Mariah Carey’s Pregnant Magazine Cover Is ‘Beautiful,’ Nick Cannon Says

‘She’s such a trouper to be carrying two human beings in her body,’ Cannon tells MTV News of his wife. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Kelly Marino Nick Cannon Photo: MTV News Mariah Carey had heads turning at the newsstand when she debuted her bare baby bump on this week’s cover of Life & Style. And while it may have left some blushing, her hubby Nick Cannon told MTV News he loves it. “I think the cover is beautiful,” he said. “The way that happened — we weren’t planning to put that out. It was an idea [where I said], ‘You look beautiful. Let’s take pictures.’ It turned out to be so beautiful; we were like, ‘The world has to see this.’ I actually took some naked pictures too with her — hopefully those won’t be on no magazine covers anytime soon.” So will Dad be following suit with his own scantily clad magazine cover? “I don’t know if I want my kids to see my ass out, but they are classy,” he laughed. “I like the ones of my wife more than the ones of me.” With Carey on the brink of labor at any moment, Cannon is just waiting for the call. The couple are completely ready to be parents — they have the twins’ names picked out and everything. “She’s doing amazingly right now,” he gushed. “She’s such a trouper to be carrying two human beings in her body and for her to have such high spirits and to be so understanding. … It’s just wonderful just to see her in all her aura and beauty, glow. I got a couple of phones on me.” “We thought of a few names, ironically, when we first met,” he recalled. “On our first date [I was planning out our life], and she was into it, and we still play around with those names, but now that it’s real … when the babies come out, we’ll see if they keep the names we made up on our first date.” What did you think of Mariah’s magazine cover? ‘Dancing With The Stars’: Hines Ward, Petra Nemcova Score With Personal Songs

Wendy Williams’ foxtrot is the lowest-rated of the night. By Kelley L. Carter Kym Johnson and Hines Ward Photo: ABC Monday night’s “Dancing With the Stars” was an emotional event. The celebrities were told to choose a song that told a story about themselves. Some songs talked about their career challenges, some called up memories of now-deceased parents and others were about relationships and the challenges that go along with romance in the pubic eye. At the top of the judges’ list were football star Hines Ward and supermodel Petra Nemcova, who both grabbed scores of 25 out of 30. Talk-show host Wendy Williams earned the lowest score of 15. Here’s how the dancers fared this week: Wendy Williams and her partner, Tony Dovolani, told the story of Williams’ dreams of having a radio career. She performed the foxtrot to “Last Night a DJ Saved My Life,” and the judges thought she lacked fluidity. Judge Len Goodman said she worked extremely hard, but it wasn’t great. “It was suited to radio,” he told her. Bruno Tonioli told her “at times it looked like you put down roots.” Carrie Ann Inaba worried that Williams took a step backwards from her performance last week. Score: 15/30. Disney star Chelsea Kane and partner Mark Ballas danced to “Chelsea,” which was written for her by her first love. Her cha-cha was a big hit with the judges, who thought her performance was sexy and energetic. “Chelsea! Chelsea! Sexy! Sexy!” Tonioli said. Goodman joked, “I remember my first love, and she didn’t look anything like you!” Score: 23/30. Wrestler Chris Jericho and Cheryl Burke performed an emotional rumba to “Let It Be,” the same song that Jericho played at his mother’s funeral. The judges loved the powerful dance, an Inaba was in tears by the end. Score: 21/30. Model and reality star Kendra Wilkinson told her partner, Louis Van Amstel, that she wanted to dance to a song by Musiq Soulchild, which reminded her of the beginning of her relationship with her husband, Hank. She talked about “haters” who didn’t care for her dating her husband because of her background as a Playboy model and the former girlfriend of Hugh Hefner. They called her a “stripper,” she said. “There is nothing wrong with a good stripper!” exclaimed Tonioli. Score: 23/30. Rapper and actor Romeo and his partner, Chelsie Hightower, danced to “I’ll Be There,” which was in memory of two of his cousins who died at a young age. They danced the rumba, and the judges thought that his footwork needed a bit of work. 20/30. Football star Ward danced to Earth, Wind and Fire’s “Fantasy,” a tribute to his single mom, and judges were in love with his performance. “My whole life experience has been great. I’m very blessed. This is a tribute to her. It’s a celebration. We’re going to the moon, Ma! We’re on ‘Dancing With the Stars’!” he said to his mother, who was in the audience. Score: 25/30. Supermodel Petra Nemcova danced to “You Raise Me Up,” a song she said she listened to after she revisited the area destroyed by the tsunami in Thailand that she was in. The song, she shared, gave her the encouragement to start a foundation to benefit those affected by the tragedy. She and her partner, Dmitry Chaplin, danced the waltz, and the judges called her performance elegant. Score: 25/30. Boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard picked a fun song, “My Prerogative.” He and partner Anna Trebunskaya did the paso doble, and the judges said he needed to work on his lines a bit more. Score: 20/30. Actress Kirstie Alley and her partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, danced the rumba to “Over the Rainbow,” a song that Alley said embodies “the hopefulness after the despair” she felt in 1980 when in 72 hours she lost her mother, almost lost her father and got her first film role. The judges said she made an improvement. Score: 21/30. Actor Ralph Macchio danced to “Stay Gold,” from his movie “The Outsiders,” which he said also was his wedding song from 24 years ago. He and partner Karina Smirnoff danced the rumba, and Macchio closed the dance by running over to his wife and kissing her. Inaba said he needed to work on his core strength. Score: 21/30. 3 Lies About Premarital Sex [Opinion]

