Some Of Our Favorite Beauty Gurus Give Their Moms A Mother’s Day Beat

Source: Paras Griffin / Getty Give Your Mom Some Make-Up This Year, Just Like These Influencers Mother’s Day is quickly approaching, and in the spirit of the most important day for all the mamas out there, some influencers are joining those that gave them life for some special segments. Jackie Aina uploaded a video on Tuesday titled, “Turning My Mom Into an IG Baddie For A Day!!!” where she spends the day getting her mom all the way glam in honor of the approaching holiday. From a full beat face, to glam wigs and outfit changes, her mom really did transform into the Jackie we all know and love. In honor of this fun video from Ms. Aina, let’s take a look at some other beauty gurus who have brought their mom in to break up the monotony of another make-up video. Another great example of this is from one of our other faves, Alissa Ashley . A couple of months back, she made a video revamping her mom’s makeup routine in an effort to have her looking as youthful as possible–I mean, just LOOK at the difference in that thumbnail. If you’re good at makeup and still don’t know what to get your mama for the big day, a nice makeover really might just do the trick! In a fun twist of events, Alissa’s twin sister Arnell Armon also made a video with their mom–but this time, she’s the one doing her daughter’s makeup! This video is hilarious and just shows that spending quality time with mamadukes is good no matter what you end up doing……even if you end up looking crazy from a botched makeup job. A little over a year ago, a Youtuber by the name of Raven Elyse gave her mom a full glam makeover and the results were absolutely stunning! A lot of us learn about makeup through our moms as children, so it’s fun to turn the situation around and teach our mamas something for a change. Everyone knows how full of personality Patrick Starrr is, so it’s really no surprise that his mom has just as much outrageousness in her as the beauty guru we all know and love. This video is just even more proof that making your mom feel beautiful and confident on Mother’s Day is one of the best gifts you can give! To wrap up some of our favorite influencers and their mom makeup tributes, we turn to Shalom Blac and her beautiful mother. This makeup transformation is similar to the rest, but this entire video will have you wondering…how does this woman look so young?! The fountain of youth is alive and well with this one!! If you’re into makeup and want to spend some quality time with your mom this Mother’s Day, tell her you’re doing her makeup for the big day–or maybe just get her a gift card to Sephora if she’s already got her own routine down.

Twitter Update Allows Users To Retweet With Gifs, Photos & Videos

Source: NurPhoto / Getty If you were one of the everyday Tweeters, who wanted the ability to retweet or quote retweet using a gif, photo or video your prayers have been answered. Twitter announced a new update allowing users to do such adding more flavor to your conversations on the social media platform. The update which is now has been rolled out across Apple iOS and Android devices will now all users to add up to four pieces of multimedia whether it be four photos, videos or a gif. When doing so, the original tweet will now be placed conveniently below so it doesn’t get lost in the conversation. When speaking about the new feature, Twitter broke down the process of coming up with the function and stated in a series of Tweets: “People come to Twitter to share their thoughts on interests, events, and news, and we wanted to give them more ways to express themselves.” “During the first usability test, we found it was challenging for people to quickly understand all the content in a Retweet with media. This was due to the layout; two large Tweets stacked on top of each other.” “To improve comprehension, we focused on creating hierarchy, prioritizing the author’s voice, and providing more context around the Tweet being Retweeted.” Next, we ran a second usability test, introducing a condensed inner Tweet that was styled similar to a pull quote. This was to help differentiate the two components of the Retweet. Participants reacted well to it. Stay tuned!” That’s all fine and dandy, and it’s great that Twitter is listening to users but where in the world is the ability to edit Tweets after we hit send? — Photo: NurPhoto / Getty

“Real Housewives Of Potomac’s” Gizelle Bryant Talks New Book, Love After Shermy & Why New Season Is The “Best Yet” (Exclusive)

