Justin Bieber Meets Crying 3-Year-Old Fan For ‘Jimmy Kimmel’

‘Cody rules,’ Bieber tweets about his encounter with the YouTube celeb. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber Photo: Getty Images Monday (March 1) is Justin Bieber’s 16th birthday, but before he opened his own presents, he gave a huge gift to one of his youngest, but most enthusiastic, fans. Last week, 3-year-old Cody became an Internet sensation when her sister posted a video of her crying over the teen heartthrob on YouTube. In a pretaped segment for Monday night’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Bieber came face to face with the toddler. And in a fortunate turn of events, the encounter didn’t make Cody cry at all. Bieber posted a photo of their meeting and wrote, “Makin faces with Cody, Ciera, and @chynanny325 !! Awesome family and Cody isn’t crying..haha. Happy to surprise them.” He later tweeted about how much he loved meeting his little fan. “I met Cody. She is even cuter in person,” he wrote in response to Perez Hilton. And he wrote to Joe Jonas that the meeting occurred last Thursday. “Yep, Cody rules. Actually met her yesterday.” Cody’s older sister, Cheyenne, also wrote about the meeting on the Twitter account she started in response to Cody’s fame. “Hey guys watch us meet Justin on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ on Monday night…At midnight… He kissed me BTW… ahhh.” Related Videos 2010 Winter Olympics: From The Athletes’ Perspectives Related Artists Justin Bieber

Daniel Radcliffe Is ‘Hypnotized’ By Olympic Curling

‘It’s that thing where they go really slow — and then they go mental for a few seconds!’ the ‘Harry Potter’ star explains. By Larry Carroll, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Daniel Radcliffe Photo: MTV News When the Olympics are going on, as they have been for the past few weeks, we are a country torn asunder. Some people watch them, some watch anything but them, and a small-but-increasingly vocal minority would undoubtedly love to have Quidditch included in competition. Recently, we caught up with “Harry Potter” star Daniel Radcliffe who, while discussing his work with the Trevor Project (a nonprofit suicide- and crisis-prevention hotline for gay and questioning youth), was eager to express some thoughts that should delight all three factions. “As a Brit, the winter Olympics aren’t something you get all heads-up about,” the London-born star explained. “But I have been watching a bit of the hockey.” Excuse us? The boy wizard is a fan of the blue-collar sport overflowing with bruises, blood and beer-soaked fans? But wait, it gets weirder. “I’ve been amazed at how much I’ve been [enjoying] curling,” Radcliffe said of another sport he likes watching, one that is as intrinsically Canadian as it is endearingly silly-looking. “[I like it] just because it demands so little of you to watch it.” Always diplomatic, the 20-year-old star stopped short of dissing curling. “It’s a highly skilled thing, I’m sure,” Radcliffe said of curling. “But to actually watch it is very easy. It’s like you’re being hypnotized or something! “It’s sweeping!” he laughed. “It’s that thing where they go really slow — and then they go mental for a few seconds! I love it. So I’ve been getting into the curling; Sweden got caned last night by Canada.” Radcliffe loves the Olympic sport so much, in fact, that he said once Harry’s Quidditch days are over, he may trade in his Nimbus 2000 for a different sort of broom. “I could be [a curling athlete]; yeah, there we go,” Radcliffe laughed. “When ‘Potter’ finishes, I can do that.” Related Videos MTV Rough Cut: Daniel Radcliffe

Jennifer Lopez Spoofs ‘We Are The World,’ Olympics On ‘SNL’

J. Lo’s television blitz continues with ‘How I Met Your Mother’ cameo, rumored ‘Glee’ appearance. By Hillary Crosley Jennifer Lopez spoofs “We are the World” on SNL on Febuary 27 Photo: NBC Jennifer Lopez might be between record labels , but her television appearances have been fast and frequent. After filming an episode of CBS’ “How I Met Your Mother” last month, playing a sexy self-help guru who seduces Neil Patrick Harris’ character, Lopez hit “Saturday Night Live” for the first time in almost a decade. “The first time I was on this show was 10 years ago. … Back then I was single and traveling around with a big entourage,” Lopez said, opening the show in a form-fitting black leather dress. “But people grow up; now I’m married with two beautiful children.” The singer/actress went on to have an awkward conversation with comedian and “SNL” cast member Kenan Thompson, who was posing as a discarded member of her 1990s entourage, flanked by two drag queens wearing her infamous green barely-there dress and a denim bodysuit. All ended well as Thompson left the stage with the drag queens in tow and J. Lo began the show. Another skit portrayed “We Are the World 3,” a spoof of the recent remake. Lopez played Rihanna , wearing a black and white Balmain-inspired leather jacket with gold hoops, hipster sunglasses and a blond cropped wig. “There comes a time, eh!, when we heed a certain call, eh!” Lopez sang, poking fun at the “Rude Boy” singer. In the next skit, Lopez was part of a Winter Olympics curling team. She played a confused Telemundo reporter covering the Winter Olympics in another. “We don’t understand these, es loca!” said Lopez, wearing an orange blazer. The strangest clip had to be a mock celebrity news interview in which Lopez was questioned by Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader, leading the Bronx native to scream “paciencia y fe” (“patience and faith”) like a madwoman before stomping out of view. Lopez also performed two guiter-led songs including the Danja-produced, Wynter Gordon-written “Starting Over” from her forthcoming album, Love? Her LP is slated to hit stores this summer. Lopez still has not specified what label she has signed to, but Deadline Hollywood , the blog that originally broke the story of the Sony split, reported that she is in talks with Island Def Jam. Neither she nor her former label, Sony Records, has discussed what precipitated the split, but Deadline speculated that it might have been a response to the poor critical and commercial reception to the album’s first official single, “Louboutins,” which failed to light up the charts. Lopez’s episode of “How I Met Your Mother” airs March 8, and she is rumored to be in talks for an appearance on the Golden Globe-winning show “Glee.” Related Artists Jennifer Lopez

