Jada Pinkett Smith Reacts To Willow Smith Being Receptive To An Open Relationship With A Man And Woman

Read the original post:

J ada Pinkett Smith hosts “Red Table Talk” on Facebook where she, her mother Adrienne Banfield Norris and her 18-year-old daughter Willow Smith talk every topic possible. It’s a candid convo that gets extra real. Today, Willow dropped a bomb on her mom that gave her a bit of a jolt. READ MORE: Candace Owens Reportedly ‘Influenced’ New Zealand Mosque Terrorist The most recent episode was about open relationships with two guests invited on talking about their unique arrangement. Willow talked if that type of situation could work for her, saying,  “I love men and women equally and so I would definitely want one man, one woman.” She continued, “I feel like I could be polyfidelitous with those two people. I’m not the kind of person that is constantly looking for new sexual experiences. I focus a lot on the emotional connection and I feel like if I were to find two people of the different genders that I really connected with and we had a romantic and sexual connection, I don’t feel like I would feel the need to try to go find more.” She also could not see herself in a quadruple, adding, “Personally, male and female — that’s all I need,” she said. Jada looked a bit shocked and said, “How does that make you feel?” to her mom. She continued with laughter, “‘Cause I think my stomach just [makes turning motion].” She also said, “Listen, you know me, Willow. Whatever makes you happy. I always tell her, never be afraid. You have to live who you’re not to know who you are.” That’s what you call support — loving your child no matter what. Watch the show below, go to the 8:00 minute mark to see the exchange. While some people automatically equate disaster with open relationships, a 2018 study from the University of Guelph says the opposite. Co-author of the study Jessica Wood said, “We found people in consensual, non-monogamous relationships experience the same levels of relationship satisfaction, psychological well-being and sexual satisfaction as those in monogamous relationships.” She also said, “This debunks societal views of monogamy as being the ideal relationship structure. … In both monogamous and non-monogamous relationships, people who engage in sex to be close to a partner and to fulfill their sexual needs have a more satisfying relationship than those who have sex for less intrinsic reasons, such as to avoid conflict.” SEE ALSO: All The Ways Cops Are Still Trying To Cover Up LaQuan McDonald’s Execution Outrageous! Khloe Kardashian on KUWTK: Are You Buying Any of This?!?

