Source: John Greim / Getty Tulsa Woman Arrested For Popping Arby’s Customer After Altercation An infuriated Arby’s manager has been arrested after shooting and killing one of their unruly customers. According to the report from Tulsa Worldwide, Deionna Young, 25, was arrested in the shooting death of Desean Tallent, 25, in east Tulsa on Saturday evening. Police say that Tallent and Young got into an altercation Saturday evening about an hour before the shooting, according to a news release. Young was the manager at the Arby’s, where Tallent threatened and assaulted her by spitting on her. About an hour after the initial altercation, Tallent, the unruly customer RETUNED to the location. Why?! Police said Young got in her car and followed Tallent out of the parking lot north on Garnett Road from the store. Young reportedly fired one shot with a .45-caliber handgun, which was not licensed, at Tallent’s SUV and returned to work. Tallent drove the SUV north to Walmart where he crashed into one of the entrances after having suffered a gunshot wound to his upper torso. He later died at the hospital. Young is being held without bond at Tulsa County jail. Insane!

The Odessa American reports that police took Shirley Harmon, 36, into custody on an aggravated sexual assault of a child charge. Police say Harmon was paid $400 by a 62-year-old man to sexually assault her 5-year-old daughter. She was also charged with endangering a child, a second-degree felony, after authorities say she failed to report Gary Landreth, 62, for his alleged actions. The American adds that a forensic interview was conducted on the 5-year-old girl where she stated Landreth had touched her inappropriately and an exam was performed showing results consistent with sexual assault. Harmon reportedly admitted to investigators that her daughter told her she was touched inappropriately between 2017 and 2019. Harmon also reportedly admitted to receiving $400 to allow the man access to the girl. Gary Landreth was charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Source: Pacific Press / Getty Statue Of Liberty Climber Patricia Okoumou Will Not Serve Prison Time Patricia Okoumou , the woman who climbed the Statue Of Liberty to protest Donald Trump’s ignorant a$$ immigration policy last July 4, will not spend any time in jail so sayeth a Manhattan federal judge this afternoon according to AMNY . U.S. Magistrate Gabriel Gorenstein let Okoumou slide on jail time and opted instead to give her 200 hours of community service and 5 years of probation. Okoumou was facing 18 months in prison if she was found guilty but she didn’t let her conviction for trespass, disorderly conduct and interfering with governmental administration stop her from protesting against injustice. Following that arrest, Patricia participated in a protest climb of the Eiffel Tower and a climb of a headquarters that housed detained kids. Instead of revoking her bail for the Austin incident, the judge showed leniency and remanded her to home detention with an ankle monitor. Free the good sis!
A student at the University of South Florida is breaking racial barriers and displaying #BlackExcellence at the institution. According to ABC Action News , Britney Deas was elected to become the student body president at the Tampa-based school, making her the first Black woman to be appointed to the position. Her passion for advocacy led her to run for the student body president role at her school. Her win was historic; aside from being the first African American woman to be at the helm of the student government, she is the first woman in two decades to take on the position. For Deas, it’s all about representation. She hopes that her accomplishment inspires underrepresented individuals to change the status quo and boldly step into spaces that they’ve historically been locked out of. “Being the first African American female to hold the position is awesome. You know, I love to be that representation. Being the first female in 20 years is just as great because it shows that we’re moving forward,” she said in a statement, according to the news outlet. “If you want something, you go and you do it. You try and do it. There’s nothing stopping you but yourself.” Among the top issues on Deas’ agenda is combatting homelessness amongst the student population and creating resources for individuals battling with mental illness issues. She will be inaugurated next month and is slated to step into her role in May. Black students are rising up the ranks within campus groups and making history while doing so. In 2018, Kristine E. Guillaume was appointed to lead the Harvard Crimson making her the first Black woman to become president of the publication since it launched in 1873.