Matisyahu Says Olympic Song ‘One Day’ Is ‘A Global Anthem’

‘I wanted to write a song that was an accessible global anthem for hope and peace,’ MC says. By Kyle Anderson Matisyahu Photo: Brian Appio Matisyahu is honest: He’s not exactly the biggest Olympics aficionado. Still, that didn’t stop him from crafting “One Day,” a collaboration with Akon that has been serving as the official anthem of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. The song wasn’t written expressly for the games (it first appeared on Matisyahu’s 2009 album Light ), but the themes and goals of the track ended up applying perfectly. “I wanted to write a song that was an accessible global anthem for hope and peace,” the MC told MTV News. “I don’t know exactly how it came about, but somebody heard it and thought it would be a good fit.” Since the start of the games, “One Day” has popped up in a number of places during NBC’s broadcasts, from soundtracking montages to scoring bumpers. The MC even got the opportunity to travel to Vancouver for a few days. While he was there, he felt the positive vibe that has extended to everybody in Vancouver around the games. “I had one moment when we were performing and we were playing ‘One Day’ and I looked out into the crowd and saw all these different flags,” he explained. “Everybody has their flags, and it was a cool a really cool feeling — a utopian kind of feeling.” Even though he doesn’t consider himself much of a Winter Olympics enthusiast, he has plenty of background in some of the biggest sports of the games. “I played hockey growing up and it’s a sport I really enjoy. I also worked on a ski mountain for a few years and got into snowboarding, so I’m something of a winter sports kind of guy,” he said. As a result, he has been deeply invested in the United States’ ongoing improbable run (including their upset victory over Canada). If nothing else, it keeps things interesting while he’s on the road (continuing a tour that will last well into the spring). “Some guys in my band are Canadian, and we all grew up playing hockey, so there’s a friendly rivalry happening.” Related Artists Matisyahu

Kanye West’s Greatest Blog Moments

‘Why won’t you let me be great?,’ ‘South Park’ and more all-caps greatness. By Kyle Anderson Kanye West Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage Even when he decided to lay low following his interruption of Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the 2009 Video Music Awards, Kanye West has remained connected to his fans and admirers via his blog . In between posts about video premieres, friends’ songs, and looks, books and anything else he’s excited about, Kanye has populated his blog with delightfully sprawling rants about whatever happened to be bothering him on any given day. He has also often responded to criticism in this way, constructing long diatribes that, because they are almost always published in all capital letters, can come across as the rantings of a madman. Kanye launched his long-promised new blog, KanyeWest.com , on Wednesday (February 24), and although at press time it only featured a provocative photo of his girlfriend Amber Rose and his new “Coldest Winter” video (and its relation to his Kanye University site , which includes his blog, remains unclear at press time), it feels like a good time to roll out our favorite Kanye blog moments.

Sade Holds #1 Billboard Spot In Week Two

Rihanna’s ‘Rude Boy’ boosts Rated R in slow sales week. By Gil Kaufman Sade’s Soldier of Love Photo: Epic Sade ‘s fans have clearly missed her. Soldier of Love, her first album since 2000, hangs onto the #1 spot for a second week on the Billboard 200 charts. That’s despite a drop to 190,000 copies sold, 62 percent less than its debut week, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan. Even with that drop-off, Sade was able to hold off former #1 Lady Antebellum , whose Need You Now slipped 31 percent in week four to 144,000, pushing the country group over the 1 million mark in just one month. The rest of the top 10 are the Black Eyed Peas ‘ The E.N.D. (Energy Never Dies) (#3, 65,000), Lady Gaga ‘s Fame (#4, 63,000), Lil Wayne ‘s Rebirth (#5, 58,000), Susan Boyle ‘s I Dreamed a Dream (#6, 51,000), Alicia Keys ‘ The Element of Freedom (#7, 39,000), Jaheim ‘s Another Round (#8, 36,000), Josh Turner ‘s Haywire (#9, 33,000) and Taylor Swift ‘s Fearless (#10, 32,000). Rihanna ‘s latest single, “Rude Boy,” appears to have boosted her prospects, as Rated R jumps 17 slots to #18 on sales of 25,000, and its total sales nearly reach 664,000. Meanwhile, former boyfriend Chris Brown ‘s Graffiti continues to struggle, stalling out at #117 on sales of just over 5,000, with less than 300,000 in sales to date. The only debut in the top 40 came from Winter Olympics opening ceremony crooner k.d. lang , whose compilation Recollection bows at #36 on sales of 15,000. Nick Jonas & the Administration ‘s Who I Am continues its freefall, dropping more than 20 spots to #51, as sales were halved to 12,000. That’s not as steep as the cliff that the Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds Live in Las Vegas album drove off of, plummeting 49 spots in week two to #66 (9,000), as 75 percent of sales dried up. Things aren’t likely to pick up much next week: The only major chart debuts will be from late country icon Johnny Cash and punkers Alkaline Trio . Related Artists Sade Lady Antebellum

