Scarborough: POTUS Entitled to ‘Happy Place’ But Boehner Has Bad Work Ethic

On day 72 of the continued Gulf of Mexico oil spill, “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough decided to open the show by continuing to bash Minority Leader John Boehner’s work ethic. This assault comes just ten days after his assertion that he wants his leader to have a “happy place to go to” and there is no problem with, “the president golfing every Sunday.” The former Republican congressman, who quit his job, ridiculed Boehner, saying “everybody on Capitol Hill knows about John Boehner, he’s not exactly the hardest worker in the world. He’s a guy that likes golf, and he’s a guy that likes, you know, socializing.” Scarborough made sure to address that even though he doesn’t know John Boehner personally, he was just “reporting” what he heard on the Hill. To Scarborough this analysis was imperative because, “If you’re going to bend history, if you’re going to pick up 40, 45 seats, it’s a 24/7 job.” So, let me get Scarborough’s math straight. Being the Minority Leader in the House of Representatives, a position of somewhat limited power, is a 24/7 job. But, the position of President of the United States, the “Leader of the Free Word,” is about a 6 day a week job and requires a “happy place to go to?”

Can $46 Million Buy An Energy Monopoly? Not In California

photo via flickr In a fight that showed the flaws in California’s ballot initiative process and the sheer nerve of PG&E, the state’s largest utility, clean energy and local control has won. Proposition 16, which would have change California’s constitution to force cities and counties to get the approval of two-thirds of their voters before using public money to invest in local energy projects or utilities. PG&E spent over $46 million on the effort, which would have ensured its monopoly. … Read the full story on TreeHugger

Snooki, Tom Felton, Jessica Alba Rock Twitter During 2010 MTV Movie Awards

Stars give a behind-the-scenes glimpse at what was going on during the big show. By Brian Warmoth Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty Images Fans weren’t the only ones tweeting throughout the 2010 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night — plenty of the show’s stars took to Twitter as well, and we were watching. Everyone from Best Villain winner Tom Felton to the “Jersey Shore” crew posted about what went on from where they were sitting. Jessica Alba offered props to show host Aziz Ansari , tweeting a compressed mini-review of his stint as the show’s on-stage ringmaster. “Aziz killed it 2nite as host 4 MTV movie awards,” Alba tweeted. “Tom Cruise dancing = hilarious & Ken Jeong was out of control funny. Gd times.” Elizabeth Banks also tweeted about Ansari taking her on-the-ground commentary a step further by letting everyone know what he looked and smelled like in person. “Fun after party for @azizansari after MTV Movie Awards,” the “Zack and Miri Make a Porno” actress said. “Aziz was big pimping in his white tux. He also smelled vaguely of olives.” Ansari’s most vivid tweet came after seeing the star of from “The Karate Kid” remake. “Jaden Smith went buckwild during my monologue!!!,” he wrote. “Hahahaha. This is nuts.” “Harry Potter” star Tom Felton initially focused on thanking the voters who helped secure his award for the night, but then got into the heckling he received from Mark Wahlberg (who was hanging from the stage’s rafters with Will Ferrell for a jokey stunt during the award presentation) during his acceptance speech. “Thank you for a truly unforgettable evening! Had a great night! Thank you so much for every single vote! THANKYOU!!! X,” he wrote, “and a big thank you to Mark Wahlberg for co-writing my acceptance speech, we got together a couple of days ago and wrote that little skit x.” He quickly tagged the Wahlberg reference as a joke, though. “I was joking about the Wahlberg speech! I was a bit stumped by the situation but did my best, not an everyday occurrence x,” he explained. Wahlberg apologized to Felton for the interruption — in front of MTV News’ cameras — shortly after the show. Tom Cruise’s account , which is mostly maintained by his personal staff, produced a few photos of the show and congratulated Kirsten Stewart, Sandra Bullock and Robert Pattinson on their accolades. Elsewhere, Snooki and the Hilton sisters shared a few photo ops and sounded excited to see each other. “The Hilton sistas! Love you bitches!” Snooki wrote after bumping into Paris and Nicky and capturing the moment via TweetPhoto . Nicky even returned the love with a response shortly thereafter. “We love you too!” the younger Hilton wrote. So even if the “Jersey Shore” cast hasn’t managed to earn any big-screen nominations just yet, at least one of them has been making new friends. Did we miss any? Ken Jeong Brings Laughter And Tears To The MTV Movie Awards

