be with Rob most of the time since he’s got slightly more than 50 percent custody; but he wants to make sure that there are enough child care professionals around when she is with Chyna. A lthough an upcoming White House summit where President Donald Trump will meet with the leaders of historically Black colleges and universities has drawn a lot of criticism, several HBCU leaders say that they are committed to moving forward with the meeting, reports USA Today . Some HBCU presidents gearing up for White House summit https://t.co/zmu3R1pUn5 via @USATODAY — Walter M. Kimbrough (@HipHopPrez) September 16, 2017 While some HBCU presidents have made the decision to pull out of the event—which is slated to take place on Monday—those who still plan on attending believe that it’s crucial to meet with the president so that they can voice their concerns, the news outlet writes. “It’s important that we be at the table,” David Beckley , president of Rust College, told USA Today. “We have to be there to express our concerns. I’m willing to try again. I’m not sure how many more times I’ll go — based on results of this trip.” But will a seat at the table guarantee that their concerns will be addressed? In February, President Trump met with a collective of HBCU presidents to discuss the financial needs of Black institutions and an executive order which moved the HBCU initiative from the Department of Education to the White House. Following the meeting, then-Morehouse president, John Wilson Jr. shared that the exchange was “troubling.” Not to mention, the attention was diverted from their concerns to a viral photo of Kellyanne Conway sitting awkwardly during the meeting. In a piece featured on Medium , Dillard University President Dr. Walter Kimbrough shared that the meeting turned out to be a photo-op for the president. “There was very little listening to HBCU presidents today- we were only given about 2 minutes each, and that was cut to one minute, so only about 7 of maybe 15 or so speakers were given an opportunity today,” he wrote. Since that meeting went awry, things have gone downhill between Trump’s administration and HBCUs. Around the same time that the meeting took place, U.S. Education Secretary Betsy DeVos came under fire for making uninformed, ignorant remarks about HBCUs being “pioneers of school choice.” In May, while signing a government spending bill , Trump implied that federal financing for historically Black colleges and universities was unconstitutional. According to NPR , this week Tim Scott —the only Black Republican in the Senate—sat down with Trump to discuss his failure to condemn White supremacists during the Charlottesville chaos. The meeting proved to be ineffective after Trump still blamed “both sides” for the events that took place. What are your thoughts about the upcoming meeting? Sound off in the comments. Recently, Selena Gomez made the cover of Time magazine and talked about what the word “strength” means to her. Separately, she also shared a rare photo of herself with her boyfriend, The Weeknd . But that’s not all. Now, Selena is opening up about feeling “violated” as a teen starlet — and telling the world about what it felt like to fall in love for the first time. Selena Gomez sat down with The Business of Fashion this week and talked about her experiences as a young performer . For one thing, she doesn’t know what it’s like to not be an entertainer. “I’ve been doing it since I was seven. To be honest, I don’t think I know anything different.” That’s amazing, right? She also talks about how her mom always looked out for her. “She was very aware, for some reason, of what could happen to me.” That’s a parent’s first job, really. A lot of young stars are prime targets for people who want to exploit their careers and overwork them. Tragically, some young stars — who might experience unusual levels of independence for their ages — are targeted by sexual predators within the entertainment industry. Selena’s mom also didn’t fall into the “Stage Mom” trap. “She always said to me that I should have fun, and if it wasn’t fun or if I wasn’t learning something or I wasn’t growing as a person, she wanted to take me out of it.” Have any of you ever had to deal with stage moms? For a summer job that I had as a teenager, I once had to deal with a mother who wanted her preschool age daughter to perform on stage because, even though it is dangerous for children that young to be up on a stage and they don’t really need the pressure of performing. We’re glad that Selena had a much better experience. Being in this business, she says, became more difficult as she got older. “I was actually more confident when I was younger than I am now. I think it changed when I started getting known for things that weren’t [related to] my work… When I was younger, it was all fun to me.” That makes sense. When she became a huge celebrity, Selena became the subject of gossip. “When I did state fairs and 100 people would show up, I would be stoked. That was the best feeling in the world. But when I got older, I started to become exposed to the truth behind some stuff and that’s when it flipped a little bit.” It sounds like there was more than public perception at play with her disappointment as she got older, though. “I realized, ‘Oh this is actually really hard, and kind of slimy in certain areas,’ and I didn’t realize that certain people wanted certain things from me. My confidence went through a lot with that.” If you think that that sounds creepy, you’re right. “I remember just feeling really violated when I was younger, even just being on the beach. I was maybe 15 or 16 and people were taking pictures — photographers. I don’t think anyone really knew who I was. But I felt very violated and I didn’t like it or understand it.” There’s a difference between going “hey, that girl’s gorgeous” and taking a bunch of creepy pictures of her while she’s minding her own business. Some of that exposure comes with being a celebrity. But at 15, Selena shouldn’t have had to deal with that. “That felt very weird, because I was a young girl and they were grown men. I didn’t like that feeling.” When she was 18, though, Selena experienced a turning point. She was still starring on Wizards of Waverly Place (which was a charming show — no iCarly , but miles ahead of Hannah Montana ), and she felt like she needed to stretch her legs. “I didn’t feel like it was about my art as much. I was on the fourth season of the show, and I felt like I was outgrowing it. I wanted something different and obviously, I fell in love for the first time.” Some people never fall in love, of course. Either they’re aromantic or they just never meet the right people or get to form the right connections. But while most people do fall in love multiple times, it’s rare for anyone’s first love to be as famous as Selena Gomez’s romance with Justin Bieber. We’re really glad that she’s moved on since those days. And so, we’re sure, is she. View Slideshow: Selena Gomez Magazine Covers: Which Look is Best?
