Dave East Turns Himself In On Assault Charges Yet another NYC rapper is headed to the courthouse over slapping someone up this week… Dave East is living up to his street rep out here…and it could cost him a few fines and community service time. The rapper is facing misdemeanor assault charges after allegedly popping a man on Pier 40 in NYC while deboarding a party yacht this past July. The incident was caught on camera and briefly went viral on social media: According to TMZ , the man Dave struck, 28-year-old Joel Rosario, says he had no confrontation or even contact with Dave inside the party venue, so he was completely blindsided by the attack and has no idea at all why he hit him. He also claims that he didn’t even know who the rapper was, and police only identified Dave as the man who hit him after an investigation. After the incident, Rosario had to be treated for a laceration above his left eye. Dave turned himself in to police on Tuesday afternoon and was charged with misdemeanor assault and released. Kim Kardashian Reacts To Kanye’s Latest Rants While Kanye West has been doing everything under the sun OTHER than releasing music in a timely fashion…Kim Kardashian has remained largely mum on his conflated political ideals and conflicting fashion choices. While Kanye has been out here ranting and raving on behalf of “his boy” Trumpito and his sudden new thoughts on what should be done about the 13th Amendment …Kim has been minding her own business and staying out of it. But now, somewhat predictably, Kim is backing up Kanye’s kookiness while at the same time saying “don’t lump me in with that isht, though” — in so many words. As a source close to the Kardashian clan told E! Online : “They definitely have their issues, but Kim always defends Kanye publicly and tries to be supportive. She believes Kanye is entitled to his opinion and can express it freely. She may not always agree with him, but she still feels he’s allowed to believe what he wants.” This is who he is and she knew that when she married him. He’s always been controversial and can ruffle feathers. Kim’s not surprised in the least bit. Kanye loves to speak his mind and that’s not going to change. Whether or not Kim shares the same beliefs, she knows she’s never going to stop Kanye from expressing himself.” It’s pretty clear that Kim has her hands full enough with Kanye at home having heated arguments over IG posting times and band-aid colors . Looks like she’s not devoting too much additional energy into her husband’s current career-tarnishing shenanigans. Sounds like she’s pretty much prepared to deal with this BS out of him every few months, and largely ignores it all until it blows over . What do you think? Each Halloween , white folks all across America feel like it’s their opportunity to show just how racist and hateful they are. According to NWITimes , a young girl was on the phone with her mother, Toya Griffin, while walking along her route to school when she came across an effigy of a Black man being hanged in someone’s front yard. Her mother implored her to take a photo in case the owners targeted their home in the future. “She was like, ‘No, no, they’re going to see me taking a picture of this.’ She’s like, ‘I got to walk to school every day,’” Griffin said. Eventually she did take a photo and sent it to her mother who contacted the police. “The hands were tied behind the back. The feet were tied around the ankles,” Griffin said. “It’s the same manner as a lynching.” A police spokesman said that the after speaking to the homeowners, the lynched “decoration” was said to have had a “Jason” mask on initially, but the masked was “stolen” so the character was only a black-faced body resembling a Black man. Momma Griffin also had an issue with the officer who responded because he didn’t see the problem with the hanged “Jason”, to that she responded: “OK, what does Halloween have to do with lynching?” she said. “This is not a scarecrow. This is not a witch.” Checkmate, bacon boy. What DOES Halloween have to do with lynching? We’ll wait…

Dorothy Hong/Team Epiphany “Insecure” Season 3 Finale Reactions Last night the season three finale of “Insecure” rightfully named “Ghost-Like” aired and the Issa V.S. Nathan drama finally came to a head. After Nathan popped up at Issa’s house after a MONTH STRAIGHT of being M.I.A. he was secretly shooed away by Molly who refused to let him ruin her bestie’s birthday. Later Molly admitted to Issa that she “had her back” and ghostbusted Nathan, but it backfired when Issa angrily stormed away and told Molly she overstepped her boundaries. Nathan apologizes to Issa and tells her that he actually went back to Houston because he was feeling very negatively and just didn’t want to talk to anyone. It sounds a loooot like he was going through a depression but watchers never got a definitive answer either way. Issa: “You ghosted me and left LA because you were in a bad mood?” Nathan: “I wish I had a better explanation.” And while some people applauded “Insecure” for seemingly starting a slow leak on a mental health discussion… One thing Nathan’s storyline did do well today is show the impact that black men’s mental health issues can have on black women. Between him & Lawrence, Issa has dealt w/a lot from men who have depression. Concert-Goers At NYC’s Global Citizen Festival Mistook A Fallen Barrier For Gunshots

