“You don’t know if a guy like Dwayne [Johnson] is gonna come in and have the same persona as The Rock, or, is he gonna be able to immerse himself,” Barry Pepper told me at the recent Snitch press junket. “He was just so dedicated to the film…I was really impressed.” I sat down with Dwayne Johnson as well and asked him if he thinks that with racially diverse films like Snitch and the Fast and the Furious franchise, is Hollywood changing? “When the intention is to create a movie that’s authentic and that’s real world…and the studio gets behind that and sees that vision and pushes all their chips in — well, then you get a movie like this where it IS racially diverse and it is the world that we live in today.” The Walking Dead’s Jon Bernthal also co-stars, and just wrapped Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street . Are there any similarities between blue collar and white collar crime? “Trying to take the easy way out, desperation, doing what you can to get by…There’s all sorts of motives for people to make bad decisions. En route home from war, Prince Harry “can’t wait” to become an uncle this year and is “thrilled” Prince William and Kate Middleton are expecting. “Obviously I’m thrilled for both of them,” he said, joking, “It’s about time.” In an interview in Afghanistan , where he served since September, the prince says he had chatted with the couple when their news was released. “I spoke to my brother and [Kate], and they’re both very well and both very happy obviously,” he says, expressing regret at how it came out. “I think it’s unfair that they were forced to publicize it when they were, but that’s the media for you,” Harry said, referring to Kate’s morning sickness. The royal family leaked the Kate Middleton pregnant bombshell due to her hospitalization; she was probably only 8-9 weeks along at the time. Harry’s remarks on the subject were given weeks ago, but were kept under wraps for security reasons, released now because he’s returning to the U.K. “I literally am very, very happy for them,” he says, “I just only hope that she and him – but mainly Catherine – hopefully that she gets the necessary protection.” Protection that will “allow her as a mother-to-be to enjoy the privacy that that comes with. I seriously hope that’s going to be able to happen.” Now that he’s back from his tour of duty, which followed the Prince Harry naked scandal, is there some pressure on him to follow his brother’s lead? “I don’t think you can ever be urged to settle down,” he says. “To find the right person where everything feels right, it takes time, especially for myself and my brother.” As he has hinted before, it is hard to find the right kind of woman who isn’t going to be scared off by everything else that goes with being with a royal. “You ain’t ever going to find someone who’s going to jump into the position that it would hold,” says the 28-year-old Prince of Wales. “Simple as that.” Harry was also named the World’s Hottest Bachelor recently, so that’s a positive for any potential suitors. Bret Easton Ellis may be no longer under consideration to write the Fifty Shades of Grey screenplay, but he’s still making his opinions about it known. Namely, he says it would be “ludicrous” to cast a gay actor – specifically Matt Bomer – as Christian Grey in the film because of his sexuality. The openly gay Bomer ( White Collar, Magic Mike ) is considered by some people to be a perfect Christian based on his looks and acting ability. It’s to say Ellis, 48, who raised eyebrows last year by calling Glee a puddle of HIV , is not one of those people angling for Matt to be cast. Ellis insists he is not discriminating on grounds of sexual orientation, but unabashedly believes Bomer is a bad choice. He wrote on Twitter. “Okay. Let’s finalise this … Matt Bomer is totally hot and a very good actor. He is NOT right for Christian Grey and it complicates the role.” “I don’t care how good an actor you are but being married to another man complicates things for playing CG.” “This is NOT about discrimination. It’s about an intensely straight actor wanting absolutely to screw Ana Steele.” “Fifty Shades of Grey: the most popular book on the planet having Matt Bomer – a gay actor – play Christian Grey is absolutely ludicrous. Why?” “Okay I’ll say it. Matt Bomer isn’t right for Christian Grey because he is openly gay. He’s great for other roles but this is too big a game.” “And I think if Matt Bomer wants the role which I doubt the international press tour will be an embarrassing fiasco. He’s not CG. Never.” “I am NOT discriminating Matt Bomer because of his sexuality. Fifty Shades of Grey demands an actor that is genuinely into women. Get it?!?” “I actually think it’s cool that women want Matt Bomer as Christian Grey. It means that we’ve moved beyond stereotypes and that gay is hot.” “I think Matt Bomer is incredibly handsome and a good actor but I think he comes off totally gay in White Collar. And that is why no to CG.” NOTE: The role has not been cast, but Bomer (like the Vampire Diaries ‘ Ian Somerhalder) is frequently discussed as a possible casting choice. It’s unclear if enough readers even know who he is, or care that he’s gay, to influence their perception of his character and on-screen chemistry. Two male dancers, Thomas “Awesome” Austin and London Steele, who danced with Tatum while he was a stripper in Florida, told TMZ last week that the experiences in the film, and even Tatum’s character’s name (Magic Mike), are all their own. Austin told the website, “He only danced for four months. How many events could have happened to him?” He added that even Tatum’s move in the film, the Hot Seat, is all his own. Director Steven Soderbergh has said that the film is loosely based on Tatum’s experiences as a male dancer. And in a new interview, Tatum is opening up about the claims against him. “Those guys have been trying to make money off of me since I got into this business,” Tatum told reporters, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “Look, there’s nothing that’s factual in this whole movie other than that I was an 18-year-old kid and went into this world and I dropped out of college from playing football and was living on my sister’s couch. There’s not one character that I took from my real life; this is just a world that I went into, and I had a perspective on. And we created everything from a fictional place.” “Magic Mike” opens Friday, and Tatum is going into opening week with no ill will for his former co-workers. “I don’t want to say anything bad about them because they’re part of the reason why I think this world is so interesting,” he said. “They’re very interesting, intriguing and bizarre characters, and I’m thankful for weird people out there. They’re some of the most creative people.” The June 29 film release also stars “True Blood” actor Joe Manganiello, “White Collar” star Matt Bomer and Matthew McConaughey. In an interview with MTV News, Tatum recalled how the film came out of a conversation he had with Soderbergh. “I was having a beer with Soderbergh — we were doing a movie together — and I told him about [my past stripping],” he said. “I’d been doing it for eight months of my life when I was, like, 18 or 19, and he said, ‘We gotta make a movie out of that.’ And I was like, ‘Why?
