Talk-show host’s interview with Kardashians airs Sunday on ‘Oprah’s Next Chapter.’ By Jocelyn Vena Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries Photo: Oprah Winfrey’s highly anticipated sit-down with the Kardashians is set to air on OWN on Sunday, on “Oprah’s Next Chapter.” Now, leading up to the interview, fans are getting some sneak peeks at what the talk-show host got the first family of reality TV to dish about. “I think that’s so ridiculous,” Kim told Winfrey when asked if she ever feels exploited by her manager and mother, Kris Jenner. “First of all, we have to hire a manager. So regardless, someone is going to get that [job]. No one will fight harder for you than your own mother,” she said, according to E! News . “She knows us. She knows all of our moods. … We just get each other. We vibe. It works.” In true Oprah fashion, Winfrey asked all the hard questions, including getting Kim to open up about her short-lived marriage to Kris Humphries . “Everyone who’s asked was the marriage a publicity stunt? Why did she leave after 72 days? Her answer leveled me,” Winfrey said on her Facebook page . “Ok my friends I had the longest interviewing session I can ever recall, talking to ALLLLLLLL the Kardashians. I had never met them, nor seen the show,” Winfrey blogged. “I did a full on Kardashian Kram in preparation, watching major shows from every season. I genuinely wanted to know why they have become a cultural phenomenon? Why do so many people love to watch their every move and why do so many others love to hate them. Are they completely ego centered? Are they really ‘famous for being famous’ or is there something more? “I ‘GOT IT’ … those answers + more,” she added. “Those of you who watch the show know they hold nothing back. “The LeBrons”, the new, original animated Web series soon-to-be-launched by LeBron James through his Spring Hill Productions and Believe Entertainment Group, has announced the all-star voice cast for the show that includes actress Niecy Nash and Young Money rapper Drake. Niecy Nash, last seen on The Style Network’s home makeover show, “Clean House,” and as a celebrity correspondent for CBS’ “Entertainment Tonight” will be the voice of GLORIA, the mother figure of “The LeBrons.” Speaking on her plans to work on the basketball star’s production, Nash released a statement saying: “When I was asked to be a part of this project I jumped at the chance! I’m a fan of LeBron’s and I was interested in seeing him in a different light, not to mention the fact my arm didn’t have to be twisted to play the only woman in a male dominated world! Unfortunately, the positive influence of the staff at Oprah’s school in South Africa continues not to seem to be enough for some of the students. Case in point: a 17-year-old who hid her pregnancy, putting her child’s life in jeopardy as a result. The body of a newborn baby was discovered in a bag belonging to a student at the already scandal-plagued Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in Johannesburg, according to South African authorities. Hospital staffers discovered the lifeless infant when the 17-year-old girl identified as the baby’s mother was brought in to be treated for excessive bleeding, the child in a bag she brought with her. Police believe that the girl, who remains hospitalized, gave birth at the school. Charges have not been filed at this time and police are investigating, after which the case will be turned over to the Director for Public Prosecutions, ABC News reports. They have not said whether foul play is suspected in the child’s death. A Chicago-based spokesman for Winfrey’s school said they will not be commenting on the case, as it involves a minor. As did the case of the school’s former dorm matron, who was accused in 2007 of molesting several students. Virginia Tiny Makopo was eventually acquitted of the charges, leaving Winfrey “profoundly disappointed.” The talk-show queen and cable-network founder ultimately fired the school’s headmistress, as well, stating that she would do everything in her power to “ensure [the students’] safety and well-being.” In March 2009, four pupils were expelled and another three suspended for alleged “inappropriate behaviors,” which were said to include “sexual misconduct,” toward other students. So sad… makes you wonder how many other boarding schools in Africa are plagued with these issues.
