Diddy-Dirty Money Invite MTV News Aboard Last Train To Paris

‘I don’t think you’re an artist until people start looking at you like you’re crazy,’ Diddy says as Sway tags along for a day in the life of the trio. By Mawuse Ziegbe, with reporting by Sway Calloway Diddy-Dirty Money visit a Best Buy in Manhattan to sign some Last Train To Paris CDs Photo: MTV News When MTV News flipped on the camera to document Diddy-Dirty Money’s promotional grind for Last Train to Paris on Tuesday, the Bad Boy CEO was firmly in mogul mode, typing away on his smartphone as he sat in an SUV ready to hit the town with MTV News’ Sway for a daylong “RapFix Live” interview . But with Paris, the debut effort from Diddy-Dirty Money, on shelves, the businessman has to juggle the demands of both an artist and an executive — a type of multitasking he revealed he has not done for a long time. “I’ve just been so taken aback just by how it’s been received. I’m not used to being on that side,” Diddy said. The frontman also added that he feels vindicated by the positive reviews Paris has been scoring, despite dealing with critical side-eyes since the project was first announced. “I don’t think you’re an artist until people start looking at you like you’re crazy,” he said. “It’s been a couple years of people looking at me like I’m crazy, and I think that’s one of the things all the interviews and reviews have admitted. ‘Yeah, we thought he was crazy with the concept, but he proved to be right.’ ” When the ladies of Dirty Money, Dawn Richard and Kalenna Harper, entered the vehicle, the singers focused on the exhilaration of finally having the project available to the masses. “I’m so excited, Sway. It’s crazy,” Harper said. “We just keep staring at each other like, ‘We did it!’ ” When their Swizz Beatz-assisted track “Ass on the Floor” pumps through the speakers from New York’s Hot 97, it’s obvious how amped they are, bopping to the beat and spitting the lyrics. Even though Diddy isn’t new to the artist game, he maintained that the thrill of hearing his track hit the airwaves never goes away. Even with stacks of hits behind him, Diddy revealed that he still has a superstition he sticks to for every drop date. “You gotta buy 10 copies of your own album. It’s, like, something I’ve always done every year, for good luck,” he said. “It’s like [when] you vote. You vote for yourself, right?” The convoy arrived at Best Buy in New York’s Union Square a little while later, and staying true to his tradition, Diddy strolled down the aisles to find the Dirty Money records and picked out a stack. But the “Coming Home” rapper said the practice isn’t limited to artists, saying to fans, “You could buy 10 too. You could join in.” The star also urged gawking shoppers to throw down some cash in between posing for photos with fans. For some, a job where the boss is constantly around may be stressful, but Harper maintained that she appreciated having instant access to Diddy’s years of expertise and input. Richard added that being an integral part of the boss’ pet project also means it gets top priority. “It’s also dope because you know that the product will not go in vain because it’s the CEO and it’s his project,” she said. “You know that it’s gonna be 10 times more pushed because it is his baby.” Richard also added that the creative breadth of Paris, which ropes in everything from slinky house to jangly electro, afforded the ex-Danity Kane diva more creative freedom. “This is my third album, and having to conform so much in pop culture and people saying, ‘Oh, your voice isn’t this’ and ‘Your voice isn’t that,’ it was really refreshing to be able to do what I felt and be the tone [I wanted] and Kalenna to be able to sing the way we wanted to sing,” she explained. “I have a more rock/pop sound, but I do it over more hip-hop stuff. That was just something I didn’t feel like I had to conform [to] at all,” Harper said. “I just sounded like I sounded.” Later, the promo train headed back to the Bad Boy headquarters, where the trio got on a conference call with media outlets. When one journalist asked Diddy to respond to snipes that he’s no longer relevant, the star was quick with a retort. “They better turn on the TV, man, and walk outside and breathe some air. I’m like air, baby,” he said. “If I ain’t relevant, then who is?” The mogul later dropped in on an artist whose relevance in 2010 hasn’t really been contested: Justin Bieber . The teen sensation was working on some new music when Diddy stopped by to officially appoint him a member of the Dirty Money family, gifting him with a black-and-white “DM” letterman’s jacket. The mogul also hooked him up with the official “swag walk” of the Dirty Money crew, coolly instructing Bieber how to stroll and use his free hand for “pushin’ the hate back, ’cause there’s a lot of hate sometimes.” Proving he’s a quick study, Bieber suavely bopped along behind Diddy, pushing back the hate like a Dirty Money pro. ‘American Idol’ Competitor ‘The Voice Of America’ Coming Next Spring

