Here’s something to add to the pile of things in life that’ll make you feel old: Green Day ‘s new music video for “The Forgotten,” their single from the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 soundtrack. You read that right: The punk rockers, who once repped a generation of slackers with songs about masturbating and smoking weed, are now in bed with Twilight . Not that Green Day’s mainstream streak is anything new; they’ve played to the masses since making it big on MTV in the mid-90s, they have their own Broadway musical, and frontman Billie Joe Armstrong ( who recently checked into rehab ) just guest-starred on The Voice , any of which would be reasons alone for a revocation of that punk card. Suffice to say the Green Day that got their start at Berkeley, CA’s gloriously dingy 924 Gilman decades ago isn’t quite the same Green Day singing about Bella Swan’s undead transformation into a vampire as faux-home movies of Edward Cullen playing the piano for his monster baby play in the background. Because that’s basically what the music video for “The Forgotten” is. Sample lyric: “Don’t look away from the arms of love.” On the contrary — look away! Look away! Get More: Green Day , The Forgotten , Music , More Music Videos The Twilight films have historically nabbed pretty great and surprising artists for their soundtracks, so this isn’t a stretch for the franchise. Christina Aguilera is not one to hold back her cleavage opinion. At the Billboard/Hollywood Reporter Film & TV Conference yesterday, the artist took to the microphone as the keynote speaker and blasted pretty much everyone in sight. Sort of. On The Voice vs. American Idol : “I’ve not actually seen a full episode of any of the other music shows. I saw the commercials early on of American Idol of Simon being a dick. I was like, ‘Man, that’s not what it’s about!’ I didn’t want to treat people like that. I wanted to do The Voice to show that we can be positive. We don’t have to knock people down.” On bloggers : “Now everyone is a critic. I don’t read blogs. It’s just God-knows-who in Buttfuck wherever writing hate shit. You can’t take it seriously. I’m sure you’ve all been hated on at some point by buttfuck people. It’s real talk today.” On her fellow judges : “We’ve got a chemistry like a family. Everyone knows me and Adam [Levine] can bicker and get on each other’s case. Cee-Lo is just cool, he comes from a real artistic value place. Blake [Shelton] is just a good old time. He’s become my big bro.” On her raw power : “It’s hard being such a powerful woman in the business. I’m known for not always being warm and fuzzy, because you’ll just get bulldozed over…. In my music, I come off as being very open about being insecure, vulnerable and sensitive sometimes. Then I’ll go onstage and be this powerhouse force to be reckoned with.”

SMH! Immigrant Florida Voters Told They Can’t Vote Residents in 23 Florida counties report getting letters questioning their citizenship. Via Loop 21 : Residents in Florida have reported getting official-looking letters telling them that their citizenship is in question. The letters are fake, but they have gone out to predominately Republican voters where GOP officials have led efforts to keep those who are not citizens from registering to vote. The letters have been reported in 23 counties so far and Department of State spokesman Chris Cate said it looks like an attempt to intimidate voters. Republican Gov. Rick Scott, who pushed for the purge of noncitizens in the state, said Florida has “zero tolerance” for voter intimidation. “Anytime anybody’s trying to prevent somebody from voting that’s a serious issue,” Scott said. “We’ll get to the bottom of it. We’ll turn over any violations of law to law enforcement. I expect law enforcement to prosecute those individuals.” Florida’s Cubans, about half of the Latino population in the state, typically vote Republican. New Cuban immigrants also can become legal residents and US citizens simply by getting to the country because of the so-called “wet foot, dry foot” policy. This is just ridiculous! People want to keep “certain” demographics from voting this election year, only because they realize how powerful our voice is. How to report fake letters : Escambia County: Any voter who receives such a letter in Escambia County should retain the envelope and all contents, and call the Escambia County Supervisor of Elections office at 595-3900 to report it. Santa Rosa County: If anyone in Santa Rosa receives such a letter, call the Santa Rosa County Supervisor of Elections office at 983-1900.

Now that’s what you call good publicity! Tom Hanks of all people dropped an F-bomb on Good Morning America this morning (video below!), shocking GMA host Elizabeth Vargas and putting the epic, arty Cloud Atlas on the map with those four little letters. Well done! If I had to wager I’d place Hanks as one of Hollywood’s top three most beloved stars, so I’m 99% sure our glorious nation of moralistic, upstanding, non-swearing citizens forgave him on the spot when he subsequently cranked up that Hanks charm and apologized “to the kids of America that are watching this right now.” Yes, all of those GMA-watching youngsters, Tom. To be fair Vargas pressed Hanks into doing his Cloud Atlas Cockney accent, which makes his Cloud Atlas pidgin English accent sound like Shakespeare. Hanks even protested a bit, explaining that his British voice consists pretty much only of foul language. But no matter: LIZ VARGAS WANTED THE VOICE! If you ask me, Hanks’s f***in’ slip up was a great happy accident, the perfect stunt for getting the masses interested in the Wachowskis and Tom Tykwer ‘s massively ambitious film . ” Tom Hanks plays multiple characters?
