Miss Ohio Audry Bolte Says “Pretty Woman” Paints Women In Positive Light During Sunday evening’s Miss USA contest on NBC, top five finalist Miss Ohio Audrey Bolte told the judges that Julia Roberts’ character in the 1990 romantic comedy Pretty Woman is an example of a positive portrayal of women in film. Judge Marilu Henner asked Bolte: “Do you think women are depicted in movies and on television in an accurate and positive way? And please give us an example.” Bolte responded: I think it depends on the movie. I think there are some movies that depict women in a very positive role, and then some movies that put them in a little bit more of negative role. But by the end of the movie, they show that woman power that I know we all have. Such as movie Pretty Woman. We had a wonderful, beautiful woman, Julia Roberts, and she was having a rough time, but, you know what, she came out on top and she didn’t let anybody stand in her path. *sigh* Here sweetheart, have a seat and relax. Superhead ain’t got nothin’ on her! SMH… John Edwards’ baby mama is about to get that paper! Rielle Hunter, the mother of John Edwards’ love child and the woman with whom he conducted a scandalous affair, is about to publish a memoir, “What Really Happened: John Edwards, Our Daughter and Me.” (Photos: AP) The news was announced on Friday, one day after Edwards was found not guilty of funneling about $1 million from his 2008 presidential run to Hunter through Andrew Young, a loyal campaign staffer. The jury deadlocked on five other counts, and the judge ruled a mistrial. According to People magazine, which first reported on the book, Hunter’s memoir will be published in on June 26 by the boutique press BenBella Books. Said the company’s president, Glenn Yeffeth, “We are delighted to publish Rielle Hunter’s memoir. A lot has been said. But no one has heard the truth of what really happened until now.” Readers will surely be curious about how the 80′s party girl who is featured in the novels of literary Brat Packers Jay McInerney and Bret Easton Ellis tells her own tale. That tale is a long one. Hunter was born Lisa Jo Druck to a Florida lawyer who ran a horse farm. After dropping out of college in the mid-80′s, she moved to New York, where she dated McInerney. She would appear in his 1988 novel “Story of My Life,” where Alison Poole, the character obviously based on Hunter, is portrayed as “an ostensibly jaded, yayo-addled, sexually voracious 20-year-old.” Poole also appears in Ellis’ “American Psycho” and “Glamorama.” Later, Druck moved to Los Angeles, where she married the lawyer “Kip” Hunter III in 1991, changing her name to Rielle Hunter three years later. She divorced her husband in 2000. In the intervening years, she became involved in Internet videography, rising to some prominence in the field. Supposedly, she met Edwards, then a rising star in the Democratic Party, at the Regency Hotel in New York in 2006, pitching herself as a potential campaign videographer. She would become that and much, much more. rielle-hunter-300_0.jpegThe rest of it is most sordid history, and most of it already relayed in “Game Change,” the 2010 book about the 2008 presidential campaign by John Heilemann and Mark Halperin. In it, they describe Edwards’ increasing and increasingly irrational infatuation with the loopy Hunter, even as his wife Elizabeth is dying of breast cancer. It fell to the National Enquirer to first reveal their affair in 2007, leading to near-endless denials from Edwards, despite mounting evidence against him. Edwards made incomplete admissions starting in the summer of 2008, finally fessing up to fathering a child with Hunter in 2010. His wife died shortly thereafter. One of the juicer moments in Hunter’s book will probably be her response to the revelation that Edwards called her a “crazy slut” to Young in 2007 after being informed that he was the father of the child now known as Quinn. Dear Bossip , My daughter is 21-years old and is the apple of my eye. Don’t get me wrong I have two more kids, but I’m close to my youngest one. But, lately we have been fighting over every little thing to the point where I back away from her. Let’s start from how it started. Almost a year ago my daughter met a guy online when she was living with me and before I knew it he was living in my home, and that where the battle starts. My daughter and I have been at each other’s necks to the point where she has told me many times that she is taking my grandkids from me and leaving town. She forgets I’m the one who stopped children’s services from taking both of her babies because she didn’t let anyone know she was pregnant with the first child. She had him by herself in her room. And, the second she just made it to the hospital. It’s gotten to