Read the original:

Vice and sin are sexy. Character and virtue… not so much. Last week there was an article about sex on the first date: SURVEY: Sex On The First Date; Do You? It started me to thinking and reading all the comments. Have we just given in  to what society has been selling us for the last 40 years. Sorry to say the Sexual Revolution came in and left us with one big mess.  It has let those of us with virtue be scorned. Character  is being erased. But where’s the line between them? What exactly is a virtue? Can it be taught? Are good, and bad, behavior hard-wired in us? Do we naturally need to experiment with every whim that crosses our fancy in order to determine who we are? You see less and less character as  you watch grown women throw themselves away on National television.  It’s become my new crusade to blow the lid off these half truths.   I am no prude but we need to stop selling the lies. They are destroying our communities.  It begins by stopping these three lies  first. Lie #1- The Scriptures on sexual purity are outdated and archaic . “Those parts of the Bible aren’t relevant to today. Those things were when  the people during that time got married when they were teens; so they didn’t have to struggle with sexual temptation like we do now.” 1 Corinthians 6:9, 2 Corinthians 12:21, Galatians 5:19, Hebrews 13:4 and Deuteronomy 22:13-28, all which condemn sex before marriage,  If sex before marriage is okay because people supposedly can’t control themselves, then it must be okay to engage in pornography, too, right?. If scriptures in the Bible became untrue because people can’t control their desires, then we’d also have to cut out the commandments on stealing, lying, cheating and having affairs. Lie # 2- Sex produces intimacy that you need to build a relationship. Dr. Patricia Love, the author of The Truth About Love, writes that a feeling of intimacy is created by a “chemical cocktail” that is produced in the brain during sex and stays with each person for up to 24 hours after intercourse. On the flip side, having sex is no guarantee that the deep emotional intimacy that everyone longs for will develop. “Genital sex is an expression of intimacy, not the means to intimacy. True intimacy springs from verbal and emotional communion. True intimacy is built on a commitment to honesty, love and freedom. True intimacy is not primarily a sexual encounter. Intimacy, in fact, has almost nothing to do with our sex organs. A prostitute may expose her body, but her relationships are hardly intimate.” Lie # 3 – Sex can help you determine compatibility? Many people feel it is unreasonable to expect him to abstain from sex before marriage because no one would buy a car without test driving it; so he couldn’t imagine committing to marriage without taking a “sex test drive.” The  “test drive” mentality could lead you to unreal expectations and the lack of commitment. Many say that is untrue. However, the logic is faulty. Here’s why: If it was true that  a person wouldn’t struggle with comparison, why would you need to “test drive” anything? After all, if you didn’t ever have multiple partners, you would automatically think his wife the best. For example, the man who hasn’t ever seen or driven more than one car doesn’t know what other cars are like; therefore he would be satisfied with his automobile. Partners can also feel threatened if they think their mate could be comparing them with previous partners. The reality is that we live in a dangerous damaged world. Each day we are fed more and more lies that allow us to lower are standards. How far are you willing to lower yours to feel like everyone else? It is time we rethought all the things we have been sold as truth. Why must any more of us suffer from “is she better, or is she great disease”? But it can be hard to truly gauge the potential depth of a sexual connection when there’s uncertainty or pressure involved. Fact is, sex is the place where all the separate parts of us – our bodies and souls, our vulnerabilities and most secret desires, our ability to create physical and spiritual life – come together. And it’s within the freedom of a commitment that these things can best be acknowledged, explored, and given space to run wild. Otherwise we are just falling short of what we could have. SMH: Battered Wife Acquitted Of Murking Coked-Up Hubby Says His Friends Yell “Murderer” At Her

