The Voice Recap: Lucky Number 3 for Adam Cunningham?

With the finale fast approaching, it’s time to whittle down The Voice Season 13’s final 10.  With Adam Cunningham circling the drain over the last few weeks, we think it’s fair to assume that will not be changing this week. Viewers cannot connect with him, and that has nothing to do with his vocals.  Let’s break down the performances of the night and see how everyone stacks up.  Davon Fleming (Team Jennifer) – “Hurt” Davon’s rendition of this Christina Agulera classic was flawless. He hit all of the high notes with ease, and there were no signs of it slowing down. The coaches seemed shocked by the power of his voice, and it will be fun to see what he does next.  Adam Cunningham (Team Adam) – “Maybe It Was Memphis” Adam is struggling to garner the votes he needs to stay in the process, and his latest performance was breathtaking. To try and win some new fans, he changed his voice up.  It worked, and his sound was more like someone you would expect to win a show like this. Will it help with votes? We can hope. Noah Mac (Team Jennifer) – “Ordinary World” Noah stalled this week. His performance was still decent, but his take on this Duran Duran classic was rather bland. His confidence seemed to take a knock, and that seems like a step back for him.  Losing confidence during the lives is a big no-no, so he needs to get it together soon.  Shi’Ann Jones (Team Jennifer) – “Diamonds” Shi’Ann’s voice has been all over the place during her time in the competition, and it was at its worst this week. This Rihanna classic was butchered by the teen, and she even struggled to hit some of the notes.  Could this be the end of her time in the competition? Chloe Kohanski (Team Blake) – “Call Me” Chloe has been the one to watch pretty much all season long. This Blondie hit is a great song, and she managed to make it her own with some subtle changes that proved she is an elegant performer who wants to win.  Keisha Renee (Team Blake) – “All By Myself” Keisha opened up this number in a soft tone that became a full-blown scream by the end, but that benefited her for this song. Keisha knows how to make a song her own, and she did so in winning fashion.  Ashland Craft (Team Miley) – “I Hate Myself for Loving You” This performance was not memorable in the slightest. From her nerves to her pitchy vocals, there was nothing that made this exciting. Have we seen everything Ashland has to offer? Brooke Simpson (Team Miley) –  “Amazing Grace” Brooke’s performance gave me chills. She owned the stage with her voice and her moves. The song choice was on point, and she battled to make it one that everyone would remember when it came to voting. Well played.  Red Marlow (Team Blake) –  “That’s What I Love About Sunday” Red Marlow effortlessly beat out Adam Cunningham for the best voice of the night, and that was not going to be an easy task. Blake is the perfect coach for Red because they can both learn a lot from each other.  Addison Agen (Team Adam) – “Lucky” The performances came to a close with a solid number from Addison. She went the acoustic route, and it benefited her voice. Every note was hit with ease, and you could tell she knew she had wowed the crowd with that grin at the end.  Okay, so who will go home? Will Adam beat the odds and be sent to safety? Hit the comments! View Slideshow: The Voice Winners: RANKED!

