Might Suzanne Somers soon knock on the door of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills… permanently? The former Three’s Company actress – who partnered this season with Tony Dovolani on Dancing with the Stars and who is friends with Yolanda Foster – appeared last night on Watch What Happens Live. Because she’s stopped by the Bravo hit on a couple of occasions, Somers was asked about potentially becoming a full-time cast member on Season 6. “I’ve seen that [rumor]. Are you planting that?” Somers asked host Andy Cohen. “I loved showing up there. I don’t know if I want to be there all the time, but I loved showing up there.” So it doesn’t sound as if we’ll be able to watch The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills online each week next year and see Somers gracing our screen… which is too bad. Early on Thursday this week, Kim Richards got arrested for being drunk and belligerent. That incident followed a season in which Kim fought with new cast members Lisa Rinna and Eileen Davidson, mostly about her alleged substance abuse issues. There was also plenty of tension between the Richards siblings and the featured women in general. Country music superstar Tim McGraw will headline July concert to benefit Sandy Hook Promise, a group that seeks to protect children from gun violence. Surprisingly, or perhaps not, this announcement resulted in serious backlash from gun advocates calling McGraw a hypocrite and a whole lot worse. Among the critics was fellow country music star Travis Tritt, who tweeted his disdain for McGraw’s concert, and he was far from alone in that sentiment. The blog Bearing Arms, for its part, reported the story with the headline “Tim McGraw Poised to Dixie Chick Himself With Gun Control Benefit Concert.” McGraw “seems poised to make a similar, potentially career-ending move,” the blog argued, referencing the Dixie Chicks’ Iraq War controversy of 2003. Lead singer Natalie Maines unabashedly slammed President George W. Bush over that military initiative, and the group’s popularity slowly declined. Coincidence? Natural progression of a pop country girl group peaking around then anyway? Perhaps, but many have linked McGraw’s and Maines’ comments. Meanwhile, McGraw responded that he supports gun ownership, but added, “I also believe that with gun ownership comes the responsibility of education and safety.” Most certainly, the 47-year-old husband of Faith Hill said, “when it relates to what we value most, our children … I can’t imagine anyone who disagrees with that.” In his announcement, McGraw said, “Out of this tragedy a group was formed that made a promise to honor the lives lost and turn it into a moment of transformation.” “Sandy Hook Promise teaches that we can do something to protect our children from gun violence. Writing on his Facebook page, Currington said he would donate to a local organization, but “I’ve never been one to take on controversial issues – I’m a singer.” The Sandy Hook Promise group formed to honor the 20 children and six staff members gunned down in an elementary school in December 2012. Adam Lanza , 20 entered the Newtown, Conn., school and went on a rampage. He also killed his mother prior to the attack and committed suicide afterward. The incident is the deadliest school shooting in the U.S., yet little or no action was taken on the federal government level amid pressure from gun advocates. The provocative thriller about desire and the dangers of indiscretion stars Sharon Leal and Boris Kodjoe who are steaming up movie screens with their story. In it, we see Leal as Zoe Lenard, a successful businesswoman who puts at risk her career and family due to her insatiable sexual appetite. A film for adults for sure, ADDICTED binds the seductive love scenes to real life situations that keep you engrossed as you wait to see if Zoe can turn from her pleasure seeking ways and work on piecing her picture perfect life back together. Zane recently caught up with BOSSIP during a round table discussion and told us about us her immense imagination, her joy for creating simulated sex scenes and the business of dishing out pleasure to the previously repressed in books and cinema. How does a [seemingly] reserved woman like yourself come up with such a dynamic script? I’m not always reserved. I think that I’m a normal woman who is professional but also very passionate. I’m passionate about everything I do in life. Do any of your real life experiences trickle into this film? All the time. (Laughs) I never say which ones. A lot of my friends are tickled because they see the [sexual] stuff that they’ve done in my stuff. It’s a lot of me and a lot of my best friends. How are your Cinemax shows similar and dissimilar to this movie? Doing the Cinemax shows was very interesting, I wanted to do something different and something that changed the landscape over there and it did. We cut down the amount of sex that was in a late night show by half and did something that had never been done. I really love the challenge of creating simulated sex scenes and making them look real. People swear up and down that people are having sex and they’re not. I know for a fact that they were not but I’m very good at making it look real and I was very specific with the scenes. Even in the movie you see there’s a