At the end of March, beloved rapper Nipsey Hussle was shot dead , murdered by an acquaintance following a verbal disagreement. Nipsey's funeral included tributes from singers and politicians. He was mourned by thousands — he is mourned by thousands. Fox News villain Laura Ingraham decided to mock those mourners. To smear Nipsey for her viewers, she played a video of a different black man. “Yesterday in L.A.,” Laura Ingraham says in a now viral Fox News clip. “Thousands lined the streets to say goodbye to rapper Nipsey Hussle.” “Now this dear artist,” she says, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “Recently released a song called 'FDT.'” Ingraham then explains that the song's title stands for: “Eff Donald Trump” We don't say this often because it is rarely true, but Ingraham is right about the meaning of that title. She then immediately squanders that brief moment of not being wrong by playing a clip from the music video. As you will see when you watch the clip, the video focuses on an L.A. rapper by the name of YG. That's because it's his song, from his 2016 album, Still Brazy . Nipsey is featured in the song, but it's not his song and he didn't release it. It's also not “recent” in music terms. The song is three years old. Why did Laura Ingraham use her show and platform to play the wrong music video in an attempt to disparage Nipsey? Maybe she just wanted to address hot topics and give her core demographic — ageing white supremacists — a target for their ire. A rapper who doesn't like Trump would certainly make an inviting target. Fox News' whole brand is about distracting people from real stories by drumming up pointless outrage. And maybe Ingraham and her entire staff really didn't know YG from Nipsey. They look like different people to us. But maybe all “Trump critics” look the same to them. Ingraham's latest bad move comes on the heels of months of controversy, including her verbal attacks on children who survive school shootings. The accused white nationalist's remarks have been praised by members of the KKK. In the mean time, rappers and black celebrities have called for a boycott of Ingraham's show. The goal is to deprive her of the platform that she uses to sow misinformation and hatred. Absolutely anyone would mistake one face for another, especially if one spends all day staring at faces. One would hope that someone with the infinite resource of Fox News behind them would be able to do some basic fact-checking. Of course, that's doesn't seem to be a priority for them. The fact that Laura Ingraham continues to have a job shows that the network doesn't take her white nationalist rants seriously. Or worse — that they're pleased with her hateful words. We're sorry to say that mocking the lyrics of an associate of a dead black man is far from the worst thing that Ingraham has said. A man named Eric Holder was arrested for Nipsey's murder and for the shooting of the two men who were with Nipsey but survived. The 29-year-old was brought in following a manhunt and has entered a plea of Not Guilty. His defense attorney is Chris Darden — yes, the very same attorney who rose to fame as a prosecutor on the O.J. Simpson trial. If Holder is convicted, he may face life behind bars.
When Johnny Depp and Amber Heard finalized their divorce back in 2017, they both signed non-disclosure agreements that prevented them from speaking about their brief marriage in interviews. But now, a series of increasingly ugly lawsuits have put their split back in the tabloid headlines, and the financially-troubled Depp stands to lose a lot more than just another chunk of his fading fortune. The latest suit has Depp suing Heard for $50 million , alleging that she violated their NDA by referencing abuse she allegedly suffered at his hands in an op-ed piece she recently wrote for the Washington Post. The suit has seen both parties hurl shocking accusations at the other. At one point, Depp claimed that Heard tried to cut off his finger during a fight and very nearly succeeded. Heard countered that Depp is an alcoholic “monster” who frequently subjected her to violent abuse during his jealous rages. With $50 million on the line, it may seem that Amber has far more to lose in this situation than Johnny. But even if he ends up victorious in the end, the court case and all its damaging revelation may prove even more costly to Depp. That’s because Warner Bros. executives are reportedly considering firing the actor from his role as Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts series as a direct result of his current lawsuit. “Executives at Warner Bros. are wondering how to deal with the backlash of the Depp matter on the Harry Potter franchise,” a source close to the situation tells Page Six. “High-level female execs at the studio are extremely worried about working with Depp and the message it sends to the public, especially after the recent sordid departure of CEO Kevin Tsujihara.” Tsujihara recently left Warner Bros. amid allegations of inappropriate conduct directed at female employees. “This is yet another blow to the morale of female employees at the studio,” the insider claims. “If Warner Bros. continues to stick by Depp, it would reveal a lot about the values the company holds.” Several conflicted employees reportedly place some of the blame on J.K. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter series who came out in defense of the decision to cast Depp as Grindelwald. “Many at Warner Bros. wish that Rowling hadn’t come out so strongly behind Depp, because having made her opinion so public boxes them into a corner,” says the informant. It seems the decision on how to handle the Depp situation has not yet been reached, but insiders expect Warner to cut ties with the actor soon. And astonishingly, Rowling isn’t the only billionaire who’s been dragged into the battle between Depp and Heard. According to TMZ , Chyna’s landlord is suing her for breaking the lease on her Studio City home almost five months early and not paying back the $48K she owes. “In the suit, the landlord says Chyna’s lease called her to be there through March 2019 … but for some reason she upped and moved back in November 2018. Chyna owed $55,546 for about 5 months of rent. The landlord subtracted her $25k deposit, but tacked on $18k in damages he claims she removed “fixtures and equipment” from the pad. The landlord is suing her for that amount plus interest and attorney’s fees.” The news comes just a month after it was reported that Rob