The footage captures a woman laughing while pouring water on a 9-month-old girl asleep in her crib. The infant starts coughing until just seconds later, when another splash of water pours on the child’s nose and leads to both more coughs and some crying. “Payback for waking me up all kinda times of [the] night,” 33-year-old Caitlin Alyse Hardy wrote in a post that accompanied said video as she posted to her Facebook page. This is all according to the information the Sumter County, South Carolina, Sheriff Anthony Dennis tells PEOPLE . Several people who spotted the video once it went up alerted the sheriff’s office with their concerns, sending the link to the office’s website and to the sheriff personally, he recalls. “I didn’t think it was real at first,” he explained. When questioned, the suspect told investigators “she was joking or playing a game with the baby.” “We didn’t take it as a joke or some type of game she was playing with a 9-month-old,” he says. “We wanted to make sure the child was okay. Luckily, the child was okay, but on Wednesday, authorities arrested Hardy on a charge of cruelty to children for the January 29 incident. “Hardy did pour a bottle of water on a 9-month-old female infant while the infant was sleeping,” the police department’s statement alleges. “After being poured with water the second time, the infant woke up coughing. Hardy video recorded the incident and posted it on her Facebook page.” Hardy was booked and released from jail on Wednesday after posting a $1,500 bond, according to reports from TV station  WIS  in Columbia.

MoNique and Steve allegedly got into a heated argument during taping of his talk show while she was there to promote her Las Vegas residency. The disagreement was allegedly sparked while the pair were discussing Mo’Nique’s controversial comments about Whoopi Goldberg  and Tyler Perry. Mo’Nique recently referred to Whoopi in an interview as ‘the help’. Allegedly, Steve told Mo’Nique that she needed to apologize to Whoopi and others that she wrongfully dissed and she allegedly wasn’t having it. Things reportedly got out of hand after Harvey mentioned to her that if she went through with her threat, “her husband would have to come out and square off.” The cameras were said to be rolling during the heated exchange and its believed the episode will air in a couple of weeks.

Source: Westend61 / Getty Man Fakes A Fall At Work And Gets Charged With Fraud A man from New Jersey has officially been charged with fraud after surveillance footage showed him faking a “slip and fall” at his former workplace, according to reports from   CBS . The (honestly kind of hilarious) video shows 57-year-old Alexander Goldinsky purposely turning over a cup of ice onto the floor of his office’s break room. After then throwing the cup in the garbage, he walks back over and steps on an ice cube, and very unconvincingly “falls” on the floor. The man stayed there, laying on his back until he was discovered, CBS reports. Following this poor attempt at some insurance money for his “accident,” Goldinsky was later arrested on January 15 and charged with insurance fraud and theft by deception since, ya know, the fall seems completely non-accidental . The incident took place last year at an unidentified company in New Jersey, where Goldinsky was employed as an independent contractor. Following his arrest, he was released with a summons until he has to go to court in February. “Yes, I was brought to the police department,” he said to CBS New York. “I didn’t do it, it was a mistake.” But, on the contrary, authorities believe that the footage clearly shows he faked the fall. Following the incident, Goldinsky filed a claim for an ambulance and medical care at a hospital for the injuries he allegedly suffered. This is still an open and active investigation, according to prosecutors. The New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal is taking a bigger interest in cracking down on insurance fraud within the state, according to CBS New York. WELP: Tekashi 6ix9ine Pleads Guilty To 8 Federal Counts, Facing 47 Years In Prison

TMZ reports that the rapper who was arrested in November on racketeering and firearm charges has pleaded guilty to EIGHT counts. The counts include; multiple counts of racketeering, conspiracy, firearms offenses, and narcotics trafficking. Tekashi did not plead guilty however to a charge involving an April 3, 2018 robbery of rivals of the Nine Trey gang. As previously r eported prosecutors claimed that he fired a gun while committing a crime and the charge for that carries a possible life sentence with a mandatory minimum of 25 years served. They alleged that he and his manager Shottie and two other Blood Gang members robbed rival gang members at gunpoint. In the newly unsealed court docs, prosecutors claim the rapper was involved in dealing heroin, fentanyl, ecstasy, amphetamines, and marijuana, and conspired multiple acts of murder, robbery, and extortion. If you’re curious about the “Dummy Boy’s” fate, you’ll have to wait—he won’t be sentenced until January 2020. The DailyNews reports however that he faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 47 years in prison, but could get less for his cooperation. “In the fall of 2017, I met and joined the Nine Trey Blood Gang. As a member of Nine Trey, the enterprise engaged in such activities including shooting at people, robbing people, and at times drug trafficking,” said Tekashi, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez. He said that on March 20, 2018 he “helped members of NineTrey attempt to kill a rival gang member.” The following month he helped fellow gangsters rob a rival, he said. WELP, so much for that. Someone’s going to jail—PERIOD.

