Real Estate Mogul Don Peebles To Launch $500M Fund For Underrepresented Developers

According to The Real Deal , he’s launching a $500 million fund to support developers from underrepresented groups in South Florida, Los Angeles, New York and other cities. The new fund is another example of how Don Peebles has been a long-time game changer in his industry. https://t.co/9bl1w6ak7j — Black Enterprise (@blackenterprise) June 29, 2019 Peebles—who owns the real estate development firm Peebles Corp.—says he’s on a mission to level the playing field when it comes to access to capital. Through the fund he wants to work with developers from different cities throughout the country on projects that will be built on underdeveloped or vacant land. The projects will be a mix of commercial and residential buildings; some of which will have affordable housing units. According to Peebles, the fund will be supported by investors. He’s aiming to work on 60 different projects which will be between $10 million and $70 million each. “The idea is to create this business model that shows that investing in emerging developers and investing in diversity will result in higher returns with less risk,” he said while unveiling his plan at The Real Deal’s annual residential real estate event. “It’s a very positive thing to have the developments that are taking place in communities of color, to have the projects be developed by people of color. We see this as a win-win and an untapped market.” There are several entrepreneurs who are on a mission to make the real estate industry diverse. Johnetta G. Paye, Esq. and Ernestine Johnson created the first Black-owned real estate crowdfunding company to help individuals from underserved communities overcome the obstacles of gentrification by helping them make low-cost real estate investments. The Duggar Family rose to fame on the reality show 19 Kids and Counting. That show was canceled years ago, of course, in the wake of the Josh Duggar molestation scandal — but the title did prove to be prophetic. And Counting . The family can sure say that again! Over the past several weeks, one Duggar woman after another has come out and excitedly announced that she is pregnant. Even by the standards of a group who believes females are only useful to their ability to raise a human being inside of their womb, this has been as astounding run of sperm successfully fertilizing eggs. For the official record? Jessa Duggar welcomed a girl named Ivy Jane this past spring. Josh Duggar and his wife, Anna, are expecting their sixth child. Joseph Duggar and wife Kendra have revealed a baby is on the way, while Lauren Swanson and Josiah Duggar have said the same. Joy Duggar and Austin Forsyth have a little boy or a girl on board. Heck, even semi-estranged cousin Amy Duggar is pregnant. It’s a lot to process and those who have followed the journeys of these couples over the years must be thrilled for all of these famous men and women. But there are also critics of the Duggars. There always have been. At this point, after 2019, there will be 17 (!!!!!) Duggar grandchildren in the family — and fewer than half of the Duggars are married. That’s mind-boggling on one hand, but it’s also infuriating on another, according to these aforementioned critics. Last week, Kendra and Joe Duggar told Us Weekly that they’re expecting a girl, but not all the responses to this article were positive; some were downright mean and judgmental, in fact. “Thank you next. Absolutely no one cares there’s way too many of them,” one user wrote, while another chimed in as follows: “The world is already over populated, stop.” Elsewhere, people compared a Duggar pregnancy to a sunny day in Los Angeles (sort of funny), suggesting it isn’t news worthy, while others went after the entire family, saying they only marry to reproduce. This is clearly true. But to each his or her own we suppose, right? We aren’t always huge fans of his women are treating with the strict confines of this family because it does often seem like they are just pieces of property, like members of an effed up cult. But overpopulation concerns?!? We do not share those. The Duggars themselves, for whatever it’s wort, do not seem phased by any of this criticism. Cardi B Grinds on Offset in Epic On-Stage BET Awards Lapdance: WATCH!