the point that my daughter has moved out and into her own home and welfare has cut her off for six months. So, me and my mom has been paying her bills instead of having her move back home, but I went an extra yard to make sure that she has little things she needs. But, every time I turn around she is snapping my head off for no reason whatsoever, and making me look like the bad guy every time. Then to top it off, every time I jump back at her man steps in with his 2cents. So, when I lay down the law on him he goes running back to my daughter. It’s gotten to the point where we don’t speak for weeks. Now, that I’m finally getting my life out of storage from these last three years, after being there for my daughter and her kids, and trying to find someone in my life, everything between me and my daughter has gone downward so very fast that I didn’t have time to blink or turn my neck. What should I do to fix my relationship with my daughter? – Crying Mother Dear Ms. Crying Mother , Ma’am, uhm, she is grown. She’s 21-years old, and all this babying you’re doing for her needs to stop. I wish I would extend myself to my child and they act ignorant, showing me their ass to kiss, acting ungrateful, and choosing some random man over me, and I’m the one who brought you into this world. What’s that saying, “You talk and act crazy at me, chile, I brought you in this world and I will take you out of it!” And, that’s when I commence to swinging and going upside their head! This heifer got pregnant, and didn’t tell you, or she waited to tell you at the last minute since she had the baby in her room by herself. That right there tells me that your relationship was already a strained one. How the hell you’re going to give birth in my house, in your room, and by yourself, and I don’t know about it? Chile, no ma’am. But, let’s move forward. Why didn’t you know she was pregnant? How could you miss the signs and her big ass stomach? A mother knows when something is going on with her daughter, so therefore, what was going on between you two that you didn’t pick up on something? See, right here, that’s an issue. Whatever has been going on between you and daughter is something that you’ve created. Something that you have not been on top of as your job as a mother. There is no respect, no communication, and no relationship. Perhaps you’ve been babying her, and giving her too much credit, and leniency (You did say that she was the apple of your eye, and when –ish hit the fan you stepped in and continued babying her). Instead of coddling this woman, you should have been ruling with an iron fist, and not giving her too much freedom to do what the hell she wants to do, i.e. meeting a man online and he moves into your house. Girl! Please tell me that….never mind, she did move some random man she met online into your home. That right there! See, you are the problem. You have no parental skills. None whatsoever! You know how I know, look at your daughter’s life. It’s a hotassmess!! And, if your daughter’s life is a mess, then we know where she got it from – HER MOMMA! I’m also clear that you’ve been treating her more like a friend instead of a daughter. Because all that –ish you’re doing, and how she treats you, speaks to you, and allows her man to disrespect you, uhm, Ms. Get-You-A-Backbone, you need to put your foot down and stop running to her rescue. She’s an adult, so treat her as such. She wants to show out and forget all that you’ve done for her, then cut her narrow ass off. Stop giving her money, paying her bills, and letting her run back and forth to you when she needs something. Cut that –ish off today! She’s an adult, and she has a man living with her, so they will figure out how to get money, food, clothes, and pay the bills. It’s time for her to grow the hell up, and time for you to stop treating her like she’s a damn baby. SHE IS GROWN! Give her a grown ass lesson. And, you let her know that moving forward she is going to have to learn how to respect you as a mother. You’re not her friend. You’re not her banker. You’re not an ATM. I understand that you don’t want your grandchildren to be without, so, put some limitations on things. Keep the pampers, milk, baby clothes, and other necessities for the babies at your house. So, when they come over they will be taken care of, but you can’t take care of your house, and hers. SHE NEEDS TO GET A DAMN JOB! That’s why welfare cut her ass off. And, I’ll be damned if my tax dollars keep funding trifling mofo’s like this. It’s time you start living your life, and enjoying it. Monaghan tweets that his former ‘Lost’ co-star has ‘often’ abused women; a source close to Fox denies the claims to TMZ. It all stemmed from a fan asking Monaghan to persuade Fox to tweet more. “He beats