Source: Bravo / Getty Reality Star & Entrepreneur Talks Season Four Of RHOP Viewers saw plenty of drama last season of “The Real Housewives of Potomac.” Last season, we saw plenty of drama involving the ladies of Potomac. And this season, show star Gizelle Bryant said issues like Michael Darby’s arrest, Monique Samuels’ and Ashley Darby’s pregnancy, Candiace Dillard’s wedding and a cast trip to the Big Easy will not disappoint. “I do feel like this season of ‘Real Housewives’ is the best yet,” Bryant told us. “I feel like this is going to become our breakout season. Not that people don’t know who we are, but I feel like people are super excited about where the franchise is going.” We caught up with the “Everyhue Beauty” founder and mom of three, and she spoke about what viewers can expect, dropping her novel, “My World,” and her dating life after breaking up with her now ex-Sherman. BOSSIP: Things were up and down last season between you and Karen. What is your relationship like now? Gizelle: “Currently, it’s up and down, I never know where it’s gonna land. Off the heels of the reunion last year, said ‘Gizelle, if you’re my friend, you’ll knock down my door. So that’s what I have been trying to do. She’s been in a tough spot, she lost her parents, so I wanna be a friend to her. But if you keep pushing me away, at some point I’m just going to go away…But she and I have known each other for a long time. And I get that she’s a tough friend to have, but you do want her as a friend.” BOSSIP: How are things between you and Candiace now? And how was her wedding? Gizelle: “She actually invited me to the wedding. I did go. She wanted to sit down and chit chat before the wedding because she didn’t want any drama at the wedding. Over time, I’ve got to know Candiace better and I really like Candiace. She’s a spoiled brat. She has issues. But I like her for who she is…It was a beautiful wedding. A beautiful wedding, and so super happy for her.” Source: Brian Stukes / Getty BOSSIP: How is Ashley Darby doing? We know her husband was cleared of suspicion of sex assault, and we know she’s pretty far along in her pregnancy. Gizelle: “She’s eight months, so she’s ready to pop. She’s super excited. We’ve all seen Ashley go through a miscarriage, and struggle to get pregnant again. So she is pregnant – Michael is the father! (Laughs) I don’t know how we feel about that. Just kidding. But Michael is a special character. So we see throughout the season – and you’ve all heard – his allegations. They’ve been dropped. But to get to that place where the allegations are dropped, it’s very juicy and there are a lot of twists and turns, so stay tuned for that!”

