Peter O’Toole Dies; Legendary Actor Was 81

Peter O’Toole, a veteran actor known for a variety of major movie roles, passed away in his sleep last night. He was 81 years old. A rep for the star confirms O’Toole was surrounded by friends and family members when he died at a London hospital, following a long battle with illness. O’Toole’s most memorable films include Lawrence of Arabia , Goodbye, Mr Chips and Venus . He holds the record for most Academy Award nominations without a win, though he was given an honorary Oscar in 2010. O’Toole announced his retirement from acting last year. “His family are very appreciative and completely overwhelmed by the outpouring of real love and affection being expressed towards him, and to us, during this unhappy time,” said daughter Kate, adding: “Thank you all, from the bottom of our hearts. In due course there will be a memorial filled with song and good cheer, as he would have wished.” We send our condolences to O’Toole’s loved ones.

South Park Season 17 Episode 10, the show’s season finale, was epic. Not just because we love Kim Kardashian and Kanye West here at The Hollywood Gossip … okay mostly for that reason. Boy did they get skewered! In the middle of the night, Wendy was woken up by ‘Ye, who snuck into her room to read her a story about a “hobbit” who dreamed of being beautiful. You can see where the show is going with this, most likely. “The Hobbit” was able to become beautiful through the power of Photoshop (although she’s still no Beyonce), in an installment you need to see to appreciate. Godzilla Trailer: Released, Action-Packed and Star-Studded!

The teaser trailer for Godzilla has just been released and fans’ first look at one of the most anticipated motion pictures of 2014 certainly doesn’t disappoint. The trailer shows a city under attack by the titular, dinosaur-like creature, with members of the military scrambling to respond to the beast and its antics. There’s even one frightening glimpse at the enormous creature itself: Godzilla Trailer (Teaser) Gareth Edwards’ take on the classic story/behemoth strives to be different, darker, bigger, and scarier, he ambitiously teased at this year’s Comic-Con. “There’s nothing sci-fi, it’s very grounded and realistic,” he said. “I’ve never worked this long and this hard on something that lasted just a few seconds since I lost my virginity.” Well played. The Godzilla cast includes Elizabeth Olsen, Breaking Bad ‘s Bryan Cranston, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Juliette Binoche and Sally Hawkins. Godzilla is due to hit theaters on May 16, 2014, pretty close to another large-scale sci-fi project. Check out this morning’s Jupiter Ascending trailer !

Either the women in Peter’s life are beyond airheaded, or they’re incredible actresses. Either way, something doesn’t add up, because they’re not like most women. Meanwhile, K. Michelle’s attitude? The Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer has hit the web, and in it, he battles not one, not two, but three villains in Electro, Rhino and the Green Goblin! We knew Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man would be taking on Jamie Foxx’s Electro and Paul Giamatti’s Rhino, but the trailer has made a new revelation. Dane DeHaan’s Harry Osborn provides another adversary for our hero as a Green Goblin of some kind. What other surprises lie in store for Peter Parker? The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Trailer Clearly, the great power and responsibility of being Spider-Man is starting to weigh on Peter, who notes, “The more people I try to save, the more enemies I get.” Very true. Wednesday night on Arrow Season 2 Episode 8, fans of the hit CW series were introduced to Barry Allen, a.k.a. The Flash, played by Grant Gustin. Suffice it to say, the fresh-faced Barry was quite intriguing to Felicity. Meanwhile, in the penultimate installment of 2013, Moira dealt with two major issues in being reintroduced to Starling City society, and with what to tell Thea. Finally, the Arrow himself was forced to take on a mystery intruder at Queen Consolidated who proved formidable to say the least. How did it all play out? You can see for yourself.
