Florida Woman Surprises Stepfather With Adoption Papers For His Birthday The DailyMail is reporting a story that will have you using up every kleenex in your crib … This is the heartwarming moment a young woman left her stepfather in tears after asking him to legally adopt her as part of a big birthday surprise. Gabriella Guardado, 22, placed adoption papers and a pen inside a gift bag and presented them to her stepdad, David Lynde, earlier this month for his birthday. In video capturing the tear-jerking moment, David is seen opening the bag and pulling out the papers while surrounded by his family in their Florida home. After taking some time to realize what the papers said, the 53-year-old becomes very emotional by Gabriella’s sweet gesture. Nate Parker Apologizes For Lack Of Gender Perspective, Addresses Male Privilege Nate Parker has been getting dragged relentlessly over the past few weeks , ever since details of past sexual assault allegations hit the news . Faced with cancelled screenings and potential backlash against his latest film project, Parker is admitting his initial response to his past being brought up was not the best: According to Ebony reports : After answering a question about why he chose to make “yet another slave film,” Parker addressed the controversy head-on. “I think it’s very difficult to talk about injustice and not deal with what’s happening right now,” the 36-year-old actor and director told the audience. “When I was first met with the news that this part of my past had come up, my knee-jerk reaction was selfish. I wasn’t thinking about even the potential hurt of others; I was thinking about myself.” For the next 12 minutes, Parker discussed learning about things like toxic masculinity and male privilege, while explaining that he isn’t upset the rape allegation has been resurrected. “This is happening for a very specific reason,” Parker explained, referencing God throughout the conversation. “To be honest, my privilege as a male, I never thought about it. I’m walking around daring someone to say something or do something that I define is racist or holding us back, but never really thinking about male culture and the destructive effect it’s having on our community.” Definitely a good start right? There’s more though. Parker spoke at length with the Ebony reporter, discussing how little his 19-year-old self understood about consent and honestly a lot of what he has to say is STILL problematic. EBONY.com: You started out tonight addressing the controversy, and you talked a lot about male culture and toxic masculinity. So I want to kind of compare. What, at 19, did you know about consent? Nate Parker: To be honest, not very much. It wasn’t a conversation people were having. When I think about 1999, I think about being a 19-year-old kid, and I think about my attitude and behavior just toward women with respect objectifying them. I never thought about consent as a definition, especially as I do now. I think the definitions of so many things have changed. EBONY.com: So how does it differ for you? Nate Parker: You mean like where I am right now? EBONY.com: Yeah, as 36-year-old Nate. Nate Parker: Put it this way, when you’re 19, a threesome is normal. It’s fun. Mariah Carey’s Sister Allison Caught Up In Online Prostitution Ring Mariah Carey found out how much of a letdown family can be after her sister was arrested for prostitution in New York. Fifty-five-year-old Allison Carey, said to be estranged from Mariah, was caught up in a police sweep during an undercover investigation. PEOPLE reported that although the two had been estranged for years Mariah has always taken care of her family’s finances. Allison’s bond has been set and she’s due in court next week. Via PEOPLE Mariah Carey’s sister has been arrested on a prostitution charge in Saugerties, New York, according to the Daily Freeman. Alison Carey, 55, was reportedly arrested by police in an undercover investigation at an unidentified Saugerties hotel. A police officer reportedly posed as a client, and Alison was arrested after “soliciting money in exchange for sexual favors,” according to the local newspaper. Saugerties Police Chief Joseph Sinagra told the paper that Alison told police she was related to the star and he described Alison as “transient.” Police claimed they set up the sting after seeing Alison allegedly advertise her services online. A source tells PEOPLE that Mariah and Alison had been estranged “for years. “Mariah takes care of her entire family and I’m sure this is very painful for her,” the source said. The report said in one ad posted Friday, Alison wrote, “Im a pretty lady looking for guys who are looking to have some fun and get into a world of pleasure that other woman just cant provide two you.” Alison even referenced her famous sister’s 1995 hit “Fantasy” in the ad. Sinagra told the local news outlet that “based on their stories,” there could be cause for concern for people who had sexual encounters with Carey. He advised that any people who has sex with her in the past refer to their doctors, “particularly if it was unprotected.” Carey was arraigned in Saugerties Town Court and sent to Ulster County Jail. But very few of us have been HERE … On Monday night, an unnamed University of Pittsburgh student wanted to impress a woman he saw on Forbes Avenue. So he climbed to the roof of a building and tried to leap over to the roof of a nearby building… … only to fail miserably and actually get himself wedged between a Qdoba and a Bruegger’s Bagels. This is where he remained for four hours. “He didn’t quite achieve his goal. He missed and fell in between the buildings,” said Police Spokesperson Sonya Toler. The student was stuck in a 16-inch wide gap, three stories high, from approximately 2 a.m. through approximately 6 a.m. Police and rescue paramedics arrived at the scene not long after witnesses say the man plummet to his near-death. And total embarrassment. He was eventually broken free and taken to UPMC Presbyterian, where Toler said he was treated and will be just fine. Physically, that is. Mentally, we’d have to assume this is the sort of incident that remains with one for a very long time. To pry him loose from the gap, the Public safety department had to drill holes in three walls of the buildings, two of which were in Qdoba and one in the neighboring building. Chad Brooks, the franchise owner of all Qdobas in Pittsburgh, said the interior wall of his restaurant had to be taken down and rebuilt, but he wasn’t certain how much it would cost. The restaurant will be closed for at least a few weeks, yet Brooks said he was not looking to press charges against the man. So even though this idiot didn’t get lucky on Monday evening, he did end up getting lucky in the end. He could have died. He could be facing a lawsuit. And instead he just went home to the hospital alone.

But police say he hid his violent intent behind a stony face until he was close enough to strike. The attack happened about 8:30 p.m. in the state’s capital city on Fourth Avenue, a classic downtown street busy with people going to a local movie theater or visiting bars and restaurants. Rowe had recently been released from Washington State Penitentiary in Walla Walla, about 300 miles away. Police say he may have been among the ranks of the state’s homeless, who flock to Olympia for help on their way to Portland or Seattle. Rowe, 32, walked up to the couple and, without warning, yelled a racial slur and lunged with his knife, police say. The blade grazed the woman and went into the man’s hip, according to a news release from Olympia police. It comes as no surprise that Daniel is a supporter of Donald Trump… No one involved had life-threatening injuries, but police said Rowe’s behavior grew stranger as officers tried to wrestle him into the back of a patrol car. “He tells them, ‘Yeah, I stabbed them.
