Charlie Sheen RIPS Phil Robertson: Apologize to Gay Community OR ELSE!

Charlie Sheen is TAKING IT to Phil Robertson, saying he had better apologize for his crude anti-gay comments or face a media storm like he wouldn’t believe. As reported earlier, A&E made the controversial decision to suspend Robertson from Duck Dynasty largely because of the gay employees at the network. Clearly, Sheen agrees with that move, but he’s not satisfied. Days after Phil likened called gays immoral sinners (among many other things, in much coarser wording) in GQ, the actor tore into him in a Twitter tirade : “Hey Mallard brained Phil Robertson! you have offended and hurt so many dear friends of mine, who DO NOT have the voice or the outreach that I do.” “Well news flash shower-dodger, I will speak loudly and clearly for ALL of them.” “So, just when your desperately sub evolved ass thought the pressure was off, you are in the crosshairs of a MaSheen style media beat down.” (I’ll try to keep the big words to a minimum as not to confuse you).” “Your statements were and are abhorrently and mendaciously unforgivable.” “The idea that you have a job outside of dirt-clod stacking is a miracle. the only ‘Dynasty’ you are attached to might be the re-runs of that dated show.” “The only thing you should ever be in charge of building is a hole in the ground the exact size of your head.” “Perhaps your beard would fit as well if you plucked out the army of scabies and bull weevils sequestered deep in it’s sarcophagus of dander and weasel pelts.” “Shame on you. You’re the only surviving brain donor I’ve ever known.” Sheen, 47, concluded by demanding that Robertson, 67, make “serious amends” to those he “radically offended,” and that he is “repulsed” by him. Duck Dynasty Cast Issues Statement, Stands By Phil Robertson Phil Robertson Suspension, Anti-Gay Backlash A&E suspended Phil Robertson over the comments made in the January issue of GQ, in which he shared his thoughts on homosexuality and morality. “Everything is blurred on what’s right and what’s wrong,” he said. “Sin becomes fine. Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. “Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men.” “Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers.” “They won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.” The extremely popular Duck Dynasty cast has since issued a statement insinuating that they won’t keep doing the show without patriarch Phil at the helm. Robertson has been suspended, not fired, and the show has not been canceled. Several marathons are taking place this holiday season, in fact. If we had to guess, the network is hoping Phil will apologize for his remarks – not his religious believes, but the way he packaged them in this case. Clearly, Charlie Sheen is among those who think that should be a given. What do you think: Should Phil apologize for his comments?   Yes. I respect his free speech and religious views, but he offended people. No. It’s his opinion! Don’t bow to the pressure, Phil! View Poll » And choose your side :   Team Charlie Team Phil View Poll »

Group Lovin’ Gone Wrong: NY Woman Beaten To Death By Her Married Couple Live-In Lovers

