Conservative CPAC Member Defends Slavery And Recommends Segregation The GOP goon s quad is at it again…. via Think Progress A panel at the Conservative Political Action Committee on Republican minority outreach exploded into controversy on Friday afternoon, after an audience member defended slavery as good for African-Americans. The exchange occurred after an audience member from North Carolina, 30-year-old Scott Terry, asked whether Republicans could endorse races remaining separate but equal. After the presenter, K. Carl Smith of Frederick Douglass Republicans, answered by referencing a letter by Frederick Douglass forgiving his former master, the audience member said “For what? For feeding him and housing him?” After the exchange, Terry muttered under his breath, “why can’t we just have segregation?” noting the Constitution’s protections for freedom of association. Watch it: ThinkProgress spoke with Terry, who sported a Rick Santorum sticker and attended CPAC with a friend who wore a Confederate Flag-emblazoned t-shirt, about his views after the panel. Terry maintained that white people have been “systematically disenfranchised” by federal legislation. B-b-b-uut wait, it gets worse. This babbling bigot also gave life to the idea of black people being inferior to white people and women ‘staying in their place’ in front of men. When asked by ThinkProgress if he’d accept a society where African-Americans were permanently subservient to whites, he said “I’d be fine with that.” He also claimed that African-Americans “should be allowed to vote in Africa,” and that “all the Tea Parties” were concerned with the same racial problems that he was. At one point, a woman challenged him on the Republican Party’s roots, to which Terry responded, “I didn’t know the legacy of the Republican Party included women correcting men in public.” Is this fool serious?? Around 7:30pm EST it was reported that Lil Wayne had been hospitalized for another seizure, was in a coma, and damn near on his death bed. It is now reported by YMCMB that Wayne is alive and well. This is the most confusing near-death EVER! According to TMZ reports : Lil Wayne is in ICU in critical condition after suffering yet another seizure, and we’re told it doesn’t look good … TMZ has learned. We broke the story … the 30-year-old rapper was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in L.A. Tuesday night after suffering multiple seizures. He was released Wednesday but just hours later one of his bodyguards found him in his room, on the floor and unconscious. Wayne was rushed to the hospital again, but this time he did not stabilize. He was taken to ICU, where he was placed in restraints because he was shaking uncontrollably. We’re told Wayne is currently “unstable,” and has been placed in an induced coma. He is breathing through tubes. We’re told several people are at Wayne’s bedside crying, and a number of rap artists and family members are on the way. Sources say the scene is violent as Wayne shakes uncontrollably. Sources say there’s evidence Wayne went on a Sizzurp binge after being released Wednesday, because doctors found high amounts of codeine in his system. We’re told Wanye’s stomach was pumped 3 times to flush the drugs from his system. Our prayers are with Wayne and his friend, family, and fans. That said, if he’s blessed enough to make it though this, somebody has GOT to get a hold of him! We better not see ONE member of YMCMB with a dumb-a$$ double cup in their hand ever again! 46 People Arrested During Brooklyn Protest Over Teen Killed By Police Things are continuing to heat up in NYC as a heartbroken community in Brooklyn continues to protest the shooting death of a 16-year-old teenager who allegedly pointed a gun at NYPD before they opened fire, shooting him to death. via The Grio Nearly four dozen people were arrested as scores of demonstrators gathered in Brooklyn for a third consecutive day to protest the NYPD department following the police-involved shooting of a 16-year-old boy over the weekend, authorities said. Protesters attended a candlelight vigil Wednesday night for Kimani “Kiki” Gray just blocks from where he was shot to death by police Saturday night. The anger was palpable as a group of young people heckled police officers in helmets and later marched down a street. The vigil’s organizers tried and failed to calm the young people, some of whom later threw bottles at police officers. One officer’s face was hit with a brick; he was treated for a laceration and released from Suny Downstate Hospital, police confirmed. Forty-six people were arrested on disorderly conduct charges during Wednesday evening’s protest, including Gray’s sister, police told NBC 4 New York. Police said additional and varying charges are pending for many of those arrested. Specific charges against Gray’s sister were not immediatgely clear. A spokesman for Gray’s parents said they would not speak publicly as long as there was violence, which he said has “clouded their message.” “It’s a tough time for the community,” said the spokesman, Rev. Gilford Monrose. “But the family and myself do not condone the violence.” Too many lives are being lost as a result of these young people being in the wrong place at the wrong time and often for the wrong reasons.