Why More Black Women Should Be Considering Having A Doula In The Delivery Room

Source: Chanel L. Porchia Albert / Chanel L. Porchia Albert The Duchess Of Sussex Meghan Markle reportedly used a doula during the birth of the royal baby, prompting more women to explore the benefits of having a doula in the room when they’re delivering their child. Doulas are becoming ever more popular as Black women continue to die at disproportionately higher rates during childbirth. Having extra representation in the room can prevent common medical mishaps that health professionals may otherwise overlook. As we’ve seen, death during childbirth doesn’t discriminate for Black women regardless of socioeconomic status or social class. Champion tennis Serena Williams shared her experience while giving birth and how she had to advocate for herself after doctors refused to check her lungs for blood clots. Shamari Devoe exclusively revealed to us that she too had to advocate for herself when doctors refused to check her cervix while she was pregnant with her twins. We caught up with Chanel L. Porchia Albert — founder of Ancient Song Doula Services, a reproductive health organization focused on providing resources and full spectrum doula services to women of color and marginalized communities, full spectrum doula, lactation counselor, and Midwifery assistant — informed us the benefits of having a doula. What is the role of a doula in the birth room? The role of the doula is to center the voice and autonomy of the birthing person. Providing evidence-based information to make an informed decision about their care and to provide various forms of comfort measures for the birthing person. When we look at black women and birthing the context is about ensuring that the voice of the pregnant person is not lost or fall on deaf ears. African- American women regardless of education, socio-economic status, or educational level are at a greater risk for complications stemming from varying degrees of institutionalized racism and systemic disregard for the voices of pregnant people and over medicalization of birth. Overall, the doula is bringing a human rights framework into the birth room to ensure pregnant people voices are heard and push bodily autonomy Why do you think the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle chose to have a doula in the room with her? Support. I can’t speak for Meghan but my thought is that with the growing news around traumatic birth experiences, the over medicalization of birth, and understanding how black women and those who are considered to be at advanced maternal age wanted to ensure that she had supportive individuals in her corner to assist in advocating for her needs and autonomy in her own birthing experience to ensure the best birth outcome. Birth has become a commodity that sees the value of motherhood in a heavy rotation of getting someone in and out at the cost of the individual. People want the good birth outcome and the experience that centers the parent and child. What’s a common medical emergency that happens in the birth room that doulas often catch? There are varying things that can take place in the birth room that may not be considered a medical emergency but can have lasting effects on the pregnant person such as forced episiotomies, fear-based coercion, over use of medical equipment, not being able to eat and drink in labor, desperation of parent and child at birth. Some of these interventions may be unnecessary and shift to a medical emergency. The doula is there is provide information to make an informed decision about care that centers the voice that is often dismissed in care. How many Black women use doulas? Black women are seeking out doulas at a higher rate then ever before. Understanding the complexities of racism and implicit bias within care and wanting to ensure the safety and well-being of themselves and children. Cost continues to be a barrier in that access but organizations like Ancient Song Doula Services, Mamatoto Village, Village Birth Intl, and others across the nation are and have been working to break down barriers to care. Resources like the Black Mamas Matter Alliance where black women can find a list of kindred partners and collaborators within their respective states to ensure they have the educational resources and support when choosing a provider. How much does a doula cost and how can the average woman get one for free? On average a doula can cost upwards to $3000 for services. There are various programs and models that specifically centers the voices of Black women and provide culturally relevant care from an evidence-based perspective that are free, low cost, or at a sliding scale basis. You can find that at Ancient Song and others kindred partners and collaborators at the Black Mamas Matter Alliance. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE , the Oscar winner told the publication that he had repressed the past abuse, but was triggered after being in the HBO film The Tale . “One day, while talking through the script with Laura, old memories surprisingly flashed in my mind,” he wrote. “I caught my breath and just kept looping the memories over and over, like rewinding an old VHS tape… I said, ‘Laura, I think I was abused.’” The rapper’s also recalls his abuse in his new memoir  Let Love Have the Last Word , which goes into detail about being molested at the age of 9, 10-years-old by a family member. “I was excited for a road trip I was about to take with my family,” he recalled. “My mother; my godmother, Barbara; her son and my god brother Skeet; and his relative, who I’ll call Brandon.” View this post on Instagram Came home to find this waiting on me. Can't wait to start reading it. I should finished reading it by the weekend. #Common #thinkcommon A post shared by Lisa D (@weaverdickerson) on May 7, 2019 at 2:04pm PDT   Common, 47, said that the relative sexually assaulted him at their aunt’s home in Cleveland one night on their trip. “At some point, I felt Brandon’s hand on me,” he wrote. “I pushed him away. I don’t remember saying a whole lot besides, ‘No, no, no.’” He added that no matter how much he begged him to stop, his abuser only continued to assault him. “He kept saying, ‘It’s okay, it’s okay,’ as he pulled down my shorts and molested me,” he said. “After he stopped, he kept asking me to perform it on him. I kept repeating ‘No’ and pushing him away. I felt a deep and sudden shame for what happened.” Common revealed that’s he’s been in therapy to help him deal with the past abuse. “I just pushed the whole thing out of my head,” he admitted. “Maybe it’s a matter of survival — Even now, two years after that flash resurgence of memories, as I’m writing, I’m still working through all of this in myself and with my therapist.” The rapper-actor says that while he hasn’t seen “Brandon” in 25 years, he has forgiven him. “I want to be a person who helps break cycles of violence,” he writes. “This is love in action and I intend to practice it.” It’s rare that Black celebrity men come out as sexual abuse survivors, and we need more to follow in Common’s brave footsteps. We pray he continues to heal and hopefully his story will help others seek professional help as well. Thank you Common for your courage. The Family Of Late Filmmaker John Singleton Is Fighting Over His Will

