Oh, Elle, No! Kim Kardashian Frolicks, Flirts with Justin Bieber in Magazine Spread

Prepare for more death threats, Kim Kardashian. The large-breasted reality star, who was legitimately threatened for posing with Justin Bieber at a White House event in May, will likely face more vitriol from a few million teenage girls when the new issue of Elle hits newsstands. That’s because it features a multi-photo spread of Kim and Justin, one whose theme Kardashian blogged today “was The Graduate , for obvious reasons, LOL.” In that 1967 movie, Dustin Hoffman’s young character is seduced, and bedded, by a much older woman. It’s fine if Kim wants to laugh out loud over that reference, but she better not make any other sounds out loud around Justin… if you know what we mean! What’s Ewww? Click on the photos above to enlarge shots of Kim Kardashian and Justin Bieber at play. Really, the only thing more nauseating than this pictorial is the official trailer for the new season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians .

Spain Trip: Todd Senses ‘Something More’ Happening Behind Scenes With Michelle O

“Uncomfortable” was the word of the day at Morning Joe when it came to discussing Michelle Obama’s decision to go on a luxurious Spanish vacation in the midst of a recession—and to miss celebrating her husband’s birthday with him to boot. Chuck Todd didn’t go into details, but NBC’s clearly ill-at-ease political director suggested: that this was a “private decision” by the First Lady; that it wouldn’t have made any difference what Pres. Obama’s political advisors would have said; and that “you get the sense here that there was something more to this” than pure politics. Joe Scarborough reinforced Todd’s message: ” this is part of a bigger narrative, isn’t it, about Michelle Obama? ” In contrast, Mark Halperin seemed eager to get off the touchy topic.  When Scarborough asked him about it, Halperin parried with a question to Todd about the positive cards the White House has to play. This NewsBuster is in no position to speculate as to what that “bigger narrative” might be, or what that “something more” is.  But surely a story worth following . . . Note: Joe cited yesterday’s column by Maureen Dowd, which in the course of criticizing Mrs. Obama pointed out that the president’s birthday wasn’t the first important occasion the First Lady missed: When the BP oil spill stained the White House, making the president seem so impotent that he had to make his first national address from the Oval Office, the first lady was playing with her mother and daughters in Los Angeles, staying at the Beverly Wilshire. She was taking in a Lakers game the night of his address. When the BP oil spill stained the White House, making the president seem so impotent that he had to make his first national address from the Oval Office, the first lady was playing with her mother and daughters in Los Angeles, staying at the Beverly Wilshire. She was taking in a Lakers game the night of his address.  Note Dos: Morning Joe introduced the segment with a Late Night clip of Jimmy Fallon quipping that in light of Michelle’s Spanish extravagance, her new Secret Service code name is “Kanye.” Ouch. Note Tres: In my item about Pres. Obama’s appearance on The View, I noted that the prez had taken a gratuitous swipe at the First Lady, claiming she wasn’t interested in news shows. Note Quatro:  I understand that the First Couple has to deal with scheduling pressures far outside the normal realm.  Even so, as I observed to a friend yesterday: odds my mother would have gone on a vacation without my late father and missed his birthday = precisely 0 in 1,000 trillion.

Danielle Staub to Teresa Giudice: Foreclose This!

Danielle Staub has two messages for Teresa Giudice: Told you so! Avoid payday loans, no money down mortgages and be smart with your money. That’s the basic reaction this reality star has for her Real Housewives of New Jersey castmate, as Giudice faces serious bankruptcy and financial problems . Speaking to reporters about Teresa’a $11 million debt this week, Staub said: “I’m going to tell her what I told her before – your house is in foreclosure. I wasn’t lying and you did know… I think people need to spend within their means and if you don’t know what you have, you need to communicate with your husband.” This is easily the most sane Danielle has ever sounded. Staub and Giudice went at it on the amazing July 13 episode of this Bravo show, as seen above. Since then, Teresa has gone on The View and said her husband, Joe, never said a word about their impending foreclosure. But that’s a lame excuse, Danielle says, adding: “One thing that comes with marriage is that it’s fifty-fifty. It is your responsibility to know these things. You can’t just throw him under the bus… That’s not cool.” In the end, Staub has profound advice for all the Real Housewives: “Be very humble, be grateful for the opportunities that have been given to you and try to teach your children that hard work is definitely something that becomes lucrative to you in the end.” In the rear end , she means, as Danielle knows from personal, videotaped experience .

