Movieline’s Week in Review: Diff’rent Strokes to Move the World

And so another week ends at Movieline, thus bringing our regular Friday retrospective into sharp, clear and unusually bittersweet focus. It’s nothing a double bourbon (or whatever you’re drinking; put it on my tab) and a couple days off can’t fix, though. From all of us, have a fine weekend, and be sure to join Christopher Rosen here for your Movieline fix in the days ahead. Au revoir!

QUACK-QUACK! Where to Find This Week’s Awesomest Critical Skirmish

So there’s this documentary called Burzynski opening this week in New York City. I haven’t seen it and had never even heard of it before last night. But oh, what an introduction at The Village Voice , where critic Ella Taylor — perhaps still rinsing bile residue after her Sex and the City 2 takedown — absolutely trashed the film, its subject and its director. And then came the defenders trashing Taylor. Wait — what the hell is a Burzynski again?

Michigan

Below are pics from our campaign visit to Michigan. I did something at a finance event I haven’t done in a very long time – I introduced Dad to the crowd (because my Mom had hurt her hand at a campaign event). I have never been completely comfortable speaking in public but it just seemed easier this time because it was my Dad. On to California and Miami later this week! Florida and the Olive Garden

Here are pics from our most recent swing through Florida and our dinner at the Olive Garden in Orlando. Later this week, we’ll have more from Florida and New Mexico . Also, we will be at our cabin in Sedona for a few days (this time without reporters) and promise to share some pics of the family! Song of the Day: “Nightmares + Lullabies” by Six Red Carpets (Their self-produced album is awesome and they have a wonderfully independent sound. Be sure to visit their site and give a listen!)

Maine

There are few things as pretty as the northeast in the fall. We had some really great experiences in Maine over the weekend, visiting various campaign headquarters, meeting supporters and stopping by a beautiful pumpkin patch. The changing autumnal leaves and crisp temperatures were a gorgeous backdrop for all of the election activities. We’ll keep rolling this week and will have lots more to share with you!
