After listening to Eminem collaborate with Beyoncé on “Walk On Water,” fans and critics took to the internet to praise and critique what most felt was a really random link up. But now, in a Shade 45 chat with DJ Whoo Kid and Lord Sear , Em explains that he’d always wanted to work with Bey, but he had to find the right song. “Walk On Water” was the right song, he says, because he feels Beyoncé can relate to the message that she’s not perfect or superhuman or God. “…I felt like she could probably relate to that. ‘Cause I told her, I said, ‘I never seen you make a mistake before, ever.’ Like, performance wise, everything. Every song she puts out, every album—it’s so calculated and precise. And everything’s always so perfect. ” Watch a sneak peek above and listen to the full interview tomorrow, November 18, at 5 p.m. EST on Sirius XM. Anna Faris is pretty, talented and hilarious. But you knew that already. What about the actress may take you by surprise? We just finished her memoir, “Unqualified,” and we can think of a few tidbits, revelations and stories that may cause you to view Faris in a slightly different light. To wit… 1. The Book is Dedicated To… … soon-to-be-ex-husband Chris Pratt! The dedication reads: “To Chris, Your wisdom and strength have made me a better person.” 2. Pratt Also Penned the Book’s Foreword Acknowledging that “”Anna is an important part of my life and she always will be,” Pratt adds: “I’m doing [this] because I love and respect her and told her I would,” saying Faris is the “person that I spent one amazing decade with.” 3. Inside Their Relationship: “When I first met Chris, I was constantly looking for proof that he was not as great as he seemed,” she writes of their 2007 introduction on the set of a movie. At the time, Faris was married, but then she split from her husband and: “You might think that, fresh off an almost decade-long relationship, I would be hesitant to move on to the next, but I couldn’t have fallen more headfirst into my feelings for Chris.” 4. This Is the Chapter That Will Make You Vomit That’s what Faris titled a chapter about all of Pratt’s romantic gestures, which included: sending a giant bouquet of flowers to the set of her sitcom each week and writing her “old-timey war letters that said things like, ‘Honey, I’m dreaming of the day I get to hold you again.'” 5. More Gushing Over Pratt Faris describes her husband as “amazing” when she was admitted to the hospital and placed on bed rest after her water broke at 30 weeks pregnant. In addition to sleeping with her in the hospital, Pratt decorated her room with photos and posters and brought her desserts every night. 6. Marry, F-ck, Kill? Sort of. “You have to hide a dead body with someone, call them to bail you out of jail, or get anal bleaching together,” says friend Cassie Daniels in the book. Faris replies that she’d hide a dead body with Regina Hall because she’s “cool under fire.” View Slideshow
The Battle Rounds on The Voice have always served as a way to amp up the drama on the NBC juggernaut. We love drama, but not at the expense of dreams being dashed. Most of the singers who make it through the Blind Auditions section of the show are already seasoned singers, so it makes little sense to have them battle it out. It was night two of the grueling process, and there was not much in the way of shocks. Everyone who should have gotten through did, and that’s about all we could ask for. Let’s break down the three battles that took place on the show. Davon Fleming vs. Maharasyi – “I’m Your Baby Tonight” Maharasyi sprung a leak on the first day of rehearsals and struggled to keep up with Davon who was killing it. Jennifer noted that Davon went with it and proved he had what it took to advance to the next stage. It was pretty much the same thing during the performance. Davon was a clear frontrunner, but his voice was not as good as it was the first time we heard it. But that was still enough to win over Maharsayi who was sent packing. Hannah Mrozak vs. Brandon Showell – “Cold Water” There was something off about Hannah during her rehearsal. She did not seem as into the competition as she should have been. This was the performance that was going to make or break her. Brandon was decent in the performance, but it was clear he still had a lot of work to do if he wanted to advance to the next stage. Hannah’s performance improved as it went on, while Brandon’s stayed the same and it was not great. Hannah was saved, while Brandon was sent home. Mitchell Lee vs. Dennis Drummond – “Mr. Jones” This battle was always going to be a tough one. They both have very different voices, and that made their performance so delightful to watch. They don’t go together, so they should never duet. Mitchell was saved by Blake, while Dennis was poached by Adam. That’s a wrap on Night Two! What did you think about the latest episode? Image via Mario Tama/Getty Images Puerto Rico Still Suffering From Lack Of Clean Drinking Water While our headline might not make sense to you, it makes plenty of sense to desperate Puerto Ricans like 39-year-old Juan Carlos Oquendo who spoke to CNN about how’s he’s been living since Hurricane Maria: “I’m going to drink it. I’ve drank it before. It tastes fine,” Oquendo told CNN as he filled his jugs. “If I don’t drink water I’m going to die. So I might as well drink this water.” The water that Mr. Oquendo is referring to was gathered from a potentially contaminated water well. Clean water isn’t exactly in abundance since Maria tore through the beloved island. According to the EPA: The area is polluted with industrial chemicals, including tetrachloroethylene and trichloroethylene, “can have serious health impacts including damage to the liver and increasing the risk of cancer,” the EPA said when it designated the site as contaminated. So, no, it is not “fake news” when Puerto Ricans say they are “dying” and in need of serious aid. Sh!t ain’t sweet regardless of what Donald tries to tell you about the “great job” that’s he’s doing to help. By the way, three years later, Flint, Michigan still doesn’t have clean water either. See a trend?
