UK Trash the Next Generation at Some Launch Party of the Day

I don’t know anything about the UK or the trash it produces in terms of music, celebrity and Katie Price or in this case the next generation of Katie Price whores…so I decided to ask my ex-internet girlfriend who lives in the UK what the deal is behind these slutty trashcan looking pigs in various shitty UK bands and why they are famous….is it because the UK is filled with uneducated mill workers and chimney sweepers, or do they just think pussy should look fake tanned, fake titted, like it was still the 90s…. This is what she had to say: Well over here the tabloids are different and there’s a whole subculture of ‘glamour girls’ and footballers wives, but it’s not like I could sing you a Pixie Lott song. I don’t think I’ve ever heard her. Frankie Sanford used to be in a group when she was 9 called S Club Juniors. They made a reality TV show about it. Tulisa…who the hell is that…oh ndubz girl, yeah shes not really very famous. They’re talentless and average and really boring….No I will not make my pussy talk on Skype for you. British people, even when they are 17 year old girls, always sound so smart…it’s the accent, even in their writing….and all I really know is that if a bitch is wearing her bedroom lingerie as her outside clothes…she can’t be all that bad…. The Last Song Opening Weekend Results: Mediocre

Despite critical bashing of The Last Song , the first non- Hannah Montana movie to feature Miley Cyrus cracked the top five at the box office this weekend. But the film only earned $16 million, not coming close to the top spot or even the number-three spot. Since it opened on Wednesday, the flick has garnered $25.6 million. See chart, below… While fake sources claim Miley thinks she should earn an Oscar for this role, and that her ” ego is out of control ,” Cyrus hasn’t actually responded publicly about her goals for the movie. Still, it’s safe to assume she and producers were hoping for a better showing. Barely making half the box office as Why Did I Get Married Too ? Really?!? Cyrus has made it clear that her future is on the big screen, as opposed to television or in the recording studio. It’s too early to say how these results will affect those plans. But at least one thing came out of it: she met Liam Hemsworth . Click on the photos above to enlarge shots of Miley Cyrus in The Last Song.

Nicki Minaj Unleashes ‘Massive Attack’ At Last

The rapper’s long-awaited first single hit the Internet and airwaves Monday night. By Shaheem Reid Nicki Minaj Photo: MTV News Not only does Nicki Minaj hang out with Lil Wayne and Drake , but according to her new song, “Massive Attack,” she also chills with Mr. Miyagi and the Phantom of the Opera. The wait is over: Minaj has released her first official single. The track hit the Net on Monday night, and Funk Master Flex blasted off on Hot 97 with it. The track fuses hip-hop and dance, and Minaj adds a little international flavor by spitting some lyrics with a Caribbean accent. “So, so hot in here it feels like a jungle/ Me don’t like boys that ain’t jumbo,” she raps. “You know I got the ammo/ That’s why I bulletproof the Lambo/ In the Middle East on a camel/ Running through the jungle, Rambo/ Liberace tango/ Swinging on a vine, mango/ So, call me Simba, little mama, ’cause Mufasa couldn’t stop her … .” “It’s produced by Sean Garrett and Alex the Kid,” Minaj explained to MTV News recently in New York. “The beat, as soon as I heard it, I was in Africa being captivated by crazy drums. It’s a very rare. … You’re not gonna get the song the first time you hear it. After the second or third time, you’re gonna be like, ‘Whoa, what is this?’ It sounds nothing like anything that’s out right now. “It’s so next-level futuristic,” she continued. “Shout-out to Sean, because one thing, he’s great with getting that other-level creativity that other people don’t get. So, since I heard his writing style, I always wanted to collabo and work with him. I felt that he’s one of the people that would get me, get my personality and get that on a record and choose a beat that would illustrate Nicki Minaj. And he did.” Garret told Mixtape Daily in February that “Massive Attack” is “explosive.” “I can’t wait for y’all to hear it, man,” he said. “It’s just given me a lot of time to create some real special music that’s a lot different from what people expected. “I’m really, really excited about Nicki because I think that what Nicki has understood is that she can do whatever she wants to do,” he continued. “She’s a dreamer just like myself. I feel like when you’re creative … it’s basically like her whole image thing. She’s taken her image to a whole other level with the whole Barbie thing. And I think she’s very imaginative and her music’s great and she’s not scared of nothing. She’s fearless. As long as you’re fearless in life you can do anything.” Nicki and Sean shot the video for “Massive Attack” with director Hype Williams early this month in California. Amber Rose and the Birdman also make cameos. “I kinda always like to do things in an unexpected fashion,” Minaj said on the set. “I didn’t want to shoot the typical new-artist vision. Thank god I have a wonderful label that stands behind me and my vision. I met Hype in a freakin’ airport. I didn’t recognize him without his dreads. We exchanged information, and it happened to be a week before I wanted to shoot a video. I told him the idea. Of course, I had to let Baby and Slim know and hope they would understand my expensive taste. It all came together. Sean Garrett is on the hook.” Related Artists Nicki Minaj Drake Lil Wayne