difference between the way a man makes love to someone he’s in love with and someone he’s just screwing. And in the movie it’s the reverse, you look at the way Sharon was with Boris, it was one way; and then with William it was another way and then with Tyson it was like; okay! She said I’ve never done anything like this before and she dropped them panties. Women do have those different ways that they like to have sex. Do you think it’s liberating to show women taking control of their sexuality? Absolutely. Sexuality is usually the area in a woman’s life where they feel the least comfortable but of they can feel comfrtable in that area it usually trickles down to other areas of their life. Let’s face it, when women are sexually satisfied, they have a different appearance about them. I was joking with Boris and William [Levy] about how I can always tell when my friends are not having sex; their skin is dry, their hair is brittle, they’re like snap dragons but when they have a good sex life their skin is glowing, their hair is beautiful and they’re coming over to my house baking red velvet cupcakes. You know what I’m talking about. It really is a need. Talk to me about your writing. There are tons of romance and erotica writers, but what about your work keeps fans coming back for more? I think it’s my vivid imagination., I think I write outside the box. I have a very unique writing style, I keep it very real, I’m very detailed. I think most of it comes from the fact that I dig deep into creating my characters so people become engrossed in them. I remember when I first wrote “ADDICTED” and put it online, there were people who were actually having arguments about Zoe and Jason like they were real people. That’s when I knew I had something. What is it like being a black woman in Hollywood and writing so openly about sex? On one hand you have support from feminists and on the other you have women who are conservative and probably take issue with it… They do, they can take issue all day long. I’m just doing me. I’ve never really dealt with criticism to be honest, I know I got here ’cause my parents had sex, I don’t know about y’all. My father’s a minister but I know for a fact that my parents had sex, it’s a very natural part of life. I was really shocked when I first swtarted doing this and there was all this backlash. That’s why I continued to do it because on one hand there were people saying all this stuff but then there were women emailing me from around the world like, ‘thank you for letting me know that I’m normal. There were women in their 40s telling me I never had an orgasm until I started reading your books and started feeling like I could actually demand sex the way that I wanted to have sex. That’s why one of my books is titled “Missionary No More.” I feel like women if we’re going to have sex why shouldn’t we enjoy it as much as the men? Why should we just be a vessel for the man’s pleasure? We should be just as satisfied from the process as the men. Shonda Rhimes writes about women who take control in the boardroom and the bedroom, what’s your take on her and what she’s doing for television? I think it’s great, I think it’s absolutely great. I think that the more doors that are opened the better and the more people will embrace giving people opportunities. It looks like even more of Vicki Gunvalson’s dirty laundry is about to become public as a judge refused to seal documents related to a recent lawsuit. The Real Housewives of Orange County star and her controversial boyfriend Brooks Ayers are embroiled in a legal dispute over Vicki’s vodka line. The duo sought a protective order preventing “confidential, propriety, or private information” from being exposed in court, but their request was denied. Vicki argued that the two “are celebrities, and tabloids and other news media have shown an interest in publishing information about their lives.” In fact, she argues regarding items such as the video of Brooks Ayers admitting he cheated on Vicki with hookers, some of that stuff is already out there. The Bravo stars tried hard to protect “all items or information that are produced or generated in disclosures or responses to discovery in this matter.” U.S. Magistrate Judge George Foley Jr. shut down the twosome’s request, claiming they didn’t adequately prove the material needed to stay private. Gunvalson pulled the plug on her Vicki’s Vodka brand amid the legal battling that has seen both her name and Brooks’ dragged through the mud. Vicki has stood by Brooks despite of his alleged history of violence and other seedy activities, while he claims that all of this was a long time ago . Back in June, Kylie and Kendall Jenner wrote a book . Yes, you read that right. And no, this isn’t like Kim Kardsahian’s book of selfies . This is a work of fiction with actual words and a plot. To be fair, the girls worked with a ghostwriter, but the parties involved swear they played an active part in the writing process and that the premise of the book was all KJ and KJ’s idea. Which could have something to do with why it’s been a total disaster. The critical response to Rebels: City of Indra was overwhelmingly negative, but that’s not exactly a huge surprise. (Did we mention it was written by Kylie and Kendall Jenner?) What did come as a big shock to