VH1 has followed Evelyn’s story through four seasons of “Basketball Wives” - beginning with the end of her engagement to NBA player Antoine Walker, to her single life and now her current relationship with Chad Ochocinco. After going through their own set of peaks and valleys in this new relationship together, they are ready to take the next step to “I do” – with cameras in tow. Watch as VH1 presents a behind-the-scenes look at Chad and Evelyn and their journey to become “Mr. and Mrs.” Audiences will get a glimpse into all aspects of Evelyn and Chad’s relationship, from the tumultuous times, having to deal with cheating rumors and heartache, to dealing with the often negative and always invasive tabloid press, social media criticism of their partnership and tough family decisions about who’ll walk Evelyn down the aisle. Niiiiice *Fabolous voice* According to TMZ reports : Chad Ochocinco and Evelyn Lozada have signed their deal to do a “Basketball Wives” spinoff show with VH1 … and they each have 300,000 reasons to celebrate … TMZ has learned. According to our sources, filming on the new show will begin in the next few weeks, right after taping for “Wives” ends. We’re told the show will focus on the couple as they get ready to exchange vows this summer. Our sources say negotiations finally wrapped last week and the two will each take home $300,000 for about two months of work. As TMZ first reported, when Evelyn re-upped her contract with “Basketball Wives” last year, part of the deal called for VH1 to give her and Chad their own show. The show should be officially announced this week. 300 racks is no small change, especially in these economic times, but we kind of expected that number to be a lil’ higher considering that Evelyn is the engine in the Basketball Wives Bentley. Those rumors of an Evelyn and Chad show are now reality! Variety is reporting that the executive producer of “Basketball Wives” will be continuing in his duties with the franchise AND working as EP for Evelyn and Chad’s new show: Shed Media U.S. has signed Sean Rankine to a new deal to continue as showrunner of VH1′s “Basketball Wives” franchise. Rankine exec produces Miami-set “Basketball Wives” and “Basketball Wives Los Angeles,” as well as upcoming new unscripted series “Ocho & Ev,” featuring Chad Ochocinco and Evelyn Lozada. Rankine operates “with grace under a lot of pressure,” Shed Media prexy Nick Emmerson said, and has worked well on “Basketball Wives” in coordination with Shed senior veep Alex Demyanenko. “They together managed to sort of get the women to really trust the team, trust the producers and basically open up to allow their lives, warts and all, to be on screen,” Emmerson told Variety. “Day in, day out, night in, night out … (Rankine) is there, gaining their trust, carving out storylines.” February’s fourth-season premiere of “Basketball Wives” drew 2.5 million overall viewers, a nearly 40% increase over its May 2011 season-three launch. “Sean has been absolutely instrumental in guiding this hit franchise for us,” VH1 programming and production exec veep Jeff Olde said. “He is an incredible storyteller and apparently also an insomniac, and we are so grateful for both.” Rankine’s other exec producer credits include “The Kristoffer Winters Project” for Bravo and “Saddle Ranch” for VH1. I don’t really care for this season of Basketball Wives, but it’s not stopping their great ratings.Vh1 is thrilled to report that the season premiere of Basketball Wives pulled in nearly four million viewers{3.7 million}, a record high for the series. That’s up 42% from the season premiere, which is a huge leap. But then again, this show and especially this season, has reached epic proportions.