‘Victorious’ Star Victoria Justice Is ‘Luckiest Girl In The World’

‘It’s such an awesome show and the writing is hilarious,’ she says of her new Nickelodeon sitcom. By Jocelyn Vena Victoria Justice on the set of “Victorious” Photo: MTV News “Victorious” is a new show on Nickelodeon about a young lady, Tori Vega, who finds herself smack dab in the middle of the drama that surrounds life at a performing arts high school. Making its premiere after the Kids’ Choice Awards , the show’s star, Victoria Justice, said that getting to star in her own show after playing supporting roles on other Nick shows like “Zoey 101” and “iCarly” has certainly proved to be a dream come true. “I just think it’s such an awesome show and the writing is hilarious,” Justice told MTV News on the show’s set. “My whole cast is amazingly talented, so I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.” While Justice certainly has a lot of Hollywood experience for someone of her young age, co-star Mark Bennett, who plays Robbie on the show, explained that her character Tori is still trying to figure out who she is as a performer. “[It’s] a show for people with dreams,” he said. “It’s a real Cinderella story. She’s trying to integrate herself into the Hollywood society.” Justice agreed. “She’s kind of figuring out how to express herself, and she loves singing and dancing and acting,” she said. “And then along the way she meets all these other crazy kids that go there.” So if her character loves singing and dancing, does that mean we will get to see Justice do both on the show? “We have all original music,” she said. “And I think there’s going to be a song every three or four episodes or so.” Are you excited for Victoria’s new show? Tell us in the comments!

Taio Cruz Talks Collaborating With Ludacris, Ke$ha

Cruz, who had a ‘great time on the set’ with Ke$ha, plans to attend WMC 2010 in Miami. By Akshay Bhansali Taio Cruz Photo: Jules Annan/ Getty Images Taio Cruz may not be a household name yet in the United States, but that should change soon. The British pop/R&B Singer recently broke a Billboard record when his single “Break Your Heart” (featuring Ludacris) jumped 52 places from its debut position to the #1 spot on the Hot 100 chart. “With Ludacris, pretty much every track he’s ever featured on sounds amazing,” Cruz told MTV News. “I gave him a quick call and asked him if he could get on the record, and he recorded it and sent it over. As I expected, there was nothing I needed to change. It sounded perfect.” It’s also worth noting that Luda’s verse helped Cruz clarify just how to pronounce his first name correctly. “He put my name in there, which is great — so people know to pronounce it now properly, hopefully,” Taio (pronounced “Tie-O”) said. Cruz released his second album in the U.K., Rockstarr, last year, and now has his sights set on the States. Also impressive is the fact that he has songwriting game, a talent that has recently seen him penning tracks for a couple of artists you may recognize. “I’ve been meeting producers,” Cruz said. “I was writing for Rihanna and Justin Bieber, like, two weeks ago. I was in with producers like J.R. Rotem and Stargate and Kevin Rudolph and people like that. So, I’ve spent time with those guys and definitely making links with the writing.” Cruz plans to release Rockstarr in the U.S. with the majority of the tracks from his U.K. release, but he’d like to add a few fan favorites from his first U.K. release, Departure — perhaps “I Just Wanna Know” or “She’s Like A Star,” he offered. And while the video for “Break Your Heart” had him poolside and on a speedboat in the ocean, the video for his upcoming single “Dirty Picture” features Ke$ha, so you know they had to make things a bit grittier. “The video is looking amazing. We’ve got her performing in a public bathroom, which is quite entertaining,” Cruz chuckled. The setting is an underground basement with folks having a good time and Ke$ha being, well, Ke$sha-y. “Yeah, she’s crazy. She’s cool. She’s not like a mad person — she doesn’t have, like, any kind of censor on what she wants to say. When she wants to say something she just says it and then it’s so much fun. We just had a great time on the set of the video and she’s just an amazing performer and artist.” Rockstarr is set for a May 18 release, with “Dirty Picture” hitting radio most likely in June. If you can’t wait that long, you will find cruz with the electronic music fans descending upon Miami’s Winter Music Conference 2010 . “I’m gonna be hanging out with Axwell and Roger Sanchez,” he said. Stick with MTV News for more coverage of the WMC 2010, which kicks off Tuesday in Miami. Related Videos ‘The Runaways’ Movie Clips Related Artists Ke$ha Ludacris

World Water Day: Make Your Voice Heard!

