Source: Piya Sarutnuwat / EyeEm / Getty Woman Reportedly Stabs Boyfriend For Not Getting A Gift It’s probably a good idea to get the person you’re dating a gift for their birthday , especially to avoid scenarios like this one. A Pennsylvania woman reportedly stabbed her boyfriend with a box cutter before threatening to kill him because he failed to get her a birthday gift, according to the New York Post on Friday. A woman by the name of Georgia Zowacki had been drinking vodka on her 55th birthday on Wednesday when she is said to have stormed into her live-in boyfriend David Rea’s room in West Newton, allegedly proceeding to slash his arm and hold the weapon to his throat, police told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette . Rea, who met Zowacki two months ago, didn’t completely forget his girlfriend’s birthday–He had taken her out for a meal earlier in the day, but didn’t buy her a gift, a card or any cake, according to cops. Zowacki was also furious that nobody else had gotten her a gift, according to the paper. “She stabs me four times. Then she went to my neck and said, ‘I’m going to kill you,’ ” Rea told cops following the incident. “She got very belligerent.” During the attack, the birthday girl allegedly trashed her boyfriend’s room, smashed his television, and bolted, according to the paper. Georgia Zowacki was charged with aggravated assault and making terroristic threats.

Source: Jeff Spicer/Future Image/WENN.com / WENN Oprah Gifts School In New Jersey With A Generous Donation Ellen DeGeneres has had Akbar Cook–the principal at West Side High School in Newark, New Jersey–on her show twice, giving him $50,000 each time for his “Lights On” program, which made national news for keeping kids off the street from 6 p.m. to midnight. But Ellen isn’t the only celebrity giving Akbar and his foundation a helping hand. Oprah Winfrey made a surprise visit to West Side High School on Friday, dropping in to say she is giving $500,000 to West Side’s summer initiative, which is also held during the school year on Friday nights. “I heard about West Side and all of the great things that are happening here,” Winfrey said to a packed gymnasium. “I thought, ‘what can I do?’” She continued, saying, “I was moved by his story…Let me find this guy. Let me see what I can do to help further what he’s trying to do.” Winfrey–who came along with her longtime BFF and CBS co-anchor Gayle King, even had something extra for the kids. Everyone who was at the “Lights On” program would receive a $50 gift certificate to go shopping, as well. Students have said that their school is often maligned for having a reputation as a place where fights occur–but thank to Principal Cook and his staff, that narrative is changing. Senator Cory Booker has even tweeted about the principal, praising him during Black History Month as someone who should be admired. Oprah talked about the principal’s impact during her surprise appearance, praising his efforts and saying, “Everybody always talks about the grades. You can’t start to talk about the grades unless they feel safe, unless they feel seen, unless they feel respected, unless they feel valued.”

The WBC heavyweight champion hit Breazale with an explosive right hook that took him down. The knock out came after Wilder, who also went viral for his “to dis day” quip, made controversial comments about possibly killing his opponent in the ring. “If he dies, he dies,’’ Wilder previously told members of the press. This is boxing. This is not a gentleman’s sport. This is a gladiator’s sport. And with bad blood, we know I possess the power…” “If anybody thinks this is a game, you better close your eyes,” he added. “If you’re there, bring a blindfold because this is going to be a tragedy. That’s the least I can do, I can pay for the funeral… “Man, this fight, with the bad blood we got, I don’t see this fight going long,’’ said Wilder. “I’ll be surprised if this fight goes past three rounds. I don’t like this guy. I don’t have no good intentions for him. Source: Shareif Ziyadat / Getty Hov Slapped With Lawsuit For Using An Uncleared Sample According to TMZ , Hov is in a little legal trouble after reportedly not clearing a sample for a song off his “Vol. 2… Hard Knock Life” album. Guitarist Ernie Hines recently filed suit against Hov , Roc-A-Fella Records, Sony Music and Timbaland, claiming they ripped one of his songs from back in 1969 and used it on Jay’s 1998 record “Vol. 2… Hard Knock Life” without his permission and failed to pay him. Hines says his track “Help Me Put Out the Flame (In My Heart)” was sampled for the ‘Vol. 2’ song “Paper Chase” but he didn’t even become aware of it until last year because he claimed he was old and doesn’t listen to rap music. Hines also claims Timbaland also used ‘Help Me’ on Ginuwine’s 1999 album, “100% Ginuwine” — once again without his permission or without any payment. Hines says the songs have been played on a lot of platforms over the years, and that he’s owed a lot of bread. He’s suing for damages exceeding $2 million.

F ood insecurity has become an ever-growing issue within underserved communities across the country. Research showed that in 2017 nearly 40 million Americans—including over 12 million youngsters—lacked access to food. NBA star LeBron James is determined to reverse that alarming trend. According to CBS Sports , he joined forces with Walmart for a campaign to spread awareness about hunger in America. Through its initiatives, the organization works to combat hunger faced by communities of color, children, senior citizens, and those living in poverty. They also address the hunger gap in rural communities. The end goal in this collaborative effort is to provide 1 billion meals for the hungry. As part of the Fight Hunger Spark Change initiative, Walmart will contribute to the pantry for underserved families at LeBron James’ I Promise School in Akron. Since the inception of this specific campaign, Walmart and Feed America have served over 975,000 meals and James has stepped in to push the project goal forward. Overall over 749 million meals have been served through Walmart’s partnership with Feeding America. “It’s an honor and a privilege for me in my community and what I’m doing here to partner with such a heavy hitter in Walmart,” said James. Walmart CEO Doug McMillon is thankful to have James participate in this initiative and believes that his platform will help amplify the campaign’s message. “What we hope to accomplish together with LeBron is to magnify each other’s efforts. We would love to help this model that he’s creating lead to a situation where it could help even more people,” he said. “Walmart has a responsibility to help strengthen communities.” James has continually lent his voice to social and political issues impacting underserved and disenfranchised communities.
