Streets Is Done: El Chapo Sentenced To Life In Prison, Plus 30 Years

Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman isn’t ever getting out of prison. Today (July 17), the infamous Mexican drug lord was sentenced to a mandatory life sentence, plus 30 years. El Chapo’s run is officially over. Reports CNN : A federal judge sentenced Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman to life in prison plus 30 years, according to the US Attorneys for the Eastern District of New York. The Court also ordered “El Chapo” to pay $12.6 Billion in forfeiture. Restitution will be determined later. Before today’s sentencing, attorney Mariel Colon — who has visited Guzman regularly in prison before, during and after his trial — said she is optimistic about his chances on appeal. El Chapo spoke at his sentencing, complaining about the conditions of his confinement and his inability to visit with his family. Last month, the notorious drug kingpin was convicted in the Federal District Court in Brooklyn on murder, drug and money laundering charges. It is believed El Chapo was involved in the delivery of tons of drugs to the United States. Reportedly , El Chapo will likely be sent to the United States Penitentiary Administrative Maximum Facility aka ADX, a supermax prison in Florence, Colorado. Considering he escaped from prison in Mexico twice, don’t bank on El Chapo making it a third while stateside.

Source: YouTube / Youtube Beyoncé will be featured prominently in the upcoming Disney reboot of The Lion King as the voice of Nala, and she’s also dropping an album that will accompany the official film soundtrack. Queen Bey released the visuals for The Lion King: The Gift ‘ s album’s first single “Spirit” and it’s definitely epic. The video was filmed at the Havasu Falls in the Grand Canyon, and styled by celebrity stylist Zerina Akers. In the clip, Bey flips outfits several times and her daughter, Blue Ivy, makes an adorable cameo in a sweeping shot. The single was released last week to plenty of fanfare on Twitter, and one can imagine that same energy will be present as the video makes the rounds. Check out “Spirit” below. — Photo: YouTube

According to WSBTV, a technical error in the system has been duplicating old charges, putting charges on your record that you have already resolved.  Coweta County officials have stated around 2,000 records were incorrectly sent to the state and they’re working to try to get this issue fixed. Source: A1 Visuals / A1 Visuals Reports are saying that the same LAPD members who were praising Nipsey Hussle and his work in the community were the same people who were secretly investigating him… SMH via: TMZ Nipsey Hussle was praised by the LAPD as a peacemaker in the wake of his death — a hero of sorts in his community for trying to stem gang violence — but it turns out the very same police department was secretly investigating Nipsey for possible criminal prosecution for alleged gang activity. The probe was centered around Nipsey’s Marathon Clothing store in South L.A., as a possible hub for gang activity … this according to The New York Times. It’s a stunning development, because the LAPD was both investigating Nipsey and embracing him at the same time. He was set to meet the LAPD Police Chief the day after he was murdered, to discuss gang violence. What’s more … a few years before his death, the City of Los Angeles was trying to pressure Hussle’s landlords to evict Nipsey from Marathon Clothing … this according to The NYT. As it turned out, Nipsey bought the building with some investors. Although the City can no longer prosecute Nipsey, the City continues to investigate Nipsey’s business partners.