World Water Day will be held on March 22. To mark the date, the Pulitzer Center is teaming up with the writers’ site Helium and some of the world’s most influential water advocates and NGOs to present a World Water Day writing contest. We want to hear your voices on the world’s greatest public health crisis: Inaccessibility to safe water. Some 1.1 billion people lack reliable access to safe water that is free from disease and industrial waste. And 2.6 billion do not have access to adequate sanitation facilities. Approximately 4,500 people die everyday from waterborne diseases – more than from HIV-AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis combined. These are among the issues addressed in Downstream, the Pulitzer Center’s interactive web portal dedicated to global water issues. To learn more about these water-related issues, you can also view Water Wars here on Current. Produced by the Common Language Project in collaboration with the Pulitzer Center, Water Wars are multimedia reports that focus on water scarcity and climate change in Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda. Now, the Pulitzer Center is seeking to spur public debate by asking: Inadequate access to safe water and sanitation claims 4,500 lives a day. What should we do about it? This is an opportunity to have your ideas – and solutions! – showcased to thousands of readers. To submit your essay visit the Pulitzer Center website. All entries will be shown on the Helium and Pulitzer Center sites. The winner, selected from the 10 entries judged best by the Helium community, will receive a Pulitzer Center Citizen Journalist Award. The deadline for the World Water Day Writing Contest is Wednesday March 31. The Pulitzer Center Citizen Journalist Award for this contest will be announced on Friday April 9. added by: PulitzerCenter

Gucci Mane Recorded BurrrPrint 2HD Tracks From Jail

‘He rapped a cappella over the phone, and we matched up the beat to it in the studio,’ DJ Holiday tells Mixtape Daily. By Shaheem Reid Gucci Mane’s BurrrPrint 2HD mixtape Photo: Brick Squad/Warner Bros. The O.D.: A Mixtape Daily Exclusive On Tuesday, we slid you the exclusive gem that Gucci Mane is putting out a mixtape album on April 13. While Gucci is in jail now for a probation violation, we have his main accomplice in all this, DJ Holiday, to let us in on the odds and ends. “It’s the warm-up before Writing’s on the Wall 2, ” Holiday said of The BurrrPrint 2HD. “I talk to him every other day. His spirit is up. He’s 1,000. He called me to get an update of what’s going on in the city. My tapes is crazy. Waka is the hottest thing out here. Nicki is on fire. He was like, ‘You think they miss our tapes?’ I was like, ‘Hell yeah.’ He said, ‘Let’s do something. [But] you know I can’t move like I want to.’ I said, ‘Let’s knock it out on some over-the-phone sh–.’ “They gonna really f— with the mixtape, because he’s really rapping on the tape from the phone,” Holiday continued. “We matched up a beat with Drumma Boy, and [Gucci] rapped on it. But he rapped a cappella over the phone, and we matched up the beat to it in the studio. It’s f—ing bananas. I thought it was creative. You know how Shyne was locked up and you’d get a freestyle from the phone? I said, ‘Let’s take it another step.’ We recorded him rapping on the phone in the mic … and went from there. Then we matched it with the beat Drumma Boy made. It came out crazy, and it sounds good too.” “New Gucci Mane mixtape is going to be crazy!!!” Drumma Boy said. “Gucci kept tellin’ me how much of an impact he wanted to make with this mixtape, and with him being incarcerated, we had to be very creative in how we got this done. One of my favorite records and most difficult records that I’ve ever produced was BurrrPrint 2 off the mixtape. He called me one day I was in the studio making beats, and he told me he had written some new verses and wanted me to hear them. So I stopped doing what I was doing to listen. After five seconds of listening, I was like, ‘Stop. I’mma record you while you rap through the phone.’ I recorded his verses but later realized that there was no consistent tempo. This means I had to chop up each word for word to punch into tempo, which took me about five to six hours. After I had lined up his verses, I then began to add music around the verses, structure the build, and then create a hook that matched the intensity of his verses. Overall, I spent a good two days producing that record, and it’s a great feeling to see people’s reactions after them finding out I produced the record of Gucci Mane through the phone.” The other records on BP2HD are unreleased records Gucci had in the stash. “Anybody who knows Gucci, they know his work ethic in that studio is ridiculous,” Holiday said. “I got 10 songs in one damn day. All brand-new records, bruh. Maybe one record you might know. Everything else is brand-new. One song is with Ludacris called ‘Atlanta Is a Zoo.’ It’s a club banger. One song is crazy with Jim Jones. He’s got another one with Rick Ross and Yo Gotti. Heavy features on there. It’s a mixtape album. The label [Asylum] is going all out with it.” Shawty Redd and Fat Boi are among those who contributed tracks. Drumma Boy handled most of the production. Gucci’s camp is hoping BurrrPrint 2HD will tide fans over until Mr. LaFlare gets home. As soon as Gucci comes home from jail, he plans to record the sequel to his mixtape The Writing’s on the Wall and later put out his album ( The State vs. Radric Davis: The Appeal ). DJ Holiday’s next mixtape is Waka Flocka Flame’s Flockaveli. Holiday’s debut album will be released later this year and called either The Tape or We Working. In Video, Audio and Writing, Pentagon Shooter Left Bizarre Internet Trail [Shootings]