The Voice Recap: A Surprise Guest Appears

The Top 11 performed on the latest episode of The Voice, and Gwen Stefani made a surprise appearance.  During the commercials, she started taking pictures with Blake, and it was all then shown on live TV. Yes, it all took place during a split screen, so there really is no hiding from the cameras.  Back to the performances. There were some real shockers, and we have all the details below! Janice Freeman – “Shine” by Collective Soul Janice’s performances have been a bit all over the place throughout the season, and this one was no different. One second she can have the best voice around, and then she starts shouting, and it ruins the whole thing.  Shaky performances are not good because they can be a sign that the person is just too nervous to own a song, and that could be her ultimate undoing. Red Marlowe – “The Dance” by Garth Brooks Red likes to show off his country voice, but this was not the best song to do it. The performance was average at best, and he struggled to hit some of the lower notes, and that’s a bit alarming.  As a whole, it was decent because it was just the low notes he struggled with, but it should be a cautionary tale for him to choose the right song in the future.  Shi’Ann Jones – “Listen” by Beyoncé Performing a Beyoncé is no easy feat, but this was a surprisingly convincing rendition. There were shaky vocals here and there, but for the most part, it was solid, and it should keep her fighting in the competition for another week.  Adam Cunningham – “American Girl” by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers With the instant save saving Adam last week, the artist had to switch things up this week to garner some more votes. Thankfully, he delivered a rendition that was one of his best to date.  He really went back to the drawing board because he knew it was time to fix his vocals.  Brooke Simpson – “What About Us” by Pink This should have been another excellent performance for Brooke, but there were some issues, and it was difficult to hear any of the vocals. This will not bode well when it comes to voting.  Davon Fleming – “I Have Nothing” by Whitney Houston Who would have thought Davon would go with a Whitney song and make the judges putty in his hands? It was a phenomenal rendition that immediately put him up the food chain.  Ashland Craft – “Chicken Fried” by Zac Brown Band Ashland went all out for her latest performance, and you could tell she had taken all the feedback on board. The whole package was great, and she should have no trouble staying in the competition.  Addison Agen – “A Case of You” by Joni Mitchell Changing a song up is part of the game, and Addison did just that during the live show and it benefited her. With some high notes thrown in for good measure, it was one of her best performances yet.  Keisha Renee – “It Matters to Me” by Faith Hill Keisha’s performance left a lot to be desired. Her vocals to date have been astounding, but this song was not the best one to show them off. Generally, she is one of the best of the night, but this was her worst night of the season.  Noah Mac – “Electric Love” by BØRNS Woah! Noah turned in a stunning rendition that practically saw him parading across the stage! Everything about this was something you would expect from a recording artist, so that’s pretty good. If he winds up in danger tonight, then there will be trouble.  Chloe Kohanski – “Total Eclipse of the Heart” by Bonnie Tyler Chloe saved the best for last. Her performance defined the whole night and proved it was time for the others to step it up or go home.  “Ladies and gentlemen, Chloe just set the bar,” said Blake after hearing it.  Okay, so that’s a wrap on the Top 11 performances! Who do you think will go home? Sound off below! View Slideshow: The Voice Winners: RANKED!

Delusional Donny: Trump Now Claims That His P*ssy-Grabbing Access Hollywood Clip Is Faker Than His Hairline

SAUL LOEB/AFP/Getty Images Donald Trump Denies Ever Saying “Grab Em By The P*ssy” Everyone knows Commander in Cheeto’s most famous line is “grab ’em by the p*ssy.” But now, he’s apparently claiming he never said that in the first place and tossing it in the “fake news” pile. In a new piece by the New York Times , reporters claim that in the wake of the Roy Moore scandal that he is brushing aside, the President has begun denying that he ever said that he can kiss women and “grab them by the p*ssy” at will — despite the fact that it was caught on tape, has been seen by MILLIONS of people, and he even admitted that they were indeed his words. And, in case you live beneath a rock and haven’t seen the clip in question…here it is in all it’s kitty-snatching glory: Via NYT: He sees the calls for Mr. [Roy] Moore to step aside as a version of the response to the now-famous “Access Hollywood” tape, in which he boasted about grabbing women’s genitalia, and the flood of groping accusations against him that followed soon after. He suggested to a senator earlier this year that it was not authentic, and repeated that claim to an adviser more recently. (In the hours after it was revealed in October 2016, Mr. Trump acknowledged that the voice was his, and he apologized.) Um…is he SENILE or has he just gotten to the point that he believes his own bull? SMH.

Anna Kendrick Brought her Tits to some The Voice Mash Up Promo of the Day

I guess marketers understand that the only people who go to the movies are the people who still watch TV, so the people at Pitch Perfect, who produced another movie, even though Anna Kendrick is 40 and awkward looking, while the asian one looks like she’s pushing 60, and we know the fat one along with eating her weight in cake, is officially 50, but you can’t call her out for it, because she will sue you an win, it’s her right to lie about her age, cuz she’s fat filled and wrinkle-less as her skin barely can support the pressure of her obesity….while Hailee Steinfeld who is the only college aged one..and probably the only one worth fucking… You see Anna Kendrick has such a fucking terrible face, a weird little mouth, the kind of look that makes her look like she’s sucking on lemons, and when I hear people find her hot, I write them off as people who wath the voice, and would go to the movies….even though they are probably just dudes with low expectations, and she’s better than the local trash available to them…you know love the average at best chick and her cleavage… I just expect more out of overpaid cunt. Hi Hater: Here’s What Kevin McCall Thinks About Eva Marcille’s Baby News

Ad Media/Splash News SMFH… Kevin McCall Reacts To Eva Marcille’s Pregnancy After news broke that Eva Marcille and her politician bae Michael Sterling are expecting their first child, not everyone was ecstatic for them. As previously reported the model’s 5-months-pregnant with a baby boy and she couldn’t be happier. According to her extremely emotional, Chris Brown trolling ex, however, it’s a laughing matter. Kevin McCall whose been fairly silent after all that “#Baerrueche” drama with Breezy , recently took to IG to sarcastically congratulate Eva on her baby news in a post about “dodging a bullet.” “Looks like congratulation are in order, cheers,” wrote McCall. SMH, still trolling. What do YOU think about Kevin McCall’s response to Eva Marcille’s pregnancy???