Kardashian no longer has to pay Chyna child support for their daughter Dream. Jedidiah Duggar may not have broken one of his family’s bonkers rules , but he’s causing a huge stir among Duggar fans. The Duggars went to a folksy theme park, but Jedidiah’s idea of a “conversation starter” has fans accusing him of portraying Christians in a bad light. Why? Because he essentially went around asking everyone who saw him if they were going to hell. The Duggar family shared a series of photos to Instagram. “This morning we headed over to Branson,” the caption reads. “For a family (and friends!) day at Silver Dollar City!” Silver Dollar City is a Missouri theme park once featured on The Beverly Hillbillies . “We love making memories with our kids!” the caption continues. “The weather was beautiful,” the post reads. “And the lines for the rides were short. A great combo!” “Jackson even got to do a drawing lesson!” the caption adds. The post concludes: “I have a feeling we’ll be carrying at least a few sleeping kids inside when we get home.” But what caught the eyes — and outrage — of Duggar fans and followers was the shirt sported by 20-year-old Jedidiah Duggar. The simple printed tee reads: “If you died tonight would you be in heaven or hell?” “That message on that T-shirt,” marveled one commenter, writing a crying emoji. “Scaring people into faith/heaven is not loving,” that same commenter asserted. “God isn’t about scaring. He is about love” “Nice comment,” praised another in reply. “God is all about love.” The comments continued to pour in after people realized that Jedidiah had worn this shirt to a theme park for some reason. “A relationship with a loving father is what will draw people to God,” writes another fan. “Not the threat of hell.” “My thoughts exactly,” agrees another follower. “Such a shame.” “It is not for you or anyone to assume the state of a persons relationship with God,” asserts a comment. “Or whether they are saved.” But, as you can imagine, not all of those who follow the Duggars saw things this way. “Hell is a reality,” insists a comment. “We can’t ignore it because we don’t like it.” “Its not scary,” claims another. “Its getting folks to think.” “The t shirt makes you think about your salvation,” suggests one. “If you don’t feel conviction, how can you be saved?” “It’s not scary, it’s the truth,” that same comment continues. “Not talking about it, doesn’t make it go away.” That comment even adds: “I am confused as to whether or not you are a Christian” Another asserts: “only someone who isn’t saved would be offended or upset about the shirt.” But critics of the shirt who were themselves devout Christians explained why the tee was so troubling to them. “People who don’t know the lord will see that T-shirt,” one worries. “And most likely will be put off but it’s message.” “They just see the ‘heaven or hell’ choice,” laments another. That comment continues: “And don’t understand the true nature of God and why they would want to be in a relationship with him. So they reject him.” “I don’t see anything wrong with his shirt,” writes a more neutral party. “But I understand what you are saying as well.” Theology is extremely complicated, and even among Christians, the idea of heaven and hell can be controversial and even divisive. Some Christians do not believe in hell. Others, such as strict Calvinists, believe that no human has the power to control their soul’s fate — that it’s all in God’s hands, no matter their deeds in life. But non-Christians, particularly those who do not come from Christian families, may find the shirt less divisive. Inappropriate? Sure, especially at a theme park. But if you don’t believe in hell, the shirt doesn’t really faze you. So we have to disagree with the comment suggesting that the critics were people who aren’t Christians. Kevin Hunter has broken his silence. And he’s said some rather incredible things in the process. Hunter, of course, has been the husband of talk show host Wendy Williams for the past 22 years. He’s also been at the center of some rather nasty stories and rumors for about the past 22 weeks. After having been accused of carrying on affair with someone named Sharina Hudson for quite a long time – an allegation Williams herself addressed on multiple occasions in front of her studio audience – Hunter was then accused last month of fathering Hudson’s child . It seemed like a bombshell claim at the time, one maybe too salacious to be true. But we now know this is one gossip item that has been proven accurate. And we know this for two reasons: 1. Williams filed for divorce last week . 2. Hunter just admitted it. On Tuesday afternoon, Hunter issued his first statement since Williams ended her unhealthy marriage. “28 years ago I met an amazing woman: Wendy Williams. At the time, I didn’t realize that she would not only become my wife, but would also change the face of entertainment and the world,” said Hunter, perhaps laying it on a tad too thick. He continued: “I have dedicated most of our lives to the business empire that is Wendy Williams Hunter, a person that I truly love and respect unconditionally.” It’s sort of true: Hunter currently serves as a producer on The Wendy Williams Show. This is possibly why it took so long for Williams to pull the romantic plug; she was afraid of how such a change in her personal life would affect her professional life. Added Hunter in his mea culpa, essentially admitting to his Hudson affair and even the brand new baby: I am not proud of my recent actions and take full accountability and apologize to my wife, my family and her amazing fans. I am going through a time of self-reflection and am trying to right some wrongs. No matter what the outcome is or what the future holds, we are still The Hunter Family and I will continue to work with and fully support my wife in this business and through any and all obstacles she may face living her new life of sobriety, while I also work on mine. I ask that you please give me and my family privacy as we heal. Thank you. Williams and Hunter got married in 1997 and share an 18-year old son who is also named Kevin. Williams simply cited “irreconcilable differences” in her divorce filing. And a rep for the star simply said the following shortly afterward: “Thank you to everyone for respecting the family’s privacy during this time. Kevin is supportive of Wendy, and they are working through this process together.” Williams, meanwhile, acknowledged the divorce herself on Monday’s episode of her talk show.
