If we’ve learned anything from live television over the years, it’s to always be mindful that people are always watching and the mics are always hot. New York City meteorologist Chris Cimino apparently didn’t realize his mic was still on when “Today” show host Al Roker cut to him for Thursday’s forecast. Cimino was heard saying: “It’s just a weird f—ing thing, it’s just strange. Um, but I think if I didn’t do that, I wouldn’t have allowed myself.” His mic was abruptly cut off and the sound went silent for the next 20 seconds before the screen cut back to Roker at the roundtable. Cimino has yet to speak out about the blunder, but an NBC spokesperson said of the slip up, “[It] was inappropriate, unacceptable and has been addressed. Instead of recognizing that perhaps she wasn’t the best person to be paying homage to the iconic R&B record label especially given the number of Black female singers with more talent that could have done a way better job, J-Lo made it about her being bullied. On Wednesday, she told The Breakfast Club , “So what do you do in this? Do you back down and just let like people who are bullying you online not do something you were gonna do, that you wanna do, that you love? What does that say?” She also claimed that the Black men behind Motown urged her not to quit. “My kids were in the car when we got the call and they were like, ‘Mommy, why don’t they want you to do it? What’s going on?’ . . . For a minute I was gonna drop out, then I spoke to the producers and I spoke to Berry Gordy, spoke to Stevie Wonder, Smokey and (they) were like, ‘Please do it. Motown music was for everybody. We made music for everybody and you were inspired by that and you know all these songs,’” she said. Adding, “Berry’s been to my show, and he loves me as a performer and he was like, ‘I can’t think of anybody [else] that I would want to have do it. I love the way you perform.’ He was so happy when he heard I was doing it. It was just a nice thing. I was like, ‘OK, it would be easy for me to drop out, it’s one less thing to do.’ Trust me, I was busy at that time, but afterwards I felt like, ‘I told my kids I was gonna go do it.’ … They smiled, they looked at me, they were like, ‘Good, Mommy; don’t let them make you back down and push you around.’ I think it was an important lesson for that reason alone. According to CBS News , Jay Singh saw someone trying to snag items from his Toledo, Ohio store. “You can see he’s turning here, putting stuff in his pocket,” he said. Singh then told an employee to call 911 while he confronted the customer: “He said, ‘Oh, I’ll put it back.’ I said ‘No, put everything on the counter. I want to see all the things that you have,’” Singh said. Then Singh posed a simple question to the guy: Why was he stealing? “He said, ‘I’m hungry. I’m stealing it for myself and my younger brother.’ I said you need food? I’ll give you food. That’s not a problem,” Singh said. The owner then filled a bag with food for free and he stopped the 911 call. Singh said there was no point in getting the young customer arrested when food was the root issue. “He’s a young kid. That will go on his record that he was a thief. He cannot do anything in his life. He will not get a good job. This will not solve his hunger problem,” Singh said. *Sigh* If only more people could think like Singh. One customer, Cedric Bishop, served as a witness to the good deed. He thought what he saw was so amazing, he decided to share it on Facebook. “There was over 1,000 shares. Brought tears to my eyes honestly,” Bishop said. Singh further explained why he did what he did, saying: “It’s basically our Indian culture that if you give food to a hungry person, that’s considered like God will bless you for that.” Hopefully, all the blessings go Singh’s way and for the hungry customer.

