Lady Gaga Goes Country: "Born This Way" With a Twist and a Twang!

Lady Gaga. Born This Way. Country edition? Believe it. The pop star’s hit single may or may not be stolen from various other acts, but this version is all her – and unlike you’ve ever heard her before. The Mother Monster dropped the tune at midnight this morning. More laid-back and mellow than the original, it also features some new lyrics at the end. Listen to Gaga go country, with her usual disco-thumping beats replaced by laconic guitars, beautiful harmonica and seriously soulful crooning, below … Lady Gaga – Born This Way (The Country Road Version)

Lindsay Lohan to Dump Surname, Go By Just Lindsay

Diddy. Madonna. Cher. Prince. Oprah. Beyonce. Lindsay Lohan either fancies herself on par with these celebrities, or really hates her dad, or a combination of both, because she’s gonna ditch the “Lohan.” “Lindsay is dropping the Lohan and just going by Lindsay,” her mom Dina Lohan tells PopEater , and that’s not all. “Plus, me and [younger daughter] Ali will be officially changing our last names back to my maiden name, Sullivan.” NO, LOHAN, JUST LINDSAY : Felon would also work … Lindsay had been thinking about dropping her surname for some time, Dina says, but at first thought that no one would recognize who “Lindsay” was. It was only after the infamous Super Bowl E-trade ad referring to a baby as “that milkaholic Lindsay,” that the actress knew she no longer needed it. Ironically, she bitched, moaned and even sued over that, but whatever. “So many of the top people in showbiz are known by one name. Look at Oprah and Beyonce. Now you can add Lindsay to that list,” a family friend said. More importantly, “It’s a way for them all to just start over. No one in the family want anything to do with Lindsay’s father [Michael Lohan] anymore.” MiLo has not yet commented, but he’s got a lot on his plate. Like felony domestic violence charges. Dropping the Lohan might not be so bad, Linds …

Bobbi Kristina Sex Tape Being Shopped Around?

Read the original:

It’s not a good week to be the spawn of Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston. After pictures of Bobby and Whitney’s daughter Bobbi Kristina allegedly doing lines of cocaine were leaked to the National Enquirer by her ex-boyfriend, the rumor mill is buzzing that her ex is now shopping a sex tape featuring Bobbi Kristina. The tape, which Bossip says is reportedly “very explicit,” probably won’t get picked up by any porn studios, in our opinion. Why? Because Bobbi Kristina just turned 18 recently. Any video of her engaged in sexual activity would be considered child porn and would be very illegal. Lady Gaga Gives Whitney Houston Grammy Awards Shout-Out

‘When I wrote ‘Born This Way,’ I imagined she was singing it,’ Gaga said accepting award for Best Pop Vocal Album. By Jocelyn Vena Lady Gaga accepts the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album Photo: Kevin Winter/Getty Images After hatching from her egg and being “Born” onstage, Lady Gaga won the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album for The Fame Monster. Gaga beat out Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Susan Boyle and John Mayer for the big prize. Taking the stage in a high ponytail, dominatrix-style leather bustier, knee-high boots and sunglasses, Gaga took the trophy from Selena Gomez and her onetime tourmate, New Kid on the Block Donnie Wahlberg. “Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart to all my fans, all the monsters, watching,” she said, clutching her prize. “Thank you to my father, my mother, my beautiful sister, Natalie, I love you.” After thanking family and friends, as well as her managers and record label team, the singer shared a personal message. “I had this dream when I was really young that I could be whoever I wanted to be … and no matter what I envisioned for myself, that I would do it, no matter who didn’t believe in me,” she said. “Thank you so much.” Although most of Gaga’s acceptance speech was devoted to the people you would imagine, she also had a thank-you for one unexpected person. “I need to say thank you tonight to Whitney Houston. I wanted to thank Whitney because when I wrote ‘Born This Way,’ I imagined she was singing it because I wasn’t secure enough in myself to imagine I was a superstar. So Whitney, I imagined you were singing ‘Born This Way’ when I wrote it. Thank you.” Moments before winning the Best Pop Vocal Album Grammy, Gaga performed “Born This Way,” the first single off of her May album of the same name. The pop star also took home the prize for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for “Bad Romance” earlier on Sunday night (February 13). Seth MacFarlane to Head David Hasselhoff Roast