If you’re a Teen Mom 2 fan who somehow hasn’t heard, Jenelle Evans is engaged to David Eason . She’s been gushing about her lavish wedding plans pretty much non-stop since the day that Eason put a ring on it, so the news has been pretty hard to miss. Jenelle and David are set to get married this weekend, so naturally the Carolina Hurricane has ramped up the wedding talk in recent days. In fact, the soon-to-be Mrs. Eason has launched a full-blown wedding countdown, and she’s inviting fans to share in her excitement. All week, Evans has been taking to Instagram today to remind her followers just how soon she’ll be getting hitched. First, it was t-minus 5 days, and Jenelle marked the occasion with Boomerang clip featuring some heart-shaped lighting. “Love is in the air. the countdown is on…5 more days ! #EvansToEason can’t wait to show @easondavid88 his wedding gift and thanks @celestecall for making this awesome shoot happen!!!!” Evans captioned the video. Jenelle Evans Wedding Video The clip received a mostly positive response from Jenelle’s followers, but there were a few nay-sayers in the comments section. Some skepticism is natural, considering Jenelle has been engaged five times , and it seems some fans are concerned that she’s falling into a gold-digger trap. “I hope you open your eyes girl. This marriage won’t last long,” wrote one follower. “He’s using you for your money . He doesn’t work your money will be gone fast. I really hope you had him sign a prenup.” Never one to be deterred by … well, anything, Jenelle kept the countdown going today with another vaguely wedding-y pic. This one shows her putting on some makeup in wedding night attire, alongside a couple random prescription bottles. Like everything she does, Jenelle’s wedding is shrouded in controversy. Not only is there the small matter that–and we can’t repeat this enough–she’s been engaged five freakin’ times at the age of 25, there’s also the sad fact that Jenelle is not inviting her mother to the wedding . “She’s been saying she’s having her wedding, running around with her family of friends, but you know what she says? ‘My mother Barbara is not invited,’” Barbara Evans said in a recent interview. “She’s not inviting me to her own wedding. It’s very painful,” a brokenhearted Babs reiterated. Look on the bright side Babs – if that’s the worst thing Jenelle does this week, it’s been her best week in years! Despite the grisly details of Laci Peterson’s murder and Scott Peterson’s conviction and death sentence, there are still a few people out there who believe that Scott Peterson is innocent. (The comments that we got the last time that we wrote about this are evidence enough of the enduring controversy) We wonder what his defenders will think of the news that Scott Peterson allegedly planned to murder his mistress , too. … Yikes. So, to those of you who may have forgotten, Amber Frey was Scott Peterson’s mistress. She also testified against him in court. Even if you didn’t pay attention at the time of the trial or you were too young to have really been exposed to the coverage, you probably recognize Amber’s name. (And, not for nothing, but “Amber Frey” is one of the best names that we have ever heard, ever, in our lives. But maybe don’t go naming your kids that) It sounds like Amber might have never gotten the chance to testify if Scott Peterson hadn’t been apprehended while allegedly trying to flee south of the border. Scott Peterson looked completely different when he was captured. Law enforcement believed that he had disguised himself in order to flee to Mexico and avoid his trial. He didn’t make it, and now he sits on death row for the murder of Laci Peterson. Laci Peterson was 8 months pregnant. Their child would have been a son named Connor. His fetus was actually found before Laci’s body; investigators believe that the fetus had slipped out of her body while in the water. Laci’s body was also missing most or all of various limbs, along with her head. After such a massive search, it was a … grim find. Scott was convicted, but it sounds like might have done more than just escape if he hadn’t been caught. According to RadarOnline , Scott Peterson was in possession of a map to Amber Frey’s home . Why, you might ask, would Scott need a map to the home of his mistress? Some apparently believe that he was planning to murder Amber Frey, too. You might wonder what Scott Peterson’s possible motive might have been. But you should remember that Scott Peterson had apparently claimed, weeks before his wife’s death, that he was a