Source: Icon Sportswire / Getty Man In Georgia Scams Friends And Family With Fake Super Bowl Tickets Georgia police are currently looking for a man who reportedly made over $750,000 after scamming friends and family with fake  Super Bowl  tickets. WSB-TV Atlanta  is reporting that Ketan Shah is wanted for allegedly scamming a number of people he was close with–which includes his very own mother. His wife has commented saying that she hasn’t seen her husband since she reported him missing back in January. An alleged victim of the scam, Alan Tartt, said that Shah took off with $20,000 of his money and never delivered on the promise of some premium Super Bowl tickets. “It’s just crazy, mind-blowing,” he said. “Everything seemed legit.” Tartt also cited that before this specific incident, Shah had a seemingly reliable business image and it’s easy to see why so many people were fooled by him. Shah’s own mother says she was scammed out of a whopping $36,000, but she won’t be pressing charges. “It was a similar promise to all the other people who bought tickets,” explained Minish Shah, who isn’t related to Shah but claims to have known him closely. “One hundred level seating with access to the concierge lounge and a few pre-parties. I find the whole situation kind of bizarre, and hopefully, there will be some kind of logical explanation.” “Right now, what we know of is just slightly over three quarters of a million dollars scammed out for Super Bowl-related stuff,” Gwinnett County police spokesperson Wilbert Rundles explained. “It’s not that he posted some ad and random people are contacting this guy for tickets and being scammed. He’s known these people for many years. One of them, he’s known his whole life because it’s his own mother, and he’s taken advantage of them.” Four Atlanta men have filed theft by deception reports on Shah, who still hasn’t been found.

Source: ALEX EDELMAN / Getty Former Walmart Santa And 4 Others Charged With Murder A Georgia dad–who formerly worked as a Walmart Santa–is now facing murder charges along with four other people in the death of his 14-year-old daughter after her body was found buried in her father’s backyard back in December. Mary Crocker was last seen in October while her 14-year-old brother, Elwyn Crocker Jr., was last seen in November of 2016, according to the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office. Neither children were reported missing, but the remains of both were discovered in the yard outside the home of their father, Elwyn Crocker Sr., on December 20, 2018. Authorities initially announced charges for concealing the death of another and first-degree cruelty to children against Crocker, the teen’s stepmom Candice Crocker,  their step-grandma Kim Wright, and Wright’s boyfriend, Roy Anthony Prater. Similar charges later were filed against Candice Crocker’s brother, Mark Anthony Wright. On Monday the charges against all five were upgraded to felony murder for the death of Mary Crocker, the spokesman for the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office, told PEOPLE . Charges have not been brought in the death of Mary’s brother because “the last time he was seen was in November 2016,” Sullivan says. “We believe that his death was about two years ago, so finding evidence linked to his death was a little more challenging.” Authorities have not revealed a motive or a cause of death and say the investigation is ongoing. Sullivan says the suspects remain jailed without bond in separate facilities in Effingham County and neighboring counties.

This Is America: ICE Set Up A Fake University In Detroit To Find And Deport Undocumented Immigrants