This is a crazy story that should serve as a cautionary tale to people considering polyamorous relationships . When they go wrong they can be fatal. According to NY Times reports : Sheryl Outerbridge, a 38-year-old mother of three, was buried last Wednesday in New Jersey, hours after her funeral service in Harlem. One of the suspects in her death, Devonnee Wilkerson, was arrested and charged with kidnapping and assault; her husband, Malik Wilkerson, was in custody in Pittsburgh and awaiting extradition to New York, the police said. In a statement to the police, Ms. Wilkerson explained what precipitated the violent act. Ms. Outerbridge, she said, violated a cardinal rule of their relationship by getting a tattoo for her birthday: it said “Bish Baby,” Ms. Wilkerson’s pet name for her husband. “There are boundaries not to cross,” Ms. Wilkerson told the police.” SMH. And this is why these situations go wrong. Someone is always the odd person out in these love triangles and not everyone is able to handle the rejection, but apparently the relationship started out more promising. A close friend, Nicole Irving, recalled that Ms. Outerbridge had met Malik Wilkerson at a party over three years ago, and confided that she had an abusive boyfriend whom she was afraid to leave. Mr. Wilkerson confronted the boyfriend and scared him off, Ms. Irving said. Shortly after, Mr. Wilkerson, who was known as Bishop, moved into Ms. Outerbridge’s small Harlem apartment. So did his wife. Known as Phoenix, Ms. Wilkerson had long dreadlocks and gaunt features behind wire-rimmed spectacles; they were a sharp contrast to Ms. Outerbridge’s round face, full lips and glossy hair. The two women appeared close: Ms. Outerbridge’s Facebook page is packed with photos of their exploits. There were visits to meet the celebrity chef Bobby Flay at Bobby’s Burger Palace in Garden City, N.Y., where Ms. Wilkerson worked; and trips to Rockaway Beach. There they snapped a self-portrait, Mr. Wilkerson between them. Ms. Outerbridge was plain about her new lifestyle, once bringing the man she called the Don to a family cookout. When the Wilkersons moved back to the two-family vinyl-sided house owned by their relatives in South Jamaica, Queens, their new girlfriend came with them. She had her own room in the untidy two-bedroom apartment. Are we the only ones wondering where Sheryl’s three kids were in all this? With their dad or another relative? It’s sad those kids have to be without a mother, especially because there were warning signs: As frank as Ms. Outerbridge was about her three-way relationship, she tried to keep its brutal reality to herself, but that became increasingly difficult. She would return to her Harlem apartment with black eyes, a split lip, “a small map of Texas on her cheek, like somebody took the cigarette and dragged it up her face,” Ms. Irving said. Last month, Ms. Outerbridge told another friend, Tasheka Neal, 31, that Mr. Wilkerson had broken her jaw. She suggested that the love triangle was lopsided — she indicated to her friends that her true relationship was with the man, and that his wife simply capitulated to his will. Her forays to Harlem and her pet cat there never lasted long. “When she would come home, they would come and show up and knock on her door,” said Ms. Irving, referring to the Wilkersons. They would order Ms. Outerbridge back to Queens. On Monday, Dec. 2, Ms. Outerbridge fled the Wilkersons, and they wanted her back. Mr. Wilkerson began calling many of Ms. Outerbridge’s friends, his voice breaking with rage when they answered. He told them he suspected she was with other men. According to a transcript of statements Ms. Wilkerson made to the police, the Wilkersons drove around Queens in the Town and Country, searching for Ms. Outerbridge in the dark of Tuesday morning. They found her at a train station in Jamaica, and forcefully took her to their home in Queens. Her clothes came off. Visible, on her buttock, was the new tattoo she had gotten for her birthday in late October. “She should have never gotten that tattoo, because I am his wife and that kind of tattoo is reserved for me,” Ms. Wilkerson told the police. The couple beat Ms. Outerbridge in turns, first pummeling her temples, then battering her legs with the paint roller, still lying in the house. Her pleas for help were accompanied by calls of “Daddy,” Ms. Wilkerson’s pet name for her husband, enraging his wife further. “I snapped again,” she told detectives. “That was another boundary not to cross.” Ms. Wilkerson told the police she threw a beer bottle at Ms. Outerbridge’s head, and jabbed a lit cigarette into her skin. Then they beat her some more, using fists and a hammer, and left her close to death on the floor. The next morning, Ms. Wilkerson said, she and another man took Ms. Outerbridge to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The other man, who has not been identified, was said to be cooperating with the police. Based on Mr. Wilkerson’s phone calls the night before the killing, some speculated that he might have been crazed by the prospect of her seeing other men. But his wife’s fury had a different root. Toward the end of her questioning by detectives, Ms. Wilkerson admitted something she had kept to herself to that point. “I know,” she said, “Malik had fallen in love with Sheryl.” This is like something straight from “Snapped.” SMH. R.I.P. to that poor woman. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

Lady Gaga Covers Glamour, Slams Photoshop Use

Lady Gaga is not a fan of excessive Photoshop on her magazine photos. She makes this very clear in the new issue of Glamour , which she covers. At Glamour’s 2013 Women of the Year Awards, the December cover girl accepted her award with a sharp critique of Glamour ‘s Lady Gaga photos . Speaking at Carnegie Hall, Lady Gaga said that, like fellow honoree Malala Yousafzai , she was going to use her voice to speak up about her cover. “I felt my skin looked too perfect. I felt my hair looked too soft,” said the star of the images. “I do not look like this when I wake up in the morning.” Speaking slowly and carefully, Gaga made it clear that the way covers like this are tweaked and smoothed can have damaging effects on readers. She urged young people to “fight back against the forces that say you have to be beautiful,” and called for the publications themselves to change: “It is fair to write about the change in magazines. But what I want to see is the change on covers… When the covers change, that’s when culture changes.” It’s a theme that’s becoming more and more common lately, in response to airbrushing techniques that seem to be getting more and more overt. Some say the idealization of unrealistic female bodies, in particular, can be problematic for today’s youth – and that image doctoring is a primary culprit. Gaga’s outspoken critique of the overuse of photoshop (as we saw in a great video starring Sally Gifford Piper ), is a bold move, by any measure. Especially given that the superstar was receiving an award from the very magazine she was critiquing, her point was even more vivid and noteworthy. Lady Gaga’s overarching message, though, was more broad and abstract – pro-acceptance, particularly of people’s quirks, tastes and appearances. What do you think? Will stars like Gaga speaking out against airbrushing make a difference? And is there even a difference that needs to be made? Share your comments with THG below …

