Brad Pitt: (Not) Reaching Out to Jennifer Aniston!

It’s hard to imagine a celebrity gossip with a longer shelf life will ever come along – and we’ve seen John Edwards knock up Rielle Hunter, Michael Jackson pass away, Tiger Woods implode and Britney Spears go bat$h!t insane. All stories that have piqued lasting interest, yes. None of them will likely be emblazoned across celebrity gossip magazine covers years later, however. For Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, their place in history is assured. Here are a couple of gems from this past week … THE TRUTH : What a great headline for a made-up story . According to OK, Brad recently reached out to Jen on the 10th anniversary of their wedding. We’d already heard Jen’s stealing Brad Pitt – this confirms it! Meanwhile, over in NW, whatever that is, we can finally learn THE TRUTH about about Brangelina. Considering none of what they say is true, that’s ironic. Hey, at least these publications are making up new stuff. Just last month, a certain magazine actually rehashed the original Angelina hijacking of Brad. If Angelina and Brad actually split, would we even believe it? Would we assume Jennifer Aniston were somehow involved? Would OK! wet itself with joy? We may never know!

Carrie Underwood wedding photo

The wedding day do was created on the spot, she says. “We didn’t practice before the wedding or anything – we’ve done so many award shows and so many hairstyles, so she just lets me do what I do.” One element of her look that did require a bit of homework, however, was Carrie’s lush set of false eyelashes. Carrie Underwood’s summer wedding in Georgia called for some creative moves to keep the bride looking cool, says Underwood’s make-up artist Melissa Schleicher. “It was really, really hot

Kate Middleton and Prince William: A Ruined Romance or A Wedding on the Way?

Kate Middleton and Prince William have either set a date for their wedding… … or called it quits due to a lack of one. It all depends on which tabloid story one believes, as two of the nation’s most ridiculous, least reliable publications have come out with opposing reports this week. See for yourself: On one hand, it makes sense for Middleton to “cozy up to [William’s] best friend’s brother,” as teased above; she’s allegedly angry at him for continually cheating over the years . Then again, the couple reportedly stands to inherit $20 billion if they tie the knot. Could they really turn such a sum down? Of course, these reports are all based on tabloid tales that quote anonymous sources; change facts more often than Bachelor contestants call off engagements; and capitalize whatever headlines will sell the most copies each week. Without an Royal engagement even announced, just click on the pics below to see what nonsense various rags have claimed about Middleton and William over the last few months:

American Public: Too Much Chelsea, Not Enough Real News

If you thought the media’s obsession with Chelsea Clinton’s July 31 wedding went a little overboard, you’re not alone. A new poll has found that a majority of Americans think there was too much coverage of the wedding at the expense of real news. The News Interest Index Survey, conducted July 29 through August 1 by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press,  found  that 58 percent of respondents felt there was “too much” coverage of the Clinton wedding. As the Culture and Media Institute  reported , the three broadcast networks – ABC, CBS and NBC – aired 87 stories about Clinton’s nuptials between July 25 and August 1. That represented a 48-percent increase over coverage of former first daughter Jenna Bush’s wedding in 2008. Networks had reporters on the scene in Rhinebeck, N.Y., and brought in gossip columnists and celebrity wedding planners to dish on the event. But at what cost? Other news happened over the weekend, after all, including continued drama in the Gulf of Mexico and fallout over the leak of classified documents related to the war inAfghanistan, as well as economy and immigration issues. Americans noticed, according to the survey. While half believed the media delivered the “right amount” of coverage on the oil spill, pluralities felt there was “too little” coverage of the “Afghan War Diary” leak (41 percent) and the economy (42 percent).

Roberto Martinez, Ali Fedotowsky Plan Spring Wedding

She’s no longer The Bachelorette after an emotional season finale, but if all goes according to plan, Ali Fedotowsky will soon go by another name: The Bride. Hunky Roberto Martinez popped the question Monday night on ABC, and is apparently serious about making the Massachusetts native his wife in short order. “In the spring, we’re thinking,” Ali said when asked about when she’d like to marry her new fiance, who she chose over the broken-hearted Chris Lambton . While their wedding will likely be a big event – “Her mom wants like 700 people,” Martinez said – the couple already extended an invitation to a VIP guest. We’re not talking about host-pimp Chris Harrison, either. Asked by Jimmy Kimmel if they’d invite President Obama, who was not invited to Chelsea Clinton‘s wedding , Fedotowsky replied, “Absolutely, if they’ll come.” We wouldn’t bank on that, but either way, it looks like a wedding actually taking place for these lovebirds is 20 times more likely than, say, Jake and Vienna. Spending five days together for every 10 days apart while the show aired, because of demands of the show, their relationship evolved out of necessity. “We played games,” Ali said of entertainment in sequestration. “We made up handshakes.” Roberto adds, “I learned how I’m supposed to eat popcorn.” So there you go. Ali and Roberto are still together. But will they make it to the altar? The show’s track record is not good, but the pair is not worried. “We have so much faith in our relationship,” says Fedotowsky. “Every day we tell each other, ‘You are my priority. We’re going to put each other first.’” Will Ali Fedotowsky and Roberto Martinez last?
