Source: Antonio Garcia / EyeEm / Getty On Monday, a hog farmer in Iowa was found guilty for the murder of his wife , who died in November 2018 after being impaled with a corn rake. According to reports from The Telegraph Herald , a jury in Dubuque County convicted 43-year-old Todd Mullis of first-degree murder in the death of his wife Amy Mullis. The conviction carries a mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole. This conviction comes almost a year after Amy was found on the couple’s farm with the tool lodged in her back. Police said back in March that Amy’s death came not long after Todd learned that she had multiple affairs behind his back. She had apparently warned people beforehand that if her husband caught ever her cheating, “he might make me disappear.” She also was said to have told a friend that if she ever vanished, “you’ll know Todd did something to me.” Well, she was right. Email Submit Todd insisted to authorities that his wife simply fell on the sharp tool while by herself, but medical examiners found six puncture wounds and noted the rake was four-pronged. During the trial, Dr. Kelly Kruse–the forensic pathologist who performed the autopsy on Amy’s body–testified Amy’s cause of death was sharp-force injuries of the torso, saying that Amy was impaled at least twice and possibly three times by the corn rake. Back in March, it was reported that Todd called 911 the day his wife died. He told police that he removed the rake and started driving his wife to the hospital, which is when they were met by an ambulance who rushed Amy to the emergency room. Amy and Todd were married in 2004, and had three children together. Police learned during their investigation that the couple’s marital problems began in 2013, when Todd caught Amy cheating. That second lover, Jerry Frasher, testified in trial, and told police that Amy had said she wanted to leave her husband but was “scared to death” of him. Defense attorney Gerald Feuerhelm told The Telegraph Herald Todd would appeal the court’s ruling. Jon Gosselin has once again attacked his ex-wife for being a terrible mother. On its own, such an attack would scarcely be news; Jon has been doing this for about a decade. But the details of this verbal assault are different from his many past ones, most notably because they appear to be backed up by son Collin. The 15-year old was away from his family for many years due to what mother Kate Gosselin would simply refer to as “special needs.” Toward the very end of 2018, Jon took the teenager out of Fairmont Behavioral Health Institute and Collin has been living with his father ever since. For the very first time, meanwhile, we’re now learning about the details behind Collin’s estrangement from his family — and they are quite disturbing. “Dear Dad, I’m not trying to trick you, but I still love you,” Collin wrote in a June 2017 letter obtained by DailyMailTV this week. The letter continues as follows: “I told Mom I want to live with you, she said no. But right? She can’t choose for me. I’m old enough now, I’m YOUR son, not hers. “She was abusive to me after I left your house. I’m sorry. Take this to court because … you’re my dad, my savior.” The message does not explain exactly how Kate was allegedly abusive toward Collin. But the letter was reportedly leaked by Collin’s roommate, and it concluded: “Please help me and let me meet Colleen [Conrad, Jon’s girlfriend]. I’m counting on you to get me out of here. Daddy, I love you. save me. Please come FAST. I love you. Help me. BYE.” Jon himself then spoke to DailyMailTV and took maybe his harshest swipes ever at his ex-wife. Which is saying a ton, considering all the ways Jon has trashed Kate in the past. He said Collin had spent three years “caged” in the special needs institution despite only being diagnosed with ADHD, telling the outlet: “Kate … couldn’t deal with him. He was alone for three and a half years with no parents, all alone. It was inhumane.” After Jon received this troubling letter — written in crayon from his son — he “raised the money to get a lawyer and went through the courts to get joint legal custody” only to have Collin moved to another institution five hours away in Pittsburgh, he explains: “I’d drive out to Pittsburgh to visit him as much as I could and eventually it progressed to overnight stays before he was finally released into my custody.” Over the years, fans certainly noticed that Collin was not included in family photos with his siblings. Any time the subject was raised, Kate would not elaborate beyond the aforementioned description of Collin having “special needs,” saying this to People Magazine in 2016: [There’s] a fairly fluid diagnosis of what those needs are, but he needs to learn certain strategies to help him deal with things. This has been a struggle we’ve had for a very long time, and it’s one I’ve dealt with on my own. She and Jon divorced in 2009 after rising to fame on a TLC reality show that chronicled their lives as the parents of both twins and sextuplets. “It’s time America found out the truth about Kate, she isn’t the person you think she is,” Jon said of the