Jesus Take The Wheel: Woman Fatally Shot In Detroit When Hug Accidentally Triggered Gun Of Off-Duty Police Officer

Detroit Woman Fatally Shot From Gun Accidentally Triggered By Hug Wow. This is tragically sad. A woman celebrating the weekend before her 25th birthday was fatally shot Sunday when she hugged an off-duty police officer while dancing at a party, causing the officer’s service weapon to fire, according to police and her mother. Adaisha Miller would have turned 25 on Monday, according to her mother, Yolanda McNair. The shooting happened at an outdoor social gathering about 12:30 a.m., said police Sgt. Eren Stephens. It happened on the city’s west side. According to Stephens, the woman “embraced the officer from behind, causing the holstered weapon to accidently discharge.” The bullet punctured Miller’s lung and hit her heart, and she died at a hospital. Stephens said the Detroit officer will remain on administrative duties while authorities investigate the shooting and report their findings to the Wayne County prosecutor. The officer’s name was not released. “For this to happen to her, whether they want to call it freak accident or mistake in judgment, it should have never happened to my child, and there’s nothing I can do to get her back,” McNair told WDIV-TV. McNair said her daughter was out to mark her upcoming birthday. “All she wanted to do was enjoy the weekend for her birthday,” the mother said. “She had every right to enjoy turning 25 and look beyond that.” R.I.P. Hip-Hop Beef: Lil Wayne Wants Drake To Kiss And Make Up With Chris Brown ASAP So They Can Keep Makin’ That Young Money!

Losing money over some poon-tang? That’s that isht YMCMB don’t like Lil Wayne Wants Drake To End Beef With Chris Brown According to TMZ reports : Lil Wayne and the rest of the Young Money crew want Drake to put an end to his beef with Chris Brown … STAT — because the bad blood is bad for busine$$. It’s a sign that as bad ass as rap may be … the bottom line is the bottom line. Sources close to Drake tell TMZ, Drizzy has received several calls from Weezy, Birdman, Mack Maine and more — urging the rapper to extend an olive branch to Brown after last week’s nightclub brawl in NYC. Sources tell us, Wayne and co. are worried the rift will affect business — since Brown appears on several tracks with Young Money members and, pure and simple, Brown = hits. We’re told Drake doesn’t want to reach out to Breezy until he knows CB doesn’t actually blame him for last week’s melee — despite what Brown’s lawyer has been saying … that Drake was one of the aggressors. We’re told Young Money’s on Drake’s side no matter what — but as one source put it, “Making money matters most.” We can hear Wayne and Birdman now: “Aye, bay-bee, you gotta call that boy Breezy and make it cool ya ‘eard me?” Considering that Nicki Minaj features Chris on her popular single, “Right By My Side”, Cash Money definitely does not want to miss an opportunity to make it rain on some hoes over some “Bajan beef”. Lil Wayne Speaks On Pulling Nicki Minaj From Hot 97 Summer Jam

‘No person that works with me will be disrespected in my presence as long as I’m on this planet,’ Weezy tells MTV News of his decision. By Rob Markman, with reporting by FLX Lil Wayne Photo: All Weezy wants is a little respect. After Nicki Minaj was insulted by a Hot 97 radio DJ, Lil Wayne made an executive decision and pulled his Young Money queen from the station’s Summer Jam concert . When MTV News caught up with Tunechi to talk about the incident for the first time, he didn’t throw stones or hurl insults at the New York City station, but simply stressed the importance of a certain seven-letter word. “That’s a female; first and foremost Nicki Minaj is a female. I don’t know what anyone else believes, but I believe females deserve the ultimate respect at all times no matter, when or where or how,” the multiplatinum rapper told MTV News on Saturday while backstage at Hot 107.9 ‘s Birthday Bash in Atlanta. Minaj was slotted to close out the yearly rap extravaganza on June 3 and was planning to bring out Nas, Lauryn Hill, Foxy Brown, Cam’ron and Lil Wayne during her set. That plan went south after outspoken Hot 97 personality Peter Rosenberg downed Nicki’s pop single “Starships” in front of concertgoers, prompting Wayne to pull the plug on all YMCMB Summer Jam performances, including Nicki’s and DJ Khaled’s. “As soon as she called me and told me she felt disrespected, I just declined everything,” Weezy told us. “I pulled her from the show because … no person that works with me will be disrespected in my presence as long as I’m on this planet.” Wayne feels Nicki should have gotten the royal treatment from the radio station and its employees. “I expect the red carpet, in her manner; the pink carpet should be laid out for her,” he said. “It’s just an executive move, no salt, no bad feelings, no hard feelings.” Many, including Hot 97 veteran DJ Funkmaster Flex, criticized Minaj for not taking the stage, but Lauryn Hill issued a statement supporting Nicki’s decision. “I don’t have details on exactly what transpired between the station and the artists, but I do support artists standing by their beliefs and walking with integrity,” Weezy agrees. “I feel like a woman should be respected at all times, therefore I made the right decision,” he said. Nas’ Father’s Day Brunch Salutes All Dads