While Christine Brown finally sold her Vegas home earlier this month, not all of the Sister Wives stars have had such success. But it may be a good thing that Meri and Janelle’s homes are still on the market. The Browns may need to flee back to Vegas. Polygamy is seriously illegal in Arizona, and Kody and the sister wives could face fines and even prison time. RadarOnline spoke to multiple experts on matters of law about whether Kody, Robyn, Meri, Janelle, and Christine are safe from the law in Flagstaff. “Polygamy is unlawful in Arizona,” criminal attorney Monica Lindstrom grimly reports. This isn’t just a matter of some offhand law. The law against plural marriage is sadly enshrined at the highest levels. “Arizona’s Constitution specifically addresses polygamy,” Lindstrom notes. She continues: “and states in Article 20, section 2, ‘Polygamous or plural marriages, or polygamous co-habitation, are forever prohibited within this state.'” “Under Arizona’s Constitution, living with one wife and a spiritual wife, or two or three etc.,” she says. Lindstrom continues: “could meet the definition of ‘polygamous co-habitation,’ which is prohibited.” While it’s fortunate that the Browns wisely live in multiple homes, that might not be as much protection as they imagine. Kody isn’t legally married all four wives, but it looks like Arizona lawmakers were specifically prepared to address that. “Arizona defines marriage as ‘the state of joining together as husband and wife through an agreement, promise, or ceremony,'” Lindstrom explains. It meets the definition “‘regardless of whether a marriage license has been issued by the appropriate authority.'” In other words, if a pair are married for all intents and purposes, then it counts as a marriage under the law in some circumstances. “‘Spouses’ is defined as two persons living together as husband and wife,” Lindstrom details. She notes that this is “including the assumption of those marital rights, duties, and obligations that are usually manifested by married people.” Lindstrom explains that this is “including but not necessarily dependent on sexual relations.” “These definitions arguably include ‘spiritual’ marriages,” she warns. Lindstrom cautions: “which make what Kody Brown doing unlawful under Arizona law.” Dwane Cates, managing partner of Dwane Cates Law Group, says that the Browns living in separate homes only offers an illusion of protection. Cates says that having separate houses ultimately “doesn’t matter.” In Arizona, bigamy is a class 5 felony that could even come with a prison sentence. “He could get half a year to two-and-a-half years,” Cates warns. Cates also notes: “He could get probation up to three years and $150,000 in fines.” With four wives, Kody could risk being charged with four counts, but Cates adds that “It’s up to the judge to decide.” Monica Lindstrom also explains why Meri, Christine, Janelle, and Robyn could find themselves in nearly as much hot water as Kody. “It is a crime to marry the spouse of another person,” she states. Lindstrom details: “If the second wife knew the husband was married to the first wife, then she has violated the law.” “Although they themselves are not technically married to more than one person,” she explains. She reasons: “They have agreed to allow it and have agreed to facilitate it.” Cates’ best advice is that the Brwon family could move back to Vegas to avoid any risk of prosecution. “It would be that it’s more socially acceptable,” he observes. “And less likely to irritate in Nevada.” The one piece of good news is that the origins of these prejudiced, unjust laws was a desire to combat something very sinister. Because of that, prosecutors may be happy to look the other way rather than prosecute or persecute a family of consenting adults. “They typically go after if it’s child bigamy the most,” Cates notes. “Prosecutors can decide to charge them or to not.” Prosecutorial discretion will hopefully mean that the Browns are safe, but they’re making a pretty huge gamble every day that they live in Arizona. Source: Jack Berman/Getty Images / Getty Pastor Dies After Woman Shoots Him While Screaming “You Broke My Heart” Things took a turn for the worst when one woman proclaimed her romantic heartbreak to a married pastor. According to Q13 Fox , Latoshia Daniels shot at Paster Brodes Perry of Tennessee several times when she showed up to his home unannounced. She also shot at Perry’s wife who presumably tried to protect her husband from harm. Cops showed up to the Meridian Place Apartments and found the two victims wounded. Meanwhile, Daniels was still armed and refused to put down her gun. Perry’s wife said she let Daniels inside their home earlier because she knew her from her time living in Little Rock. When she was escorting Daniels back out, that’s when she pulled out a handgun and started blasting and screaming “You broke my heart” at the husband, according to court papers obtained by Q13 Fox. His wife then knelt by him, and Daniels told her to move out the way. That’s when she shot her in the left shoulder. Perry’s wife explained to police that she wasn’t aware of any affair going on between her husband and Daniels, but the shooter’s actions made an affair seem possible. Both victims were rushed to the Regional Medical Center where Brodes Perry later died. While at the hospital, cops say Daniels also attacked an officer. They said the officer was trying to take her into custody and that’s when she jerked away and pushed him before taking off running. Officers said they had to force Daniels to the ground before they could have her handcuffed. Daniels now faces first-degree murder charges along with attempted first-degree murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, assault on a police officer and resisting arrest. She’s currently held without bond.
