The Westmoreland News is facing major backlash after they recently ran a recruitment ad for the Ku Klux Klan on its front page. This completely blatant advertisement is complete with disgusting statements like “Wake up White America! Stop allowing these third world savages to walk all over YOUR people!” and the telephone number to a national KKK hotline. Colonial Beach resident Betty Tate Thompson said about the incident on WTVR , “They posted the whole flyer as if they were giving them free advertising. It even had the number on flyer to contact the head of the KKK. Which I thought was totally ridiculous.” Police Chief Danny Plott, who alerted the paper about the ads, told the station that after speaking to the editor of the paper, Brittlynn Powell, she “explained that she wanted to put it in to show people that those of us in Colonial Beach who may think there’s not racism … I think she didn’t expect for this to blow up the way it did.” Sure, seems legit…. Newsweek has reported that there are multiple calls for boycotts on the paper’s Facebook page , saying that the story was essentially free advertising for the hate group.
Former NBC staffers have accused Tom Brokaw of sexual misconduct , and he has admitted that he acted inappropriately, but says that it did not rise to the level described. Now, he sent out a mass email to a number of colleagues, in which he takes a much harsher tone towards the accusations and one of the women who made them. That email has been obtained and published for all to see. In a lengthy email to his colleagues that has been obtained by The Hollywood Reporter , Tom Brokaw denounces the allegations against him. “It is 4:00 am on the first day of my new life as an accused predator in the universe of American journalism.” It’s off to a very melodramatic start. “I was ambushed and then perp walked across the pages of The Washington Post and Variety as an avatar of male misogyny.” If you think that this hyperbole is a bit much, just wait for this next line. “Taken to the guillotine and stripped of any honor and achievement I had earned in more than a half century of journalism and citizenship.” After the hyperbole train comes to a near-stop, he suggests that he knows the motives of Linda Vester, the woman identified by name in the article. “I am facing a long list of grievances from a former colleague who left NBC News angry that she had failed in her pursuit of stardom.” He then drops that he’s responsible for her career. “She has unleashed a torrent of unsubstantiated criticism and attacks on me more than twenty years after I opened the door for her and a new job at Fox news.” Brokaw seems bewildered that these accusations against him were in print. “Linda Vester was given the run of the Washington Post and Variety to vent her grievances.” He then characterizes the accusations against him: “To complain that I tickled her without permission (you read that right), that I invaded her hotel room, accepted an invitation to her apartment under false pretenses. …” He sees these accusations as a personal attack. “And in general was given a free hand to try to destroy all that I have achieved with my family, my NBC career, my writing and my citizenship.” He says that, essentially, everyone is on his side. “My NBC colleagues are bewildered that Vester, who had limited success at NBC News, a modest career at Fox and a reputation as a colleague who had trouble with the truth, was suddenly the keeper of the flame of journalistic integrity.” It sounds like he’s trying to say that she is not trustworthy or truthful. One wonders if he will also say the same about his other accuser if she is named, and about any others who might speak up. “Her big charge: that on two occasions more than 20 years ago I made inappropriate and uninvited appearances in her apartment and in a hotel room.” “As an eager beginner, Vester, like others in that category, was eager for advice and camaraderie with senior colleagues. She often sought me out for informal meetings, including the one she describes in her New York hotel room.” In her accusations, he called her and informed her that she was coming over — after having been turned down when he asked her out for a drink. “I should not have gone but I emphatically did not verbally and physically attack her and suggest an affair in language right out of pulp fiction.” She said that he tried to kiss her against her will, which is something that clearly has stuck with her for a long time. “She was coy, not frightened, filled with office gossip, including a recent rumor of an affair.” So … they were talking. “As that discussion advanced she often reminded me she was a Catholic and that she was uncomfortable with my presence. So I left,” He says that he’s now shocked that she was upset by the visit. “23 years later, to be stunned by her melodramatic description of the meeting.” Interesting to hear the guy who just described being guillotined accuse someone else of being melodramatic . “As I got up to leave I may have leaned over for a perfunctory goodnight kiss, but my memory is that it happened at the door – on the cheek.” Brokaw says that her description of that kiss was not as she described. “No clenching her neck. That move she so vividly describes is NOT WHO I AM. Not in high school, college or thereafter.” Brokaw also says that she left out some details. “Here is a part of her story she somehow left out. I think I saw her in the hallways and asked how it was going.” He says that he offered her career advice. “She was interested in cable start up [sic] and I said I didn’t think that was going anywhere. What about Fox, which was just building up?” He says that he then made that connection happen. “She was interested and followed me to my office where, while she listened in, I called Roger Ailes. He said, ‘send her over.'” He then accuses her of hypocrisy by having never said anything publicly about Ailes after he was accused of sexual harassment and forced to resign . Again, he reiterates that he does not like that the accusations against him were published, as she believes that this woman is biased. “I am stunned by the free ride given a woman with a grudge against NBC News, no distinctive credentials or issue passions while at FOX.” He believes that she was accusing him out of a desire for attention, which is a fairly common deflection from people accused of misdeeds. “Strip away all of the hyperbole and what has she achieved? What was her goal? Hard to believe it wasn’t much more Look At Me than Me:Too.” Sometimes, it’s difficult to know