Mark Burnett-produced show will pair singers with celebrity mentors. By Gil Kaufman Mark Burnett Photo: Frederick M. Brown/ Getty Images “American Idol” has ruled the TV landscape for almost a decade, drawing the biggest small-screen ratings of any show and quickly dispatching a series of wannabe competitors. But for next season, NBC has teamed up with “Survivor” heavyweight producer Mark Burnett to launch what could be the most serious challenge to the “Idol” throne yet. According to The Hollywood Reporter , NBC is aiming to steal the thunder of both “Idol” and Fox’s other upcoming reality singing show, Simon Cowell’s “The X Factor,” with a singing competition tentatively called “The Voice of America.” The show is based on the #1 program in the Netherlands, “The Voice of Holland,” which has reportedly put up some of the biggest ratings in Dutch TV history, steamrolling that country’s versions of “Idol” and “X Factor.” The new singing program is slated to premiere next spring, potentially going up against “Idol” and getting a jump on the fall launch of the first season of the American version of “The X Factor.” “Voice” will feature a panel of four celebrity coaches, who will sit with their backs to the contestants during the audition rounds in order to focus on their voices, not their looks. If they approve of the performance, they will push a button that will send the singer to the next round, claiming them as one of their students. If more than one judge likes a singer, that singer gets to choose which celebrity will be his or her coach. “Somebody will show up with all the right moves and look like a star, but their voice is only good, not great, and they don’t get chosen,” Burnett explained. “You’re dealing only with your sense of hearing — do you believe this voice is worthy of your commitment? The coaches have skin in the game and will be a part of the careers of these young performers after the show.” After the four teams are set, the coaches will mentor the contestants and pit the teams against one another, with viewers picking the winner. At times, the mentors will also place two team members against each other, giving them the same song to sing in front of the studio audience in order to decide which one they would like to keep developing. The final performance rounds, featuring the top vote getters from each team, will air live. The winner will receive a recording contract. The heat from the new kid on the block comes as “Idol” continues to tinker with its formula. In addition to the previously announced changes to its format, Entertainment Weekly reported on Monday that after the 325 Hollywood-round contenders were whittled down to 60, the whole crew moved to Las Vegas, where the remaining singers have been rehearsing to perform Beatles songs on the stage where Cirque du Soleil performs its Beatles homage, “Love.” New in-house mentor Interscope boss Jimmy Iovine has not only been providing advice on the new “American Idol,” but has brought along a group of mega-producers to guide the singers as well. Among the knob twiddlers offering advice: Alex da Kid (“Love the Way You Lie”), Tricky Stewart (“Baby”), Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins (“Telephone”), Polow da Don (“Turnin’ Me On”) and Jim Jonsin (“Whatever You Like”). Liam Neeson Avoids Mufasa Imitation For ‘Chronicles Of Narnia’ Lion Voice

‘I tried not to think of James Earl Jones!’ he laughs to MTV News about ‘Voyage of the Dawn Treader’ preparation. By Eric Ditzian Photo: 20th Century Fox Liam Neeson deserves our respect. The guy is committed. When tasked with portraying a talking lion in the “Chronicles of Narnia” series, he packed up his bags, gathered up his family and headed off to Kenya for some on-the-ground research. “We got to see them killing, eating, mating, sleeping, roaring. I can see why these creatures are kings of the jungle,” he told MTV News. “They have this wonderful majesty and element of danger, this mysterious look in their eye that seems to be a thousand years old.” Yes, the Oscar nominee braved an African safari all so the voice of his CGI lion would have an air of authenticity. Hey, makes sense to us. But as even Neeson admitted, voicing the creature — the Jesus-like beast called Aslan — was “an act of imagination,” and so his research and commitment to the character didn’t stop there. For “The Voyage of the Dawn Treader,” the third installment in the franchise, which hit theaters Friday (December 10), Neeson gathered up the design team’s computer mockups of Aslan and took them home with him. “I stuck those all over my bedroom so that when I woke up in the morning, I could see this lion,” he said. Yet with recollections of real-life lions in his head and animated renderings surrounding him, the key to voicing Aslan was one simple directive: Don’t imitate “The Lion King”! “I tried not to think of James Earl Jones!” he laughed, referring to Jones’ portrayal of Mufasa, the venerable king in Disney’s 1994 film. “That would be a little too intimidating.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .

Cee Lo Green’s ‘F— You’ Is MTV News’ #5 Song Of 2010

Motown-inspired track became the most unlikely hit of the year and one of our Top 25 Songs. By Kyle Anderson Cee Lo Green Photo: Getty Images First of all, let’s get the title out of the way. The song that comes in at #5 on MTV News’ Top 25 Songs of 2010 list is called “F— You” (and though we can’t type it out, you know what we’re talking about). It isn’t “Forget You” (which is what “Good Morning America” viewers and radio listeners hear) or “FU” or even “Fox News” (which was the lyric change Cee Lo Green made when he performed the song on “The Colbert Report”), and that’s an important distinction. The first single from Green’s new album The Lady Killer is a phenomenal marriage of rage, angst and giddiness that cannot properly be expressed with the word “forget.” It’s too angry, too thrilling and too singular for a radio edit, which is why it landed so high on this list. Of all the songs that appear on the upper echelon of this list, “F— You” might have had the strangest road to the top. There was very little excitement surrounding the release of Green’s new album (his third solo joint and his first since scoring huge crossover success with Gnarls Barkley, his collaboration with DJ Danger Mouse) when “F— You” became an instantaneous viral hit back in August. Thanks to a YouTube clip that did little more than lay out the lyrics to the potty-mouthed revenge tune, the song got passed around at the speed of the Internet, racking up millions of views before the song was even available on iTunes. Sensing that he had a hit on his hands, Green quickly cut a new, official video for the song (a brightly colored time-traveling tour through various episodes of traumatic female rejection) and pushed up the release date of the album. But while it seems like “F— You” should be a novelty song, it managed to transcend fleeting popularity, and that’s because of the song’s absolutely impeccable production. Co-written and produced by the Smeezingtons (the song-doctor collective that features breakout star Bruno Mars), “F— You” uses a funky Motown groove and bright-as-sunshine horns to build a spectacularly catchy groove over which Cee Lo can let his voice (which is all helium and rubber bands) dance all over it like an extra-angry Al Green. The language should have sunk “F— You” (in addition to the chorus, there are a handful of S-bombs and mentions of the N-word, hardly the things you can say in a crossover pop hit), but the jubilation with which Cee Lo delivered his vindictive lyric sheet wrapped everybody up, turning Cee Lo into a morning-show -friendly pop star (again) and spinning “F— You” into an unusual hit. The song peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and pushed The Lady Killer to the top 10 on the album chart as well. Cee Lo’s greatest “F— You”-related trick may be yet to come, as the song was just nominated for Grammys (Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Urban Alternative Performance and Best Short Form Music Video). And in perhaps the greatest testament of a song’s greatness in 2010, “F— You” got covered on an episode of the hit TV show “Glee” (by guest star Gwyneth Paltrow, no less). While there was no shortage of blunt honesty on the radio in 2010 ( Eminem and Rihanna’s “Love the Way You Lie” certainly put the cards on the table), Cee Lo Green’s “F— You” was a special kind of honesty, as it dressed it up in a jaw-droppingly fun package. Green had plenty of poison to share, but he did it with a smile — and that’s what made “F— You” so special. (And yeah, the cursing helped too.) How does Cee Lo Green’s “F— You” rank among the year’s best songs? Let us know in the comments! MTV News’ Top 25 Songs of 2010 countdown continues. Britney Spears’ Rep Denies Jason Trawick Abuse Story, Alleged Tape Recording in Statement

As you’ve probably heard, Britney Spears has been hit with serious allegations from Star and Radar Online, both of which claim the star’s boyfriend abused her. Britney purportedly called her ex-husband, Jason Alexander, to tell him about a beating she suffered at the hands of Jason Trawick . He has a recording of this. Now, both Spears’ manager, Larry Rudolph, and Trawick himself have strongly denied the allegations in a statement issued wide and posted on Britney’s site. The statement by Spears’ reps reads as follows: “Every aspect of the story published by Star Magazine is completely and utterly false and Star Magazine was informed of the falsity before it was published.” “The statements attributed to Jason Alexander are a complete fabrication as Britney has not had any form of communication with Mr. Alexander in years.” “The audio recording posted on Radar Online purporting to be between Britney Spears and Jason Alexander is so obviously fake as to be laughable.” “Suffice it to say, that Jason Trawick has never laid a hand on Britney.” “This is just another example of the irresponsible nature of the tabloid media relying on shoddy sources and false information for the sole purpose of selling magazines, without regard to the truth and without regard to who they hurt in the process.” “These irresponsible statements are defamatory and Britney Spears’ legal team will be taking legal action against all of the appropriate parties.” Earlier in the day, Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush also spoke with Jason Trawick directly, who said the assault allegations came out of nowhere. Trawick told Bush that he’s been busy arranging a charity screening of Secretariat for some children in the Valley and prepping for Spears’ birthday on Thursday. He added that the voice on the recording, posted on Radar , was clearly not Brit’s. When contacted by Access Hollywood earlier on Wednesday, David Perel, Executive Vice President of Radar Online , claimed that the recording was “100 percent verified” and a rep for Star responded that, “ Star stands by its story.” Hey, what do they have to lose at this point? In other news, happy birthday Britney !!!