If you haven't yet seen this suburban mom's viral rant about “bus stop moms,” then you're missing out an on experience . As you can see in the video below, Nicole Walters is funny. She's just funny. Her viral rant isn't angry or defamatory, and countless people find it relatable. In related news, where can we get an “Oprah Wasn't Built In A Day” shirt? So, Nicole Walters went on a Facebook video rant about the “fancy” moms (her words) at her child's bust stop. Nicole is a married mother of three, and she and her family have only recently moved to the affluent suburban neighborhood. Her “rant” isn't vicious or heated as some of the “rant videos” that we've seen recently floating around the interwebs. Instead, her video reads more like stand-up comedy, but set in the environment that she describes. It's 8am, so she hasn't showered yet or dressed for the day. She sent her nanny to walk her child to the bus. (The nanny bit might not be relatable to everyone, but pretty much everything else about this should resonate with anyone familiar with suburban living) Sporting a shirt that reads: “Oprah Wasn't Built In A Day,” Nicole tells you exactly what she thinks of the other neighborhood moms. First, she's very direct and honest about her outfit. She's wearing a bonnet, she hasn't showered (she has washed her face though, which is more than most of us do before showering). She's wearing a loose-fitting, on brand tee shirt. She also looks great, honestly. She really knows how to work a camera, and we don't just mean operate one. The way that Nicole emotes throughout this video is pretty fantastic. It was, you see, her 6-year-old's first day of kindergarten. (Keep in mind that many kindergarten classes start two weeks later than fellow elementary schoolers) And Nicole just could not bring herself to go out and deal with the other moms at the bus stop. (Nicole points her camera at the “fancy” mom and at her own nanny as they return from the bus stop after seeing the children off) The bus stop moms are, you see, entirely too “fancy.” As she continues, you realize that it's not exactly the case that she's intimidated, though you'd understand it if someone did find these women intimidating. Nicole singles out one neighborhood mom in particular. “You don’t know how perfect she is. She’s so fancy. She’s so fancy. She’s skinny. She wears tennis clothes every day. Tennis clothes and a visor every day.” “Every day she wears that.” Nicole says that this unnamed woman “is just so good at life. She’s just so good at life.” Rather than being intimidated, though, it seems clear that Nicole is annoyed by their superficial conversations. She mocks the use of vocal fry in some of the other moms' voices, but mostly her teasing seems to be in good fun. We'll be honest, actually turning the camera on one of the moms, even from that distance, seemed a little invasive to us, right? The woman's not a public figure; she's just a mom seeing her kid off to school. But we have no idea who she is and, quite frankly, this funny video is a gift and we're glad to have gotten to witness it. See it for yourself:
W ith the powerful winds of Hurricane Irma approaching Florida, some airlines are hiking ticket prices well beyond the budget of many seeking to escape the destructive storm, CBS News reports. The outlet interviewed a Vermont man, Steve McQueen , who said he spent $1,725 to fly his 87-year-old mother from Fort Myers, Florida to Charlotte, North Carolina on Thursday. He told CBS that he understands what happens with last minute ticket purchases but called the price “ghastly.” Delta Airlines was publicly shamed when a prospective customer tweeted a price change from $547.50 to $3,258.50 found on Expedia.com, NBC News reported. Since that post went viral, others reported United Airlines and American Airlines for similar price hikes. Shame on you @delta . Jacking from $547 to over $3200 for people trying to evacute responsibly? #IrmaHurricane pic.twitter.com/O2nfPHQUAh — Leigh (@LeighDow) September 5, 2017 According to CBS, price gouging related to emergencies is illegal in Florida. That rule applies to hotels, gas stations and grocery stores–but not airlines. The federal government is responsible for regulating the airline industry. Exorbitant pricing complicates evacuation arrangements for students like Antonio Mercurius , an African American studies and health science major at the University of Miami. Mercurius told the Miami Herald he felt “lucky” to have purchased his flight to the District of Columbia on Monday, before the hikes. The co-founder of the student poetry collective Speak How You Feel told reporters he was concerned about the safety of others who can’t afford the increased prices: “Why is there no emergency evacuation cost? I understand supply and demand but the laws of capitalism should not operate in the times of catastrophic danger. What happens to the people that can’t afford flights now?” After public outrage over