reality star mom, who now has her own reality show titled Kate Plus Date. Jon won temporary custody of Collin in December 2018 after Kate no-showed a hearing to determine the future of her son. She has reportedly severed all ties from Collin , who lives with Jon these days in Pennsylvania. (His sister, Hannah, also lives with her dad, who remains very distant from his other six children.) “I know my children have suffered abuse and I know one day they’re going to tell their own story,’ Jon told DailyMail TV. “And sadly enough, I know what PTSD is. It’s really upsetting.” According to DHS documents seen by DailyMailTV, numerous allegations of suspected child abuse against Kate were investigated. However, the agency ultimately had determined the reports were unfounded due to a lack of evidence. “I think Kate has really poisoned my children’s minds against me,” Jon says of why never talks to three-quarters of his kids, adding: “She’s put stuff in their minds about my personality. I never cheated on my wife, I’m not a monster, I love my children more than anything… “I brought Collin home. He’s a great kid. I want the family unit together, I even want to co-parent.” As for why Jon is finally speaking out now? He signed a 10-year gag order as part of his divorce settlement — and those 10 years are now up. “There’s a lot of stuff I want to dispel, there’s a lot of untruths,” Jon concludes “I have watched my children suffer and I have not been able to say a word. Kate wanted the gag order because she didn’t want me speaking the truth. “I know everything. I lived it with her and without her. So I know every single thing that has transpired and what has been portrayed to the American public, it’s not all true.”
Little People, Big World star and social media mainstay Audrey Roloff has been through a great deal over the past few days. By her own candid admission. In a revealing and heart-shattering new Instagram post, the TLC reality personality explains why she’s been going through some hard times. Or some “pretty intense roses and thorns,” as she and husband Jeremy Roloff sometimes say on their podcast. The main reason why? She has lost a friend named Jarrid Wilson to suicide. “On Ember’s 2nd birthday we found out that our friend Jarrid took his own life,” wrote Audrey online, adding in awful detail: “It was shocking and absolutely heart-breaking news. I couldn’t breathe when I found out and sobbed for hours.” “Ember saw my tears, “Sad mama?” We sat on the couch together and she kept giving my pats on my shoulder and saying: “It’s ok mama, no more crying, happy mama?” “When I kept crying she would wipe away my tears and say, “blow mama, blow” and she would show me how to blow just like I do with her when she’s upset. Cue more tears.” Seriously, now we’re crying. Audrey, who is expecting a boy in January 2020 , continued in her post: “Jarrid and his wife Juli have been such faithful encouragers and good friends since before we were married.” The 28-year-old Roloff continued: “As we’ve been crying, processing, and praying, we’ve felt all the emotions that come with loss – anger, confusion, hurt, shock, etc.” A woman of strong faith, Audrey then turned her focus to religion and how she has tried to cope with this tragedy: “This past week I just keep thinking about @itsjuliwilson and her two boys and praying in desperation.” Anyone who has experienced anything similarly tragic can relate. “Praying that Lord would give those boys peace that surpasses understanding. That Juli would be flooded with prayer, love, encouraging truth, practical help, and compassion.” “That Jarrid’s life would be honored well.” “That people who struggle with anxiety, depression, and mental illness would not lose hope. And ultimately, that people who don’t struggle with mental illness would be compassionate.” At this point, much to our extreme admiration, Audrey wrote about the sort of troubles that inflict many people who take their own lives: Mental illnesss has a lot of stigma around it, unfortunately especially in the church. I think we can be better, especially in times of mourning, to be less critical and more compassionate. To be quicker to love than to judge. To be more like a two-year old comforting her mama. To be “compassionate and gracious, slow to anger; and abounding in love and faithfulness” (Psalm 86:15). And she concluded by first marveling over her daughter: While I was sitting on the couch with Ember mourning the loss of our friend, I realized how much more COMPASSIONATE my 2 year old is than most adults… And then by bidding her friend a sorrowful farewell: Sometimes people just need you to sit with them, wipe their tears, and blow. Taylor Swift is receiving heaps of praise for her new album, “Lover.” In a new interview with Rolling Stone, however, the artist makes one thing abudantly clear when it comes to perpetual enemy Kanye West: She will always be a fighter. Speaking about her feud with Kanye and Kim Kardashian for approximately the 179th time, delves into the details of her ever-changing relationship with the rapper. It goes back to the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards when Kanye interrupted Swift’s speech to assert on stage that Beyonce actually deserved to win Best Video that year. This is notable because Swift tells Rolling Stone that the dynamic between the artists from that point onward played an enormous role in what happened seven years later. Intriguing, right? We write, of course, about the recorded phone call released by Kardashian in 2016 in which Kanye and Taylor can be heard discussing the lyric “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex,” which West uttered in his controversial track “Famous.” In this phone call, the world hears Swift grant Kanye permission to use this line. But she has emphasized from the outset of this rivalry that she has no clue Kanye would also refer to her as a “bitch” in this same song — and that’s largely where the beef lies. “The world didn’t understand the context and the events that led up to it,” Swift told Rolling Stone of the phone call, adding: “Because nothing ever just happens like that without some lead-up. Some events took place to cause me to be pissed off when [West] called me a bitch.” Okay. Go on then Taylor… “That was not just a singular event,” she continued. “Basically, I got really sick of the dynamic between he and I. And that wasn’t just based on what happened on that phone call and with that song — it was kind of a chain reaction of things.” Such as? The way the two actually made up about the infamous MTV VMAs interruption. “I started to feel like we reconnected, which felt great for me – because all I ever wanted my whole career after that thing happened in 2009 was for him to respect me,” she said. “When someone doesn’t respect you so loudly and says you literally don’t deserve to be here – I just so badly wanted that respect from him, and I hate that about myself, that I was like, ‘This guy who’s antagonizing me, I just want his approval.’ “But that’s where I was.” Swift went on to say that she and Kanye would go to dinner together and say nice things to each other and everything. But she then elaborated on when she finally realized just how hypocritical West can be. The singer alleged that, ahead of the 2015 VMAs, West called her to ask her to present him with the Video Vanguard Award at the upcoming awards ceremony. “I was so stoked that he asked me that,” Swift said. “And so I wrote this speech up, and then we get to the VMAs and I make this speech and he screams, ‘MTV got Taylor Swift up here to present me this award for ratings!’” In other words, according to Swift: Kanye asked her for a favor, and then turned it around in public to make it appear as if he had nothing to do with this presentation. “I’m standing in the audience with my arm around his wife, and this chill ran through my body. I realized he is so two-faced,” Swift said pointedly, adding: “That he wants to be nice to me behind the scenes, but then he wants to look cool, get up in front of everyone and talk sh-t.” West reportedly sent Swift a “big, big thing of flowers” to apologize after this incident, and Swift tells Rolling Stone she decided to move past their differences once again due to this gesture. Fast forward to that aforementioned phone call about the song “Famous.” “So when he gets on the phone with me, and I was so touched that he would be respectful tell me about this one line in the song,” Swift explained. “And I was like, ‘Okay, good. We’re back on good terms.’ And then when I heard the song, I was like, ‘I’m done with this. If you want to be on bad terms, let’s be on bad terms, but just be real about it.'” For her part, Kardashian has said she’s over this Taylor feud . According to a most recent report, the rapper and husband of Cardi B is said to owe $210,000 on a 2017 tax bill. The Blast reports : According to documents obtained by The Blast, the Georgia Department of Revenue claims Offset (real name: Kiari Cephus) owes $210,228.91 in back taxes. A state tax lien was filed against Offset over the 2017 debt. The original amount owed on the bill was $146,845.83. The amount grew with interest ($15,645.42), penalties ($18,318.49) and collection costs ($29,369.17). The address listed on the lien goes back to one of the properties he bought with his wife, Cardi B. The lien warns Offset if the debt isn’t paid quickly, they will begin seizing his assets. The worst kept secret on television was confirmed as official news on ABC last night. It’s tragically true, Mike Johnson fans and supporters: Peter Weber will be the next The Bachelor. This long-awaited announcement was made on the Tuesday night season finale of Bachelor in Paradise. “It’s still hitting me right now, and I feel so grateful right now just to have this opportunity in front of me,” Weber told Chris Harrison at the end of the reunion special. He added: “I feel emotional right now. This is crazy. This is life-changing. I have truly, my entire life, looked forward to finding my girl, and that first person that I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with… “I have all the faith in the world that this can work for me, and I know it’s going to.” Weber, of course, advanced to the final