Lady Gaga Loves to Piss Off Madonna

Lady Gaga is, or at least was, more than happy to ruffle Madonna’s feathers over her hit song “Born This Way,” she reveals in an interview with Attitude. “I have to be really honest, I was completely kind of floored that Madonna was singing my song on her stage every night!” Mother Monster recalled. “I’m not thinking about anybody but me and my fans when I’m on stage.” Lady Gaga Speaks on Madonna Feud Madonna took to performing a mashup of “Born This Way” and “Express Yourself ” (her old hit) during live concerts last year, as a means of making a point. The songs  share a similar beat and melody, but Gaga says “the fact that I was on her mind at all … I mean, Madonna’s … she’s Madonna. I looked up to her for a long time.” “I’m not quite sure what her intention was, but I don’t really care. All it meant to me was that Madonna Ciccone was singing my song on her stage and I’m 27!” “I think playing into the gossip of the tabloids and, I guess the fodder of the competition, that’s just not what I’m about.” “She chooses to use her voice the way she chooses to use hers,” Gaga went on, “and I choose to use mine the way I use mine.” “And as a punk-rocker from New York, I’ve basically been hoping that I would become so good that one day I would piss off Madonna!” “I truthfully believe that was nothing about those records sounding alike, and everything about this gay icon versus gay icon [is] nonsense,” she adds. “I don’t need to take anybody’s torch … I have no interest in anybody’s torch. This need for competition was everything that ‘Born This Way’ isn’t about!” Gaga has addressed her dispute with Madonna before, but has mainly said to her fans that she was trying to stay above the fray and has not offered specifics. “That doesn’t make me feel good at all,” Gaga said about tearing others down. “That just makes me feel like I’m not a good human being.” “I don’t even want to fight back because it’s more important to me to keep writing music. Because that’s really all I care about, is the music.” “Things are really different than they were 25 years ago, and that’s what makes ‘Born This Way’ so relevant for me. We’re socially in a different place and it’s OK.” “We don’t have to all slice and hate each other anymore.” For more on Lady Gaga’s bisexuality , head to Attitude .

The Voice Recap: Knocked Out Cold

The Voice knockout round concluded during a two-hour Tuesday episode, with the singers picking their own songs and hoping to outperform a teammate. At stake? A spot in the live shows, starting next week. For the first time, each coach can steal during this sudden-death round as well. So who’s on to the finals and who’s going home with a broken dream? Let’s break down The Voice knockout round below! Lina Gaudenzi vs. Preston Pohl – The Voice Knockout Lina Gaudenzi vs. Preston Pohl (Team Adam) Gaudenzi opted for Etta James’ “I’d Rather Go Blind” to spotlight her, while Preston stayed upbeat with a rendition of Bob Marley’s “No Woman No Cry.” Both were strong performances and came down to a matter of taste, not a win on technical merit. And as such, Levine went with his gut and saved Pohl. WINNER: Preston! E.G. Daily vs. Ray Boudreaux – The Voice Knockout E.G. Daily vs. Ray Boudreaux (Team Blake) E.G., on Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me,” and Ray, Otis Redding’s “Hard to Handle,” were both solid, but Blake felt Boudreaux had better control. WINNER: Ray! Anthony Paul vs. Jacquie Lee – The Voice Knockout Anthony Paul vs. Jacquie Lee (Team Christina) Aguilera’s steal from Cee Lo’s team chose Jason Derulo’s “The Other Side,” which could not compare to Jacquie’s take on Serena Ryder’s “Stompa.” WINNER: Jacquie! Stephanie Anne Johnson vs. Tamara Chauniece – The Voice Knockout Stephanie Anne Johnson vs. Tamara Chauniece (Team Cee Lo) Green’s steal from Aguilera ended up back on her team after performing Norah Jones’ “Don’t Know Why” and losing this battle, despite her best efforts. The veteran gospel singer went for a reggae version of Alicia Keys’ “No One,” and was just too good in Cee Lo’s mind. But we’ll see both of them again. WINNER: Tamara! STEAL: Anne, by Christina! James Wolpert vs. Juhi – The Voice Knockout James Wolpert vs. Juhi (Team Adam) Boston’s “More Than A Feeling,” while shaky, was enough to get James through over Juhi’s take on Marvin Gaye’s “I Heard It Through the Grapevine.” WINNER: James! Austin Jenckes vs. Brandon Chase – The Voice Knockout Austin Jenckes vs. Brandon Chase (Team Blake) Jenckes changed the lyrics of Edwin McCain’s “I’ll Be” to reflect a father-son relationship and emoted more than enough to overshadow his lack of dynamics. Chase upped the range of Eli Young Band’s “Even If It Breaks Your Heart,” and left Shelton with a very touch call. In the end he chose to save Jenckes. WINNER: Austin! Caroline Pennell vs. George Horga Jr. – The Voice Knockout Caroline Pennell vs. George Horga Jr. (Team Cee Lo) The young indie pop singer initially stayed safe on Ingrid Michaelson’s “The Way I Am” in rehearsals, but Cee Lo pushed her to put power on the track. It worked. Green agreed that she won this knockout round and saved Caroline: “She realized herself today, and I think she knows that she’s a star.” WINNER: Caroline! Matthew Schuler vs. Will Champlin – The Voice Knockout Matthew Schuler vs. Will Champlin (Team Christina) Schuler took a big risk with Florence and the Machine’s “Cosmic Love.” Will added a raspy vulnerability to Bruno Mars’ hit “When I Was Your Man.” Going big paid off for both singers, as they earned standing ovations, Aguilera saved Schuler, and Levine pressed his button to steal back Champlin. WINNER: Matthew! STEAL: Will, by Adam! Were the right singers sent home? Who has the most talent? What coach has the best teams? Who do you think has the right stuff to win The Voice Season 5?