the “laws of capitalism,” some airlines began to change their tunes and prices. JetBlue set a $99 cap for direct flights out of Florida. American Airlines set a similar cap for outgoing flights. A spokesperson for Delta Airlines announced that it would adjust prices for last-minute flights, waive change fees, and accommodate more passengers with larger planes. Image via Faisal Khan/Anadolu Agency/Getty Images Viral Video Of West Yorkshire Woman’s Racist Muslim Rant The world appears to be unraveling one racist rant at a time. According to MetroUK , a woman was caught on camera spewing vile hate speech a group of Muslim folks who were minding their own damn business, visiting a Dewsbury Cemetary in West Yorkshire. This spoiled mayonnaise dollop leaned her lil’ square head out of her punk azz Mini Cooper and let loose her bigoted yoppa. The West Yorshire Police Department does NOT taking incidents like this lightly. There are currently looking to identify the hateful Game of Thrones reject so they can bring her to justice. Superintendent Roger Essell, of Kirklees District Police, said: ‘This was an incredibly distressing experience and our enquiries are very much underway to identify those involved. ‘The victims were understandably left shocked and upset following this incident. ‘We take a robust stance against any kind of racial abuse.’ Look at this s#it… Nah, nah, nah, fook YOUUUU, lady!
If you’re like most Americans, you never heard the name Louise Linton before yesterday. Just 48 hours ago the Scottish actress’ claims to fame were appearing in the 2012 remake of the horror film Cabin Fever and marrying US Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, both revolting undertakings that no doubt tested the limits of Ms. Linton’s gag reflex. Now, however, Louise has finally found the fame she’s spent her adult life in search of. Unfortunately, it’s left her frantically switching her social media accounts to “private” like Marie Antoinette boarding up the windows at Versailles. In case you missed Louise’s “let them eat cake” moment, here’s what happened: Linton and her husband recently traveled to Kentucky in a private jet in order to discuss tax reform with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. What former Charlie Sheen co-starrer Louise brought to the table is anyone’s guess, but hey, this is the administration in which former handbag designers are shaping foreign policy , so anything goes. Anyway, Woman of the People Louise posted a photo of herself arriving in Kentucky (a state in which 1 in 5 people live below the poverty line) that rubbed some folks the the wrong way. The pic showed Linton stepping off a government plane looking like she’d been outfitted for a different kind of runway. To ensure none of the poors got the wrong impression that she’s flying around in Target pajama pants and a neck pillow from Hudson News, Linton tagged the many high-end designers responsible for her outfit. The hashtag “#HermesScarf” went viral shortly thereafter, but not because Twitter was so impressed by Louise’s fashion sense. To drive home the point that she’s some sort of cartoon bad guy rich person, a la Monty Burns or Cruella De Ville, Linton attacked an Oregon mother of three who dared to suggest that her post was in poor taste. “Have you given more to the economy than me and my husband? Either as an individual earner in taxes OR in self sacrifice to your country?” Linton wrote, in an emoji-laden screed. “I’m pretty sure we paid more taxes toward our day ‘trip’ than you did. Pretty sure the amount we sacrifice per year is a lot more than you’d be willing to sacrifice if the choice was yours.” She went on to slam Miller for being “adorably out of touch,” before sarcastically quipping, “Your kids look very cute. Your life looks cute.” After what we imagine was a hilariously WTF?! reaction from her husband (who, as the producer of the Entourage movie, is a man who knows good taste), Louise issues a half-assed apology … through her publicist: “I apologize for my post on social media yesterday as well as my response. It was inappropriate and highly insensitive,” read a statement issued by Linton’s handlers. As you can see, the apology is boring, boilerplate, and almost certainly not penned by Louise herself. Really, the only reason we’re reporting on it at all is so that we can bring you the exciting news that Louise literally played Marie Antoinette in an episode of CSI: NY! Louise Linton on CSI: NY But that wasn’t her only gloriously apt film role. Louise also had a few lines on the now-defunct CBS drama Cold Case . She played a woman named Louise in an episode titled “WASP”! You can’t make this stuff up, folks. Well, you can … but who would want to? Oh, do yourself a favor and google Louise’s memoir – a harrowing account of her post-boarding school gap year living amongst black people. It’s the “feel awful about this administration and the state of our society” book of the year!