Michaele Salahi Mistreated by The View, Attorney Whines

Whoopi Goldberg did not hit Michaele Salahi when that attention-starved waste of space appeared on The View yesterday. Let’s get that fact straight. Earlier reports claimed that this Real Housewives of Washington D.C. cast member had accused the host of making such a violent gesture, but attorney Lisa Bloom tells EW.com her client never made the allegation. However, Bloom is outraged over the disrespectful way in which she says Salahi was treated during her appearance on the talk show, which included numerous references to her “crashing” the White House and a bizarre cameo by Goldberg, who grabbed Michaele’s arm (saying “Excuse me, would you get back to the White House, please?”) and then rushed off stage. You can watch the six-minute segment and then take in what Bloom said about it in a statement below: Michaele Salahi on The View “It’s not appropriate for another host to come up from behind her and ask her, the guest, to change the subject. If Whoopi didn’t like the way the interview was going, she should have told Sherri or Joy or one of the producers,” Bloom said, adding that Goldberg cursed her client out in the dressing room backstage. Bloom then defended Salahi’s White House incident in general: “She was never charged with a crime. The U.S. attorney in Washington D.C. released a statement saying they’ve never committed a crime and have never been charged. But I guess the people at The View feel otherwise. Without reviewing any of the evidence, they’ve decided that they are going to smear her. It’s unprofessional.” Bloom and Salahi can cry themselves a river of this treatment, but The Real Housewives of Washington D.C. premieres tonight on Bravo – and they should send Goldberg a bouquet of flowers after the inevitably strong ratings come in.

Image Of Impotence: Obama Admin Can’t Get Sherrod On The Phone

Operator, oh could you help me place this call? You see the number on the matchbook is old and faded.  Jim Croce, ‘Operator,’ 1972 The Obama administration, the folks that want to run our health care and who knows how much else of our economy and our lives, can’t get a simple phone call through to one of its former officials. In this afternoon’s press conference, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs repeatedly said that the Obama administration, through the person of its Agriculture Secretary, has tried but failed to have a phone conversation with Shirley Sherrod, the USDA official it forced out yesterday. ROBERT GIBBS: Secretary Vilsack is, has tried and is trying to reach Ms. Sherrod. When the Secretary reaches her, he will apologize for the events of the last few days, and they will talk about their next steps. . . . . GIBBS: The Secretary is trying to reach Ms. Sherrod . . . The next step that has to happen is the Secretary needs to speak with her. And he’s tried to reach her and we hope that they [inaudible]. What an image of impotence.  Will the MSM note it?

Liberals on JournoList Would Watch Limbaugh Die, Press DNC, Obama to Refuse to Recognize Fox News

Jonathan Strong of the Daily Caller has more shocking e-mails from liberal journalists today. He starts with an NPR producer who admits flaming hatred for Rush Limbaugh: If you were in the presence of a man having a heart attack, how would you respond? As he clutched his chest in desperation and pain, would you call 911? Would you try to save him from dying? Of course you would. But if that man was Rush Limbaugh, and you were Sarah Spitz, a producer for National Public Radio, that isn’t what you’d do at all. In a post to the list-serv Journolist, an online meeting place for liberal journalists, Spitz wrote that she would “Laugh loudly like a maniac and watch his eyes bug out” as Limbaugh writhed in torment. In boasting that she would gleefully watch a man die in front of her eyes, Spitz seemed to shock even herself. “I never knew I had this much hate in me,” she wrote. “But he deserves it.” So much for the idea that NPR is an oasis of civil discourse in a desert of vituperation. Spitz is a producer for trendy-hot NPR station KCRW and its nationally distributed talk show Left Right & Center (which could be called Three Leftists and Tony Blankley ). But Spitz has also  done stories for NPR’s evening newscast All Things Considered. Strong found that JournoList liberals also discussed how Fox News isn’t a news organization and should be denied access to White House briefings and denied a skybox at the Democratic National Convention. Strong summarized it this way: The very existence of Fox News, meanwhile, sends Journolisters into paroxysms of rage. When Howell Raines charged that the network had a conservative bias, the members of Journolist discussed whether the federal government should shut the channel down. “I am genuinely scared” of Fox, wrote Guardian columnist Daniel Davies, because it “shows you that a genuinely shameless and unethical media organisation *cannot* be controlled by any form of peer pressure or self-regulation, and nor can it be successfully cold-shouldered or ostracised. In order to have even a semblance of control, you need a tough legal framework. ” Davies, a Brit, frequently argued the United States needed stricter libel laws. “I agree,” said Michael Scherer of Time Magazine. Roger “ Ailes understands that his job is to build a tribal identity, not a news organization. You can’t hurt Fox by saying it gets it wrong, if Ailes just uses the criticism to deepen the tribal identity.” Jonathan Zasloff, a law professor at UCLA, suggested that the federal government simply yank Fox off the air. “ Do you really want the political parties/white house picking which media operations are news operations and which are a less respectable hybrid of news and political advocacy? ” But Zasloff stuck to his position. “ I think that they are doing that anyway; they leak to whom they want to for political purposes ,” he wrote. “If this means that some White House reporters don’t get a press pass for the press secretary’s daily briefing and that this means that they actually have to, you know, do some reporting and analysis instead of repeating press releases, then I’ll take that risk.” Scherer seemed alarmed. “So we would have press briefings in which only media organizations that are deemed by the briefer to be acceptable are invited to attend?” John Judis, a senior editor at the New Republic, came down on Zasloff’s side, the side of censorship. “Pre-Fox,” he wrote, “I’d say Scherer’s questions made sense as a question of principle. Now it is only tactical. ” It’s a little bizarre to see liberal journalists saying Fox offers too much opinion to be recognized at the Obama White House, when the Obama White House puts Ed Schultz in the front row of press conferences and calls on The Huffington Post — as if it were a news outlet that didn’t offer opinions.

