Allison Iraheta in Latina Magazine: Life is Good!

Allison Iraheta has been off American Idol for almost a full year now, but the singer tells the latest issue of Latina magazine that life is better than ever. “I don’t have to step onto a stage and get judge every week. Now I get to do my own songs and talk to my fans,” she said. “There are all these girls writing my on Twitter… saying [they] love songs like ‘Scars’ because they can totally relate to what I’m singing about. Things are really good right now.” Iraheta will tour this summer with Adam Lambert, who has nothing but amazing things to say about his friend: “She’s so freaking talented… The first time I heard her album, I was in a car with the windows down and I was just dancing and rocking out to it. It’s going to take some time, but she’ll get there.” And where is that place? Allison hopes it’s a level of accomplishment where she’s recognized for being herself, not for having starred on the most popular show on TV. “I don’t want people to see me and immediately think, ‘Oh, that’s the girl with the red hair who was on American Idol . I want them to say, ‘That’s Allison Iraheta. She’s a great artist who makes real music and has something to say – and she rocks.”

Microsoft Kin: What for?

Okay I have to admit, I’m still stuck with a cheap phone that doesn’t do wifi, has a 2-inch screen and it reminds you of something that was launched year 2000. In my search for a new phone I guess the Microsoft Kin comes in to my mind. But what is the Microsoft Kin? How much is it? The Microsoft kin is actually two phones, Kin One and Two, which target a specific market of highly social people. They are supposed to be the ones that are for updating Facebook, Twitter and MySpace. With their QWERTY keyboard they can easily fulfill the needs of those who are still skeptical about the whole touch screen phones and those who still prefer the tactile touch. So along with the need to satisfy a social user, the Kin phones will need to have applications and so there comes along with it, an App store. I do hope that most of the applications will come in free. One thing that’s peculiar though is that Microsoft seemed to have kept the Windows 7 mobile OS and not added it in this phone. I think they have something bigger for later’s show. The interesting thing about this Kin phones is not actually the phone itself but rather the Kin Studio where all your media stuff get uploaded. Yep, Kin Studio makes it possible to have your pictures uploaded instantly and wirelessly to your kin studio. (don’t we just love instant?) So long as I don’t know how much these two Kins are gonna cost and how effective their features are, I’ll just wait till it actually settles in the market. Till then, we’ll see. Cypress Hill’s ‘Armada Latina’ Video Kicks Off The Summer-Jam Sweepstakes

B-Real and Sen Dog are back, and they’re clearly ready to party. By James Montgomery B-Real in Cypress Hill’s video for “Armada Latina” Photo: Priority Here in the Northeast, it’s been unseasonably warm this week, so it’s probably not too soon to start considering songs for the annual Summer-Jam Sweepstakes, the competition to see which tune will dominate the beaches and lakefront properties of this great nation of ours when the mercury rises and the shirts come off. And for the first entry, I present to you Cypress Hill’s “Armada Latina,” whose video premiered Thursday (April 8) on MTV. It probably wasn’t supposed to work out this way. After all, timing has never exactly been B-Real and Sen Dog’s greatest strength. Rise Up, the album from which “Armada” comes, has been in the works since 2005, and something like four singles have already been released off it, even though it doesn’t hit stores until April 20 (how fitting). But for once, the guys may have gotten it right, as “Armada” is the perfect song — and video — for summer (or spring, for that matter). It’s a bouncing, downright breezy thing, riding on a sample of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young’s “Judy Blue Eyes” and popping with Latin percussion and finger-picked guitars. It’s kind of like Kid Rock’s “All Summer Long,” only with congas and Cohibas instead of walleyes and whiskey. Make no mistake about it, this isn’t the Cypress Hill you knew and loved in 1993. Well, it is — the 4/20 release date is a dead giveaway that these dudes are still into herbal remedies — but unlike the smoky, claustrophobic hits of their past (“Insane in the Brain” and, to a lesser extent, “(Rock) Superstar”), “Armada” is bright, jovial, even celebratory … the kind of thing you want to listen to with the windows rolled down. Miami’s Pitbull shows up to contribute a lilting verse. Marc Anthony sings the hook (though he’s not in the video). B and Sen rap about Cuba Libres and games of dominoes. The video is one giant summery, Little Havana block party. Everyone looks like they’re having a blast. No one blows plumes of smoke at the camera. This is not, shall we say, the red-eyed and hazy Cypress Hill of the Clinton era. Just having a Cypress Hill video to write about is enough to make my inner 15-year-old happy, but things have changed for B and Sen. At least judging by “Armada Latina,” they’re in it to win it. And they’re ready to party. Sometimes you’ve gotta step outside of the smoke-filled room and dance a little. The Summer-Jam Sweepstakes begins now. What do you think of “Armada Latina”? Is there another song you think will be the summer jam of 2010? Share your thoughts below. Related Artists Cypress Hill

Apple iPad FAQs and Functions Answered

Today we are just posting some of the Frequently Asked Questions for the Apple iPad. This is basically an Apple Ipad Guide for owners who are experiencing some issues on the device and some questions with regards to after-service. Can I run Windows or Mac Applications on the iPad? A: The certainty for the answer to the question is whether Apple will create iPad Application versions of Mac Applications.  A notable feature though, the Apple iPad can indirectly run Windows and Mac Programs through its screen (more like a remote screen) but it can’t really run Mac or Window programs locally. Still a possibility to wait for. Can the Apple iPad do lots of multitasking? A: So far Apple has put a limit to the multitasking capabilities of the iPad, but the upcoming OS 4.0 can further confirm whether the iPad will gain greater multitasking capabilities. Can you be able to print from an iPad? A: Third party applications can allow you to. Unfortunately the iPad doesn’t have a built-in printing software inside it. How can I have my Apple iPad’s battery replaced? A:The battery isn’t replaceable but Apple will replace your iPad with a fresh battery for $107 which includes shipping. The process takes up to a week. One is certain to lose personal data unless the owner backs up regularly to restore everything on the replacement iPad. How do you get files into the iPad? It doesn’t have a USB port. A: The iPad has an Apple connector port similar with the iPhone and iPod Touch. Using iTunes on the PC or Mac, you can transfer and sync files (photos, MP3s, Phonebook, Applications etc.) to your iPad. Another option is to transfer files wirelessly through the web. Installation of Apple Pages is recommended if you’re transferring important word files for example. What if I don’t like to type with the virtual keyboard? Any other options? A: There are several options and Apple sells a $39 case for comfortable position of typing and watching video, a $69 Apple Accessory Physical Keyboard that includes a dock and the $69 Apple Wireless Keyboard that can also be used for the Mac. The Verdict: Microsoft Game Room

There are already a lot ways to play old games: Download MAME, blow the dust off your old systems, play Flash clones on the internet…and those are just the free ways. If you spend a couple bucks you can download tons of older games from the major consoles’ networks, or pick up an Atari 2600 on eBay for a song. Given the availability of retro titles, Microsoft Game Room has to do a lot to justify its existence. Thankfully, Game Room tries to do more than just provide another way for you to play hoary “classics.” Instead, it creates a unifying experience around older games by