the book’s publisher is the fact that despite the two mega-famous names on the cover, the book has been an absolute flop in terms of sales. Rebels has sold just 13,000 copies since it first hit bookstores three months ago. To put that in perspective, Kate Gosselin’s most recent memoir moved more than twice as many copies in the same time period. Part of the problem may have been that Kylie and Kendall showed no interest in promoting the book . They were reportedly rude to fans at promotional events and would only sign a few copies of the book for the cameras before bolting. You’d think if you’d actually written a freaking book you’d show a bit more interest in getting people to read it but, hey those selfies aren’t gonna take themselves. Farrah Abraham : I starting writing on my own first, and then I was fortunate enough to find the perfect erotic romance publisher, Ellora’s Cave. They call themselves “the Bad Girls” of romance. I’m so glad we found each other. THG : The trilogy is loosely based on your life and sex tape. What similarities can we expect and what things did you embellish or fictionalize for the story? Farrah : This is primarily a fictional story. Fallon Opal, the main character, is much different then I am. She’s a celebrity, but she works on scripted entertainment while I started off in reality television. She also does not have a child. Fallon experiences life in her own way, but still she is very relatable on how she deals with sexuality and life. I think most young women will relate to her like I do. That being said, the journey Fallon takes is mostly from my wild imagination, which is sometimes inspired by my own personal experience and those of my friends. THG : You’ve said your sex tape “ruined” your life and made some alarming allegations about things that happened to you as a result of it. Does it feel at all strange to be capitalizing on its enormous success? Farrah : It was really difficult for me to go through the events of the past year. Writing book one in this series was one way for me to deal with my feelings and come to terms with what happened. It is something I would never have thought I would experience and alarming to say the least, but writing is almost like therapy for me and I’m in a great place right now. THG : Will the book serve as a social commentary on any topics such as the porn industry or the celebrity-obsessed culture we live in? Or will it just be a fun (hot!) read? Farrah : Yes and yes! Fallon’s story is inspired by my story, so the things I’ve gone through and come across make their way into the book. It does address social topics like the porn industry, our celebrity obsessed culture, and entertainment at large. But at its core it’s a hot and heavy to read. THG : Are the second and third installments of Celebrity Sex Tape already outlined? Do you have an idea of where the story is going over the course of the trilogy? Farrah : The whole plot is already conceived and we’re working on writing and editing the second and third installments right now. I am very proud of how it will end (as well as how it starts in book one). I think the characters are amazing, and I really hope my readers agree. But I can’t give too much away!! THG : Do you do any “research” to get in the mood for writing such steamy material? Physically, over the Internet, etc.? Farrah : There is no research I need to do other than looking up a term or running something by my girlfriends. A lot of the writing comes naturally because I try to keep as true as possible to real life… I will say it’s hard to keep focus when some scenes get really hot and heavy. But that’s half of the fun. I can only imagine what my readers will say. Hopefully they will be as pleased as I was writing it. THG : How has being involved with one of the highest-profile sex tapes ever impacted your dating life? Farrah : As many fans saw on Couples Therapy , my dating life had been going toward a negative direction for a while. Since therapy, I have been much better but not really focusing on dating. I learned that waiting for the right guy takes sometime. I’m just trying to focus on my daughter and my career. THG : You’ve heard it all from fans, haters, even other Teen Mom stars. How much attention to you pay to what people are saying on blogs, social media, TV, etc.? Farrah : I don’t pay attention to lies and negativity. The positivity, love, and good feedback I get from my family, friends, and fans is all I want to focus on right now. THG : Some people like you, some people might not, but no one can deny you’re working hard for your daughter and your career. What career decision are you most proud of? Farrah : I’m most proud of taking part in 16 & Pregnant when I was pregnant with my daughter. I was thinking about her future before she was even born. THG : Which decision do you regret most so far in your career? Farrah : I try not to live with regrets and I try to learn from my mistakes. But if I had to choose… making a sex tape with someone who is in porn and didn’t really have my best interests in mind. Ladies, please learn from my mistakes and be careful who you trust!!! THG : Tell us something we don’t know about you and that we might be surprised to know. Farrah : Most people are surprised that most of the time I am just a “regular” mom.