Keeping Up with the Kardashians finally addressed the 6’10” elephant in the room on part one of its season finale last night. After weeks of hype, the penultimate episode focused entirely on the Tristan Thompson cheating scandal . The second  Tristan Thompson cheating scandal, that is; not the one in which he slept around while his girlfriend was pregnant… but the one during which he made out with his girlfriend’s close pal. View Slideshow: Khloe Kardashian Makes Stunning Admission, Says Tristan Thompson Threatened to Kill Himself As summarized above, the episode was raw and emotional and intense and also revealing — but was it also chock full of BS? Because here’s the thing: Yes, Tristan made out with Jordyn Woods several months ago. The latter has admitted it, the former has not denied it and Khloe Kardashian has ended the relationship over her baby daddy as a result of it. So there’s nothing to debate when it comes to how much Thompson sucks as a boyfriend. The guy totally and completely sucks as a boyfriend. This episode just piled everything on so darn thick that we have a bunch of questions over what we actually heard and learned. For instance: Khloe opened the installment by saying she was crazy sick, suffering through one migraine after another while actually throwing up blood. “Literally my whole head feels bruised because it’s been pounding for so long and it’s terrifying,” she told viewers, adding on air: “I’m supposed to go to Cleveland tomorrow to see Tristan, but the way I’m feeling right now, I don’t know if I can be on a flight like that. I’ve been throwing up blood. It’s so intense. I’m blind in my left eye.” We’re sorry, but: WHAT?!? Khloe is coughing up clood and has gone blind in one eye and is just sort of casually relaying this information to the camera? And we never once heard anything about this condition several months ago, back when this episode was allegedly filmed? Khloe alleged on the episode that she took a pregnancy test (it was negative) and that a doctor could not diagnose whatever the heck was supposedly going on with her. Elsewhere, Khloe made an allegation that created headlines across the Internet hours later: She told Scott Disick that Tristan actually threatened to commit suicide when confessing his sins to her over the phone. “He’s like, ‘I can’t stop thinking about you and what mess I have caused,’” she told Disick. “He’s doing this to get a reaction out of me. Oh, so I’m just allowed to say ‘I’m going to kill myself’ at any time? That’s crazy.” Again, we ask: WHAT?!? Nearly every insider close to Thompson after this scandal broke said he was mostly doing just fine. Moreover, sources now tell Radar Online that Tristan never, ever said such a thing and the fact that Khloe is spreading such a lie has really caused him distress. Keeping Up with the Kardashians Clip: What Did Jordyn Do?!? “He is pissed off because a ton of people, including his family members and NBA execs, are reaching out to him very worried,” Radar writes, quoting someone who knows Tristan well and adding: “He says he told Khloe he didn’t want to live without her, but that didn’t mean he wanted to kill himself.” On the finale, we were told that Khloe asked someone to go check on Thompson after he supposedly uttered the suicidal thought, prompting Disick to deliver this well-scripted speech: “The fact that Khloe is sitting here heartbroken but still worrying about Tristan’s feelings and the possibilities of him being upset or possibly hurting himself… “I mean, it just goes to show that Khloe is an unbelievable person that loves so hard and so much. “Somehow she just keeps getting the short end of the stick, and it’s unfair and it’s hurtful and it’s really hard for me to sit and watch.” We never once heard from Tristan or Jordyn on the episode. We never once saw a text message from either party or listened in one their end of a phone call. We were simply told a bunch of stuff by Khloe and her loved ones and expected to believe it. But what if producers just made it all up? What if Tristan and Khloe were actually on the outs at the time of the spit-swapping and what if he really did only peck Woods a little bit and there wasn’t very much to this whole scandal… … so the family had to REALLY oversell it, giving Khloe some horrible, mysterious disease right when it allegedly happened and then also making her look like a saint by putting her suicidal boyfriend ahead of her own needs, even in the wake of his dastardly actions? What if, you guys? View Slideshow: Keeping Up with the Kardashians: 14 Shocking Secrets Revealed! We know it’s a crazy thought, that Keeping Up with the Kardashians would be a scripted drama that painted its cast members as victims and made sure they were always the heroes of their own stories. And yet. If you agree that perhaps Khloe didn’t actually go blind in one eye and perhaps Thompson never contemplated suicide, then it must be asked: What is the real scandal here? Was it what Tristan did with Jordyn? Or what the Kardashians did in response?

Exclusive: Brian Tyree Henry Talks “Child’s Play,” FINALLY Meeting Rihanna, “Atlanta” Season 3, His Morehouse Experience & More!

