Ariana Grande experienced the highs and lows of life as a friend of Justin Bieber this week. First, the young singer received a peck on the cheek from her fellow star, posting a photo of the cute incident on Twitter and giving her grandmother a shout-out in the caption: “You’re crazy and nonna says thank you, she loves you,” Ariana wrote to Justin. But then Grande was forced to delete the image, seemingly because she faced the sort of harassment to which Selena Gomez can likely relate. “Everyone, girls are allowed to be friends with guys. I’m a lady. Chill out,” Grande Tweeted after removing the apparently offensive picture. To quiet any rumors before they really start, allow us to remind Beliebers: Ariana has been dating Australian celebrity Jai Brooks for 10 months. He even posted photos of the couple on Instagram this week and included with it a sweet message to Grande: ‘”This girl means so much to me. Not many long distance relationships [work out], but ours is different. We are not only [each other’s] boyfriend/girlfriend, we are also [each other’s] best friends. I am the luckiest guy on this earth and really have found one of a kind.” So take a breath and relax, Beliebers. Oprah Winfrey befriended Paula Deen in early 2012 and even spent a night at Deen’s Georgia home, where she conducted a wide-ranging interview. Over a year later, in a deposition for a lawsuit, Deen admitted using racial slurs in the past, a revelation that rankled many, including her friend. Until now, Winfrey had remained silent on her friend’s controversy, but addressed it this week during a sit-down of her own for her new film The Butler . Oprah Winfrey on Paula Deen, Racism “In the very first days I tried to reach her and then I decided to stay out of it as I saw it blowing up,” Winfrey told ET this week. “In time she will be fine.” “For me, it all just felt kind of sad.” Oprah’s feelings on the n-word are very clear, but she believes people need to let the “dust settle” before they can have a “real conversation” about race. She says she is well aware of racism today, even if she’s reached the point where at times it’s less overt than for other women who are minorities. “You know, you see those fools on Twitter sometime say ridiculous things,” Winfrey says. “Nobody in their right mind is going to call me the N-word.” “But nobody in their right mind is going to do that to my face, because true racism is being able to have power over somebody else,” Winfrey explains. “So that doesn’t happen to me that way.” “It shows up for me if I’m in a boardroom or situations where I’m the only woman or I’m the only African American person within a hundred mile radius.” “I can see in the energy of the people, they don’t sense that I should be holding one of those seats. I can sense that. But I can never tell, ‘Is it racism? Is it sexism?'” When asked to comment about Deen during another interview with Extra , the 59-year-old laughed and struck a lighter tone than she did with ET. “Oh my god! I don’t have anything to do with Paula Deen ,” she insisted. “She is not the first white lady to use the N-word! Good lord!”

Woman Has 21 Drinks Before Driving and Kills Two Teenagers According to Mail Online Footage from a Texas bar shows a 23-year-old woman consuming 21 drinks before she drove home the wrong way down a highway, killing two teenagers in a head-on crash. Nicole Baukus, from Spring, is facing up to 60 years in prison if found guilty of two counts of vehicular homicide and one count of vehicular assault. A court was told this week that Baukus drank four bottled beers and 21 ‘shooters’, or spirit mixers, in about four and a half hours, before getting in her pick up truck and causing the fatal crash. Prosecutors at her trial this week showed video footage of Baukus drinking at the On the Rox sports bar and of her pick up truck traveling the wrong way down a highway in Conroe, on June 29, last year. She is accused of crashing head on into a car being driven by Nicole Adams, killing the 19-year-old and her back seat passenger, Travis Sanders, 18, according to KHou News. A third passenger, 21-year-old David Porras, was seriously injured in the crash, which happened just before 3am. In court yesterday, prosecutors played emergency calls from other drivers as they reported seeing a pick up truck traveling the wrong way. Before police could stop Baukus, the fatal collision took place. An hour after the crash her blood-level alcohol was more than three times the legal limit. Prosecutors also claim she had drugs in her system. Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission agent Oscar Williams told the court Baukus had consumed beer and shooters at On the Rox, from 9.19pm to 1.46am. He said that a tray of shooters was seen being delivered to her table just after midnight, which violated the Texas commission’s rules, according to The Courier of Montgomery County. Baukus denies the charges, according to Montgomery County Police Reporter. The trial is expected to last five days. We bet her azz won’t pick up another drink again. She should have had a friend drive her home and now two innocent lives are lost. SMH.
