The Associated Press reports that Yeezy linked up with President Yoweri Museveni on Monday (Oct. 15) and that they had a “fruitful discussions” about “promoting tourism and arts.” West gifted Museveni a pair of white adidas Yeezy sneakers. Reportedly, West and his wife, Kim Kardashian, have set up shop in a national park while he is recording music in a tent. Interestingly, the AP reports that some residents aren’t too thrilled about Yeezy’s presence while others have pointed out that Uganda’s President banned motorcycle riders from wearing hoodies to prevent crime. West wore a hoodie during his visit. I welcome American entertainment stars Kanye West and @KimKardashian to Uganda. Hollywood history is filled with whirlwind romances that were followed by abrupt, mysterious breakups. But you’d be hard-pressed to find a situation more bizarre or enigmatic than the divorce of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes . After winning the hearts of millions during their honeymoon period, Holmes and Cruise called it quits after just six years of marriage. And despite the fact that they seem to have had virtually no contact with one another in the years since their 2012 divorce, the contentious nature of their split continues to make both actors tabloid staples. Sources close to the situation say Cruise has not seen daughter Suri in four years. This, despite the fact that he’s been in the same city as the 12-year-old on numerous occasions. But while he seems to have little interest in being a father to his daughter, Cruise continues to closely monitor the actions of both Suri and her long-suffering mother. According to a new report from Life & Style, Holmes believes the Church of Scientology has been spying on her for years in order to ensure that she doesn’t engage in any activities that might undermine the organization and its reputation. “Tom does still have control over Katie,” a source tells the tabloid, adding that Holmes still needs to consider whether Cruise would approve before making any major decisions. “She paid a price to escape him.” The insider adds that Katie has no doubt she’s being continuously monitored by CoS operatives: “Katie wondered if she was even being spied on by church employees in her own home,” the source claims. While the allegations that Holmes is under surveillance remain unconfirmed, there’s no question that she’s been constrained by the terms of a very strict nondisclosure agreement. “She could lose custody of Suri [Cruise]. It’s quite sick, really,” says former Scientologist and anti-cult activist Leah Remini. “She’s been muzzled about saying much about Tom or Scientology as part of the agreement she signed after she filed for divorce,” the anonymous insider says of Holmes’ situation. “And those agreements don’t have an end date. It doesn’t look like there will ever be a time that his specter isn’t looming over her and Suri.” Fortunately, Katie isn’t entirely alone in her struggle against Tom and the powerful organization for whom he serves as a global spokesman: The informant says Cruise’s second wife Nicole Kidman has reached out to Holmes and offered support: “Katie and Nicole have spoken about raising their daughters to be independent and giving them a solid education, which is the opposite of Scientology teachings,” the insider claims. “Just living their lives is their way of moving on from the Church of Scientology.” Sadly, it seems that like their mothers, Cruise’s children will never be fully free of the CoS and its pernicious influence. In August, Deven Davis, wife of Korn frontman Jonathan Davis, was found dead . This was a tragedy for her family and for her loved ones. Now, her heartbreaking cause of death has been revealed. On August 18, Deven Davis passed away. She was only 39 years old. According to autopsy results obtained by TMZ , the cause of death was five different drugs in her system. The report says that Deven had cocaine, heroin, clonazepam, topiramate, and fluoxetine in her system. Cocaine and heroin are both illegal, and are very different drugs. The others are another matter. Clonazepam is a fairly tame benzodiazepine that can be used to treat anxiety. Topiramate has a few uses, one of the most common to reduce the frequency and intensity of migraine headaches. Flueoxetine is a fairly standard serotonin reuptake inhibitors. Most people know this medication as Prozac. The cause of death was ruled accidental. The medical examiner’s office believes that the lethal combination of drugs was an unintentional tragedy. Jonathan Davis spoke out on Instagram several days after her passing. “Over the last few days,” he wrote at the time. “There has been a lot of speculation over what really happened surrounding the death of my wife, Deven.” He continued: “and I want my voice to be heard.” “Over the past decade, my wife has been very very sick,” he revealed. He explained: “She had a serious mental illness and her addiction was a side effect.” “I loved her with ALL of my being,” Jonathan gushed. “When she was her true self, she was an amazing wife, amazing mother and amazing friend.” “She was full of life and joy, and she would do anything to share that with those around her,” he wrote. Jonathan admitted that he had “tried to hide what was going on.” He shared that he did this “in order to protect her.” “She is the reason I have advocated so hard for those struggling with their mental health,” he explained. “I want her story to inspire people to reach out for help,” Jonathan wrote. “And not to be afraid or hide from their illness.” “If you know someone with a mental illness,” he implored. “Have compassion and empathy, and know that they are not bad people, they are suffering.” Jonathan shared that, as a facet of her illness, the mother of two of his three sons never understood “how sick she really was.” “I’d give anything to have the chance to hold her again,” Jonathan confessed. “I’d give anything for my kids to have their mother back,” he wrote. Jonathan said: “I have comfort in knowing that now she has found freedom from her illness, and she is finally at peace.” “I swear one day I’ll be there with you by your side when my ride here on earth is over,” he concluded. “I love you, Luber.” That is devastating and must have been incredibly difficult to write, especially just days after her tragic passing.