BOSSIP Exclusive: DeWanda Wise Talks Bringing Nola Darling to 2017 In “She’s Gotta Have It” On Netflix

DeWanda Wise Talks “She’s Gotta Have It” On Netflix By now, you’re probably already on seconds and maybe just beginning to binge on Netflix’s new Spike Lee joint, “She’s Gotta Have It,” an updated, more fleshed out version of the 1986 classic film that dropped its first season today. If you’re unfamiliar, the story follows the dating life of Nola Darling, as she juggles three men in a rapidly changing Brooklyn neighborhood. We caught up with actress DeWanda Wise, the new Nola Darling , at the show’s official premiere and asked her who Nola Darling is in the new era, the pressures of portraying an iconic character, and what it’s like doing all those steamy sex scenes with a hubby at home: You had some pretty big shoes to fill playing an urban icon like Nola Darling. What did you feel that you had to do differently in this role to update Nola for 2017? Thankfully, they didn’t shoot this show episode-by-episode. I had all ten (scripts) so, I had a real chance to go through and do some work. Spike was super open, because one of the main things was updating some of the language — little things, nuance, behavior. [If I changed something] Spike would just walk up and say “What’d you say? What’s that mean? Oh, okay.” It was a collaboration. Just trusting my voice and trusting my expertise as a Black woman figuring sh*t out in 2017. DeWanda also weighed in on the difference in the ‘norm’ of how women date 30 years after the original film… Being that dating around and having multiple partners is much less taboo now than it was in 1986, what do you feel like a modern woman– who may even be in a similar situation herself — could take away from Nola’s story in this day an age? I think what’s revolutionary about Nola — in BOTH iterations of Nola, and ours specifically — is how transparent she is. And once you get to the tenth episode, you’ll see the full manifestation of that. I don’t want to call it a “lesson,” because that’s so preachy, but…it’s aspirational. It’s definitely inspiring because, it’s one thing to have a roster and date multiple people, but how are you doing it? Are you this person who’s out here like “Oh, I want to be in a relationship,” when really you don’t and [you have all these other people on the side]? It’s really that, getting to this point of ‘say what you mean and mean what you say?’ Hit the flip for more… Getty/WENN

From Khadijah James To Joan Clayton – Classic Black TV Characters Who Paved The Way For ‘Insecure’

See the original post:

We can all agree the Insecure , HBO’s hit comedy series from the brilliant Issa Rae, is absolutely everything! It’s relevant, relatable and offers a hilarious and heartbreaking look at modern love and relationships. With its second season recently ending and work already being done on the third, Insecure is already a pop culture phenomenon. However, while the character of Issa Dee is hilariously awkward in her quest to navigate the tricky waters of love, friendships and career, let’s not forget those classic TV characters who paved the way. Long before there was Insecure , there were the classic black TV characters from the plethora of black TV shows from the 80s, 90s and early 00s. Classic sitcoms like Living Single , Girlfriends and A Different World are just a few of the shows featuring female characters that strived to have it all…even if circumstances or themselves kept getting in the way. Let’s take a look at some of the most iconic TV characters who made it possible for Insecure ’s Issa Dee to be so beloved! Khadijah James – Living Single : Before there was Sex and the City , before there was Friends , there was this iconic 90s sitcom about four friends living in a NYC brownstone (well Max didn’t technically live there) and trying to make their dreams come true. Of the four ladies (including Regine, Sinclair and Maxine) Khadijah James, played by the always amazing Queen Latifah, was the ultimate girl boss of all. She was fiercely independent, often refusing help as she ran her own magazine Flavor , was loyal to her friends, but wouldn’t hesitate to dish out tough love, she often acted as the voice of reason and had just as many problems in her love life as her three best friends. Khadijah James was the perfect example that even those who appear to have it all together, still fall down occasionally as they navigate this thing called life, often with a combination of laughter and tears. Joan Clayton – Girlfriends : If you were really paying attention during the very first episode of Insecure , then you noticed the cute homage that was paid to the classic series Girlfriends , which Issa Rae has said was a big inspiration for the show. Like Living Single , Girlfriends was also about four friends, but with a more modern millennium take, as the show premiered in 2000. Of all the girlfriends, none were more career-orientated, awkward, neurotic, frustrating, lovable and funny than Joan Clayton, played beautifully by Tracee Ellis Ross. Joan wanted nothing more than to have the fairytale relationship, perfect career and be the ideal friend to everyone—too bad she continued to get in her own way at every turn, ensuring her outcome would be the opposite of what she intended. No matter how many times Joan came up short she always dusted herself off and went full speed ahead into her next adventure…exactly how Issa operates on Insecure . Whitley Gilbert, Freddie Brooks, Kimberly Reese – A Different World : This trio of ladies from the still relevant and forever iconic TV show A Different World , represented practically all of the emotional, professional and financial ups and downs you face as you become an adult. Whitley, Freddie and Kim were all very different personality-wise, but their awkward, hilarious and at times touching struggles, as college students who eventually graduate and truly begin to face life’s obstacles, were quite similar. Whitley realized that she had to grow up in order to find her Prince Charming, her dream job and have long-lasting friendships. Kim had to learn to make room for her fierce dedication, education, love life and friends to all coexist in the same space. Freddie had to understand that being different and following your own path doesn’t mean that you have to alienate yourself from others and that true friends will accept all your eccentricities. These all are rites of passage that most of us have dealt with at some point, which is why these classic characters will always have relevancy. Pamela James – Martin : Sure, Gina was the female lead on the legendary FOX sitcom Martin , but she was in a relationship for the entire series, meaning viewers never got to see her as a single girl. This is why her best friend Pam was the one to look to, as she had the most romantic rollercoaster ride of any of the cast members. She was constantly teased about not having a man, but Pam rarely let Martin and his boys get her down for long. Pam was sexy, stylish, sassy and she refused to settle for anything less, which was such a strong testament to 90s female TV characters. Viewers may not have gotten to see Pam get married, although we did get to see her boo’d up with Tommy for a bit, but she didn’t need to be because she was the single representation of two girlfriends while Gina was the committed half—that’s what you call the perfect balance. Teri Joseph – Soul Food (TV series): Where to begin with Soul Food ’s Teri Joseph. She was the classic overachieving, Type-A personality that was the first one to call when you were in trouble, but had the worst track record with love. Twice divorced, but finding unexpected love with a man who was younger and initially worked as a courier, attorney Teri faced multiple obstacles in her relationship—watching closely as her married, younger sisters faced their own troubles. Teri didn’t need anyone and because she was so used to being everyone’s savior it was hard for her to open up and let someone else take care of her. This is a situation that many modern career women face, and although Issa’s Insecure character hasn’t directly faced this issue, her best friend Molly likely has or will soon. Melanie Barnett – The Game : When it comes to modern TV romances, few characters had as many messy situations, false starts and stops and non-stop drama as The Game ’s Melanie “Med School” Barnett. The show’s long-running romantic saga of Melanie and her professional NFL boyfriend Derwin was the most dramatic and addictive part of the series. Melanie made so many mistakes that we all fall victim to in our 20s, but as hilarious and painful as it was to watch, it proved to be so relatable because of its imperfections. From moving cross-country to follow her boyfriend and ultimately finding him cheating with someone else to having a “hoe phase” like Issa and finally marrying her soulmate, Melanie navigated through it all through tears, laughter, her girlfriends and finally learning to stand on her own two feet. Olivia Pope – Scandal : It may not be a comedy like the other shows, but ABC’s Scandal has enough relationship drama to last a lifetime. Let’s just get it out of the way, Olivia Pope is a boss in every sense of the word (she practically runs Washington,) but her personal life is often in shambles. It once again proves that love is that often tricky area of life where even the most poised and polished of women have trouble. Issa cheated on her boyfriend with an old classmate, while Olivia was having a long-standing affair with the then-married POTUS. Their worlds may be miles apart, but their relationship issues are perhaps more similar than one would imagine. With Scandal nearing the end of its runs, fans are eagerly wondering if everyone’s favorite fixer will get her happy ending. Mary Jane Paul – Being Mary Jane : While only on the air a few years longer than Insecure , it’s hard not to notice how Mary Jane Paul and Issa Dee both have a lock on who can find themselves in the messiest romance scenarios. Mary Jane may not share Issa awkwardness, but she definitely shares her insecurities of not feeling good enough…in work or in love. Also like Issa, just when you think Mary Jane is finally about to get her rainbow at the end of her storm, the other shoe drops and she’s right back at square one. DON’T MISS: Stork Alert! It’s A Wrap: Jennifer Hudson Splits From Fiance David Otunga After 10 Years, Gets Order Of Protection Against Him