women. No thanks,” he told the fan, @omggbeccaa. Monaghan was seemingly referring to an allegation by a female Cleveland party-bus driver who filed a personal-injury suit against Fox last year after he allegedly punched her in the groin when she refused to take him back to his hotel. Prosecutors never filed charges against the actor, and Fox has since countersued the woman for defamation. After Monaghan’s initial tweet to her, the fan responded, “I KNOW IT WAS WRONG BUT WHAT?! WHAT ABOUT ALL THOSE GOOD TIMES YOU HAD TOGETHER?!” He tweeted back, “How do you know we ever did?you don’t know either of us.he beats women.not isolated incidents.often.not interested.” Regarding the Cleveland woman’s claim against Fox, the actor added, “An accusation is when you’claim’ someone did something wrong.i know.but hey little fan girl maybe want to get slapped around by him? Daddy issues? Blinded by the nice haircut? It’s never okay. Maybe you have lower standards.” As the heated conversation came to an end, the fan responded, “Sorry about the matthew fox thing stay awesome,” before she began receiving threats from people who accused her of condoning abuse. “To clear things up- when i wrote that tweet i had no idea it would get that kind of a response from dom.. after that tweet, i wrote back without even thinking- in that moment i was just diassapointed- so for those of you who are saying that i think it is okay to ‘beat women’ you are wrong, so please stop with the hate tweets,” she wrote. “i respect doms opinion, just not the way he handled the response.” According to TMZ , since the exchange went down over the weekend, a source close to Fox said he has never beaten a woman, despite Monaghan’s Twitter allegations. The source added that the actors haven’t spoken in years and never had any huge arguments that would lead to Monaghan’s Twitter tirade. Fox’s rep has yet to comment. In 2010, Monaghan portrayed an abusive boyfriend in Eminem ‘s “Love the Way You Lie” video alongside Megan Fox. “I think we tried as hard as we could to not glorify the violence, to try and explain that this was a relationship that is by no means ideal and a relationship that probably should have ended a lot sooner than it did,” Monaghan told MTV News in 2011 about his role in the controversial clip. Of Em’s own history with violence , Monaghan added, “He has a very good handle on his anger. He’s able to channel it very easily. Instead of hiding behind it or pretending that there’s something else going on, he actually is able to pinpoint where his anger is coming from.”
Pop Queen’s inclusion of lines from her ‘She’s Not Me’ makes medley seem more like dig than tribute. By John Mitchell Madonna Photo: AFP/Getty Images Madonna ‘s diva rivalry with Lady Gaga may be taken up a notch when her MDNA tour kicks off Thursday at Tel Aviv, Israel’s Ramat Gan Stadium. In new rehearsal footage , the 53-year-old legend is seen singing a mashup of her “Express Yourself” and Gaga’s “Born This Way” that concludes with a few lines from Madonna’s copycat-shaming “She’s Not Me.” Last year, when Lady Gaga released her hit single “Born This Way,” controversy erupted over the song’s similarity to Madonna’s “Express Yourself.” (Never mind that much of the resemblance is rooted in both songs’ use of a pretty common disco chord progression.) At first, things seemed cool between the two singers. They’d always gotten along publicly, and Gaga told Jay Leno that M’s camp reached out to say all was well in the diva-verse with regard to the songs’ similarities (something later denied by Madonna’s people). The whole thing appeared to have blown over until earlier this year, when Madonna was promoting her movie “W.E.” and her Super Bowl halftime performance during an ABC News interview. Madonna was asked what she thought of the comparisons, and in response she called Lady Gaga “reductive.” Gaga’s been pretty quiet throughout, but it’s hard not to wonder if she’ll stay that way once word of this latest swipe makes its way to her ears. (Gaga is currently in Asia on her tour, and she was recently forced to cancel a planned show in Indonesia after receiving threats from fundamentalist Islamic groups in the country.) New leaked footage from rehearsals for Madonna’s own road show showcases a reportedly planned mashup of “Express Yourself” and “Born This Way,” and while the resemblance between the two songs remains as striking as ever, that’s not the real story. Just those two songs layered together could have been fun: The two stars certainly have overlapping fanbases, who no doubt would have delighted in the winking acknowledgement of M’s influence on Gaga. But Madonna complicates things by concluding the medley with a few lines from her Hard Candy track “She’s Not Me,” a