Based on a number of explosive text messages, it’s apparent that Jenna Cooper was taking some other guy’s big, throbbing you-know-what into her mouth, even while she was romancing Jordan Kimball on Bachelor in Paradise. But no huge matter, Kimball now says. He wants to be the bigger person. Appearing on Reality Steve’s podcast yesterday, Kimball spoke at length about the scandal that continues to rock Bachelor in Paradise. On Tuesday night, just as Jordan was proposing to Jenna on the Season 5 finale of this series, exchanges between Cooper and an unidentified man were being read online. These exchanges were rather explicit in nature and they certainly made it appear as if Cooper had been lying to Kimball throughout their televised courtship . Simply put, the exchanges included Jenna describing to this man just what she wanted to do to him, in a sexual sense. Reality Steve published these texts and said the man sent them to him because he was sick of Jenna “manipulating” him.” Cooper has denied cheating. Kimball has ended their engagement. And here we are now. “I’m remaining extremely civil,” the 26-year old told Steve on his podcast, adding: “In the most uncomfortable way, I am here for her because she is really going through a tough time. “I have forgiven her, and it hurts me to even have to forgive her because that means that I’ve accepted that this has happened.” Wow. That’s rather mature of Jordan, wouldn’t you say? Kimball has remained very candid about the (alleged) cheating, saying he felt sick to his stomach when he read the above text message and that he’s extremely hurt by any accusation that he faked his loved for the camera. He says the relationship was real from his end. He was truly in love with Cooper. And perhaps that explains why he still can’t bring himself to wish harm upon her. “I think it’s awful,” he said on the podcast about all the vitriol coming Jenna’s way online. “I don’t think anyone deserves that.” But does he think Jenna was sleeping around on him? Oh yes. “She’s just been denying it,” Kimball said of his discussion this week with Jenna, adding: “She’s been telling me that she’s going to prove it all wrong. And she’s asked me if I’m going to be there for her, and I’m like, ‘Look, you’ve got to prove it wrong first.’” Prior to this quote, Jordan had admitted that he thinks Jenna is guilty: “When I read these texts, I can hear her voice saying it. The structure of the speaking and the facts this gentlemen has about her…it’s scary. It gives me chills.” Still, Cooper remains adamant. Not only does she continue to say she never cheated on Kimball, she has hired an attorney to try and get to the source of the text messages, which she insists she did not send. This is what Jenna wrote on Instagram yesterday, as she rushed to her own defense: I want to start by saying those texts were completely fabricated, and I never sent them to anyone. I did not cheat on Jordan, and I have nothing to hide. I have been extremely open and vulnerable throughout this whole process. I was looking for love, and I found it. I was excited to share this journey with all of you. I am hurt by these fake texts, and that anyone would believe this story so quickly without proof. I have an attorney helping me investigate this hurtful and fraudulent attack on my character. We are evaluating all legal remedies available to punish those responsible. Do you believe her? So Debra Messing and Susan Sarandon are not friends. Like, at all. Who knows what their relationship was like before the 2016 presidential election, if they even had one, but when Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton official became the Republican and Democratic nominees, things got real bad, real fast. Debra has always been a big supporter of Hillary, while Susan was (and still is) one of those people who was super, super into Bernie Sanders. When Hillary won the primary, Susan was very displeased, and she refused to support her. She also kind of began to support Trump in a roundabout way, making statements like “Some people feel Donald Trump will bring the revolution immediately. If he gets in, then things will really explode.” She said that Hillary was too “dangerous” to endorse, and right before the election, she began endorsing Jill Stein, because she felt that Hillary would easily win so it would be fine for people to “vote their conscience.” Obviously, things did not work out like that. Pretty much every single time Susan has made some dumb public statement on Trump, Debra has been there to call her out on it . They’ve gotten into plenty of Twitter fights, Debra has called Susan “insane” and insisted that she be “held accountable” for her misguided political comments. And now that Susan is running her mouth again, Debra is there to shut it down. This week, Variety released a new interview with Susan, and in the interview, she talked more about that “revolution” idea she’s been so excited about. She said that a good thing about Trump’s presidency so far is that he’s so bad, he’s inspiring young people to get more into politics, and that he’s also inspiring more women and people of color to run for office. “This is a revolution,” she said. “Maybe things had to get so bad before real change actually could happen. We just have to stay awake.” When Debra saw the interview … well, she went the f–k off. “STFU SUSAN,” she began her Twiter tirade. “Oh yes, PLEASE let’s give Trump CREDIT.” “I mean how else are you able to walk out on the street. Convince yourself that this CATASTROPHE of a president who you said was better that HRC IS NOT ripping children away from people seeking asylum, holding children INDEFINITELY in internment camps with their new policy …” “DESTROYING all attemps to protect our environment (yes the water you properted to care about), endangered animals, taking away women’s