The indictment reportedly includes a charge for each supposed lie Jussie told police —but the Empire actor maintains his innocence, as he pled “not guilty” PERIODT. According to The Hollywood Reporter … “Jussie Smollett entered a plea of not guilty on Thursday in a Chicago courtroom on charges he lied to police when he reported that he was the victim of a hate crime earlier this year. The Empire actor was initially charged with disorderly conduct via the class 4 felony false report allegation and later indicted on 16 felony counts for allegedly lying to authorities about an attack that took place in January wherein he claimed he was targeted by two Donald Trump supporters and beaten because he is African-American and homosexual. Just Jared states the actor will return to court on April 17. Meanwhile, Empire —Jussie included— has returned to television with its first new episode since his attack. It’s been a long and rocky road to reconciliation for Ben Affleck and Lindsay Shookus. As you may recall, Affleck and Shookus broke up when the Oscar winner spiraled out of control in September of 2018. (Fun fact: Ben has now starred in more meltdowns than Batman movies!) That’s a lot to take in, and it’s the sort of thing that suggests these two are doing something more than casually dating. “Ben has been telling those close to him that his biggest mistake was letting Lindsay go,” a source close to the situation tells In Touch Weekly. “Now that he’s sober and she’s giving him a second chance, he refuses to let her slip away again, and he’s asked her to move in.” The insider confirms that Lindsay “was in the process of moving in with Ben when they broke up in September,” but nixed those plans when Affleck relapsed. Since Ben and Lindsay live on opposite coasts (she’s a New York-based SNL producer), she understandably wants to make sure that he’s capable of remaining sober this time. Ben reached the six-month milestone recently, and the informant says Lindsay has begun making tentative plans toward cohabitation. “Lindsay loves working for SNL, which films in NYC, and she has a young daughter who’s based there too,” a source tells In Touch. The insider adds that Shookus is “willing to split her time between the two coasts and is moving some of her belongings into Ben’s place.” We don’t blame her for being cautious. Not only does Lindsay have a child who lives in Manhattan, she’s spent enough time in the company of a red-faced raging blowhard after working so closely with Alec Baldwin these past two years. In all likelihood, she wants to wait long enough to make sure not only that Ben is committed to the hard work of recovery, but also that he’s left his infamous temper in the past. “After everything that’s happened, Lindsay’s guard is up,” says the source. “She loves Ben and also wants to make it work, but she isn’t ready to give up her whole life just yet!” The source says Lindsay was perfectly clear about her reasons for kicking Ben to the curb the first time: “He needed to get his life in order, by that I mean get sober.” Here’s hoping the third time stint in rehab will prove to be the charm for Ben. Jana Thompson said that her son was close to the Florida rapper, who she says that she treated like a family member. TMZ reports : Jana Thompson tells TMZ … her son, Anthony Williams, loved YNW and the other suspect, Cortlen Henry, like brothers. She says, “We opened up our homes & our hearts to them.” Anthony is one of 2 men YNW and Henry allegedly killed … and Jana is, understandably, shell-shocked. She says the fact that they entered not guilty pleas “feels like another stab in the heart to myself & my family.” Jana adds, “It’s inconceivable that these very people are the ones responsible for this horrifying murder. I will not stand idle and will fight vehemently for justice!” YNW has a neck tattoo that reads “Jana” … it’s crystal clear in his mug shot. We’re told it’s a tribute to Mrs. Thompson and shows just how close he was to Anthony and his mother. I’m hoping that I’ll find the right one.” John David, who was not in the room (obvi) but was later asked about his thoughts on the gown search, he said, “I would love to see Abbie in a wedding dress.” Abbie continued to try on several options, standing on a pedestal in front of a mirror as the ladies viewed in awe of the beauty. The first one had too much lace and the second was rejected for its dark pink color, her mom Cheryl joked that it looked “Great for the bridesmaids.” She instantly fell in love and found her perfect match with Dress #3. The room filled with excitement and everyone knew it was the clear winner. However, she did admit she was concerned with one major issue – the lack of sparkle! “It’s really close to the wedding, we don’t have time to make another one.” Instead, the designer added a simple ‘sparkle skirt’ and Abbie was thrilled. “The whole thing just shimmered. In recent weeks, disgraced rapper R. Kelly has been arrested multiple times and three allegedly incriminating sex tapes have surfaced . Many hope that he will finally go to prison. Others worry that, should somehting happen to him, a worse fate will befall his alleged victims. Those fears seemed realized when police received a 911 call warning that five of Kelly’s women were participating in a “suicide pact.” According to an alarming 911 call, R. Kelly’s alleged victims were in danger of taking their own lives. The warning regarded Azriel Clary and “four other women, who are victims of R. Kelly.” According to the caller, those five women “are planning to carry out a suicide pact.” The location was to be “at one of the condos at Trump Tower.” There was no indication on the call of when the alleged pact would be carried out. Similarly, there was no revelation of the unit number at the Chicago building. Nonetheless, at 5:30pm on Tuesday, police arrived in the area. The Chicago Police Department confirmed to People . “Police received a call from an out of state anonymous caller,” the CPD stated. The call was “stating that people at the location were going to carry out a suicide pact.” “Police on scene,” the statement explained, were there “conducting a wellness check and it is not a bonafide incident.” In other words, it appears to have thankfully been a false alarm. It is a relief to hear that those poor women are alright. However, R. Kelly’s attorney who has been speaking on his behalf recently was less than thrilled at the intrusion. Greenberg claims that it “It is offensive that anyone gives this any credibility.” For the record, police perform wellness checks more or less any time that someone calls them with frantic concerns. And it seems that this cry of alarm was especially believable. Prior to the release of the Surviving R. Kelly docuseries, an early alleged victim of the disgraced rapper spoke to People . In that interview, Lizzette Martinez described the horror that she faced … and claimed that there was a suicide pact in place. “I was the beginning of the predatory behavior. I was… I met him after he married Aaliyah,” Lizzette confessed. “I had it bad but what I hear today is that he’s taking this to a whole other level,” she admitted.
