Meri Brown Continues to Shade All the Sister Wives

Meri Brown is really not even trying to hide it anymore. In the past, we maybe had to parse the reality star’s words and try to determine whether or not she was throwing shade at her fellow Sister Wives. But that was back then. Now? At this moment? Based on what the television personality just shared on her Instagram Story? We don’t think there’s any doubt any longer. “Never water yourself down just because someone can’t handle you at 100 proof,” Brown shared a couple days ago, not referencing Kody Brown or any of his other wives by name… … but come on now. Meri, for those who don’t follow Sister Wives closely, has been unhappy in her marriage for years now. It’s difficult to blame her, considering she must share her husband and her life with three other women at pretty much all times. About four years ago, Meri tried to break out of this arrangement and actually thought she had found a new guy — only to fall victim to a very embarrassing catfishing scandal . Since then, the state of her relationship with Kody has been a prominent Sister Wives storyline. In April, Meri made it clear she wasn’t happy about the move from Las Vegas to Arizona. About a month later, she appeared to get especially personal when she wrote the following on social media: I wish more women realized that helping another woman win, cheering her on, praying for her, or sharing a resource with her, does NOT take away from the blessings coming to them. In fact, the more you give, the more you receive. Empowering women doesn’t come from selfishness but rather from selflessness. Based on the fact that Meri wanted to start a bed and breakfast, and that none of her co-stars were willing to chip in financially with it, this was assumed to be a shot at Robyn, Janelle and Christine. And now we have Meri’s latest social media shot. The only question that now remains is whether or not Kody will response. Shortly after Meri slammed the Sister Wives for not being supportive, Kody pretty clearly came right back at her. “Bitterness is the undoing of creativity,” he Tweeted, adding: “Thus, a poet allows his blood to sweeten with pain. May all pain sweeten your blood so you will access Source Energy and find Peace.” Where will things go from here? It’s hard to say. All we know for now is that Sister Wives is filming once again — and you better believe producers are loving all this drama and in-fighting among the cast. The Marathon Continues: Nipsey Hussle Honored By His Beautiful Daughter During Graduation Ceremony [Video]

Source: David Crotty / Getty Nipsey Hussle Honored By Daughter During Graduation Ceremony We bet Nipsey Hussle would’ve been the happiest and proudest dad if we were here today. In case you missed it, his baby girl Emani Asghedom graduated from elementary school over the weekend and one clip shows the 10-year-old thanking her late, legendary father. “I want to begin by sharing my thankfulness for my mom, the community, and my dad for always believing in me,” she said in this sweet clip, posted alongside some photos of the special occasion. Emani wasn’t the only one remembering Nipsey this weekend. The BET Awards went down at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles and DJ Khaled, John Legend, Marsha Ambrosius, and YG’s tribute to the deceased rapper was absolutely beautiful. Nipsey’s family, Emani included, was also in the building to accept a much-deserved Humanitarian Award on his behalf… May the late King rest in peace.

Source: Charlotte Observer / Getty Cam Newton Tries To Buy Passenger’s Seat For $1500 There are some things in life that neither cash nor celebrity charm can buy. Cam Newton learned this lesson this weekend. The Carolina Panthers’ whimsically-dressed quarterback was aboard a flight this past weekend and was dissatisfied with the amount of leg room he had in his seat (damn, Cam, no first class?). The Supermannin’ signal caller offered another passenger, a white gentleman, $1500 to switch seats with him. Here’s what happened next… So this happened… @CameronNewton offered a man $1500 cash for extra leg room on a 10hr flight and the man said “No??” #GiveFranceTheNFL pic.twitter.com/xQohV9Ngef — Eli Edwards (@ElisaraEdwards) June 22, 2019 *Neptunes sound*

Jackson State University Student Creates Straw That Filters Lead

F or Jackson State University graduate student LaMonté Pierce what started out as a class project focused on addressing an issue faced by communities in Mississippi led to the creation of a product designed to combat lead poisoning in water, WJTV reported. The JSU graduate student has received impressive offers from big retailers like Walmart which offered to sell CleanStraww in nearly 4,000 stores. https://t.co/0R8Zxwu4Tj — Lanaya Lewis (@LanayaLewis) June 20, 2019 Pierce and other students that he collaborated with decided to use the assignment as an avenue to address water contamination impacting the City of Jackson. They designed a straw that could be used to filter water. Pierce and his classmate Andrew Willis decided to go beyond the project and continue to do research and testing to turn the straw into a product that would be a catalyst in addressing water contamination in communities across the globe. Pierce’s efforts led to the creation of Cleanstraww . The straws are made of non-toxic materials and has a three-step filtering process which divides sediment and particles from water. He utilized a 3-D printer for the creation of the straw. “I saw somewhere they were drinking out of toilets, they were drinking from the river, different things like that. They use simple filters that you can find in everyday filters, but the thing was they did not filter out lead. If we can filter out lead, we can pretty much filter out anything,” he told the news outlet. “Take the responsibility of clean water directly out of the government, state and city officials hands and put it in the hands of the consumers. If you want clean water, here you go.” Several national retailers have expressed interest in selling his product, including Walmart. Pierce hopes that he can find investors for his product to grow his business and create more jobs in Mississippi. Products like Cleanstraww are needed. According to CBS News , lead in America’s water systems has become a growing national crisis. Eric Giese, a 12-year veteran of the village’s Police Department. Giese has been a sergeant for a year and a half. He was placed on administrative leave immediately following the incident. On Thursday night, hundreds of people gathered at the corner of Racine and 20th streets to remember Tyrese . Community advocate Tory Lowe gave an emotional speech to the crowd, saying: “We want justice for Tyrese. We want answers, and the only way we’re going to get the answers is if we demand the answers. Tyrese was stopped for riding a bike,” Lowe said. “And he ended up with two shots in his head. How do we know that he got two shots in his head? Because the body was released to the family. This wasn’t told to us. We saw it.” Racine Police is still investigating the case. SMH