three on Hannah Brown’s most recent season of The Bachelorette. He became well-known and very respected for having slept with the former beauty queen a show record four times while they stayed overnight in a windmill . He seems perfectly nice and harmless and, yes, white… so it’s no real surprise that executives chose Weber. Thanks to a bunch of recent The Bachelor spoilers , we all saw this confirmation coming weeks ago, too. Asked what he learned from his relationship with Brown, the pilot replied on air: “From night one with that first toast to the very end when I said goodbye to her, she was 100 percent unapologetically herself, and I love that. And that’s something that I definitely want to carry forward with my journey now.” Sounds like he’s gone to ABC Cliche School and graduated with honors, huh? Other frontrunners for the job were Brown’s former suitors Mike Johnson and Tyler Cameron, plus Bachelor in Paradise favorite Derek Peth. Shortly after Weber was announced, social media blew up with reaction to the news. Not much of it was positive… Johnson would have been the first-ever black lead on the show if he had been selected. He does appear to have moved on in amazing manner , but still. Come on, ABC! You had a real shot to make history here. Right, Rachel Lindsay? “I think Peter seems like a very nice guy. He seems lovely. This is absolutely nothing against him, but how many Peters have we seen before?” the only-ever black Bacheloerette told ET of the latest casting, adding: “What season are we on? 24. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. It wasn’t all that long ago that Derick Dillard and Jill Duggar were earning big bucks as contributing members of the Duggar media empire. But Derick’s big mouth and bigoted world views have left the Dillards in dire straits — and it seems the man of the house has resorted to desperate measures to keep the food on the table. Specifically, he’s now bringing food directly to other people’s tables thanks to his new gig as a delivery driver for Grubhub. Derick posted the photo below on Instagram, seemingly in an effort to address a widespread rumor that he’s fallen on hard times. “This is how I get date ideas! #food #letsdothis #studybreak How do you make extra cash?” he captioned the pic. “Would love to hear in the comments below #daveramsey #millenialsmakinmoney #daveramseybabysteps” To be clear, there’s absolutely no shame in delivering food, driving for Uber, or lining your pockets by any means necessary. But Derick’s situation is funny for a number of reasons that are very specific to his situation: 1. He and his wife previously enjoyed cushy, six-figure gigs starring on Counting On, but Derick got fired for bullying transgender teen Jazz Jennings. Shortly thereafter, Jill quit the show in a gesture of solidarity. Bad move. 2. The Duggars believe material wealth is a reflection of God’s favor. Jim Bob teaches his kids that wealth is bestowed upon those who have pleased the Lord — by that logic, Der must have really pissed off the big man upstairs. Maybe it was all the bullying of at-risk teens. Who knows? Mysterious ways, and so forth … 3. Since Derick is in law school full-time — which is a rather time-consuming endeavor — the Dillards would benefit greatly from a second income. Unfortunately, the Duggar rules for life prohibit married women from working. And even if they didn’t, Derick would likely find watching the kids by himself for a few hours to be an excruciatingly emasculating experience. This is the level of insecurity that drives grown men to bully teens on the internet. Anyway, we’re not the only ones having a little fun roasting Der’s new gig, as the dude is currently being dragged in his own comments section. “Or maybe your wife could work,” one fan helpfully pointed out. Many others noted that Derick doesn’t appear to be putting his accounting degree to good use: “Hard to comprehend why a certified accountant is delivering. Grub Hub drivers don’t make much,” stated one follower. Some noticed that Dillard didn’t snap his pic in the cleanliest room in the house: “I don’t think I’d feel comfortable ordering if I knew the bags had spent time in a bathroom,” a user wrote. “I’m sure Jill could have snapped this picture without causing a possible health code violation.” And many just asked the same simple question: Derick, if you had a job all this time, why didn’t you respond to all the critics who gave you flak for being unemployed? “I try not to respond to ‘haters’ who don’t know what they’re talking about,” Dillard replied. “I’ve had multiple jobs while in law school (most recently with the Arkansas Attorney General’s office), but I don’t believe people should post their whole life on social media and/or make assumptions based on a false belief that others post about their whole life.” From there, Derick launched into flat-out BS mode and tried to convince everyone that he’s really just a “private” person: “I personally don’t post about most stuff going on in life because much of it is private and I wouldn’t share it on social media, even if some might make patently false accusations.