Cayenne Pepper – Stop a heart attack fast

(NaturalNews) Did you know that you can actually stop a heart attack in its tracts with the simple but amazing and awesome power of cayenne pepper? It's true. Cayenne pepper can actually stop a heart attack in about 60 seconds flat! How To Use Cayenne Pepper To Stop A Heart Attack Fast! Famed healers such as Dr. John Christopher, N.D., and Dr. Richard Schulze, N.D., sang the praises of Cayenne pepper. For instance Dr. John Christopher declared: “In 35 years of practice, and working with the people and teaching, I have never on house calls lost one heart attack patient and the reason is, whenever I go in–if they are still breathing–I pour down them a cup of cayenne tea (a teaspoon of cayenne in a cup of hot water, and within minutes they are up and around).” It should be noted that these men, and many other healers like them, were speaking from personal experience and not speculation when referring to this powerful plant. So what are the best practices in using Cayenne pepper based upon the voice and experiences of those that have actually used it? First the Cayenne pepper must be at least 90,000 heat units or 90,000(H.U.) to be able to stop a heart attack. If the cayenne is at least 90,000 H.U. and the person is still conscious, the recommendation is to mix 1 teaspoon of cayenne powder in a glass of warm water (this is essentially a “cayenne tea”), and give it to the person to drink. If the person is unconscious then the recommendation is to use a cayenne tincture or extract, again of at least 90,000 H.U., and put a couple of full droppers underneath their tongue full strength. As noted above by Dr. Christopher, in 35 years of practice he never lost even 1 heart attack case if the person was still breathing when he arrived, and he attributed this to the prudent use of the cayenne pepper. Other Uses Of Cayenne One of the most profitable uses of cayenne pepper is as a catalyst in other herbal combinations. As a general rule it should be added to almost all herbal combinations with the exception of those classified as nervines (combinations made specifically for nerve issues). Because it has a stimulating effect upon the body, it speeds the circulation thereby causing it to enhance digestion as well as absorption. Therefore it can enhance or increase the effectiveness of practically any herbal formula. In fact it is often used this way in formulas for arthritis, various female complaints, infections, heart or circulatory issues, laxatives, diuretics, ulcers, thyroid issues etc. Cayenne's Nutritional Profile Cayenne has at least 26 different nutrients! It contains minerals such as Zinc, Selenium, Calcium, and Magnesium. It also contains vitamins such as Vitamin A and Vitamin C. Additionally it boasts both “crude fiber” and “dietary fiber”, as well as Carbohydrates. Cayenne certainly appears to be God's “Nitro-Glycerin” when it comes to heart attacks and one would be unwise to leave home without it. Justin Bieber’s My Worlds Acoustic: A Cheat Sheet

Get the scoop on the singer’s latest album, out Black Friday. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber Photo: Getty Images On Black Friday, the year’s busiest shopping day by far, Justin Bieber will release his album, My Worlds Acoustic. It will feature one new track, “Pray,” as well as acoustic reinterpretations of some of Bieber’s biggest songs from his first two LPs, My World and My World 2.0. While fans have gotten the chance to hear “Pray” as well as acoustic teases of “Favorite Girl” (when he stopped by Ryan Seacrest’s radio show this month) and “Never Say Never,” his musical director, Dan Kanter, tweeted what the rest of the album will sound like, saying , “Loving the percussion… Cajones and congas! Definitely an influence from our travels around the world!” As for “Pray,” Bieber has said he was inspired by a track from the King of Pop himself. “It’s a very uplifting song, very motivational,” he said. “It definitely comes from the heart. It’s very beautiful. I definitely thought of Michael [Jackson’s] ‘Man in the Mirror’ when I was writing it.” The album, which also features “One Time,” “Baby,” “One Less Lonely Girl, “Down to Earth,” “U Smile,” “Stuck in the Moment” and “That Should Be Me,” was recorded because Bieber wanted to silence his critics . “I really think that I did an acoustic album because there’s a lot of haters out there that say, ‘Justin Bieber can’t sing. His voice is all Auto-Tuned,’ ” he said. “And there’s a lot with production, it kind of drowns out your voice, and it takes away from the singer, over the synths and everything. “I think kind of stripping it down,” he added, “and having it kind of really mellow and being able to hear my voice is why I wanted to do it.” Will you be picking up Bieber’s latest on Black Friday?
