She readily shares her testimony about surviving domestic violence and what that experience did to her psyche. Those experiences have inspired Aguilera to work on behalf of women like herself who have been abused and a great deal of that work took place at The Shade Tree of Las Vegas. Xtina has been donating to their organization for quite some time and last night they honored her with an award and a ceremony that broke the pop star down to tears according to PEOPLE . “It’s just disgusting and it happens far too much to people that we do love,” Aguilera said in a video posted to her Instagram account. “And it is very dear to my heart, because I did grow up in [violence] and I’m a survivor of it — as I’m sure many of you are — and I’m affected by it.” “It’s so important, the work that you put into this,” she added, speaking of the shelter. “That so many volunteers [put into this], and your donations. This past week, I was honored to receive an award from @shadetreevegas, a domestic violence shelter that I donate to….and while I tried so hard not to cry, I ended up balling the whole way through my speech because the statistics of domestic violence in the US are truly horrifying & sad and it’s so important to spread more awareness. .. 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men in the US are affected by domestic violence. Every minute, 20 people are affected by intimate partner violence in the US. That is 10 million a year. .. I remember often having to up and escape in the middle of the night with my mom & little sister, having just the clothes on our backs, to drive cross country for shelter at my grandma’s house. Without that, I would have had to turn to a place like @shadetreevegas for shelter. I have so much respect and adoration for those who give their time and support to hear these victims’ stories and help them regain strength, self empowerment and provide resources for a better independent future. Some aren’t so fortunate to get out….which is why it’s so important to work together to put a stop to these horrific statistics. Moreover, this isn’t just an issue in the US, but happens all over the world, in too many homes!! .. I don’t think there is a more overrated celebrity than Margot Robbie…but then I guess there’s Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone and Anna Kendrick who kind of remind us that the highest paid stars are shit. I don’t know how Margot Robbie came into America with her Australian accent she has been very bad at covering up when playing Americans, but I am going to assume it was through other coming into her. She was a nude character in one movie for one scene and then she existed. I am sure girls out there who were the nude girl in movies, or IG are out there trying to figure out what that nude girl was able to become a high earning super star, while they’re still sucking dick for rent, and I guess we can assume that Robbie’s dick sucking was the right dicks sucked. It is the old adage that if you dig for gold for years and years when there is no gold where you’re digging applies. The protestor got a little too close for comfort and there was a moment the Queen Bee was set to offer the taper and the fade. TMZ has the rest: Lil Kim wasn’t about to let an anti-fur protester tell her what animals she can and can’t wear … nearly trading blows with the woman before security stepped in. Kim was outside Verizon Media Studios in New York City Tuesday when multiple anti-fur protesters started shouting “Stop wearing fur!” at Kim. One woman got just a little too close for LK’s liking … and that’s when she started walking toward the woman telling her to “back up” several times. Lucky for the protester, Kim’s security stepped in between the two and diffused the situation, ’cause it looked like the rapper was ready to throw down. It looks like Mac Miller’s death will not be in vein. Three men are being held to legal task for their role in providing the late rapper’s passing. Page Six is reporting that a grand jury indictment concerning Mac’s death has been unsealed. According to the website the documents state a trio of men allegedly distributed cocaine and oxycodone pills laced with fentanyl to Miller which lead to his untimely death in 2018. Cameron Pettit, 28, of West Hollywood, California; Stephen Walter, 46, of Los Angeles; and Ryan Reavis, 36, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona have all been hit with charges related to his overdose. As expected the last chapter on Nipsey Hussle’s story has yet to be written. It is has been confirmed his life will soon be captured in book form. HipHopDX is reporting that a biography on the slain MC is in production. Penned by former Vibe Magazine editor Rob Kenner, The Marathon Don’t Stop: The Life and Times of Nipsey Hussle intends to detail his come up from growing up in the streets of Crenshaw to becoming of the most beloved rappers of our generation. “The last time I spoke with Nipsey Hussle, he told me, ‘I ain’t outside giving out jewelry or dropping off bags of money on people, but I’m giving out game,’” Kenner told Complex . “This book is my attempt to help fulfill that intention” Kenner also shared how he intends to the “Racks In The Middle” rapper’s contributions in and outside of the booth. “ The Marathon Don’t Stop will also place his accomplishments in proper historical context, giving Nipsey Hussle his rightful place in the history of hip-hop, Los Angeles, and America. It will include interviews with people who haven’t spoken before, as well as insights into the forces that shaped Hussle into the man he became.” The Marathon Don’t Stop is currently scheduled for a March 24, 2020 release.