a person’s true character until you see how they respond to adversity. Whether she intends to do so or not, the Little People, Big World has apparently made a habit out of sharing Instagram photos that prompt many followers to make assumptions about her womb. The beloved TLC personality only just gave birth to her first child last May, yet fans have been asking for several weeks if she’s expecting again. Actually, that’s not even accurate. Fans have been stating, very matter-of-factly, that Roloff simply has to be pregnant again. In January, for example, Tori said she loved to see husband Zach on the floor, playing with “kids.” She used the plural form of this word, leading many folks out there to speculate that a second child was on the way for this couple. A month after this caption was penned, Roloff asked her fellow mothers for advice because her nipples hurt while breastfeeding. There could have been many reasons for this pain, but Internet users once again jumped straight to pregnancy. Now, the rumors have started up for the third time. In this new case, the chatter centers on the first image we’ve shared in this article. It’s a sweet and harmless snapshot of Tori lying on a blanket with son Jackson, right? Yes. But it also features the reality star with her hands on her belly. “Picnic snuggles. Anyone else ready for summer?! #zandtpartyofthree #babyjroloff,” Roloff simply wrote as a caption this time around. But it seems like many folks didn’t even bother reading it. They couldn’t stop making presumptions based on the placement of Tori’s hands. “The way you had your hands, I thought you were announcing another baby Roloff,” wrote hazel_eyes209 as a comment to the photo. “You would be great with a second baby,” said a_y_j2001. “You guys make the cutest babies please have another” urged ashley_nicole_mulcahy. As you can see below, these people were not alone: Roloff, meanwhile, may actually be aware of all this chatter. She may be having some fun with it, too. Just over a week ago, Tori said that she’d love to ” totally have a second kid .” And the thing is, we’re sure she will! She and Zach have talked about giving Jackson at least one sibling someday. The veteran reality star took to her Instagram Stories page on Friday and addressed the elephant in the room, which isn’t really an accurate description of the rumors surrounding Jessa these days. It’s more apt to say she addressed the alleged fetus in the womb. Indeed, chatter has been ongoing for weeks now that Jessa is pregnant with her third child , despite already have a two-year old and a one-year old at home. This would be an unusual development for some women… but for a Duggar woman? No judgment or anything, you just never know with this family. “Jessa is definitely pregnant and will be making an announcement in April,” a source close to the family told five weeks ago. Lo and behold, it is now April — and Duggar did just jump on social media to say she has a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT. She’s really expecting again?!?!?!?!?!? No. “Bc I’ve been asked if I’m hiding a bit of a bump… BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! Yes!” Duggar captioned a photo of herself in a baggy sweatshirt yesterday, adding: “But it’s currently a shrinking bump rather than a growing one. #postpartum #baggyshirts #thanksforasking.” Oh. Jessa gave birth to a son named Henry on February 7 of last year and also has a toddler named Spurgeon at home with husband Ben Seewald. It wouldn’t surprise us one bit if the couple eventually adds to its brood with another boy or girl, but not this soon. Heck, Jessa may not be anxious to keep cranking out kids at all if she’s gonna keep getting dragged online for the most basic of acts. Shortly before she joked around on Instagram, Jessa posted a video of her young sons running around outside without shoes on. “Toddlers. So cute to watch them discover all the little details in their world!” Jessa captioned the VERY innocent video. And then she sat back and watched and horrible trolls yelled at her for being a bad mother because the kids weren’t wearing shoes. You tell us: Did Jessa deserve crap for this footage? In a new TLC video, it’s true that Jessa beamed as her younger sister described her experiences as a first-time expectant mother. “It’s so much fun talking to Jinger,” said Jessa, adding: “She’s been going through this pregnancy journey and she’s been drawing out all of the different things she’s experiencing.” Jessa also joked that her sibling better make sure to “enjoy those extra calories!” Does this mean she’s anxious to get pregnant herself and gobble up as much food as possible? Not really. Don’t be fooled. “There’s days where it feels like we have just hardly any time in the evening together,” Jessa said in a Counting On preview in response to Ben mentioning having another child. By now, you've almost certainly heard the news that Tristan Thompson was caught cheating on Khloe Kardashian while she was pregnant with his child. Earlier this month, Khloe welcomed her first child – a girl named True Thompson – but she has yet to kick Tristan to the curb. Fans are growing concerned that she's planning to stick by the Cleveland Cavs forward despite his rampant infidelity. And as much as we hate to admit it, it's looking more and more like Khloe and Tristan will try and work things out. Here's why that's a terrible idea. 1. The Dilemma Khloe’s in a tough spot, no doubt about it. Under normal circumstances, we’re sure she wouldn’t tolerate Tristan’s behavior, but she just welcomed her first child with the man and uprooted her life so that she could relocate to Cleveland for him. 2. Played For a Fool Tristan, of course, is not merely some baby daddy to Khloe. Sources say she was convinced from their first date that Tristan was “the one.” Little did she know, she was just one of many for him. 3. Horrendous Timing Just days before Khloe welcomed her first child, multiple media outlets published proof that Thompson had cheated on at least two separate occasions while she was pregnant. And as the days went by, the news got even worse… 4. What Comes Next? Many thought that Khloe would have already kicked Tristan to the curb by now, but it looks as though the stuation is more complex than that. 5. A Changing View? In the past Khloe has been an outspoken and unforgiving critic of men who cheat on their spouses, but it now looks as though she’s had a change of heart on the matter, as evidenced by her decision to stay put in Cleveland – in Tristan’s home, no less. 6.