Comedy Central has just named Family Guy creator and talking teddy bear wizard Seth MacFarlane the master of the network’s David Hasselhoff Roast, airing August 15. Regular roasters Pamela Anderson, Whitney Cummings, Greg Giraldo, Lisa Lampanelli, and Jeffrey Ross will poke fun at The Hoff, as will Jerry Springer and, for some reason, Hulk Hogan. [ LAT ]

‘The City’ Season Finale: Whitney Faces A Tough Decision

Olivia makes a splash in Tokyo as season two comes to a close. By Amy Wilkinson Whitney Port in “The City” on Tuesday No-nonsense People’s Revolution founder Kelly Cutrone has been one of Whitney’s strongest allies in the fight to make her fashion line, Whitney Eve, a success. But during Tuesday night’s season finale of “The City,” Whitney had to decide whether she would remain loyal to Kelly or be lured away by a peppy, pink-wearing PR practitioner. Even though Kelly doesn’t actually work for Whitney, the young designer didn’t want to offend or blindside her mentor by accepting help from another agency, so she had a chat with Kelly to discuss her wooer, Alison Brod. “She does mostly beauty, right?” Kelly sniffed. “And she wears pink all the time.” Fashion choices aside, Kelly didn’t think the timing was right for Whitney to hire a full-time PR rep. “I think it’s early for you to do this,” Kelly advised. “You’re still at a place where you’re in very low production numbers. … I want the best for you.” Rather ironically, Kelly had these parting words for Whitney: “Watch out. Every fifth word from PR people should be scrutinized.” Meanwhile, with Olivia on assignment in Tokyo, Louise Roe stepped in to film Web videos of Elle ‘s 25th anniversary photo shoot. And while Keith, the editorial director for Elle.com, liked Louise’s style, he wasn’t quite sure she was the perfect fit to be the new face of Elle.com. “I think Louise is really good, but she is kind of announcing,” he observed. “I think it’s good for this, but we don’t need that treatment for everything. I just wonder, is Olivia more like the Elle girl? Olivia was certainly putting her best foot forward in Japan at the Tibi launch party. She gamely fielded questions at a Q&A session with a poise and eloquence we rarely see in her dealings at Elle (especially with Erin). Yet, Erin and Robbie’s assistant Seth didn’t think anyone back in the States had high hopes for Olivia’s Japan visit. “I mean, Olivia in Japan seems a little bit lost in translation,” Seth joked. “Olivia in America is lost in translation,” Erin replied with a laugh. Whitney decided to meet with Alison Brod in her pink office to discuss the possibility of working together. After scolding Whitney for not wearing one of her own designs to the meeting, Alison said that if she represented Whitney Eve, Whitney would have to swear in blood that she’d do everything she could to support the line. Though Whitney said she’d think about it, Alison began spreading the news that Whitney had dumped People’s Revolution, riling the already perturbed Kelly. “I don’t need to defend my agency against a girl who wears pink,” Kelly chided before kicking Whitney out of her office. Joe had some big news for the Elle staff upon Olivia’s return. Largely due to her spectacular success in Tokyo, Olivia was made the new face of Elle.com (garnering a hard-to-miss eye roll from Erin). But what’s to become of Louise? Don’t worry about her; she’s already got a hosting gig lined up in L.A. But will Erin remain at Elle, knowing she has to work even more closely with Olivia? Still undecided about her PR representation, Whitney asked embattled friend Roxy to meet her for a chit-chat, their first in quite a while. Roxy reminded Whitney that her loyalty was to Kelly, but Whitney didn’t seem entirely convinced. “I’ve been struggling with it,” she said. “I’ve been making a list of pros and cons. I don’t know what to do.” It looks like we’ll have to wait for the next season of “The City” to find out what she decides. What did you think of the season finale of “The City”? The City Recap: Stage Fright, Dimming Lights