Authorities have identified 36 year-old John Patrick Bedell as the man who calmly opened fire at a Pentagon checkpoint Thursday, wounding two police officers before being killed himself. His Internet activity suggests a man with deeply paranoid political views. According to the AP, Bedell walked up to a Pentagon checkpoint at 6:40pm, drew a gun and began shooting. Richard Keevill, the chief of Pentagon police told the AP: “He just reached in his pocket, pulled out a gun and started shooting… He walked up very cool. He had no real emotion on his face.” Here is Bedell, also with no real emotion on his face, as he explains in a Youtube video his complex system of “information currency,” which appears to have been one of his obsessions: Bedell was clearly intelligent; he was an avid software developer and aspiring engineer who worked to develop technology he believed would lead to “liberty and justice. He was nonetheless a certifiable wackjob. Steve Huff at mediaelites has posted a summary of what can be gleaned from Bedell’s Internet activity. Bedell, who had a bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, believed the government was behind 9/11, and these beliefs interfaced strangely with an enthusiasm for marijuana legalization and the “Information Currency” system he explains above. Speaking of the suicide of Marine Col. James Sabow—who 9/11 conspiracy theorists believe was assassinated to cover up a 9/11 plot—Bedell wrote on his wikipedia profile (now deleted): I am determined to see that justice is served in the death of Colonel James Sabow, as a step toward establishing the truth of events such as the September 11 demolitions and institutions such as the coup regime of 1963 that mantains itself in power through the global drug trade, financial corruption, and murder, among other crimes. Bedell claims these beliefs led him to attempt to devise a subversive marijuana-based monetary system based on his ideas of Information Currency. He started with a 16-plant growing operation on his balcony in Irving, CA. (In fact, Bedell uploaded a picture of his own pot plant to wikipedia.) Police discovered his plants in June 2006 and he was arrested. The felony complaint, which he posted to a pro-marijuana website, details a contentious arrest: When the police came to Bedell’s door, he wouldn’t let them in and began resisting arrest, pushing against police and collapsing to the floor when they tried to bring hm out of his apartment: Here’s what they found: His marijuana operation thwarted, he appeared to turn his efforts to the Internet and his software development company, Infoenge. (The first post on the company’s blog is October 3, 2006 ) With Infoeng, Bedell working on technology that might someday lead to ” a USB flash drive that performs personal DNA sequencing information “—presumably as a component of his Information Currency scheme. Almost every trace Bedell left on the Internet from that point on displays an obsession with information—storing, retrieving, and revealing it—coupled with boilerplate Libertarian and pro-marijuana ideology. His wikipedia talkpage is a litany of rejected edits, detailing his efforts to insert 9/11 truther dogma into various pages. An Amazon review praises the book Inside Delta Force for its Insights into America’s Secret History He apparently left audio recordings as well, which he posted to the Internet Archive. A two-part address called “Directions to Freedom” which proses “directions to freedom, security, and prosperity, which could be considered his manifesto. “Directions to Freedom” opens with Hello, thank you for listening. I have an intense personal desire for freedom and I need your help so we can, together, continue to enjoy the benefits of freedom and work toward the more perfect realization of liberty and justice in our society. Anyone hoping for a better glimpse at what led Bedell from an obsession with the liberating power of information to violence would probably do well starting with these recordings—which he transcribed on his blog here . What Bedell did was terrible, but any attempt at writing Bedell off as simply a brain-washed Glenn Beck zombie or an idiotic anti-government 9/11 truther can’t capture the complexity of his motivations and the singular weirdness going on in his brain. As a Mediaelites commenter writes, “this guy was one of those dudes to smart for his own good and far from a tea bagger.” [ Infoeng ][ Rothbardix ][ Tekgnosis ][ mediaelites ][ AP ]