Theo Wargo/Getty Images for Global Citizen Panic Ensues As People Mistake Fallen Barrier For Gunshots At Festival Every year, thousands of people pack into Central Park in New York City for Global Citizen Festival, a concert that boasts big headliners and free tickets, all for the cause of ending extreme poverty by 2030. This year, however, there was some panic at the festival that almost halted the concert. Just ahead of Janet Jackson’s set at the Global Citizen Festival, a fallen barrier caused panic among the 60,000 attendees–who reportedly thought it was the sound of gunshots. Witnesses at the scene told  the  New York Times  that the confusion and fear of an active shooter at the music festival nearly caused a stampede as concertgoers fled. Chris Martin, who was on the stage at the time, tried to calm the attendees down. “What happened is a barrier I think fell down. Of course it caused people to be a bit frightened and stuff like that. But nobody is trying to hurt nobody. You are all safe,” he said to cheers before handing the microphone to NYPD’s assistant chief Kathleen O’Reilly, who also reassured the safety of the attendees. There was no shots fired. Hopefully the show is going to go on. We just have to reassess the situation and try and create a new safety lane. We’re going to have to try our best.” Global Citizen later tweeted out that there were a few injuries caused by those running away, etc, but the show would go on. Thank you to all the Global Citizens who took action and joined us today. Our thoughts are with those who were injured or afraid after the barrier fell earlier this evening. After some amazing sets from the likes of Cardi B and Janelle Monae, Janet Jackson took the stage–and even brought out Q-Tip out as a surprise guest to perform their classic hit “Got ’til It’s Gone.” The Weeknd ended out the night with an amazing performance, and the rest of the night went off without a hitch.

So Sad: 4-Year-Old Fatally Thrown From Brooklyn Building By Mentally Ill Older Brother

A 4-year-old boy tragically died early Saturday morning following an incident with a family member. The toddler reportedly plunged to his death after his mentally ill older brother threw the child from their Brooklyn building, officials said. Shimon Smith was found in the courtyard behind his apartment on Nostrand Ave. near Ave. J in Flatlands about 3:30 a.m., cops said, where he died at the scene. WABC-TV Reporter Marcus Solis tweeted about the incident early Saturday morning, reporting, “Family tragedy in Brooklyn. 4-year old thrown off a roof to his death. 20-year old brother with history of schizophrenia in custody.” NOW: Family tragedy in Brooklyn. 4-year old thrown off a roof to his death. 20-year old brother with history of schizophrenia in custody. pic.twitter.com/78d2n5F46T — Marcus Solis (@MarcusSolis7) September 29, 2018 “It’s very inhuman. Too inhuman,” said John Okoh, whose family lives in the building. “They ought to have controlled the person who is sick.” The tot was thrown from a high floor, police sources said, but have not confirmed which number or exactly how high that is. According to reports, Shimon’s 20-year-old brother is actually the one who ran out into the street and flagged down a passing police car following the incident. Unfortunately for him, his now-late younger brother, and everybody involved with the situation, he is the one who ended up finding himself in handcuffs after cops realized that he may have been responsible for the boy’s death, sources said. Sources told  CBS New York  that the older brother eventually confessed to throwing Shimon off the building in Brooklyn’s East Midwood neighborhood. Charges against the older sibling, who has a history of schizophrenia, are currently pending. There are no other details regarding the horrifying events at the moment, or whether or not the poor child’s brother will sustain any charges following the death of 4-year-old Shimon Smith. Condolences go out to the entire family.

Sean Nemeh / SplashNews.com Feds Find Gun In Tekashi 6ix9ine’s Home During Raid According to TMZ Tekashi6ix9ine’s Brooklyn home was raided by federal agents early Friday and discovered a gun during the search. Tekashi was allegedly  not home during the time of the raid and it’s currently unknown what prompted the search, or who the gun discovered in the home belonged to. A source close to Tekashi told stated the rapper was currently in the process of moving out of the Brooklyn home and had not been in the house for “several weeks”, and that many people, including movers and cleaners, have been frequently inside the property during his absence.