Always treading dangerously, has Whitney Port and Roxy Olin’s professional relationship finally hit the skids – and is Olivia Palermo halfway competent? These unexpected developments made for an interesting episode of The City as our girls wrestled with increasingly high stakes in their career pursuits. Here’s THG’s plus-minus recap … Joe asks Olivia to interview Prabul Gurung for the Martha Stewart segment they’re doing. Olivia says she knows what she is doing. Doubtful. Minus 2 . Kelly’s friend Jian is launching Canadian musician Lights but they’ve just been robbed and needs looks for her tour. Whitney Eve to the rescue! Plus 4 . The only problem? Asking Roxy to oversee this. Whitney suggests they go through the lookbook together, but Roxy Olin says she’s got it solo. Minus 3 . CITY LIGHTS : Whitney’s hopes dimmed a little, while Olivia shined . At Prabul’s showroom, Olivia suggests a look Joe and Prabul love. Prabul pulls out a white dress and suggests Olivia wear it on the red carpet. Plus 5 . Roxy tries to get Lights interested in Whitney’s clothes, but she’s hesitant. Roxy does get her to take a Whitney Eve jacket to wear on stage. Plus 4 . At the show, Whitney’s joy becomes horror when Lights walks on stage wearing the jacket, but instantly drops it in a sad heap on the floor. Minus 9 . Wearing Prabul, Olivia Palermo looks stunning in the dress, Joe says as he praises her in front of Rachel Roy and editor-in-chief Robbie. Wow. Plus 6 . Whitney Port is pissed, but Roxy says she can’t force Lights to wear things. Plus 5 , because Whitney rightfully says she got nothing out of the night. Roxy says she has no control over how someone wears clothes, and Whit questions why they work together. Minus 7 , because so have we for weeks. Port adds she’s “constantly disappointed,” prompting Roxy to say she can’t win and wants to move. “Then move out” says Whitney. Backbone! Plus 10 . At Elle , Joe lavishes praise on Olivia for her work “Total star… I’m so glad you can all pitch in and get things done.” Okay, that’s a little much. Minus 3 . Erin Kaplan thanks Joe for his kind words but ignores Olivia’s part in it. These girls are so passive-aggressively bitter, it’s fantastic. Plus 8 . TOTAL: +18. SEASON: -12 .

The City Recap: Olivia Palermo May Get Fired!

We often give the The City credit for its realism … at least compared to The Hills . Well, last night that was nowhere to be found, because it was Fashion Week. Again. Seriously, wasn’t it Fashion Week, like, two weeks ago? They make the world of fashion look as glamorous as the ease at which things seem to in Whitney Port’s lap. Elsewhere, there were some surprises (Roxy not screwing up all that badly and Kelly not hating her for a change) and more of the same (Olivia screwing up badly). Here’s THG’s plus-minus recap of last night’s The City … Whitney and Roxy decide to check out a few fashion shows. Kelly advises them to leave if they’re past the third row, because that means they suck basically. Plus 7 . Oh, what was Roxy wearing when she approached Whitney at the beginning? Lingerie? We thought this must have been at home, but no, just People’s Rev! Minus 3 . When you’re Whitney Port, career opportunities come easy! Whitney scores a meeting with Maybeline, where she shows them pictures of her fall collection. They ask if she’d show at Miami Fashion Week. It’s hat easy! Wash! At an Elle meeting, Olivia Palermo promises to land a Marc Jacobs interview at Fashion Week. Erin Kaplan blatantly announces she’s looking for a new hire. Plus 10 . Unable to score an interview because she sucks, Olivia says Marc isn’t doing press (lie #1) and that Joe will be fine with it (lie #2). She’s gotta get fired. Minus 11 . Furthermore, how does Elle need freaking Olivia Palermo to get an interview? Aren’t they Elle? And why send her of all employees? Come on . Obligatory Minus 17 . Louise Roe, displaying such polished outward perfection, threatens to send The City into complete upheaval. She’s a Star Wars -like disturbance in the Force. Plus 9 . When you’re Olivia Palermo, it’s next to impossible to get fired. Oh, and she dated Freddie Fackelmayer of all people. Yes, the same Freddie Fackelmayer from Season 1 (there can be only one) who Whitney fake-dated. Minus 5 . For whatever reason, Whitney says she dated Freddie too, yet leaves out any of the shady stuff he did. Is she bragging? If so, there is no apparent reason. Minus 3 . Amazingly, Louise actually acts like she cares about the job she has, one that scores of enterprising young women would surely want. Olivia? You watching? Plus 7 . When Robbie suggested she was going to fire Olivia at the end of the episode, we sort of believed him, and sort of felt bad for her. Sort of. Not really. At all. Plus 9 . TOTAL: +1 . SEASON: -63 . We have mixed feelings about the end of Olivia. She really deserves to get canned, yet Louise isn’t that appealing as a fill-in. Oh well.