Poor thang! This mother of two was forced to fend off her yayo snortin’ hubby with a knife and beat the charges after he ended up dead. Donna Cobb’s four-year roller coaster began when she was awoken by her coke-and booze-addled husband and ended with a jury deeming her an innocent battered woman nearly six months ago. Now Cobb has returned to work as a nurse’s aide at Harlem Hospital and continues to live in the same nearby apartment where she stabbed Kevin Cobb to death in November 2006. “I’m taking it one day at a time,” she told the Daily News in a recent interview. “I still think about it a lot, you know. I don’t think I’ll ever fully get over what happened.” Instead of criticizing and scorning her, she says, the neighbors and co-workers who watched her saga unfold have mostly rallied around her – but not everyone. “I have had some negativity from Kevin’s friends, saying ‘Murderer!’ whenever they saw me,” the 42-year-old mother of six said. “They pretty much didn’t know what was going on, and I didn’t feel the need to explain anything to them.” In her 10 years with Kevin Cobb, with whom she had 12-year-old twin girls, he continually abused and threatened her, spitting on her and stealing her money, she said. On the night of the killing, the couple threw a party in their apartment. Kevin, who was unemployed, spent the evening guzzling a bottle of tequila and snorting cocaine . When a fight broke out, the couple kicked everyone out, but Kevin began muttering threats and accusing his wife of cheating, she said. She went into her daughter’s room to sleep but said she was awoken by Kevin punching her in the face, pulling her out of bed by her hair and kicking her. “I tried to fight him off,” she said. “I … ran into the living room. He came right behind me, punched me in my back. I fell. He started stomping me.” Cobb grabbed an elephant statue off the floor – one of many elephant-themed objects that decorate her home – and struck him over the head with it, temporarily stunning him. She ran into the bedroom, but Kevin gave chase, grabbed her and began choking her. “I was feeling for anything,” Cobb said. “I felt the knife, and I just poked him with it.” “I didn’t want him to die,” she added. “My kids have to be without a father, and it’s painful.” Her lawyer, Earl Ward, said he was pleased his client was acquitted but questioned why Cobb – a churchgoing woman and the family’s sole breadwinner – was prosecuted in the first place. “This is a woman who had no record, who goes to church every Sunday, and Fridays, too,” he said. “The idea that she was looking at a life sentence was extremely, extremely troubling. She was a classic battered woman.” Cobb said she and Kevin met in Harlem and had a true connection when they began dating in 1996. “In the beginning, Kevin was really sweet,” she said. “Kevin was very attentive to the children. He was a helpful, really charming, bubbly kind of person.” Things began to change in 1997 after Kevin moved in and started slapping her. Also around that time, Cobb realized Kevin had a drug problem after finding cocaine in his pockets. “He promised me that [he’d get help] a lot,” Cobb said. “I found a program for him to go to. … He wouldn’t show up.” Cobb said she is now focused on her grandchild and moving her family out of the apartment where the murder occurred. She said she still is coming to terms with Kevin’s death. “Throughout all the years of the abuse I experienced … I don’t think that’s something I’ll ever fully recover from,” she said. By no means are we making light of domestic violence. But when toxic people choose to stay in their toxic situations, the outcome is usually pretty predictable. According to TMZ , Sara from Making The Band and her hubby went at it again over the weekend. Except this time, he’s the one who ended up in cuffs. Sara Stokes from “Making the Band 2″ was allegedly choked and beaten by her husband Tony, who was thrown in jail after the dispute … TMZ has learned. Sources close to Sara tell us, it all went down last weekend at a friend’s house in Georgia — Tony Stokes accused Sara of being with another man … and then allegedly choked and hit her. According to law enforcement, Tony was arrested for simple battery — and released the next day on $2,000 bail. Tony’s taking it all in stride … telling us, “Everybody speculates and blows things out of proportion. It’s a crazy kind of life. We’re dysfunctional. We need our own TV show. I love my wife.” This isn’t the couple’s first alleged domestic incident — back in 2009, Sara was accused of stabbing Tony after an argument went nuclear. “We’re dysfunctional?” We’re gonna need someone in this situation to love themselves enough to walk away. Will Ferrell Tries Not to Be Funny in the Everything Must Go Trailer

Casting Will Ferrell in a dark adaptation of a Raymond Carver story sounded like a pretty intriguing idea when the synopsis for Everything Must Go first surfaced before its premiere at the Toronto Film Festival. In it, he plays an alcoholic who loses his job, only to come home and find that his wife has locked him out and scattered all of his possessions on the lawn. So begins Ferrell’s three-day yard sale, where everything must… never mind. But wait, why does an adaptation of a Carver story look so uplifting?