Source: StarterCAM / StarterCAM / RickeySmileyMorningShow.com via NewsOne.com : It’s been a little more than a week since John Singleton died, but there was already a battle brewing over his fortune. The Oscar-nominated filmmaker and father of seven left a will that was from 1993 when he only had one child. Now the siblings were reportedly preparing for a battle in court. SEE ALSO:  John Singleton Reportedly In Coma After Suffering Stroke Sheila Ward, Singleton’s mother who also handled all of her son’s business affairs, reportedly filed the 1993 will in court. TMZ reported that  “she listed his assets at around $3.8 mil. That means more than $31 million is unaccounted for.” Singleton’s estate was estimated to be worth $35 million. It is possible Singleton had a trust for his kids, which would mean they wouldn’t have to go through a will. As it stands now, under law all of the money would go to his firstborn, Justice. However, another of Singleton’s kids, Cleopatra, reportedly accused Ward of trying to block the children from the estate. TMZ also reported that if Singleton “had died without a will, Sheila would get nothing from his reported $35 million estate, because under California law the assets would be divided equally among his 7 children. But, since there’s a will, John decides who gets what, and who gets nothing. Given the business relationship between John and Sheila, it’s a safe bet she’s the executor of the will, which surely would not please Cleopatra.” Text “RICKEY” to 71007 to join the Rickey Smiley Morning Show mobile club for exclusive news.  ( Terms and conditions ). Cleopatra filed a motion to block her grandmother’s proposed conservatorship and claimed Ward was trying to liquidate all of John’s assets and freeze out his children. TMZ also reported “the kids could file a separate lawsuit if they have beef over the trust or whatever John created to dispose of the $31 mil. A legal fight may not just pit grandma against grandkids … it could also pit some of the kids against the others.” Singleton was hospitalized last month after he suffered a stroke. Instagram Fetish Porn that Instagram Doesn’t Consider Porn of the Day

I am a vigilante! I have been so wronged by the social media platforms over the last 15 years…where I’ve actually wasted time promoting my various accounts on my site – using their platforms for good not evil…even producing content specific to that platform… only to have the shit rudely taken away from me, for doing shit that was barely hardcore….I’m talking all social media platforms from Friendster, Myspace, Facebook, Twitterr, Instagram, TUMBLR….all multiple times….and I never really even bothered with YOUTUBE knowing they’d ban me if I did. I never posted porn, knowing that it would get me deleted…I remember I once got deleted for telling Bijou Philips I was watching her – because she was at a party I was at in Canada and I guess that was creepy…despite being FACTUAL….I also got deleted for saying that Willa Holland was hot and her mom reported me…and who the fuck even cares to remember other reasons I got deleted…but the fact is I got deleted..time and time again.. As social media got more slutty, I didn’t understand the logic of this naked influencer is ok, this naked porn star is bad…it seemed pretty hypocritical to me. I also didn’t understand that me posting a hot half naked chick was porn, but half naked chicks make up 98 percent of instagram. So I stated my reporting, any nipple I saw, or racy content I saw, I’d report it like a NARC….not cuz I’m a NARC…but to understand why some things fly and others don’t… I figured this publicly traded company is just a fucking massive porn site….fetish site…that’s why it works, since we’re all perverts and their main job is navigating how to be seen as a cultural phenom that reflects society and supports liberal causes like Free the Nipple and breast feeding in public…or to fight social norms like periods being bad and bush being bad…so that people like this can exist on the platform, have audience and even monetize on the platform…when what they are doing is fucking VULGAR.. So this pube fetish model artist is ok….but me posting a hot girl in lingerie is not… Go fuck yourself Instagram….you publicly traded porn site… NOT TO MENTION, I can’t even get mainstream advertisers for posting shit like this….and it’s on fucking instagram…with mainsteam ads running against it. What the fuck…right. The post Instagram Fetish Porn that Instagram Doesn’t Consider Porn of the Day appeared first on DrunkenStepFather.com .