We've already reported on the winners at the 2019 BET Awards , but the real winners were those of us who watched Cardi B perform. No, scratch that — the real winner was Offset, because of his role in her performance. Cardi gave him a wild and tantalizing lapdance on stage and it was the best part of the night. Take a look: On Sunday, Cardi B made it very clear that she was nervous about her upcoming performance. “Sooo I’m opening the show today,” Cardi wrote to her fans and followers. “And,” she admitted. “My anxiety is killing me.” That is a great reminder that part of Cardi's enduring popularity is that she is deeply relatable. “Wish me luck guys,” Cardi concluded, adding: “BET AWARDS!” Offset marched out onto the stage and performed. Comparing Offset's appeal and Cardi's is … wildly unfair to Offset, so we'll just skip right to Cardi's appearance. After Offset's male dancers (and the cameras) provided a distraction, the men pull back. We see Offset seated in a chair and receiving one hell of a lapdance from his gorgeous wife. Now, it's Cardi's turn to perform, rapping and singing to the camera. All the while, she's sitting and grinding upon her husband. As you watch Cardi's incredible skill as she performs, keep in mind that Cardi once did this professionally. Now, she's integrating those skills into a truly stunning performance. The camera orbits as she straddles Offset, giving the audience a taste of what she's offering up. Then, she turns around and undulates her body in a sinuous motion while facing the audience. The result is spectacular. Then, of course, she sings, and it's a great performance.  We're sure that Offset, wherever he was at this point, was giving her a standing ovation. Cardi had a busy night, but she still made time to tweet — and even to respond to fans. “Someone said Offset out-danced you,” one fan tweeted at her. The Twitter denizen used a pair of laughing emojis to correctly convey the absurdity of that comment. Cardi replied, and she found a very on-brand way to sidestep having to insult her husband. She quote-tweeted the fan's words, writing: “But let’s see who going to K.O first after sex tonight tho ?” Cardi kind of opened herself up to jokes about how she apparently used to drug and rob men, there. However, she also tweeted about what a good night she was having despite her anxiety. “I finally met taraji !!!!!!” Cardi exclaimed with glee. “The universe was trying to stop the link -___-” She also gave the overall experience a glowing review. “The @BET awards was so lit,” Cardi announced. “Everybody turn the f–k up from Beginning to End.” Of course, not all of Cardi's weekend was filled with fun … or filled with Offset . See, a grand jury voted to indict her for that Cardi-beatdown she allegedly ordered against a pair of strippers she accused of hooking up with Offset. It turns out that ordering your goons to attack a woman not once, but twice is a crime. Cardi may be rich, but money can only go so far when it comes to getting a famously hot-tempered person out of trouble with the law.

Meri Brown is really not even trying to hide it anymore. In the past, we maybe had to parse the reality star’s words and try to determine whether or not she was throwing shade at her fellow Sister Wives. But that was back then. Now? At this moment? Based on what the television personality just shared on her Instagram Story? We don’t think there’s any doubt any longer. “Never water yourself down just because someone can’t handle you at 100 proof,” Brown shared a couple days ago, not referencing Kody Brown or any of his other wives by name… … but come on now. Meri, for those who don’t follow Sister Wives closely, has been unhappy in her marriage for years now. It’s difficult to blame her, considering she must share her husband and her life with three other women at pretty much all times. About four years ago, Meri tried to break out of this arrangement and actually thought she had found a new guy — only to fall victim to a very embarrassing catfishing scandal . Since then, the state of her relationship with Kody has been a prominent Sister Wives storyline. In April, Meri made it clear she wasn’t happy about the move from Las Vegas to Arizona. About a month later, she appeared to get especially personal when she wrote the following on social media: I wish more women realized that helping another woman win, cheering her on, praying for her, or sharing a resource with her, does NOT take away from the blessings coming to them. In fact, the more you give, the more you receive. Empowering women doesn’t come from selfishness but rather from selflessness. Based on the fact that Meri wanted to start a bed and breakfast, and that none of her co-stars were willing to chip in financially with it, this was assumed to be a shot at Robyn, Janelle and Christine. And now we have Meri’s latest social media shot. The only question that now remains is whether or not Kody will response. Shortly after Meri slammed the Sister Wives for not being supportive, Kody pretty clearly came right back at her. “Bitterness is the undoing of creativity,” he Tweeted, adding: “Thus, a poet allows his blood to sweeten with pain. May all pain sweeten your blood so you will access Source Energy and find Peace.” Where will things go from here? It’s hard to say. All we know for now is that Sister Wives is filming once again — and you better believe producers are loving all this drama and in-fighting among the cast. He’s taking over the role from Anders Holm, who starred in the original pilot. The “Black-ish” spinoff focuses on the experience of Tracee Ellis Ross’s character, Bow,” growing up in a mixed-race family in the ‘80s. Gosselaar joins a cast that includes Arica Himmel as Bow Johnson, Tika Sumpter as Alicia Johnson, Christina Anthony as Denise, Mykal-Michelle Harris as Santamonica Johnson and Ethan Childress as Johan Johnson. Rather than splurging on pricey leave-in conditioners and salon treatments (which can be worth it every now and then), the Traffik star swears by a brand for her curls that she buys right at the grocery store. “It’s a 10!,” Patton exclaimed at the Moschino 2020 Spring/Summer Resort fashion show in Universal City, Calif. when we asked her about the products that give her natural curly hair a boost. “You can get it at the grocery store,” she continued with a laugh. As for which products she uses from the collection, the actress said she swears by “the leave in spray. I love that.” She continued, “I use the shampoo, conditioner, and that spritz, with a little bit of shine oil.”