Source: asiseeit / Getty Homeland Security Operated This Fake University For Years It might just be easier to go to school where your parents or your older sibling did from now–that is, if you wanna make sure you’re attending a real college. Newly unsealed court documents revealed that the University of Farmington Hills–which is advertised online even now as a “nationally accredited business and STEM institution” in a suburb of Detroit –was, in reality, a sting operation. The whole thing was run by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement meant to lure immigrants on student visas into knowingly paying for fraudulent paperwork in order to stay in the country, the Detroit News reported on Wednesday. This whole hoax began back in 2015 but later intensified in 2017 after Trump’s inauguration, which resulted in the arrests of eight student “recruiters.” These arrests follow said recruiters allegedly taking in a collective $250,000 in profit in exchange for finding and helping at least 600 other students—mostly from India—to get in on the scheme. According to the federal grand jury indictments, both the recruiters and the students they found knew the university was operating an illegal scheme, but they did not realize it was actually run by ICE. These same student recruiters were also accused of helping the fraudulent students get the paperwork the students needed to be able to stay in the country from the university. Starting in 2017, ICE agents began posing as officials at the university, which didn’t have a campus at all, but rather, a small office in a corporate park. The school was legitimized by The Department of Homeland Security, who named the University of Farmington on its list of certified schools for international students. “Our innovative curriculum combines traditional instruction and distance learning with fulltime professional experiences,” the website promises. “We offer flexible class schedules and a focus on students who do not want to interrupt their careers.” A small number of students who joined in on the scheme asked to be paid for recruiting other fake students, and met several times with university officials who later turned out to be undercover ICE agents. Most of the students they recruited had actually arrived in the country on legal, valid student visas and then transferred to Farmington Hills. The students paid the university several thousands of dollars to get the paperwork proving they were full-time students and then proceeded to go along with their regular lives afterward. The eight recruiters in question were charged with harboring aliens for profit and conspiracy to commit visa fraud and face a maximum of five years in prison. The other fraudulent students who were arrested are facing deportation. As other reports point out, this is not the first time a fake university has been created as bait for visa fraud. Back in 2016, the Department of Homeland Security announced it had charged 21 people with student and work visa fraud after establishing a fake University of Northern New Jersey.

NYC Public Housing Residents Prep Rent Strike Amidst Brutal Heating Conditions

Now, plans to go on rent strike are swiftly approaching, according to New York Daily News. Many NYCHA residents are spending their time at home in freezing temperatures as a polar vortex makes it’s way across the U.S. “It’s a disaster,” said 76-year-old Bertha Spivey, a resident of NYCHA’s Soundview Houses in the Bronx. “You can’t take showers or do dishes. We have no heat or hot water. If one goes, both go. It happens every winter for last four years.” Spivey’s neighbor Rachel Jean, 40, said she had to boil water to make it hot and bring some heat into her apartment. “We’re bathing with it,” Jean said. “When the water does come on it’s brown and then it shuts off. I have six kids. We’re just waiting for them to do something.” Tenants at the Queensbridge Houses in Long Island City are tired of waiting for the government to do something. Certain residents have already started laying the groundwork for a major rent strike, which could force NYCHA to make long-neglected repairs. Almost 70 people assembled at the Queensbridge complex on Monday where they received advice from housing advocates and lawyers. Back in 2013, tenants of NYCHA’s Lexington Houses in East Harlem threatened the city with a rent strike after having no gas for more than two weeks. NYCHA made the repairs 24 hours later. “I’m 100% behind a rent strike,” said Brooklyn City Councilman Rafael Espinal Jr. , a candidate for public advocate, who showed up at the rent strike strategy session. “If you’re not getting adequate service you have every right to withhold your rent until the work is done.” A NYCHA spokesman said repair crews arrived at various sites on Wednesday to restore heat. The agency also activated its situation room in Long Island City, Queens to prepare for dangerously low temperatures. Meanwhile, City Hall is trying to convince federal housing officials and a federal judge that NYC is capable of running its own housing system without any takeover from the Trump administration. Last fall, U.S. District Judge William Pauley rejected a settlement between the city and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), saying the federal government was neglecting its responsibilities to NYCHA. Both sides have since been discussing ways to address the various issues NYCHA residents face, including heating problems, mold and dangerous levels of lead. HUD secretary Ben Carson is set to appear in New York on Thursday to make a “huge & historic announcement that will be great news for the residents of @NYCHA,” according to a tweet from Lynne Patton, the head of HUD’s federal housing programs in New Jersey and New York. We’ll find out if they make impactful moves. Or else… They better gear up for that strike.

CNN reports that Shirell Powell stood by her brother’s bedside for nearly two weeks until she was told he was brain dead after a narcotics overdose. She then sadly told doctors to take him off life support and he passed away shortly after. The problem? The man was reportedly NOT her brother. Powell is suing St. Barnabas Hospital for negligence and is seeking monetary relief for “severe emotional harm and injuries” as a result of the hospital mistakenly identifying the unconscious man as her brother. Powell’s brother Frederick Williams is very much alive. The man she thought was her brother was actually Freddy Clarence Williams who was wrapped in a neck brace and tubes. He died July 28, 2018, and so far no family and friends have come forward reports CNN. Powell and her attorney claim that the hospital should’ve verified the man’s identity via his social security card. Can you imagine accidentally pulling a stranger off life support?!