ACCESS to health care and legal abortion, trying to block POC from voting with extreme judges who will support jerrymandering efforts, not to mention destroying ALL goodwill and allied relationships across the globe.” “Oh,” she continued, “and lest you forget Syria, Crimea, and putting PRO-RUSSIA agenda BEFORE the United States best interests .” “YES, do go on and LAUD the effect Trump has had out of DESPERATION & PANIC for the DESTRUCTION of the Soul of our country.” We know, we know, it’s a lot, but she’s still not done! “You don’t want to look at THAT part of the equation,” Debra wrote. “Because then you’d have to admit you were dead WRONG running around bellowing that HRC was more dangerous than Trump.” “Only a self righteous narcissist would continue to spout off and not — in the face of Americans’ pain and agony — be contrite and apologize for your part in this catastrophe.” She wrapped things up with “But you do you Susan.” Susan responded briefly by telling Debra to actually watch her interview “before you get yourself all self-righteous,” but Debra said that she actually watched the interview twice. So who’s right here? Well, Debra, clearly. She uses a lot of caps in her argument, but it’s a solid argument. Susan has received a lot of criticism since her interview began making the rounds, and she’s been quick to remind people that she’s not pro-Trump by any means. As she’s been reminding everyone on her Twitter account, she got arrested earlier this summer at an anti-Trump protest, and she has been using her platform to urge everyone to vote. But it’s hard to forget all those insane things she said in 2016, and it’s still weird how she’s romanticizing the idea of this big revolution when really everything just kind of sucks right now . Source: Ethan Miller / Getty Pusha T is officially a chose man. This past weekend, he married his longtime girlfriend Virginia Williams at the Cavalier Hotel in his hometown of Virginia Beach. According to Us Weekly, the festivities took place on Saturday where Pharrell Williams served as Push’s best man. Of course G.O.O.D. music founder and friend Kanye West was also there, along with his wife Kim Kardashian West. Some people’s first introduction to Virginia Williams was probably in Drake ‘s diss record to Pusha T “Duppy.” His line “I told you keep playin’ with my name, and Ima let it ring on you like Virginia Williams” most likely pushed Pusha T to release his even more savage diss record “The Story of Adidon” back in May . Now that the beef between Drizzy and Pusha T is supposedly over, Push and Virginia can hopefully enjoy their life as newlyweds stress free and name-dropping free. Congrats to the new couple!
Source: Mike Jordan / Getty It’s been a minute, but the Fab Five are finally back for season two of TNT’s hit dramedy Claws . And from the looks of the season premiere, it’s clear that Desna, Polly, Virginia, Jen and Quiet Ann are up to their necks in money laundering, Russian mobsters, the Dixie Mafia, avoiding getting killed and of course, the nail art game. While the show, which stars the amazing Niecy Nash and Karrueche Tran , may be over the top at times—in a good way of course—it never lacks authenticity, which matters since the story is centered on a Black woman and her “ride-or-die” crew. What’s also clear is that a lot of that realness has to do to with its seasoned showrunner Janine Sherman Barrois . HelloBeautiful sat down with Barrois to talk about the importance of telling strong women’s story, why Niecy Nash is the show’s anchor and whether Claws has encouraged her to be more daring with her nail art. HelloBeautiful: You’ve written for shows like ER and Criminal Minds . While Claws has a criminal element, it certainly isn’t about serial killers or hospital drama. What about a nail salon in Florida drew you in? Janine Sherman Barrois: It was just so bold and refreshing. I read the pilot script [the show’s creator] Eliot Laurence wrote and it was just so good! I loved the Florida noir aspect and the humor and the drama it possessed. That, and the idea that it was a centered on these five cool fierce women. So often on television, women are not on the forefront, they usually serve as sidekicks to the male leads. But with Claws , these women are the heart and soul of the show. HB: I watched the season premiere twice, it was so outrageous, amazing and the gender power dynamic has really shifted from the first season. Instead of the Desna working for the Hussers, they work for her under the Russians, who are also women. With the #MeToo Movement stronger than ever, why is having Desna & company in charge so important? JSB: First, while Claws is definitely about female empowerment and women sticking up for themselves, I don’t want to conflate the #MeToo Movement with the show. So with that being said, yes, I think the gender power dynamic shifting from a patriarch with Uncle Daddy [Dean Norris] to a matriarch with Zlata [Franka Potente] is a great thing. Women have always been woke and we’ve always been trying to take our power and say we’re not putting up with inequality anymore, so it’s more than just that. We are in a time where we are even more vocal about [being entitled] to parity with men, whether it be financially, sexually or creatively. Time is really up for inequality, especially for these women that work at a nail salon in the middle of a strip mall in Palmetto, Florida. HB: Niecy Nash is such an anchor to this series, I couldn’t imagine the show without her. I read that initially she wasn’t available for the pilot because she was shooting a different one, but that later changed and she was cast with the quickness. JSB: When you look at the show now, it’s so clear that the only person who can play Desna is Niecy. But at the time, we were looking at lots of women of difference races—we really didn’t know who