recent widower and that this Christmas would be his first without his wife. An absurd lie to tell, even if, at the time, he wasn’t planning Laci’s murder but simply trying to get a little sympathy. But after his wife’s death, one wonders if Scott ever thought about his past words and how they might be used against him. Unfortunately, we don’t know for certain why Scott Peterson might have had that map. We also don’t know even the exact cause of death behind Laci Peterson’s murder. Scott Peterson, despite everything, has maintained his innocence, even as he sits on death row, waiting for his lethal injection. Understandably, Scott would have little to gain from confessing now. And, as we’ve mentioned, he still has some avid supporters who believe that police jumped to conclusions. Hey, O.J. Simpson still has people who believe that he was framed. That’s just how people are. View Slideshow: 21 Stars Who Very Likely Killed Someone
Activist and Divergent star Shailene Woodley was arrested while protesting the Dakota Pipeline ? We all remember the Dakota Pipeline protests. There was national outcry over threatening the water table of Native Americans — especially after everything that the US government has done (and continues to do) to the Native American population. There were also broader environmental concerns, as oil pipelines are notorious for leaking. Protesters were numerous and passionate, and came from people of different ages and backgrounds, from military veterans to optimistic young people to the Native Americans directly threatened by pipeline’s construction. Unlike the passive responses of police to torch-bearing Nazi protesters in Charlottesville that included a weekend of violence against racial minorities and a vehicular terrorist attack against counter-protesters, both caught on video, the police responded to the pipeline protesters with a show of force and violence. Protesters were sprayed with firehoses in freezing temperatures. Rubber bullets, which can injure and even kill, were fired into the crowd. In the end, of course, President Obama — who had likely postponed any decision in order to avoid making it an election issue, back when there was still hope in the world — fixed it. Temporarily. Doing his best impression of President John Adams’ infamous Midnight Justices , President Obama effectively brought progress to a halt on the Dakota Access Pipeline at the 11th hour. That didn’t change the way that peaceful protesters had suffered during the ordeal. And it changed nothing for Shailene Woodley, who is now sharing exactly what the experience of being arrested was like. Shailene is bravely opening up, now, about her ordeal being arrested. In an interview with Marie Claire UK , Shailene Woodley describes her traumatic experience at Morton County Jail. “I was strip-searched. Like get naked, turn over, spread your butt cheeks, bend over.” She was a peaceful protester who should not have been arrested (we’ll get to that in a moment), so this should not have happened. “They were looking for drugs in my a–.” Awful. We don’t care if it’s standard procedure. It’s awful. “When you’re in a jail cell and they shut that door, you realize no one can save you.” There are so many good police officers in the world, and many people look at police as there to help by default. (I know that I do) But it is haunting to be aware that there are police individuals and even entire groups who are willing and eager to abuse their power. “If there’s a fire and they decide not to open the door, you’ll die. You are a caged animal.” Terrifying. Shailene describes how she turned off her phone for three months due to her PTSD symptoms. Most of us are unwilling to go without our phones for three minutes (and with good reason), so you know how deeply she was impacted by her ordeal. “There was so much trauma.” Clearly. “Mine was like, ‘What do I do now?’ Kind of like a little bit of depression.” Very understandable. Different people cope in different ways. As we said, Shailene should never have been arrested in the first place. At the time, she spoke out about how heavily armed officers were waiting to arrest her as she returned to where she was staying. She believes that she was specifically targeted because she had tens of thousands of followers keeping up with her posts about the protest. We don’t know if the men who arrested her believed that they were making an example of her or shutting her up, but it was inexcusable. Maybe overeager police could save some of that aggression for the next nazi rally, huh?