Source: Slaven Vlasic/Getty Images Exclusive Brian Tyree Henry Interview Brian Tyree Henry isn’t a rapper but he plays one on TV–a very relatable and refreshingly complex rapper with a burgeoning career who steals scene after scene (after scene) on critically-acclaimed hit show “Atlanta.” And that’s only one of several power moves for the Emmy AND Tony-nominated North Carolina native currently having an enviable Hollywood run that started with Oscar-worthy masterpiece “If Beale Street Could Talk,” continued with Oscar-winning dazzler “Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse” and carried over into 2019 with several eye-catching roles headlined by “ Joker ” and… “Child’s Play???” Yep, a next-level Chucky movie that we couldn’t wait to ask him about during the “Child’s Play” press day where we talked (and laughed) about everything from killer doll nostalgia to Black folks in Horror movies to Rihanna in our fave interview of 2019. Let’s get into “Child’s Play”–what were your first thoughts when you realized you were playing a cop in a Chucky movie? “Actually when I got the script it didn’t say “Child’s Play” on it… so I started reading it and the story was pretty damn good. It was a really cool read. And then I saw the name Chucky and I was like ‘Yo…nahhh, there’s no way..’ because I’m like a Horror movie freak–I LOVE Horror movies, it’s my favorite genre and when I got to Chucky I was like ‘Oh sh*t, this has gotta be the new Chucky’ so then I looked at my character and was like ‘oh wait, hold up, this character is actually really brave because, you know , being Black in a Horror movie they don’t really give us good characters–we’re the first people to get killed in the first three minutes of the movie… But in this movie my character Detective Mike Norris is very smart, very charismatic, is really humorous, and literally the relationship he had with his mom, and his relationship with Andy were very important to me and so I was like ‘ok cool, there’s actually a character here’ *laughs* it was something that really attracted me to it. And at the end of the day, I remember when “Child’s Play’ came out in 1988 when I was 6-years-old.. I literally remember the Christmas it came out and, at the time, there was this doll called “My Buddy” and people were going into the store and fighting over these things, man, and it was on the news and I was just like ‘I’m never gonna get one of these dolls’ and as soon as this movie came out everyone threw them away so all that consumerism you were going through to get this doll, once this movie came out it shut the doll’s sales down… and that’s kinda why I like Horror movies because there really is a commentary on the social dynamics we live in.. It really turns the mirror on you to make you confront the things we’re actually afraid of in our real lives and that’s us as a society sometimes. So once I saw this was coming my way I jumped at it because I’ve always been a huge fan of this franchise and Chucky was such a part of my life growing up and I really just liked the retelling of the story they were doing and was like ‘this is actually really fresh and really relevant to today’ because instead of it being a serial killer dropped into a doll as it used to be.. this is like an artificial intelligence… it really is programmed to know everything about your life–like, everything –there’s an upgrade you can download and that’s way more terrifying–that, to me, is way more terrifying that there’s this doll that has access to your entire life. It’s still learning and growing–you’re gonna find yourself actually caring about Chucky–I’m not gon’ lie–I was surprised.. I was like ‘I actually like this dude, I really want him to win out here’ and I really just thought that was fun. It’s been so long since we’ve had a fun Horror movie. That was one of my favorite experiences about going to the Horror movies where I grew up is like, you know, if we’re in a theater full of Black people watching a Horror movie, we are gonna talk sh*t. We’re gonna say how we feel *laughs* and when I saw this I was like ‘Oh my God, this is a callback to one of those movies where you have to have that commentary. You have to clap and celebrate–it’s fun! And I was just really happy to be apart of something like that because that’s kinda what I knew and I’m a big nerd when it comes to this so… it was like me being a kid in a candy store” We realized the legendary Mark Hamill (who played “Luke Skywalker” in the “Star Wars” saga and voiced the Joker in “Batman: The Animated Series”) was voicing Chucky and were like ‘Whoa WHOAAA’ so what was that like for you–a big nerd? “Everything I’ve been doing in my career, honestly, is my inner-nerd just losing its mind and I think that’s why I take the things that I do because I think about myself being that 13-year-old kid at my locker and thinking about what kinda pictures I would’ve taped on the inside of my locker–all of the things I’ve done so far would’ve been in my locker *laughs* so having “Child’s Play” be that other little thing–that other little piece, right there–is great and then Mark Hamill, man, I’m gonna tell you something: the emotion that he brings to Chucky and the wonder he brings to Chucky and the sinisterness he brings to Chucky is really unbelievable and I think that’s why you feel for Chucky the way you do because of him” You got Joker, you got this, you had Spider-man [Into The Spider-Verse]–did you see yourself getting into your lane so fast in your career? No! I still try to act like I don’t see that because I don’t ever want it to take away that kind of joy, that kind of wonderment of what I do. It makes me very happy and I don’t ever wanna get to a place where I’m just like ‘Ohh, you know, tick that box, tick that box, tick that box, because there’s an endless array of boxes to tick for me” How did your experience at an HBCU—Morehouse College–shape your journey (and perspective) in Hollywood? I think that–not just Morehouse in it of itself–but the city of Atlanta shaped that for me because I moved there when I was 18 and I didn’t really start getting into theatre arts until my second semester sophomore year but it was something I’ve always done even in high school I was doing speech and debate and it was always an escape for me because the plays I was told to read or the plays we were given as assignments never had characters that reflected people who looked like me. You could give me Chekhov all day, you could give me Henrik Ibsen all day, but nothing is saying I could be this young dude in Russia so, for me, it was an escape. It was fun to play these parts and run around pretending to be these men in society I was told I’ll never be because of where I’m from and because I’m Black. So, at the end of the day, when I got to Morehouse here I am looking to my left and to my right seeing other people who have the same passion as I do but then I’m also in a city where I’m looking to my left and to my right and everyone looks like me and everyone’s excelling in the same way and the city is giving me space to be who the hell I am– Atlanta literally shaped me into the person I am today and it’s because I saw in a place like that endless possibilities for us as Black people–like, endless –are you telling me I can own a store? We all got our own neighborhoods? Like, what do you mean??? So, for me, it kinda revolutionized how I saw my self within this genre and made me feel like there was nothing couldn’t do and then, here I am, in “Child’s Play” playing this detective that you actually give a damn about…that was icing on the cake” We saw you say that Rihanna made you cry and since we’re talking about Atlanta–where would you take Rihanna in the city if yall were hanging out? What would yall do? “OK, alright! I’ve actually got a chance not too long ago to meet Rihanna–I went to the Gold Party… Rihanna came up to me with open arms–she was like ‘I’ve been watching you, I’m so proud of you, thank you for giving Fenty all the love’ because I’m always reppin like ‘Yo, Fenty Beauty is the bomb, everybody needs to support Rihanna’ and as I’m going in for a hug I break her drink–I drop her drink out of her hand–and I was like ‘are you kidding me? How could you do that?’ and with such grace and poise, as Rihanna does, she’s like ‘no-no-no, don’t worry about it, it’s just a drink, what are you drinking?’ AND THEN SHE GOES TO GET HERSELF A DRINK AND ME A DRINK… So then I’m trying not to cry again but it’s that kinda thing–my inner-nerd–like of course, I made her drop her drink but it was still–I learned a lot about myself *laughs* But yea, there’s nothing greater than to see people from your generation killin’ the game. I feel like I’ve gotten to my rise watching her–like, watching us all excel in this way and its just pride, man. It really just makes me proud but I still broke her drink, though” Is there anything you can tell us about Season 3 of Atlanta? “Thaaaat, it will be back next year *laughs* but know that we’ll be coming back for sure” “Child’s Play” in theaters now!