Jennifer Hudson And David Otunga Split Things are officially over between Jennifer Hudson and her fiance of 9 years, wrestler/lawyer David Otunga. Jennifer revealed the split via a statement to People Magazine , stating that the break-up has been ongoing, but J.Hud finally put her foot down and Otunga out of the house today. “They have been in the process of ending their relationship for a number of months. Today, Jennifer requested and received a protective order against her ex-fiancé. Jennifer’s actions are solely taken in the best interest of their son.” Damn, we wonder what was going on the reason that Jennifer felt the need to get an official protective order against him? This might explain a bit why she was being such a handful on the set of The Voice for the past few months.

Bella Thorne Gets A Salad Dressing Facial

I keep forgetting that Bella Thorne is technically a “pop star.” But I’m pretty sure the reason she’s on this track and in this music video has nothing to do with her voice and a lot more to do with her twerking and willingness to get covered in creamy salad dressing. Anyway, normally I recommend you guys watch the music videos I post on mute, but you should listen to this one, because this could be the worst song I’ve ever heard. I’m not even sure it qualifies as music. WTF? » view all 19 photos

Lady Gaga and Christian Carino: Engaged!

While not every lady spends her days gazing forlornly out the window, hoping that a dashing man will come by and sweep her off her feet, that’s still a perfectly acceptable way of finding your happiness. And it looks like happiness has found Lady Gaga. Remember reports that Christian Carino asked Lady Gaga’s father for his blessing to marry Lady Gaga? Well, guess what?! Us Weekly reports that Lady Gaga and Christian Carino are engaged ! So, as we told you back in July, Christian Carino was spending time with Lady Gaga and her family. Not every boyfriend — even serious ones — gets along with his girlfriend’s family, but apparently Christian didn’t have a hard time getting along with Gaga’s family. We were admittedly feeling less than comfortable with the report that he asked Lady Gaga’s father for his blessing to propose to her. There’s a lot about that antiquated custom that speaks of unequal gender dynamics. Basically, we tend to associate that sort of thing with, say, the Duggar fertility cult, where daughters are the property of their father until he agrees to transfer that property to an approved husband. (Gross) But it may be that Christian Carino was just testing the waters and making sure that he wasn’t going to upset Lady Gaga’s relatives and that they didn’t think that he was taking advantage of her somehow. After all, Christian Carino and Lady Gaga started dating back in February. That is not a long time to be in a relationship. Whatever it was, it apparently went over well — because they apparently got engaged over the summer. We hope that news about that breaking didn’t spoil whatever surprise Christian Carino had planned. Us reports that the couple’s current focus is, of course, on Lady Gaga’s health . Lady Gaga has fibromyalgia, which you’ve probably heard about through commercials for prescription medicines if nowhere else. Fibromyalgia is an agonizing illness that causes widespread muscle pain and tenderness. Other symptoms can include fatigue, memory problems, and mood shifts and disorders. Fibromyalgia is a chronic ailment, meaning that it can come and go with flare-ups that are difficult if not impossible to predict. Chronic illnesses absolutely suck, folks. We don’t know how many symptoms Lady Gaga is experiencing with fibromyalgia. Every patient is different. She’s currently focused upon recovery. Honestly, we think that it’s great that Christian Carino and Lady Gaga are engaged even with this knowledge. Unfortunately, a lot of people — whether they’re dating or married — seem to step back when their partner develops an illness. Chronic ailments, in particular, seem to send some loved ones running for the hills. It’s sad, but true. Just look at the suspicious timing of The Weeknd ending things with Selena Gomez . Reports say that he started to lose interest right around when she got her kidney transplant. We’re really rooting for Lady Gaga and Christian Carino, though. Maybe they’ll take that whole “in sickness and in health” thing seriously. Lady Gaga has done so much good for the world. We don’t just mean her music, though good music makes the world a better place just by spreading passion, art, inspiration, and joy. She’s been a prominent proponent of LGBT+ rights from day one, using her voice and platform to stand up for minority rights has done an incalculable amount of good for the world. She deserves good in her life and she deserves love. We just look forward to when she and Christian confirm this with an announcement. But that will come at a time of their choosing.
