Wow. A Swedish man was being treated in hospital Sunday after being dug out alive from his snow-buried car in which he had survived for two months with no food, according to police and local media. The 45-year-old from southern Sweden was found on Friday, emaciated and too weak to utter more than a few words. The BBC reported the temperature in the area had recently dropped to -22F (-30C). He was found not far from the city of Umea in the north of Sweden by snowmobilers who thought they had come across a car wreck until they dug their way to a window and saw movement inside. The man, who was laying in the back seat in a sleeping bag, said he had been in the car since December 19. “Just incredible that he’s alive considering that he had no food, but also since it’s been really cold for some time after Christmas,” a rescue team member told regional daily Vasterbottens-Kuriren, which broke the news. The Daily Telegraph reported that the man appeared to have survived on melted snow. Amazing that he survived. Source , Reuters
Hopefully it “came” in 30 minutes or less… Dorsey McFadden, a self-proclaimed “usually adventuresome” eater was more than a bit ticked off when she found out that the Bleu Ball pizza she ordered from BlowToad, a popular pizza joint in Carytown, Virginia actually contained bull testicles! “I was more astonished that they wouldn’t just tell you,” explained McFadden. “It’s not a question of allergies for me, but it’s a question of full disclosure. Certainly I think there are some people who for religious reasons or personal reasons just wouldn’t want to eat that.” The menu listed the ingredients for the signature pizza as follows: swinging steak, bleu cheese, and charred onions. Although, it was the restaurant staff’s mistake in not properly informing the customer of what “swinging steak” was. “We do put on the menu that it’s swing steak. That’s another name generally used for it,” said Simons, the owner. “We definitely put the burden of explaining on our servers as opposed to the menu. We don’t try to purposely hide it, though.” Come on, if you already ate the pizza and enjoyed it before knowing what the mysterious topping was, what difference does it make after the fact? The “homegoing” ceremony, marking the singer’s spiritual return “home”, lasted some five hours and was conducted in the Baptist tradition. Although invite-only, it was nationally televised and streamed on Livestream for fans. It featured family friends, professional colleagues and dignitaries from all walks including daughter Bobbi Kristina, cousin Dionne Warwick, actor/filmmaker Tyler Perry, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and Newark Mayor Cory Booker. Flags in New Jersey flew half mast in Houston’s honor. Bittersweet, the ceremony celebrated Houston’s amazing life and accomplishments and guests shared personal anecdotes about their Nippy, her nickname. Clive Davis mused, “You wait for a voice like that for a lifetime. A face like that. A smile like that. A presence like that for a lifetime. And when one person embodies it all — well, it takes my breath away.” Bodyguard costar Kevin Costner fought back tears as he said, “Go sing for your heavenly father, Whitney.” Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, the Winans family and R. Kelly were among those who gave Houston a musical send-off. Stevie Wonder personalized the lyrics of his classic “Ribbon In The Sky” to “There’s an angel in the choir of love” for Whitney while R. Kelly performed a moving rendition of “I Look to You”, a song he penned that Whitney featured on her 2009 album of the same name. The proceedings ended in a fitting manner with Whitney’s most famous song, “I Will Always Love You,” playing as her casket was somberly walked out of the church. Her promising film career included roles like 1992’s The Bodyguard and 1995’s Waiting to Exhale and her rendition of “I Will Always Love You” from the former film stands as one of the most recognized and beloved songs in pop history. Houston’s artistic influence is indelible still on subsequent generations from Mariah Carey to Christina Aguilera and Jennifer Hudson. Whitney Houston’s close friend and The Bodyguard co-star Kevin Costner delivered a touching speech at her funeral yesterday in Newark, New Jersey. He recalled to mourners gathered at the church and fans watching online that Houston, despite her fame, was a humble woman who doubted herself. “The greatest pop star in the world didn’t think she was good enough,” Costner, 57, said of Houston, who died of a possible overdose last week at 48. “There were a thousand things that seemed to her to be wrong.” Kevin Costner Euolgy For Whitney Houston Kevin said there were many men who could’ve played his part in their iconic 1992 film, after which he remained close to Houston, but there was only one Whitney. When she was screen-testing for the role, which was put in production a year later than slated because she was on tour, Whitney Houston asked herself: “Am I good enough? Am I pretty enough? Will they like me?” As those attending the funeral laughed, Costner recalled how she almost sabotaged herself re-touching her own makeup, which melted under the studio lighting. “I wanted to tell her that the game was rigged, that I didn’t care how the test went, that she could fall down and start speaking tongues,” he said. “That no matter what she did, I’d find a way to explain it as an extraordinary acting choice. And gee, weren’t we lucky to have her?” Indeed. R.I.P.

After days spent arguing with Whitney Houston’s family over whether or not he’d attend his ex-wife funeral, multiple sources confirm that Bobby Brown continued arguing with his former in-laws today. And actually left the memorial after just 20 minutes as a result. Both E! News and TMZ report that Brown brought an entourage of nine people in to the Newark church. It’s unclear exactly what happened from there, but the singer was spotted exiting the house of worship shortly after the service began. “I am at Whitney’s funeral. I spoke with Bobby Brown trying to calm him down and not distract from the services. Today is about Whitney!” Al Sharpton Tweeted, while Access Hollywood ‘s Shaun Robinson says a “seating arrangement” dispute was at play. Brown also has a concert gig tonight in Connecticut with New Edition, but it’s believed this disagreement with Whitney’s family is the reason why he left the premises so quickly. UPDATE: Brown has released the following statement: “My children and I were invited to the funeral of my ex-wife Whitney Houston. We were seated by security and then subsequently asked to move on three separate occasions. I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continue to ask us and no one else to move. Security then prevented me from attempting to see my daughter Bobbi-Kristina. “In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene. My children are completely distraught over the events. This was a day to honor Whitney. I doubt Whitney would have wanted this to occur. I will continue to pay my respects to my ex-wife the best way I know how.” [Photo: WENN.com]