We Old, Ya’ll: Here’s What The BET Awards Looked Like 10 Years Ago

Source: Getty / Getty The 2019 BET Awards weekend kicks off today, and it’s crazy to think that the show has been around for nearly 20 years! Remember the first show in 2001? Steve Harvey and Cedric The Entertainer hosted, and the big winners of the night were Destiny’s Child & Lil Bow Wow. Besides holidays, the BET Awards is the one time of year that Black Twitter comes together as a community to be entertained, talk fashion, and give good ol’ fashion Black folk commentary on literally every single thing about the show. black twitter it’s that time of year again.. bet awards on sunday. — YT: SIMPLY HALLE (@officialhalle_) June 21, 2019 Remember back in the day when you would meet up with your friends at someone’s house (who had cable) so you can watch the show together? Now either you can stream it on your phone and laptop, on just watch vicariously through the folks on social media. Speaking of nostalgia, the fact the 2009 BET Awards was a whole decade ago is kinda wild. 2009 was a decade ago, that’s crazy — Wavy From a Baby (@Tayovelli) February 13, 2019 That was the year that Jamie Foxx hosted for the first time and Michael Jackson passed away just a few days before that. So the entire ceremony was a bit somber. Another Black Designer Finds A Carbon Copy Of Her Work For Sale Online

Read more from the original source:

