According to The New York Times , Batali and his restauranteur business partners in the Bastianich family have officially ended their partnership and Mario Batali is no longer the owner and proprietor of 16 restaurants. Mr. Batali “will no longer profit from the restaurants in any way, shape or form,” said Tanya Bastianich Manuali, who will head day-to-day operations at a new company, as yet unnamed, created to replace the Batali & Bastianich Hospitality Group. “L eaving Neverland ” premiered Sunday and Monday on HBO and the documentary shocked the world with graphic accusations of long-rumored child abuse allegations against Michael Jackson . Many people have been speaking out about the documentary, including Corey Feldman , who was a child actor when he and Jackson became friends in the 1980s. Kelly’s Marriage To Aaliyah Feldman, who is most known for the 1985 film “The Goonies” told Page Six he was never assaulted by Jackson. “What happened with me [and Jackson] was strictly aboveboard,” Feldman said in the interview published Tuesday. “We’d be on the phone for hours. You’re talking about someone who has spent their life in the industry, who grew up in the industry and didn’t have a childhood and have friends and have sleepovers, I could relate. That was my life. We both came from abuse — abusive homes. There is not a lot of kindred minds that can connect on those levels or achieve the success he had. That was the common ground we shared.” He continued, “I am not saying they are lying. I wasn’t there. I can only go based on my experiences. Every victim’s voice must be taken seriously and must be heard. In no way would I ever intimate that I would want them to be silenced.” The 47-year-old added, “If God forbid these things were true, then there is a completely different Michael that I knew. I guess anything in the world of pedophilia is possible. All I can say is my heart goes out to both of them — and if for any reason the things are proven true, I would be in full support of them.” That said, he explained, “I don’t think we can go jumping on a bandwagon without evidence. That’s why there are court cases and cross-examinations … when [Jackson] was on trial [ending in 2005], he was cleared of all the charges … I don’t think anyone can take [the allegations] lightly, but I also don’t think we should go making a judgment on information we have that’s strictly conversation without backup.” Feldman blasted the parents. “To me, the most shocking and appalling part of this whole thing are the actions and misdeeds made by the parents of both children, and the decision to allow their kids to be unaccompanied in the presence of an adult they did not know and trust,” Feldman said. “As a father, I could not ever imagine allowing my child to go off with a grown man I did not consider as close as family without any adult supervision. Not even Michael Jackson. It comes down to trading your kids out for an opportunity, and making them the focus of your financial interests, as opposed to the child’s wellbeing.” Feldman did say he and Jackson slept in the same room, but the singer slept on a cot. In 2017, when choreographer Wade Robson accused Jackson of sexual assault—even though he’d said in the past the singer didn’t assault him—there was a hunt to find Chandler. According to The Daily Mail , he left the U.S. to avoid investigators. In 2003, Jackson was charged with seven counts of child molestation and two counts of administering an intoxicating agent to a 13-year-old boy. He was acquitted of all charges. Like any kids across the world, Wade began to dance and sing like Jackson perfecting his moves. At five-years-old Wade entered a dance contest where the winner would get to meet Jackson at one of his upcoming concerts in Australia. Wade won the dance contest and met Jackson backstage after the show. Jackson invited Wade to join him on stage at his next show the following night. Just as promised Jackson pulled Wade on stage to dance with him. The next day Wade and his mother go to Jackson’s hotel hoping to give him a thank you letter. One of Jackon’s staff members saw them and told Jackson who then invited them to his room. Wade claims they spent two hours with Jackson visiting. Wade’s family successfully tries to contact Jackson while in the U.S. and invites them to visit his home Neverland for the weekend. The Robson family planned on visiting the Grand Canyon but Wade wanted to stay with Jackson and his parents let him. Wade spent five days with Jackson while his family was gone. During this time is when Wade claims his sexual relationship with Jackson began including oral sex. When the Robson’s returned to pick up Wade, he didn’t want to go. So they extended their time at Neverland, where Wade claims the sexual abuse continued every night. The Robeson’s returned to Australia but still kept in communication with Jackson. After some time had passed Jackson invited Wade back to participate in the marketing campaign for his shoe line with LA Gear. The campaign would take six weeks to complete. Wade’s mother came with him. Jackson asked Wade’s mother to let him stay for a year with him but she said no and allowed him to say with Jackson longer before going back to Australia. Mrs. Robeson decides that she and Wade are moving to Los Angeles in hopes to be with Jackson. Jackson invites Wade to be in his ‘Black or White’ video but when they showed up to set they met MaCaulay Cogan . Wade felt MaCaulay had taken his place as Jackson’s “best friend.” Over time, Jackson still visits Wade and the alleged sexual abuse continues. Women’s History Month is one of those observed months when we’re supposed to acknowledge all the ways women are great. Women have always been strong and capable of any and everything — but we weren’t always allowed to show and prove it. We’re afforded a lot of privileges today that even our grandmothers weren’t allowed to do, and that was only 40-50 years ago.
