Fast Five to Take Testerone to New Level in IMAX

The long-awaited reunion of Paul Walker, Vin Diesel and a bunch of really fast cars is going to be even bigger than expected. Literally. IMAX corporation just announced that Universal will release the fifth installment to The Fast and the Furious series, Fast Five , in IMAX theaters across the nation. This one finds Walker and Diesel up against federal agents and a corrupt businessman in Rio de Janeiro. The only way to beat them? Racing. If IMAX theaters can just install some of those rumble seats that didn’t quite save Terminator Salvation , we’ll be in business. [ Coming Soon ]

Sony Tosses Tourist Into December, Stirs Up Oscar Race

All we have to go on is pedigree, but pedigree is enough: Sony today announced it will release its Angelina Jolie/Johnny Depp-starring, Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck-directed romantic thriller The Tourist on Dec. 10, throwing a sizable wrench into a frame already stuffed with awards-season hopefuls The Fighter and The Tempest . (And sandwiched squarely between Black Swan , Miral and How Do You Know .) No word yet on if or how the film might influence the fall festival circuit , but we’ll find out soon enough. Also added by Sony: Roland Emmerich’s Anonymous on March 25, 2011, and a big pushback for Underworld 4 from September 2011 to January 2012. Bad tidings, apologies, etc. [ Box Office Mojo ]

David Archuleta Debuts New Singles: What Do You Think?

While Kris Allen received many birthday wishes yesterday, Lee DeWyze recently signed a record deal and Adam Lambert continues to make headlines, let’s not forget about David Archuleta. That former American Idol finalist has carved out a nice career for himself, establishing a rabid fan base, releasing two albums and promoting a book titled “Chords of Strength: A Memoir of Soul, Song and the Power of Perseverance.” Archie performed in Idaho earlier this week and included two new singles in his set list: “Not a Very Good Liar” and “Parachutes and Airplanes.” It’s unclear when David will release a new CD, but expect these songs to be included on it. Examinees of the September 2009 Philippine Bar Exam are anxiously waiting for the release of the Philippines Bar Exam results 2010 by the Supreme Court. The office announced that they will release the official list of successful bar exam passers by March 19. You could go to this website to be directed to Supreme Court of the Philippines for announcement. This might be someone’s early Christmas or this might be an early Biernes Santo. The sexy singer will release a new album titled “Bionic.” It features singles co-written by Aguilera, along with collaborations between her Sia, Tricky Stewart, Polow Da Don, Le Tigre and many others. “Working on this album with so many talented artists and producers that I admire was really an amazing experience,” Christina said. “The artists I chose to work with added so many unique sonic layers to Bionic.