Scotty Lago Leaves Vancouver Olympics After Racy Photo Controversy

Snowboarder Scotty Lago bolted the Winter Olympics after a racy photo surfaced of him inviting girls to kiss his bronze medal. While it hung around his waist. The third-place finisher in the men’s halfpipe snowboarding event voluntarily left after the risque photos of a woman kissing and biting his … medal surfaced. The 22-year-old free spirit was snapped with his bronze medal around his waist and the hardware hung over his groin area on a public street late Thursday. Pretty rad display all around. A second shot showed a woman biting the medal, but this time Scotty Lago held it up by the logo on his Team USA T-shirt. Hey, a dude’s gotta celebrate . KISS OFF: Snowboarder Scotty Lago is in hot water with the U.S. Olympic Committee and Snowboard Association after inviting the ladies to kiss deez bronze medalz . In response to the controversy, Lago apologized to the U.S. Olympic Committee and the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association, which required its athletes to attend a special program prior to the games to avoid potential PR nightmares. That was time well spent! Association President and CEO Bill Marolt said: “Scotty Lago is a great athlete, but with that talent comes a responsibility of proper conduct, and his involvement in this situation is not acceptable.” “With that said, Scotty realizes that his conduct was inappropriate. He has formally apologized and also made a decision to leave Vancouver today.” Reports say his “voluntary” departure was prompted by an ultimatum from the U.S. Olympic Committee: say you’re sorry and go or we kick you out. No further action against the Seabrook, N.H. native appears likely. In other Olympics news, how about those Lindsey Vonn photos ?! Hot damn!

LMFAO’s Sky Blu Was Other Man In Mitt Romney’s Plane Fight

Party rocker says the former Massachusetts governor started the scuffle. By Gil Kaufman LMFAO’s Sky Blu (file) Photo: Steven Lawton/ FilmMagic To date, the only party the members of LMFAO appear to support is the one that starts with shots and ends with being passed out on the floor in a heap of spandex neon tights and bikini tops. But group member Sky Blu made news on Monday for getting into a scuffle with former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney. When news first broke that Romney had gotten in a fight on a plane, the identity of the other man wasn’t revealed. On Thursday, however, TMZ reported that it was none other than Sky (born Skyler Gordy), half of the “Party Rock” duo. According to the site, Blu claims that despite initial reports that he became “physically violent” first after Romney asked him to put his seat up, it was the former Massachusetts governor who started things. After hanging with MTV News’ Sway in Vancouver at the Winter Olympics over the weekend, LMFAO boarded a flight to Los Angeles. And according to Blu’s account of the incident in a video posted on TMZ , he was tired, put his new “Party Rock” jacket over his face and leaned his coach seat back while the plane was still on the ground. That’s when Romney began yelling at him to put the seat upright. “I’m trying to just adjust myself so I can go to sleep,” Blu said. “I just hear this guy, he’s, ‘Sir, sir, put your seat up!’ I thought it was a flight attendant at first … and he says again, ‘Sir, put your seat up!’ A little louder and more angry towards me.” If Romney had asked nicely, Blu said he might have put his seat up, but since he was so rude … Well, next thing you know, Blu said Romney reached out and put his hand on his shoulder and asked him again to put his seat up. Blu said he knocked Romney’s hand away, thinking nothing of it. “His wife screams. … They’re getting loud, so then the flight attendant comes over, and I try to get louder than them to plead my case. ‘No, the man assaulted me! I was protecting myself!’ I might have thrown a few cuss words in there.” In the video, air marshals are seen escorting Blu off the plane. He said they diffused the situation and though the police detained him for a minute, he was not arrested but given a ticket for the next flight out. “I have no hard feelings toward him,” Blu said. “I’m sure he’s a good dude.” And while Blu, an avowed Democrat, said he would not vote for Romney, he admitted he might get a drink with the Mormon politician … if he drinks. Spokespeople for LMFAO and Romney could not be reached for comment at press time. Related Videos This Week’s Biggest News Related Artists Lmfao