Source: Mireya Acierto / Mireya Acierto / Stringer When white designers replicate one another, intentionally or otherwise, they are called derivative, and uninspired. When they copy Black designers , they are rewarded for their efforts with the cloak of invisibility that shrouds Black women. This week Instagram learned of yet another Black fashion designer being forced to watch their creativity line the pockets of others. Fe Noel , who has been using her Caribbean heritage to create, elegant staples and lush statement pieces for years, posted side by side images of pants she designed for a previous collection with those presented by designer Ulla Johnson. Beneath the image she anticipated the fury of her followers writing, “I’ll let you be the judge.” Social media did not disappoint quickly pointing out that the similarities between the items appeared to be more than coincidental. That didn’t stop Net-A-Porter from charging $395 for them. This happens all the time and when everyone is forwarding the offending image or video to their timelines, they are rarely discussing how it occurs over and over. Source: Mireya Acierto / Mireya Acierto / Stringer These incidents take place because while mainstream retailers love to scope out the trends set by Black artists and consumers they don’t pay as close attention to the people behind them. The question of whether or not Ulla Johnson had seen Noel’s design prior to creating her pant is just one part of the equation. Whether or not any one at Net-A-Porter has ever bothered to look any the beautiful lookbooks presented by Noel season after season is another. In order for Black designers, Black editors, Black writers, Black stylists, and Black writers to flourish people have to quit stalling their research at their immediate circles. This is not someone who is obscure or unknown. She is a design powerhouse who is gaining hard won steam every season and she deserves to be seen and respected. Source: laven Vlasic/Getty Images / (Photo by Slaven Vlasic/Getty Images) It’s not hard to imagine that the buyer would have noticed if Johnson presented an option that was reminiscent of one of the many identical blonde Brooklynites lining the walls of Bloomingdales. They should be just as familiar with Black designers who are making strides. Noel has been featured in Vogue multiple times. She was one of three designers who teamed up with Lebron James and Harlem’s Fashion Row for a historic Nike collaboration. Her aesthetics is consistent and easily recognizable to anyone interested in paying attention. The work of the Fe Noels of the world should be celebrated beyond the black community because they’re stylish, they’re important, and more often than not they were probably here first. Editors Note: HelloBeautiful reached out to both Fe Noel and representatives for Ulla Johnson regarding the similarities in the designs. Neither party responded to requests for comment at the time of publication. DON’T MISS: Will Rihanna’s Deal With LVMH Be The Key To More Black Women In Fashion? ‘Big Sausage’ Complimenting Evelyn Lozada Speaks On Rob Kardashian Tweets, Relationship With Jennifer Williams & More [Video]

Evelyn Lozada Responds To Rob Kardashian Dating Rumors Basketball Wives has only been back on air for three episodes, and it didn’t take long for Evelyn Lozada to have some off-air drama of her own. The reality star stopped by The Breakfast Club on Thursday and dished on that suspicious Twitter exchange between her Rob Kardashian earlier this week. “I have never seen his sausage,” Evelyn clarified, referring to the tweets. “It just really started off as a bet. Like, I was dared and I take dares seriously. I’m like, ‘Don’t dare me ’cause I’ll tweet something crazy.’” The dare came about when Evelyn wished Rob—who she calls an “amazing father” to Dream Kardashian—a Happy Father’s Day over the weekend. “I said, ‘Happy Father’s Day big dick Rob,’” Evelyn revealed. “And he was like, ‘Oh, thank you! I bet you won’t say that to the world.’ I said, ‘Don’t play with me, ’cause I would.’ And he said, ‘No you won’t.’” She added, “So it was really just…I took a bet too serious.” Evelyn also shared the she and Rob—who was also recently getting flirty with Natti Natasha—are “cool” but they “never went on a date” prior to their Twitter conversation. “I think Rob is a nice guy, I really, really do,” Evelyn said. “I feel like he has potential for greatness and I hope he really keeps kicking ass in the gym, because I think he’s a nice looking man.” She then confirmed, “I would go on a date with Rob.” Whew, sounds like drama. Watch the full video above to see what else Ms. Lozada had to spill, er, share.