song about Madonna being emulated by another woman. The inclusion of “She’s Not Me” makes the medley seem like yet another scathing dig at Gaga. It’s unknown whether Madonna was just goofing around during rehearsals or whether she plans to include that final digging refrain throughout her tour. After a whirlwind trip to Cannes, France last week and losing sentimental items and trust to TSA on her trip home, Kim Kardashian was looking to let loose. So she did. The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star made a beeline for Beyonce’s concert at Revel’s Ovation Hall in Atlantic City, N.J., on Sunday night. In addition to dancing and singing along to Bey’s chart-topping hits, Kim got a chance to chat with the woman of the evening herself backstage. OMG! The two have plenty to discuss, of course. Beyonce’s husband of four years, Jay-Z, is best friends with Kanye West, Kardashian’s serious boyfriend. Says a source klose to Kim: “Kim thought it was such a great show . During Saturday’s performance (she did four shows there), Beyonce revealed that she’s lost 60 pounds since giving birth to baby Blue Ivy Carter. “Y’all have no idea how hard I worked! Man Pees On Woman During An Argument They need some marriage counseling. Kenneth Timmer of Jupiter, Fla., is accused of urinating on a woman during an argument inside a mobile home on May 19. A sheriff’s deputy came to the residence to investigate “a disturbance,” according to an arrest affidavit sent to The Huffington Post. The deputy met 27-year-old Meghan Johns, who was wearing a white tank-top covered with a “smelly wet liquid,” the report says. Johns told the deputy that Timmer came into the bathroom before she could finish. They started arguing and that’s when Timmer started peeing, first in the toilet and then on Johns’ chest, causing her to run for the phone to call police. Timmer, who appeared intoxicated, pushed Johns against the wall while they both grabbed for the phone, according to the affidavit. The report says Timmer denied any wrongdoing, but his shorts were covered with urine, as was the floor around the bathroom. He was arrested and charged with simple battery. The urine-soaked spat was not a quarrel between lovers. Timmer was visiting Johns’ roommate when the alleged incident took place, according to the affidavit. Well…that’s one way to settle an argument. We just wouldn’t recommend going with it, though. Source

Pregnant Woman Plays Dead After Being Kidnapped And Shot If the world doesn’t end in 2012… we are in for some deep problems. Because, people of the world today are crazy and doing anything to anybody: A 22-year-old pregnant woman and her unborn baby are alive expected to live after being kidnapped, set on fire and shot in Warren, Mich., police said. The woman, who is nine months pregnant, told police she was dropping her ex-boyfriend at his new girlfriend’s home early Saturday morning after seeing a drive-in movie. After they pulled into the garage and got out of the car, the garage door closed unexpectedly, she told police. “The next thing she knew she was grabbed by the throat and a gun was put to her head,” Warren Police Commissioner Jere Green told ABC News affiliate WXYZ-TV in Detroit. “She was ordered to the ground.” Duct tape was placed over her mouth and wrapped around her hands and feet, and she was blindfolded, before being put back into her car and driven to an alley in Detroit, Green said. “She didn’t know where she was at the time,” Warren police Sgt. Dave Geffert told the Detroit Free Press. The man who kidnapped her indicated that it was because of her pregnancy. “[The suspect] said ‘you know why this is happening’ and then he asked her about how far along she was,” Green said. The woman told police she felt liquid being poured on her, heard a match strike and then was set on fire. “She was able to get out of the car and start rolling on the ground, trying to put the fire out,” Green said. “And when that happened, two shots were fired and she was struck once in the back.” The woman played dead, and the man left, police said. “Right after the assailant had shot her, he fled the scene,” Geffert told the Free Press. “I’m saying ‘he’ because she reported a male voice, unknown description.” She freed herself from the duct tape and drove to her mother’s house in Detroit. Her mother took her to the hospital. Police took the woman’s ex-boyfriend into custody on Saturday and named him a person of interest in the case. He had not called 911 when she was kidnapped, police said. A possible motive is the boyfriend not wanting another baby, police said. An ultrasound performed after the attack showed the baby is healthy, police said, and the woman is expected to recover. Turn the page for the full video report.