could play this role. But when we heard her pilot wasn’t happening, the head of studio called us and asked did we want to meet with her. We said yes. The minute she walked in the room, she just blew our minds. She was different from anything we had ever seen. Niecy embodies power and has this unapologetic fierceness to her. Let me tell you, this was all from just a meeting, but we knew from day one she had so much passion to play this role and would give Desna the layers she deserved. But what’s also great about Niecy is that she’s not just passionate about her character, she’s passionate about everyone else’s and advocates for the writing room to make sure they are just as cool and layered as Desna. HB: One of the strengths of the show is the power of friendship and it’s interesting because from their race to sexual orientation, they are very different. We rarely see this on TV, especially in a way where they are all equals, not just sassy sidekicks that boast up the white female protagonist. I absolutely love it. JSB: Over the weekend one of the show’s actors shared that someone told them the Claws shows them that Black women and white women and other women of color can forge real friendships and get along. I think that’s very key and in so many parts of the feminist movement, women of color have asked white women, “Where are you when it comes to our causes?” So I think its very important to see that these women are bonding and forging friendships that is about their humanity and their race. Also, we wanted for it to be authentic. When we were casting Jen [Jenn Lyon], we wanted someone who we really believed would be best friends with Desna. We needed something about Jen’s worldview where it was clear that having a diverse group of women in her life came from her own desire and her soul. Too often, these types of friendships come because you’re paid to have it, like you work with someone and you’re forced into this friendship. Or you go to college and you’re the first person of color your roommate has ever seen. But these women aren’t like that. There is a commonality of sisterhood that exists despite of their race and sexual orientation, something that TV has ignored for far too long. HB: Being one of the few Black female showrunners in the industry along with Shonda Rhimes ( Grey’s Anatomy ), Lena Waithe ( The Chi ) and Karin Gist ( Star ) to name a few, how important is to for us to have a seat at the table? JSB: It’s extremely important. The more diverse people you have in the room, the larger point of view you have to shape the story. And when you have people of color running a show, they can help make sure inclusion happens behind the scenes, with the actors and the crew. This is the world of the new generation to make inclusion and diversity a part of life and how we do things in Hollywood. We are far more woke than the older generation and with them getting older and retiring, we are going to see a real shift. I believe things are getting much better. Also, we have Shonda Rhimes who has made billions of dollars for her network and once you bring in that kind of money, and show that not just white men can do it, you open the doors for so many other women of color and show them and the execs that it’s possible. HB: What’s your advice for Black female writers trying to break into the industry? These three things. First, you need to write everyday, it’s far too competitive not to. Also, y ou also have to read a lot. Whether it’s fiction, screenplays or television specs, the more you read the better storyteller you will become. Most importantly, be persistent and look for the opportunities. A lot of people don’t know how to find them and when they have an opportunity, they miss out on it because they weren’t prepared or they didn’t realize. Keep your eyes open and be ready. Honestly, if you want to make in the industry, you have to be obsessed with it. HB: Finally, given that Claws is about a nail salon, how often do you get your nails done? And has the show encouraged you to be more creative? JSB: [Laughs] I work so much that I can only get my nails done about once a month, but I will definitely try funky things, especially if I have an event or a press junket for the show. I’m also into wild press ons too. But I do love getting my nails done, not only does it complete your look, but it relaxes me and you can hear the best stories just sitting back in the salon. It’s my therapy. This interview has been edited and condensed for clarity. Catch Claws on Sundays on TNT at 9pm Eastern/8pm Central. The world has lost a living legend in Tuskegee Airman Floyd Carter Sr. who died at the age of 95. VOA News reports that Carter received many awards for his service in the Airforce and for the ground he broke being a Black man in the Airforce at a time when African-Americans weren’t wanted. After his days in the Airforce, being a part of the first group of Black airman in U.S. military, Carter spent 27 years working for the New York City Police. There his job was to protect visiting heads of states such as Cuban leader Fidel Castro and Soviet head Nikita Khrushchev. Born and raised in Yorktown, Virginia, Carter climbed the ranks to Airforce lieutenant colonel years after joining the Tuskegee Airman. While working he met his wife Artherine, a woman who was working as part of the all-female repair crew. With several dates on his plane, the two married in 1945 on the air base. In 2007, Carter received the Congressional Gold Medal by President George W. Bush . Carter joined Star Wars filmmaker George Lucas for a screening of his film Red Tails , a movie he made about the Tuskegee Airman. Carter not only served in World War II, but in both the Korean and Vietnam war. He leaves behind his wife, his children Floyd Jr. and Rozalind, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