‘Mother’s Day is #1, but every once in a while, let’s remember the fathers too,’ Nas tells MTV News. By Rob Markman Nas Photo: Nas takes being a dad seriously. On his debut 1994 album, Illmatic, God’s Son lightly touched on his first forays into fatherhood, and as his catalog grew, so did his subject matter. In 2004, he saluted his own pop, Olu Dara, and even collaborated with his old man on his “Bridging the Gap” single. But this year on Father’s Day, the Queensbridge rap great plans to toss a nod to all dads with a special brunch in his native New York City. “I’m doing a Father’s Day brunch to just celebrate the fathers out there,” Nas told MTV News on Tuesday. “It’s important that we acknowledge that, because family is a very important thing, and Mother’s Day is #1, but every once in a while, let’s remember the fathers too.” For the brunch, Nasir hooked up with New York radio station Hot 97 to hold a contest. Fans wrote in and explained what makes their dad great, and the writers of the best entries get to spend the day with the rap star. It all falls in line with Nas’ latest single, “Daughters.” Rather than romanticize the role that dads play in their children’s lives, Esco tells a story of real-life mistakes that both he and his teenage daughter Destiny Jones have made throughout the years. “When I cut the record, it was like my daughter was on Twitter and tweeting crazy stuff, and I’m like, ‘Yo, what are you doin’?’ ” Nas recalled. The rapper soon realized that his girl had a public persona online much like a rapper would through his music and videos. By tweeting pictures of condoms and sending other suggestive messages, Destiny came off as a wild child when various blog sites picked up on her activities. “She was creating this image on Twitter, this raunchy kinda style that was more for the Internet world, but not realizing people pick up these sorta things and put it on their websites,” he explained. “I think my record is me being angry at her, angry at myself and just really shouting out to fathers out there.” While “Daughters” is new, the type of self-reflection the Illmatic MC displays on the record is not dissimilar from other records in his catalog. On his 2002 LP God’s Son, Nas opened up about his mother’s death from cancer on the song “Dance.” It’s his introspection that truly makes Nas great. “I understand people might not get it, but this is how I express myself,” he said. Gucci Mane, Future, Usher and more of Atlanta’s finest celebrate at Saturday’s Bash. By Rob Markman, with additional reporting by FLX T.I. onstage at Atlanta’s Birthday Bash on Saturday night Photo: ATLANTA — ATL is an infamous party town, and on Saturday night there was no bigger celebration than Hot 107.9’s 17th annual Birthday Bash. Every year, the city’s premier hip-hop station brings out rap’s finest, and Saturday was no different: Gucci Mane, Rick Ross, Usher, Lil Wayne and T.I. all performed for over 20,000 fans at A-Town’s Philips Arena. The five-hour bash started as new southern staples like Cash Out, Travis Porter and Future pumped up the crowd alongside beloved veterans Lil Jon, Pastor Troy, Crime Mob, Lil Scrappy, Rocko and Gucci Mane.  Each set seemingly outdid the one that preceded it. After Future built the crowd into a frenzy with his catalog of hits (“Tony Montana,” “Same Damn Time” and “Turn on the Lights”), Rick Ross stormed the stage as energetic as ever. The MMG big man bounced up and down and controlled both the entire arena running through power tracks like “I’ma Boss,” “9 Piece” and “Bag of Money.” While all opening acts were appreciated, none were greeted quite like the King of the South. At 10:15 p.m., T.I. took the stage while his live band riffed the opening chords to his 2010 single “I’m Back.” It was all very fitting considering it’s been a few years since Tip graced the stage which has made him royalty in his native city. “A-Town what’s happenin’? I’d like to welcome y’all to my Birthday Bash,” T.I. said. Tip dug deep into his discography reciting tracks like “Rubberband Man” and “24s.” The Trap Muzik MC set the tone with street bangers before catering to the ladies with “Love This Life” and “Whatever You Like.” Immediately after, T.I. began to parade out his long list of multiplatinum friends. “It was a good 30 mil, maybe 50; maybe 50 mil,” Tip told MTV News after the show trying to estimate the amount of collective records sold between all of his specially invited guests. First there was Usher , who sang his current smash “Climax” and then came Nelly, who along with Kelly Rowland performed his 2002 single “Dilemma.” Nelly exited the stage and left Kelly to rock her #1 single “Motivation.” Halfway through her tune, Lil Wayne skated out onto the stage rapping his guest verse. The Destiny’s Child singer then turned the stage over to the YMCMB boss, who rocked a number of his own hits like “Bill Gates” and “John.” T.I. could’ve stopped there but then took his stage back proving that he could’ve easily performed without any help. Tip went solo for a few spitting “Swagga Like Us” and “Bring ’em Out” and then once again played the gracious host inviting out newcomer Chief Keef and ATL veteran Young Jeezy.”All these people I called, these are personal acquaintances of mine, these are not people I call just because they have hit records,” T.I. told us. At the end of T.I.’s set, which ran over an hour, there was only one song left to sing. As the opening chords for “Live Your Life” rang through Philips Arena, fireworks shot through the air and gold confetti fell from the rafters. What’s your favorite Birthday Bash memory?