Danielle Bregoli was sentenced to five years of probation , but that won’t stop her blossoming career of … just generally being an infamous sort of person whom people ironically enjoy. We know that she’s doing the whole reality show thing , which she should do sooner rather than later if she wants any viewers. But apparently the Cash Me Ousside girl is doing music . This is no longer hypothetical, folks. It’s time to panic. We’ve known that she can sing for a while, now. Remember when Danielle Bregoli belted out Beyonce … while for some reason sitting in the driver’s seat of a car? (We’ll say it now and we’ll say it again, because this cannot be said enough — she is fourteen ) Actually, a fair share of her legal troubles came from stealing her mother’s car, which is the kind of absurdly bad behavior that got her on talk show host and walrus-American Dr. Phil’s show in the first place. That’s the television appearance that made Danielle Bregoli, when her offer to fight the audience — “cash me ousside, how bow dah?” (meaning “catch me outside — to fight — how about that,” in English) — became a viral sensation. And now she’s capitalizing on that fame. First, of course, there’s talk of the reality show which … ugh, we’ll get to speculation about that later. And then there’s this, her upcoming rap career, which spells doom upon all the world. First, she’s chosen the rap name “Bhad Bhabie,” and already changed her Instagram handle. We don’t know if it’s carefully crafted by industry consultants or if it was Danielle’s whim, but — like so many rap names — it’s super, super bad. And she’s already doing music, you guys. Danielle Bregoli’s upcoming single is called “These Heaux,” which is pronounced these hoes , because of course it is. TMZ got to listen to a bit of it and is reporting back on those lyrics and … it’s not great, you guys. “These hoes be lackin’, see me in back and … they talk all this s–t but don’t say it in person.” Did she rhyme back and and person ? Oh boy. “Water, water drippin’, come take a peek … you in a trailer ho, bitch you can’t compete.” First of all, Danielle Bregoli’s life before a few months ago wasn’t that glamorous, so she’s really putting some distance … while clearly still clinging to the white trash image that’s probably going to part of her brand for a good long while. Second of all … she just rhymed peek with compete . We feel a headache coming on. Danielle Bregoli also brags in the lyrics about “sippin’ lean” and about riding in a Maybach (which is basically just a type of Mercedes). Oh, and she brags about her ability to keep a man. She is fourteen , you guys. Obviously, fourteen isn’t too young to date or whatever. Plenty of young people engage in some form of hooking up at younger ages with zero adverse results. The key, of course, is for them to be safe and smart and for their boyfriends and girlfriends to be, you know, age-appropriate. Danielle’s newfound celebrity might help keep her from becoming sixteen and pregnant, we hope, but it might put her into even more contact with creepy older dudes. (We’ve already heard about 27-year-old Tyga flirting with Danielle Bregoli , because he’s such a creep) We totally get that, between her image as an up-and-coming public personality and just being a teenager, Danielle is eager to portray herself as an adult. (She’s also undoubtedly been emotionally and psychologically scarred by her upbringing and really, really can’t help how she acts unless she gets the help that she needs) But we want her newfound fame to be her success story. You can play a white trash character for the cameras and in the recording studio and still go back to your nice home and behave yourself well in real life. We want that opportunity for Danielle. Life’s handed her a bunch of lemons and maybe she’ll manage to turn them into lemonade. But we’re very aware that her life could get worse, not better.