Google, scarier than we all think?

SANTA MONICA, Calif., July 19 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Citing new information about Google's classified government contracts and the Internet giant's admitted Wi-Spying activity, Consumer Watchdog today said it is more imperative than ever for the Energy and Commerce Committee to conduct hearings into possible privacy violations by Google. In a letter to Committee Chairman Henry Waxman and Ranking Member Joe Barton, the nonpartisan, nonprofit public interest group's John M. Simpson wrote: “Based on today's Washington Post, it appears that Google holds classified U.S. government contracts to supply search and geospatial information to the U.S. government. In addition, White House records show that Google executives have been holding meetings with U.S. national security officials for undisclosed reasons. Finally, it also appears that Google's widely criticized efforts to collect wireless network data on American citizens were not inadvertent, contrary to the company's claims.” “As history has repeatedly shown, alliances between the U.S. intelligence community and giant corporations that collect data on American citizens can be a toxic combination where the U.S. Constitution is concerned,” the letter said. In a June 9 letter to the Energy and Commerce Committee, Google director for public policy Pablo Chavez asserted that Google “mistakenly included code in our software that collected samples of 'payload data'” from private WiFi networks. But review of a patent application from Google covering the gathering of WiFi data published Jan. 28 shows that the data collection program was a very deliberate effort to assemble as much information as possible about U.S. residential and business WiFi networks. The letter continued: “…what the patent does show is that Google's recent claims about how the Street View program was designed are not accurate, and that the company always intended to collect and store the 'packets' of wireless data that contain so-called payload information. “The patent makes repeated reference to 'capturing' packets, including paragraph [0055], which states that the system will enable geolocations so long as the equipment being used 'is able to capture and properly decode a packet…' “This raises serious questions about whether Google has engaged in a reckless effort to amass private data without giving any thought to the possible misuse of that information, and whether it can be trusted to safeguard the information it collects from the prying eyes of the U.S. government.” Read the patent here: http://insidegoogle.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/US20100020776.pdf Read the letter here: http://insidegoogle.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/LtrWaxman071910.pdf In addition, White House visitor logs show that Alan Davidson, Google's Director of Public Policy and Government Affairs, has had at least three meetings with officials of the National Security Council since the beginning of last year. One of the meetings was with White House senior director for Russian affairs Mike McFaul, while another was with Middle East advisor Daniel Shapiro. It has also been widely reported that Google has been working in “partnership” with the National Security Agency, the very same government body that illegally intercepted the private communications of millions of Americans during the Bush administration http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/googles-wi-spying-and-intelligence-ties-… added by: littlwarrior

Then call the Republicans what they are un-American, traders for BP, Big Oil and anyone that will fill their pockets with money, who want unemployed desperate workers who will work for pennies, who want to see American jobs go overseas, and want to fill the pockets of the wealthy from the pockets of the middle class and poor. They loved George Bush and they want Jeb next, so American can be poorer. SAY IT! And while the pigs are away, pass everything we need. Then take the credit when it gets better!!! The south is not going to secede, why should they, they think they can beat you in November.