‘The Hangover’ star delivers a touching acceptance speech for Best WTF Moment. By Josh Wigler Ken Jeong poses with his award for Best WTF Moment in the press room at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards Photo: Getty Images At the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, the evening’s most horrifying and most touching moments were provided by the same person: Ken Jeong, the comedian whose star is on the rise thanks to his portrayal of Korean crime boss Mr. Chow in “The Hangover.” Jeong’s first memorable moment came when he and fellow “Hangover” star Ed Helms appeared onstage together to perform “Stu’s Song,” the piano tune played famously by Helms’ character in the 2009 comedy. While Helms handled the music, Jeong paraded around the stage wearing a skintight and all-too-revealing leopard-print leotard. Although the performance yielded several laughs from the audience, it also drew the fictionalized ire of Les Grossman, the “Tropic Thunder” movie executive. Eventually, an enraged Grossman — the alleged producer of the show — hijacked the performance with a dance number opposite Jennifer Lopez, driving Jeong and Helms off the stage. But that wasn’t the end of Jeong’s evening, as the actor later won the Best WTF Moment award for his famous “Hangover” scene where he emerges from the trunk of a car wearing absolutely nothing. “Me and my penis would love to thank MTV and the voters,” the elated Jeong joked. “This is quite an honor.” Jeong went on to thank numerous parties, including his parents and “The Hangover” director Todd Phillips, before turning to a more personal topic: his wife Tran’s recent battle with breast cancer. “Todd and Bradley Cooper, a good friend of mine, actually helped me through a really difficult time when my wife was going through breast cancer treatment,” a tearful Jeong told the audience. “The reason why I [appeared in ‘The Hangover’] is that she taught me that life is short, so don’t be afraid to take chances.” The crowd erupted with applause at the news that Jeong’s wife has been cancer-free for two years. Not willing to leave the stage on such a somber note, Jeong slipped into his “Hangover” persona’s shoes and flipped off the audience with the character’s signature flamboyance: “Thank you, motherf—ers!” Relive the wildest, funniest and most-jaw-dropping moments of the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, watch revealing red-carpet interviews and get exclusive movie clips after the show at MovieAwards.MTV.com. Latest Update: Gordon Brown’s “Bigot” Comment Might Change Voters’ Minds

According to information, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown is under great pressure after saying Bigot to a woman. While discussing the immigration issue with a woman, Brown said Bigot to her. People present in the event heard what he said. Later on, Brown gave emphasis regarding his concern about the immigration issue and admitted to have used the wrong word. He was trying to manage the situation which he created after his comment. After the incident, many supporters are dismayed to what their leader had said in front of the public. The 88 year old lady who voted to Labour Party over her life said she was so disappointed by the comment of Gordon Brown. The embarrassing mistake he committed can have an effect upon the party’s position and it may even take voters to stay away from them. A rapid increase is reflected in the graph of anti-Labour. It has currently reached to 45% from 15%. Today’s debate is considered as the last chance for Gordon Brown to regain party position. Some experts would say that it is an electoral suicide. It’s the time to justify yourself rather than use comments to people. American Idol Performances of the Week: Michael Lynche and Lee DeWyze

Fans will ultimately have the final say, but to THG, Michael Lynche and Lee DeWyze stood out most on American Idol Tuesday. The judges were certainly impressed. In fact, Simon Cowell said that it was his cover of India.Arie’s “Ready for Love” that finally made him a credible artist in his eyes. For the surly Brit, that’s saying a lot. Slowing things down with an acoustic guitar, Big Mike sounded great and wowed the panel and audience alike. We’re pretty sure the voters will turn out for this, too. Here’s Michael Lynche singing “Ready For Love” … Ready For Love Lee DeWyze also made a statement last night, perhaps propelling himself to contender status with a soulful, raspy, powerhouse rendition of “Treat Her Like a Lady.” “This was the night your life may have changed forever,” Simon said. Again, high praise from the man. Follow the jump to see Lee do his version of the classic … Treat Her Like a Lady

Nicole Scherzinger Scores Highest On ‘Dancing With The Stars’

The Pussycat Doll’s jive earned a 28 out of 30 on Monday’s show. By Jocelyn Vena Nicole Scherzinger (file) Photo: Chris Weeks/ Getty Images On Tuesday night (March 30), the first dancers will eliminated from the 10th season of “Dancing With the Stars,” but it looks like Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger will be pretty safe this week. On Monday night’s show, Scherzinger and her dance partner Derek Hough walked away with a score of 28 — and there’s little chance the voters at home will disagree with the judges’ assessment of their jive. Judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli all gave shining reviews of Scherzinger’s shimmy, calling it “well done,” “phenomenal” and “perfection.” “Derek. S.O.S. Jive. Spray tan. Silver costumes. Ponytail. Great shoes. Perfection,” Inaba said after the routine, done to Rihanna’s “S.O.S.” Scherzinger’s fear of competition from fellow sex symbol Pam Anderson may be unfounded. Anderson and partner Damien Whitewood only managed to muster up a 22. That still put her higher than Kate Gosselin (15), Chad Ochocinco (16), Buzz Aldrin (12) and soap star Aiden Turner (19). The judges did enjoy the way Anderson channeled Marilyn Monroe in her foxtrot. Tonioli called it “a well-executed, delicious tribute to the original blond bombshell.” The other contestants faired about on par with Anderson. Olympic figure-skater Evan Lysacek received a 24, comedian Niecy Nash managed a 21, “Bachelor” star Jake Pavelka a 20, ESPN reporter Erin Andrews got a 23, and Shannen Doherty received a 20. Who do you think will go home on Tuesday night? Who do you want to see stick around a little longer? Tell us in the comments! Related Artists Nicole Scherzinger
